The environment is nice, this is an old bar that captures the "small town" bar feeling. Great beer selection. 3 stars because we ordered a hot dog and it was a funny color and the bun was stale.

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. This bar is terrible. It is the absolute worst place I have ever been to. It's dirty, the women's bathroom door is permanently propped open, and the owner is a creepy jerk. I don't even live in this town and know the reputation. It's supposed to be the only place in town that has a DJ but I would rather sit at home than spend my money there. The owner, Mike Schultz, was more concerned with getting drunk than serving his customers. He would rather would fight and kick people out instead of dealing with minor problems. If you want to have a good time, avoid this bar at all costs.

This is a dive in the middle of Frankenmuth. From the floor to the crappy jukebox that just steals your money, it's extreme dive. They have some good beers in bottles, though. The service is ho-hum and the employees seem like they just want to party. If I was a regular that would annoy me, but I didn't care because I was from out of town. The positive is that you never see kids inside and it's definitely an adult atmosphere. People will be hammered and people watching is a premium. Worth a stop in for a beer and to see some shenanigans.

This has to be the worst bar I've ever been to and in a tourist destination that's just strange to see. We literally had to ask for menus, ask for drinks, never got served, and decided to leave but no one was actually around so I had to go in the kitchen and tell him. He seemed to not give a shit, not apologize, nothing. I would understand if they were busy, understaffed, but there were like 2 tables of people there and 3-4 people working. A Saturday night...... Give me a break. I hope they close soon and put something decent in it's place, we were not the only ones that walked out that night.

Cash only. My tall boy was a served in a plastic cup which was slightly larger than their other plastic cups. Very average. Only bar in Frankenmuth that is open past midnight. Definitely a chokehold on the late night drinking scene. If you have an idea for a bar in the area and keep it open later than midnight you'll definitely surpass this bar.

I really want to give Main Street Tavern a 4 star review but just can't overlook the shortfalls that were experienced over my Frankenmuth weekend. I really just wanted a small town dive bar to watch the World Series Playoffs, a little hockey, and maybe my Saturday night Michigan game but was a little disappointed by the tiny TV's in this bar, poor reception (not HD by far), and the one bartender servicing the entire clientele. There was one other person working or should I say on the clock, but she was worthless. Apparently she was the girlfriend of the owner. What a shame. I just sucked it up and got my pitchers of beer from the bar, it was only a short walk, more annoying if anything, especially after spending 6-8 hours walking all day. I did order some breadsticks (small) and those were pretty damn good. The small is enough for at least 4 people. I just wished they would have informed me that the kitchen was closing all but the oven only 30 minutes after asking for a menu and specifically asking if the fryers were still on. He stated that the full kitchen was available. To top all this off, my tab was over $90 and none of us in my party agreed with the amount. The pitchers must have been $15 a piece. Oh well, take this into consideration when stopping in for a late night beer, old man DJ, and order of breadsticks......PAY CASH or tag out after each order. Now taking all this into consideration, there were some good things here hence the 3 stars and not 1. The breadsticks WERE good, the beer was great (Leini's 5 year special), and I was able to accomplish what I set out to do. The place was also half a block from our Bed and Breakfast. I would recommend for late night shenanigans but that's about it. Next time I'll be trying the wings and maybe a pizza.

Best pizza and breadsticks (called Tavern Bread here) in Frankenmuth. Love the atmospere too. Don't watch sports so I didn't care about the small TV's mentioned by previous reviewer. We always stop here for pizza when in Frankenmuth

This place is a dive bar. They don't allow kids. The patrons are *ahem...colorful locals. $1.50 beers til 6:00, pickled eggs, dirty floors, dirtier bathrooms. Dive bar heaven.

If I could give negative stars, this place would earn them. Under staffed, which isn't offensive, but when women are called cunts by the screaming drunk guy who may have been the owner? Well, that's a line very much crossed. The same guy threatened a young man with a punch in the face but when this young man's friend stood up for him, they were simply ejected from the place as well. I don't think anyone less than the owner could behave that way & get away with it. NEVER spend money here.

Awesome bar. They don't allow kids so you can enjoy your drink without whining crying kids. Prices are good especially with how many micro brews they carry. And they don't put up with stupid, so you don't have too either. Good damn bar

Pro: Great bar. Con: Disgusting bathroom. Pro: Nice front porch. Con: Obnoxious Oktoberfest patrons (myself included). Pro: Stiff drinks. Con: I don't know, I blacked out.

I will never go back to this place. The owner is rude and he does not know how to treat his customers. I have been here on 2 separate occasions and each time the owner was arguing with a customer in a disrespectful manner. The owner even called one of the women he was arguing with a "bi#ch" when I was there. This is not a way to run a business and it made me very uncomfortable and I was only a bystander. I will not be going back to a place with such a hostile environment.

Wish there was an option to give negative stars.. This bar has by far the most rude staff I have ever come in contact with. I have heard multiple stories of customers being kicked out and banned from this bar only because of the stubbornness and ignorance of the owner. He has no problem kicking anyone out for the simplest offense. They do not let anyone under 21 in at any time of the afternoon, even if you are only there to eat. Their pizza is okay, I will give them that. However the atmosphere is dirty, staff is mean, and the rest of the food is nothing special. I will never go back to this establishment and recommend others to do the same.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This is the only bar in downtown Frankenmuth that stays open until 2 am, the ONE pro this establishment possesses. The owner however should not be in customer service. The countless stories I have heard and experienced myself regarding the owner completely disrespecting his patrons is enough to result in me never returning. When you choose to own and run a bar there are many things that come along with the territory on a nightly basis that you must deal with. This man has no regard for others or respect for his customers. A business cannot continue to be run this way. In addition, there are no decent size TV's to watch sports and they do not have any sports channels.
