Service is good, place is clean. I appreciate that the servers meticulously change their plastic gloves frequently while serving a line of guests. Veggies were fresh, meat too.

Can't really say enough good things about this place. The food is great, the service is is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a small-town diner. The portions are far bigger than the prices warrant. I work out of town, so I usually eat breakfast here because I'm not around for lunch. Steak & Eggs is my favorite but there are many many many other wonderful selections on the menu, though most people just have one of the specials. A couple things to prepare for, and not in a negative way: 1. It's small. Half the diner is an old train car, the other half is a small addition. If it's busy you may have to wait, but not too long. If you have a large group 8+ and want to sit together, go somewhere else. :) 2. No public restroom. This has never been an issue for me. They're grandfathered in so they aren't required to have them. Just use the bathroom before you go- (you'll have more room for food that way) :)
I love the Coffee Cup! The Thai food is excellent and the American fare is wonderful as well. Plenty of daily specials to choose from as well as a very complete menu. You won't believe the quality of food and prompt service offered in the modest sized diner! Highly recommend a visit. BTW other reviews mention no credit card accepted but that info must be old, I am certain they are accepted.
My son and I ate here when I visited him at Hillsdale College. What a great find! Food was great; biscuits and gravy breakfast for the college kid were a wonderful treat. Surroundings are nothing fancy, but we liked the "mom and pop" atmosphere. Prices were extremely reasonable, so leave a nice big tip.

Delicious subs in a cool side street shop! Ordered a half submarine sandwich and it was very good. Loaded with tasty fresh meats and cheese. Get the everything toppings add on, the special sauce they use is amazing. Bread was soft, filling, and fresh. Have other items like potato salad, hot sides and meat by the pound. Overall, very good! Prices are not high also.
Whenever I have the time I always make sure to stop in to see Cindy and have a great sub. Delicious meats, bread, and the service is excellent.
Easily, the best subs in town. But the crown jewel is the alternating Friday lunch special Sloppy Joe's, words can not express how freakin' good these things are. Also they don't skimp out on the portions sizes and the prices are super reasonable. Bad location for out-of-towers. MUST TRY!!!

I regret not getting the Mac and cheese burger!! It looks really tasty. Friendly staffs and a good place for beer and appetizers.
Outrageously disappointed in recent changes to a decades old staple. The Irish Style Deer's Ears. By eliminating that wonderful cheddar cheese sauce and substituting it with shredded cheese, you successfully transformed a memorable appetizer into something served by every bar in the country. Dry, flavorless potato skins. With bacon.
Several in our party ordered fish. They were sorry- not good. Ordered a vodka martini on the rocks . It was served in a cocktail glass jammed with ice. Wrong drink to get in a hamburger joint. We wouldn't go back.

Good food, not frozen reheated food (if it is then its a great job). Nice dining area great kids menu my boys loved their hamburger and spaghetti. The hamburger I ordered was cooked perfectly, they also had a gentleman playing his guitar and singing, a very nice change to the usual radio playing softly overhead. Very tasty potato skins covered in bacon (always good)
Very friendly, hometown feel. A place where people know your name and serve great food every day. You are greeted by a friendly person and served by friendly staff. Kim was especially watchful.
Really yummy joint! I had the Turkey Melt with curly fries. The avocado was fresh and the turkey was moist and flavorful. Would highly recommended this local joint!

This is a tiny diner right in old town Hillsdale. We went for breakfast and it was really good! We ordered the breakfast sandwich, which is a simple dish, but they managed to improve on it from what I can make at home. We also ordered the cinnamon role pancakes. Two was too many. One is huge and SO yummy. Couple of notes, "no outside beverages" is strictly enforced. Also cash only. But it's cheap enough that that might not be a problem. Definitely a must go place. Also, lots of locals eating here, so that's a good sign!
Awful service, ok food and rude staff. Probably a good example of the saying : "you get what you pay for" Cash only - also dumb in 2015
Good food, great people! Best breakfast in the 517

This is a pretty hole in the wall place, but I have found that the worse it looks on the outside, the better the food is on the inside. :) At least that may be true with Mexican restaurants. The service was good and the waiters were friendly. The food came out incredibly quick even though there were quite a few people in the restaurant. I ordered the chimichanga's with steak and had a pulled pork soft corn taco. The taco was excellent and I wished I had ordered 4-5 of those! The chimichanga was very good as well. The food was priced well and was very good. I would return here again!
Good food, service is ok. Prices have gone up a ton in the last couple of years, which is somewhat understandable.
Food good but waiter had to be hailed twice And rest room with torn off wall towel Dispenser not so clean

Cavoni’s Pizza & Grinders

I used to like this restaurant when I was younger but not anymore. The past several times I've gone in to pick up carry out I was met with rude service. The food is ok. It is certainly not worth the lofty price. A tastier comparable entree can be found elsewhere for a much better price and served with a smile versus inhospitable staff. There was one occasion I went in and stood at the counter waiting to be helped while the staff continued their conversation. When I was acknowledged it was as if I was inconveniencing him to have him do his job. Similar behavior is modeled there every time I go. I only go to pick up for others. I refuse to go there for myself any more.
Very good preparation with quality ingredients, as the restaurant is now owned by Mancino's.The dine-in experience is slightly unpleasant at times.
Before, I had only gotten the Cavoni Club grinder for take-out, which was pretty good. In november, I went with my mother and brother for a birthday lunch. The food was good, I ordered a Calzone, and they both ordered a pizza sub. Good food for a good price! My problem was the service: Yes, there was an 8-person table in there (and a two other two-person tables who had obviously been eating awhile). No, that does not mean you can skimp on service to the other tables! There were 3 servers, and it took 10 minutes for them to take our order. After we'd ordered, it took something like 25 minutes to wait for our food to come out-- a table that had come in shortly after we'd ordered were given their food first! Also, the waitress never came back to check up on us. A huge no-no in food business! They weren't exceptionally busy, but she never came back to fill our cups (we all had empty glasses halfway through the wait), check on how everything was, or give us containers to take-home. I ended up having to go to the counter to get my check and some containers. A few months later, on a cold and lazy Saturday, we decided to order all the same things for take-out. Not nearly as good. The calzone was salty, the grinders were barely warm (I had taken them straight from the restaurant home, which is a 3-minute drive at most) and cost more than dining in-- without being served the chips as a side. Sigh. You just can't win here. Another thing-- the inside of the restaurant is actually an eyesore. The lighting is rather dark, and they have random neon signs along the wall.

Very clean and friendly staff. Food is always good. Three stars because EVERYTIME I'm here I end up waiting for the rest of my order. Even as I sit here now waiting for the last 15 minutes for my chicken sandwich.
