Great food for the price. Our server Rachael cared about our experience. Our food was awesome for the price. Fish dip was very good!

Ordered take out. Took almost twice as long as they said it would. Entrance was small with no place to wait. Multiple entrances make it hard to find were to pick up. Decor was extremely dated. Which goes with the clientele which is mostly retiree aged. Parking was awkward, lot is small and no takeout parking. Steak dip sandwich was good. Fried mushrooms had a thin breading, I prefer a thicker batter. And the mushrooms were cut and small, they seemed canned not fresh.

Nice Family place with Fantastic Service and Superb Food. What to try: Every Wed is All-you-can-eat Shrimp $14, the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Homemade Potato Chips, the Potato & Bacon Soup, the Swiss Steak with Mashed Potatoes & Brown Gravy... I'm sure there is more, but that's all we tried. A local favorite, for good reason. Go early (think 4:30-5:00) to get seated quickly. Worth the wait if you have to go later. Three generations in our party easily found many items to choose from on the menu and we're all pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of their selections. Stop by the Beachwood Inn, it might be your next "favorite" place to eat.

Mehhh. Unimpressed. We went here while on a road trip in Michigan. The menu had some good selections but i chose to get the "broasted chicken" as the menu states it's been voted best around. It wasn't great by any means. I chose to get a mixture of light and dark meat. The dark meat was okay but the white meat was so dry I could barely even eat it. I had a lot left over (large portion) and I chose not to take it home. My boyfriend had shrimp skewers and he said they were okay but nothing special. He got rice pilaf with it and said it was very bland. Overall, wouldn't go back.

Our family celebrated a special occasion dinner dance in the downstairs banquet center in early August. Beechwood accommodated us very well, every step of the way. We had ninety guests, and many of them commented that they enjoyed the food and found it tastier than the food offered at most wedding and party venues. The roast beef au jus was exceptional, and the baked chicken, moist and tender. Beechwood also accommodated us by serving macaroni and cheese for the children, vegetarians, and adults who just love it as an additional entree. Our guests loved the onion rings and mushrooms that were served during our social time prior to dinner. The servers were efficient, polite, and attentive. Our entire experience there was fun and memorable, and our guests are still talking about that great party.

We're visiting the area and went on a Wednesday night to try out the all you can eat shrimp. It was $13.99 which we thought was reasonable. I had the fried shrimp and they were fabulous! My husband had the Santa Fe Chicken Salad and loved his too. Bread was great too. And the waitress was very attentive in bringing more shrimp. A very nice meal in a quiet environment. We enjoyed our dinner out and would recommend this restaurant if you're a local or visiting the area. We're ready to go back for Friday fish night.

First of all, let me just say that this place would be getting 4 stars if it was just about the food. Unfortunately we had a terrible dining experience. I was with a wedding party that had booked the private room in the basement weeks ago. When we all arrived at the restaurant, they didn't seat us in the private room. They had sectioned off part of the main dining room for us to sit so we could hear all of the loud conversations going on and couldn't enjoy the rehersal dinner. Secondly, our waitress was acting as if she wanted to get rid of us. I was literally holding the salad bowl in my hands when she asked if she could take my salad plate since I was finished. (I wasn't.) Our water glasses sat empty and we had to ask for refills of water. My brother's coke was never refilled. If you are a good waitress you don't ask to refill, you just do it. It's water for goodness sake. Thirdly, the bride-to-be was from out of the country. She had her legal ID with her. The restaurant proceeded to refuse to serve her a drink (AT HER OWN REHEARSAL DINNER!). The visa was a valid picture ID and yet they refused to take it. The groom had to go and find her passport and return in order to get her one drink! They then pestered him and questioned to "make sure the passport wasn't expired". Ridiculous. Also grandma of the groom couldnt be there due to a sudden illness in the family but they still charged them for her plate "because you reserved 16 seats for the all you can eat party". Well if that was the case they should have given them a box so they could take some home to her!!! The groom's family still had to pay for the grandma's dinner. I feel as if we would have known ahead of time how unprofessional the service would be then we would have chose a different restaurant. As a former Hope grad, I was embarrassed to have this represent Holland, MI to my family. This is the last time my family and the other 14 people go there. Sad because their fish wasn't too bad!

Be sure to check the specials before ordering. They make good cent$. Wednesday is all you can eat fried shrimp night. A huge heaping serving of processed shrimp shipped in from some distant coast arrived nicely fried and served with broccoli and cole slaw. The warm rolls included a paprika sprinkling which provided an interesting taste. My server was eager to please. Entry is strange, hostess difficult to find. A good experience. I'll try here again.

Really good food, really good service, but their menu seems a little bit expensive. The specials are the best bet and reasonably priced. Typcal restaurant food - nothing spectacular. I would go back, but not until I've tried a number of the other area restaurants.

Took my kids on a Monday for "kids eat free" with one paying adult. I ordered the special, chicken livers for my birthday meal which they sent a coupon for. 1/3 of way through the meal, I bit into something like a grape that had a strong gross bitter taste. I stopped eating and told waitress. She offered another plate or salad. I asked for salad but then had to leave since I had an appointment to get to. Later on, I learned that they had charged for the salad, and since the salad didn't qualify as an adult meal, we paid for one of the kids meals. I didn't ask for the salad, the waitress offered the salad and that cost us money??? How does that happen? I did some research online afterwards, and sometimes if their butcher or cook isn't careful, the chicken gall bladder is left on the liver and that will release bitter tasting bile into your mouth when you bite into it. I wrote two emails asking to make sure this doesn't happen to other customers and asked for a a gift card to cover the salad which I eventually ended up throwing out. I never received a response. I'm disappointed. The food is generally really good, but in this case they served really gross food, and I'm disappointed that management isn't listening and making sure this doesn't happen to other customers.

Just went here this weekend for dinner. Great atmosphere and great food! My daughter (3yo) had the corn dogs (amazing), I had probably one of the best burgers I've had in months and my wife had the salmon which she also thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be adding this to our list of regular places to eat!

When we complained about the food (was not nasty, rude or loud) the waitress got defensive. We asked to talk to the manager, she too was defensive. Neither seemed interested in our concerns about the food. Manager did comp one entree. Specific comments we had were that the roast beef and chicken soup were very salty and that the fried shrimp were very small covered with a very thick breading. If it was either rude service or bad food might try them again. But with both we will not be eating there again.

Excellent food and service! Vacationing in the area for the second year in a row and this is one place we will definitely visit more than once! Chicken was delicious, kids portions were excellent and my wife had some very tasty perch.

They recently updated their menu so I have not had time to try out all the new additions but Beechwood Inn has been a staple in Holland since I was kid. It is reasonably priced and a great place to bring the family. It is not trying to be anything but a good family restaurant and it has been succeeding for years.

Now this review is hearsay but it comes from somebody who loves this joint, my dad. This is where he takes my mom on dates. I think he loves the fried chicken. Reasonably priced, good American size portions, and he also got a box full of steaks from winning a raffle. It's a nice place to take a family for dinner.
