Truly authentic cuisine made fresh while you wait. It's never frozen waiting for your order but made to your order. By far one of the most outstanding restaurants I have ever experience in my life. I recommend this restaurant highly. The owners are friendly eager to please and a fresh face in Frankenmuth. Truly a pleasure to get to know them. I can't say enough about the food the location and the people truly a great experience.
Very underwhelming lunch with a plethora of issues from the kitchen and the clearly incompetent server. Six of us ordered the following: a quiche, alpine burger, and four salads (one "special," the rest "healthy." 1) Quiche issues: was to come with a side salad or fruit. I was never asked by the server, and got salad instead of the fruit that I wanted. My bad on that - but she never asked. 2) Burger issues: bland, dry, clearly not a half pound as promised. 3) Salad issues: three identical salads got completely different dressings. Also, they were to come with bread, which was not brought out until we requested it. Even then, four small slices of bread and one serving of butter is not enough for four people. The server brought more bread, but no butter! My girlfriend's salad was delivered five minutes after everyone else's, and also ordered without mushrooms, which of course came on the salad. I was done before she started eating. 4) Server issues: lots and lots of mistakes, not a single apology. Not one. She did a terrible job. 5) The cook then came out to apologize and see how the food was, but barely apologized at all - it bordered on her arguing with us, but didn't get bad. 6) The shop/museum is closed during dining hours. Incredibly stupid idea, management! We wanted to look but were not wiling to wait an extra hour. In summary, we had awful service but decent, overpriced food.
This is the best pasta I've had since we visited Europe. The service was good. We both ordered pasta dishes salmon and carbonera, which they make from scratch, so it takes a bit longer. But so worth it! Wonderful music coming from pianist throughout our meal. The tiramisu was yummy to finish off the meal.

Our stay at this bed-and-breakfast was like staying at your ideal, Americana, favorite grandparents house. But not musty or outdated. :) Excellent room, clean, nice decor, many amenities and very friendly/ welcoming hosts. Our room was very spacious and sleeps three people comfortably. We had our own half-bath in the room. At first, the room was pretty stuffy because it was in an upstairs bungalow area. But Louie fixed that very quickly and turned on the air conditioning for us. The room was very comfortable after he did that. There were complementary fuzzy robes for use, which were a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable. We also had a complementary service area with a refrigerator, microwave etc. in the hallway. There is a shared shower down in the basement. It's a one person bathroom. We were the only guests there that evening, so it worked out fine. But if all of their rooms were full, I would see where it might be a slight inconvenience to be sharing one shower amongst all the rooms. Louie and Cathy were wonderful. When he arrived, they had complimentary appetizers, sweets and wine. They socialized with us for a while, and gave us some good tips on the area. The homemade breakfast they made us in the morning was excellent! Fresh fruit salad, homemade zucchini spice waffles, homemade muffins, homemade preserves, and sausages from the infamous Kearns sausage company on Main Street in Frankenmuth.

The food is good. Service is friendly. Could be speedier, but overall they do OK. The food is really good.
Ok- so we tried this due to the 4.5 star review...not accurate at all. I would probably give it a 3 star- but we need to get this 4.5 star ranking outta here. Here's a detailed review of why: Greeting- um, no- the bartender didn't even look up at us and I finally had to ask if we could sit anywhere. Once we sat down it took for-evah for him to come over- and i ended up getting our own menus. Actually- I had to get up and get my own napkins and straws as well. Cleanliness- had to wipe my own table with a wet wipe from my purse. Food- chips- good, guac- pretty bad- I admit I'm a bit of a guac snob- but for like $6 for a tiny salsa bowl sized portion- skip it. Very one note, not seasoned well and certainly overpriced. Tacos- fish and chicken- pretty fantastic- 4 star, shrimp- bleh- only 1-2 stars.
Decided to try something other than the chicken dinners in Frankenmuth, found this place on Yelp & decided to try it out. Cute little restaurant with quick service & authentic Mexican music playing. You are served chips & salsa right away. I found the chips a little think & the salsa was a little spicy but very bland. I decided to order the Tin Roof Tacos based on other reviews on here. The portions you get here are worth the money but I was again disappointed in the blandness of the food. The beef tacos just didn't have any flavor nor did the refried beans. I did think the Spanish rice was good & had good flavor. I'm such a fan of Mexican food so was disappointed that this place wasn't as good as I expected...probably should have just gone with the chicken dinners.

