I found out about Rubbed through an article a friend posted on Facebook about some of Detroit's new brunch places. I saw the Fruit Waffle being featured in the article and I have no choice but to try it. It. was. perfect. Fluffy waffle, fresh bananas, and just enough cheesecake whipped cream so that there would be some whipped cream with every bite. My favorite part is that it's not too sweet. It would probably be too sweet if it was served with syrup, but it wasn't, and it was just right. The hash browns were way too expensive for the portion size, and way too bland and overdone. It seems the restaurant still has a lot to work on as far as becoming a restaurant that has table service, but I'm willing to go back for the sandwiches at a later date when it's more developed. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:45am on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all, but within half an hour, there were people waiting for seats.

Great lunch spot in Cork Town! I had the purple kid, which was delicious. It was a turkey, beet, and guyeure sandwich. Best part was that they serve the classic coco cola in a glass bottle. Interior is eclectic and staff is friendly. Cannot wait to go back!!!

Holy cow this place is AMAZING!!!! I stopped by last week while I was in Detroit visiting family and had the most amazing sandwich: the Yooper! Smoked whitefish with veggies on a roll- Sooooooo Tasty! Great work Rubbed. It was a hard choice because all their sandwiches looked so good but I used to live in the UP and couldn't say no to a smoked whitefish sandwich- it was a great call. Additionally, the staff was incredibly enthusiastic, friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. The general vibe of the place was warm, fun and welcoming. The city print with a sloth climbing the building was my favorite. Lastly, I have to give a shout out to the apple water- it was delicious. Instead of cucumbers or lemon in their water, they had apples and it was a unique fun twist. I am a fan! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Detroit! Keep doing what you're doing Rubbed :)

Discovered this place driving by Slow's. You can hardly see the sign at night, but we decided to stop in. It's a simple shop, a few tables, "vintage" mismatched chairs and a single counter in the back to place orders. Other patrons were of the hipster crowd, bearded fellas head to toe in Urban Outfitters. Service was very friendly, but there was only 1 person making sandwiches so it was kind of slow to get our food, but it was delicious. I had the Italian. The bread was fresh and the quality and portions of meat were very good! This was also my first time trying ginger beer and it was like drinking a carbonated ginger snap, which is delicious! I was initially turned off by the cost of the entire bill, but we ordered 2 sammies ($12/10) and 2 sodas, each $2. I'm just cheap. They do have free citrus/mint water too. I'm just cheap, but it's definitely well worth it! They also serve a charcuterie which looked yummy. I think it was ~$27-37??? But I need bread, I like my carbs.

Rubbed Sandwich and Charcuterie Shop . IS GOOD. . I went there recently with some dear friends. The service was totally personal and caring. The food was good to better good. What impressed me the most was they tried to give you good service and food. The Charcuterie plate was great. I had to go out to my car with my friends to drink wine because they don't have a wine license. That is a problem. I have never been to a Charcuterie before without wine. However even with that it is a favorite place of mine. I highly suggest it. Tt is worth the effort to hang out here. They deserve our support for effort and follow through. Cool place . Counter service was very friendly and informative (our first visit)....unfortunately, the charcuterie plate I ordered as my lunch didn't come out until everyone else was almost done with their sandwiches (otherwise, I would have given 5 stars). However, once it did come out, it was delicious! My husband and two sons had nothing but wonderful things to say about their sandwiches and the selection of drinks was fun! I had the Cashew Bisque (soup of the day) and it was creamy, flavorful and had a little spice! Will definitely go again when we are in the area.

Came across this sandwich shop just riding my bicycle by randomly. The staff is awesome and friendly. The sandwiches are a bit expensive (mudgies prices) but are huge and totally worth it. This place makes love deli sandwiches now.

