I'm not sure what's up with the poor reviews here, but we had a perfectly fine time here tonight after a long day of dunes and river floating. I'd give it 3 1/2 if I could, but I'll go with 4 stars to offset the low current rating. Village was open until 11, and since we didn't get off the river until 9 and were operating in a west coast timezone (3 hours different), this was great. We had a pizza with some fantastic sausage and a great NY style crust. Waitresses were friendly, and the whole place had a small town late night feel. Tried the local special of Smelt (small fried fish) and it was great too. Now I'll agree many other items seemed overpriced, like $20 nachos, but the pizza was fantastic and reasonably priced. So I guess come for the pizza, good hours, good beer selection, and accept the cost of resort town pricing for the other stuff!

I am shocked this place has such poor reviews. My family and I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience! Their pizza is amazing and huge, the wings are very tasty (our favorite app) and they have a great selection of local and nationally distributed beers to boot! A little something for everyone. It's probably best for my health I live 10hrs away or I'd be here at least 1x a week. You've gotta stop in if you are in the area!

Very delicious pizza and helpful service. We ordered in and as our dog was with us, we were able to eat at the picnic tables next door outside Gemma's. Wasn't a huge fan of their hot wings but loved their pizza. The crust was crispy, the sauce tasty and they were liberal with their toppings. Very much recommend this place

Spent $55 on food and the pizza crust and bread was burnt and they wouldn't refund us. Not worth it

I've been here many times and have always loved the pizza and wings. But this year prices have skyrocketed and the food (or atmosphere) is definitely not worth the money. My $7 wedge salad consisted of 1/8 of an ice burg lettuce head, less than 1 underline tomato, and 2 pieces of bacon. $7 for something that would have cost them less than a dollar to make. To say the least, very disappointed that such an established place has such ridiculous prices. I really hope they do something about the bathrooms too.... They're gross.

We have been coming here for years. Its not the most up to date bar and restaurant, but we have always had great meals and service. Plus its our go to place for pizza too, so good! I have an obsession with the "22" sandwich. Parmesan bread, ham, white cheddar, asparagus......its my fave. I tried the chili for the first time this past week and it was really tasty too. There really are no healthy options, but I don't mind. Yes - the prices have gone up quite a bit over the years - but as long as the food is good, I don't mind paying extra so that is never an issue for me, personally. They have some really great beers on tap too.

The hubs and I stopped here for a drink while we figured out how to navigate the dunes on the west side of the state. We ordered one of the signature cocktails and were pleased! Staff was quick and friendly. I'm a big fan of local bars or the hole in the wall types, but this place had a very questionable restroom......

Horrible experience. We decided to come here on our way back from Northbar. The menu was very lackluster so I decided to order the chicken tenders. Before placing my order I asked how many came with and the waitress said 5 or 6 and showed me using her hand how big they were. My friends then ordered pizza and got "flavored crust" while another friend got a burger meal with coffee. As time passed the waitress never brought coffee and didn't check on us so my friend told her to forget it. Finally the food came. The waitress handed me a basket with 4 tiny chicken tenders!? I was appalled and felt like I got ripped off and was lied to. $10+ for only 4!? Mind you this included no side or any fries! In addition the crust on my friends pizza had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Overall I would never eat at this place again or recommend it to anyone. It's overpriced and the service is poor.

Good pizza cold beer.... Nice pit stop. This place is super close to the sleeping bear dunes and a friendly place to grab a bite after a long day at the national lakeshore.

Went here on way to dunes after kayak trip on platte river. Not much around to choose from and this appeared to be the last option before getting into the park. Pleasantly surprised with the pizza. Good pizza and clean joint.

Horrible experience. Called in advance to ask about bringing small dog, were told "no problem, it's pretty slow tonight anyway" walked 30 mins to restaurant with family, only to be yelled at by staff for bringing dog. Very unfriendly. Better go to Joe's friendly tavern- MUCH better service and amazing food!

Awful food. The meatballs were tough and tasted like dog food. The grilled chicken pieces in my salad were as hard as croutons. Will not be wasting my money here again.

Had a solid lunch here. Meatballs (appetizer) were tasty, homemade bread was awesome. Salad with chicken and black cherry dressing was a winner. Beer and wine selection were good. Service was very friendly.

Wow! Pizza was great. Was a little spot seems like in the middle of no where. Like everything outside was so quiet and polished. Then u stepped inside this little dinning room bar and it was lively. The waitress was great. Offered sample of there sodas. If ever I am back I will visit again.

Had a reasonably priced dinner with my 2 boys and the food was hot and the service was fast. Nice beer selections and homemade soda. Friendly faces and a nice environment. Ice cream next door was a great treat after a day at the beach. Bathroom needed cleaning was the only negative but overall a great place to get some food before a drive to the dunes or back to TC.

Food was mediocre. Pasta served in bland sauce. Small salad was expensive and uninspired.