Cute little cafe located on the main drag through town, but the service is terribly slow. The food is okay, nothing to rave about, but the ambiance is cute and they have some additional out-of-the-way seating in back. Nonetheless, the lines to order and pick up your food tend to bottleneck, serious miscommunication transpires and orders get screwed up. I've eaten here a few times now and if they're at least half-full, then food and drink orders start to get screwed up and the staff gets bogged down, lost in the weeds. If they fixed that problem, it would be a lot better. At any rate, they make a good latte. My husband had a decent club sandwich, but halfway through eating, it started falling apart. The french fries were tasty enough, though, but probably frozen. The last time we stopped in here, I had a sandwich that was adequate, but utterly forgettable. Prices are what one would expect of any restaurant located in the Frankenmuth area- i.e. not as cheap as elsewhere for the same exact thing.
My family and I decided to have a late lunch here based on the recommendation of the nice lady at the Wine Shop. I've been to Frankenmuth a few times over the years but I don't recall ever dining here. It is a small eatery with seating spread throughout from the front to the back. This is the type of place where you seat yourself and you go up to the cashier to place and pay for your order (no table service). As a result, the prices are still fairly inexpensive. It sill has that old time mom-and-pop feel to it. I think that the art work on the walls is a nice creative and modern touch. One additional bonus is that they offer free wi-fi for patrons. Even though I was in the Kaffee House on a chilly day, I skipped the cup of joe and went straight for the Turkey Club Panini. I had asked for the Thai dressing on the side because I wasn't sure that I would like it. Well, it came on the sandwich and not on the side. Much to my surprise, the thai dressing was good ergo my panini was delish. I would definitely order that again. My first experience here was a good one so I'd definitely come back. However, I'm still on the fence about whether or not to try the kaffee...
It's the first coffee house in alllll of Frankenmuth! The prices are reasonable but the menu is so big, the husband and I stood there and just looked like, ummm. Wow. The cashier gave us a brief history while we waited/looked. While we weren't very hungry, we wanted something in our stomachs before we went wine tastings since we stayed overnight and had skipped breakfast at the hotel. So the Lady at the counter helped us. We ended up ordered the Fan favorite, since she said was large enough to split if we were looking to eat. Plus the place was right across the street from Funships which is where we were going. The fan favorite was made of turkey, it was large enough that we were both full, and it came with waffle fries which seemed like they were home made (i made fun that the it seemed like it was one potato because i could piece it together) It came with a Pop like a combo, but we wanted coffees so she gave us a coffee in place, and we ordered another, It was never ending coffee, and I put that to good use. The coffee quality was GREAT! and they had flavored creamers, and even syrups if you wanted to go that far. It's important to note that the coffee bold and light roasts were imported also, i dont remember where the cashier said they were from. But wee spent 11 dollars total. Not bad.

This place know how to put an awesome variety on a pizza, good craft beer selections also !
Good pizza and sandwiches for a reasonable price. Located right on Main Street, it's a happening place in Frankenmuth, especially during Auto Fest weekend. If you want to check it out, do so during the week. It's not quite as crowded.
Great bar and grill if u want to go somewhere besides Zenders and Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, Mi. The waiter was highly entertaining and the food was great. They have a great choice of beers especially Michigan home brews. They had Founders and Bells. Yayyyyy

Had such high hopes for this Smokehaus ~ complete disappointment.... Ribs were flavorless, brisket was as dry as shoe leather, chicken was dry and NEEDED bbq sauce. The waitress said how good the mac n cheese was ~ kraft mac n cheese is better?! Corn bread (or Johnny cake) was horrible and had a bad after taste..... epic fail!! On a positive note the fish & chips special was good (what's wrong with this though? Good fish & chips at a bbq smokehaus).... too bad it wasnt the pork that was delicious? Price was a little high for the amount of food you got but not outragious. No return visits for us :(
When I heard a smokehouse opened up near me I knew I had to go. I grew up in the south so a good slow smoked brisket is something that excites me (LOL.) My husband and I went for lunch and we both had the 3 meat platter. It was rather pricey for the amount of meat you get. So that part was disappointing. However, their mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, brisket, chicken wings and Andouille sausage were pretty tasty. The brisket wasn't the best I had, but they did have some amazing house sauces that really were yum and brought out the smoked flavor of the meat. Oh and lets not forget the sweet corn bread aka Johnny Cake. It was delish and I was sad when I reached the end of the basket! I've heard people raving about this place and the nightlife there. Maybe I'll go ahead and check out some jazz bands. This used to be an Irish pub, you can feel a little bit of that inside as it seems Slo Bones is still remodeling.
We visited right after opening on Sunday. It was clean and pleasant except for the initial smell of chlorine bleach the permeated the restaurant, however I believe that it was only from the dishwashers. We came in with a party of 6, so their was enough to try all of the meat items along with an order Nachos. The service was good, but it just didn't make up for the average food. While flavorful most of the meat was dry and the nachos being baked were also different. I found them crisp and pleasant, buy half felt that they were without flavor.

I travel for work and eat alone often. The burger was very good. The IPA was average. The service was, at best, indifferent. I tended bar in college( early 70s). I never tip 0 and usually 25-30%. My server was over paid. I left $1. Bottom line: I went out of my way to visit here- it will be my final one. Service matters. There are many other good choices in Michigan.
Would have been nice if the waitress had cleared the plates, but other than that...loved the Ruben eggrolls, potato skins seemed to have almost like velveeta cheese (ie the kind that comes out of the mac n cheese box) but still super yummy! Shrimp plate is great, but the onion rings weren't the best (: Really good service other than the not clearing plates!
We ordered Kern's sampler which is a nice variety of local meats. It would have been nice to know a decription of the meats prior to ordering as one of them was spicy and I don't tolerate spice well. Otherwise the meat and mustard were well balanced. We also ordered the 12" chicken cordon bleu pizza. It was filling and pretty good for not being a pizza place. This was a nice casual restaurant, but the entrees are a bit over priced. I would also suggest adding their non-alcoholic drinks to their menu.