Wheels down at DTW, and we were anxiously heading home to Detroit to see our apartment, pets & friends... and we wanted to grab some awesome takeout to run home with. Rubbed immediately came to mind.. we had been wanting to try the place. We had a wonderful experience .. The atmosphere was hip & chill. Comforting smoked meats in the atmosphere, with a very lovely staff & happy looking patrons. Simple ordering system with one of those iPad things. Cool Club, $10: smoked turkey, bacon-herb spread, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber... ENORMOUS SANDWICH.. I still have 1/3rd left in my frig the next day... By far the best smoked turkey breast I've ever had. Luscious, moist and sliced paper thin... It's the kind of things dreams are made of. The cream-cheesy bacon spread was da bomb.. alongside thin sharp bite of cheddar with cool & crisp lettuce, tomato and cucumber slices. Freaking awesome. Little Italy, $10: capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, banana peppers, mayo. Embodied the classic kind of sub my coworkers and I would actually run and get IN Little Italy in NYC where I hail from (w/exception of bread.. but it's not a bad thing). The meat is off the hook (see what I did there?) .. and every bite is a mayo-packed, banana pepper-punched piece of italian meat heaven. The Bread. As a big fan of Second Avenue Deli in Royal Oak, they seem to have the same incredible fluffy but chewy, glossy topped bread that I love. (who knows if they use the same source).. These buns are intense though- very very big. Many might argue it's too much bread. But for gluten-full dieters, it's a really happy highlight. Add the availability of Dilla's Delights, Zapp's Honey Mustard chips & delicious sodas (San Pellegrino Melograno E Arancia (Pomegranate & Orange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - and we're extremely happy campers here. Packaging was neat and clean- no leaky sandwiches. Lots of napkins (needed). Lots of love. Bravo RUBBED! You have fulfilled - maybe exceeded- our expectations. And they were pretty high :) *Check out sweet meat cookbook collage wallpaper in bathroom. I think this might need to happen in a special room in my home one day.

Great new find in Detroit! I got wind of this place from an article in the thrilling. Typically Mudgies is my go to place but we decided to give this place a try. They also had a nice charcuterie menu. We got the sausage charcuterie, the purple kid and the Italian. Of note, they can make any of the cold sandwiches into a panini which I highly recommend! The sausage charcuterie was served with olive oil laced bread and goat cheese. Very flavorful and the presentation was quite pretty. We initially got the purple kid cold, which wasn't the best since the bread was so big, so we switched the second half of it to a panini. The Italian sandwich was the perfect blend of meat and melted cheese. The sandwiches are quite large, so we each took a half sandwich home. We then got the Elvis pastry ( a blend of peanut butter, bacon, and bananas) for dessert, which was the perfect topping. The sandwiches are a little bit pricey since they come with no sides. Will come back, but maybe not too frequently.

I was so excited that Detroit finally has a sandwich shop that served roast beef, not corned beef. I got the Beefcake sandwich at Rubbed and was so disappointed. The roast beef was well done, and thickly sliced. It had grisly parts to it. I also got the Beet Radicchio Slaw and was surprised by how bland it was. It was literally just radicchio and slivers of beets, with perhaps a dash of vinegar. The rest of my party was ok with their sandwiches, but when something like the Eastsider lists four kinds of meat, two kinds of cheeses, and four vegetables, you would think it would be large and full of flavor. This sandwich was mostly bread. We were also disappointed that their website says they deliver to the Boston-Edison neighborhood but we were told they were discontinuing this. The staff was very nice and they did deliver for us, but told us that it would be the last time.

My wife and I stopped into Rubbed for the first time today for a quick bite on our drive home from the market. Rubbed had been featured on a list of top Detroit brunch spots. One of the items that had been noted was a Belgian waffle with some type of banana topping. That had appealed to me, so we headed there to see if it made our personal list of top brunch spots. The decor was nice and it was very clean. I was disappointed that the waffle that had lured us there was not on the menu. It was also disappointing that there was no alcohol. For me, a top brunch spot has to have a great Bloody Mary, or at least a mimosa. Also, you order at the counter and your meal is brought to your table. Not really "brunch-y". We each ordered a sandwich and a bottle of coca-cola. Our total was $28. Rather pricey for 2 sandwiches and sodas. I had the Fresh to Death sandwich. The bread was excellent, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato, and balsamic vinaigrette are a pretty standard pairing, but something about the flavor of the vinaigrette and the great bread, made it tastier than usual. I really enjoyed my sandwich and the portion was large enough that I had half to take home. It was kind of confusing after finishing our meal as to how to go about clearing our table and where to place trash. It would have been helpful when our meal was brought to the table if we had been told where forks and napkins could be found and where to place trash after eating. I felt a little awkward looking around after eating, not quite sure on the protocol. All in all, I would return for a sandwich to go. For lunch. Not brunch.