I thought the service was very good. We had 5 people and a 2 year old and a baby. The waitress brought out the two year olds food early because we had a deep dish pizza that took time to cook, every waitress should do that when little kids are involved,. Or at least ask if they would like the food to come out first for the kiddos. We were able to get her eating before our food came. Nice work on that! For what we ordered I thought the bill was a little price. Our bill was $100, add a nice tip and now you are up to $120. That is what we could have paid for steak dinners. The Stromboli was good, but I got onions on it and they needed to cook longer, and the crust was good but the dipping sauce was awful and didn't have very good taste hardly any flavor. My wife got the fish and she enjoyed it. My father in law got the antipasto salad and he said it had way too much cheese for his liking. My brother in law and sister in law got a deep dish pizza that they enjoyed. It came out fairly quick for deep dish as well. Another thing that my wife and I noticed was neither bathroom had a changing table for babies. I have issues with this, because the wall hanging changing tables are not expensive and both men's rooms and ladies rooms need them in every restaurant. It aggravates me when men's rooms don't have them when I need to change my kids. We ended up changing our baby in the front seat of the car on a cold night, and that is not fun. This looks like a family restaurant so they should have them, they should call Gordon's food service and order two and get them installed ASAP.
The food is all frozen...Way over priced...Back in the day when it was in the old mall it was the only place to eat in Frankenmuth...Not anymore!!!
Frankenmuth doesn't appear to have an overwhelming amount of choices for breakfast but this little gem serves a nice menu selection. The staff is nice and the meal was good. The place doesn't scream from the outside to come in for breakfast, but we were pleased that we stopped in.

I have to admit that their indoor decoration is not that satisfactory but actually they do have some good dishes and of course friendly service. I came to visit Frankenmuth with my family who just came to America a couple of weeks ago and they still miss Chinese food so we decided to try this place. We ordered beef&broccoli, beef fried rice and a pork dish (sorry I forgot the name ;P). And they offered Egg Drop Soup and Wonton soup for dine-in customers. All of my family (including me) loved the beef fried rice: very tender beef, just right saltiness and not oily. My parents even thought the fried rice tasted just as delicious as that we had back in China. I personally prefer their beef and broccoli because I love eating white rice with the tasty sauce and tender beef. We spent approximately $24 in total, which was fairly reasonable. As for the service, the old lady was really friendly and she was always talkative. The waiter guy was a little shy, but he was still nice and patient enough even though we asked for more chilly sauce for many times! lol This place I think is good for Chinese food if you are not used to the German food that you can find at the most restaurants in this town. Try it and I think you can enjoy yourself here~ (^_^)
Located next to the 7-11 store, this tiny 15-top restaurant was deserted when we arrived on a Saturday night at 6:30, except for three tables on dirty dishes. We were greeted by a rather quiet young man who quickly brought us our drinks, then disappeared around the corner to where a woman had been screaming since we arrived - a obviously mad, angry woman, who appeared to be barking out cooking instructions to someone else in the kitchen. This went on for the entire time we sat at our table. As we waited for our soups, a handful of folks in cut-off shorts and wife-beater shirts came in to pick up their take out orders, so the locals are obviously frequenting the place. The wonton soup was simply chicken broth with a lone noodle sitting, rather lifeless, in the bottom. The egg drop soup was the exact same chicken broth, but with a light swirl of scrambled egg whites floating in the pee-stained bowls. Both were absolutely flavorless, except for the immediate salt-lick kick of sodium. My Orange Chicken was the typical cornstarch-slurried fried chicken cutlet, which appeared to have been previously poached in orange juice (?), pounded thin, deep fried in the wok and sent to the table bathed in thick, orange syrup akin to something you would pour on pancakes at iHop. The chicken had also been cut into dice-sized, perfectly-portioned pieces, obviously by a knife-savvy kitchen ninja. The wife's Shrimp Egg Foo Yung featured two medium-sized shrimp, a half pound of bean threads, and a flavorless, gloppy brown sauce, piled up so high on the plastic, three-sectioned plate is was dripping on the floor all the way from the kitchen to the table. Both of our entrees were served with brown fried rice -dolloped out with an ice cream scoop- and a small, but rather pleasant-tasting egg roll. Just an aside, ask for a handful of take-out packets of duck sauce and Chinese mustard, even if you are dining in - it appears the bottled sauces on the tables have been watered down - wayyyyyy down. To the consistency of, how do you say, "water"? Two combination plates with soup, fried rice, an egg roll and drinks came out to less than $20.
Don't let the outside scare you away. Very nice ppl. The owners were very sweet and smiley! They even recognized me the second time going in. Doesnt look like much at all, but, the food is fast and pretty decent. They even have all u can eat with 1 entree, eggroll, crab cheese and soup for 6.99 for lunch and 8.99 for dinner! Will def. drive from birch run to eat here.