I visited Rubbed a couple weeks ago for my lunch hour. I ordered the Little Italy. It was very good but way over priced for what you get. $10 for the sandwich not including chips or a beverage. However, they did offer cucumber infused water which a nice touch. The price of the sandwich was not the only downfall. The appearance of the employee making the food was very unprofessional and distasteful. She was wearing a tank top with unshaven armpits. Now, I'm all for personal hygiene being a personal choice, but it doesn't apply when you work in the food service industry. Wearing a t-shirt with sleeves would have been just fine. It's the same concept as wearing hair nets or hats when you prepare food. I won't be returning.

Very good, simple sandwiches. I stopped here for lunch on a Friday at about 1pm, so after a lunch rush. I had a roast beef and cheddar sandwich. The roast beef was homemade and absolutely fantastic. I'm not one for a bunch of junk on my sandwiches, so this place was perfect! I will return - looking forward to trying one of their charcuterie plates!

I ordered the Cool Club and the Redskin Dill salad. The sandwich was great and huge. The bacon herb spread and turkey bread is so good. The salad was ok.

This place is cool. I love the funky tables and chairs, canned stuff, fresh flowers, water with fruit slices in it, army guys and giant sloth print that I would really like for my house. Also, the delicious delicious food is pretty cool too. The bread was fluffy and French and all around wonderful.

There is really nothing I can complain about when it comes to Rubbed. I have eaten there 2 times now. Once delivery, and once dining in. Service was quick as was the delivery. They will deliver almost anywhere in the city and have great hours for being in corktown where restaurant hours can get querky. Relatively limited seating inside but they do have a couple of outside tables as well. I have gotten the east Sider twice now because I am a creature of habit. I would highly recommend it grilled, the bread becomes perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside so it doesn't become soggy even after delivery. Huge portion even though it is a bit steep on the price ($12). Will try something different next time. Also I have heard great things about their brunch on Saturday and Sunday 11-5, I will be back for that. Overall: for a city without a ton of great sandwich shops, this is a great addition and a nice option for a hearty lunch whether you're too hungover to get out of bed or want to bring visitors or the rents out in Corktown.

I really wanted to like Rubbed. I really did! I still do. Even after my experience I am still open to trying something else from the menu. Perhaps my experience was a fluke. I stopped in late afternoon last week and ordered the Smash & Bang to go. The staff was friendly enough and there was no one else there. The sandwich was prepared in a timely manner, and I was on my way. I biked home and opened up my sandwich about 15 minutes later (nice presentation btw) and was extremely disappointed. It had somehow gotten extremely soggy, cold, and mushy in the brief trip. I was underwhelmed by the flavor, especially the mushrooms. I tried to eat as much as I could, but ended up tossing half of it. As others have noted, Rubbed is a bit more expensive than other sandwiches in the area which would be perfectly fine if there was some sort of reason of perhaps it's farm to table, etc. but there seems to be no real specialty there. As previously stated, I would be willing to try another option and dine in. Maybe it's on me for traveling with the sandwich but on their website it's noted they deliver and estimate 30-45 minutes, so a 15 minute wait really shouldn't have affected the flavor and quality as much as it did. One thing that they're doing right is having more than 1 veggie sandwich option, so here's to hoping the other 2 are a bit tastier!!

Went on Sunday for brunch after my companion heard about their waffle special. The place was nice and cozy, with a welcoming feel. It's not very big, which isn't a bad thing. You can see into the kitchen, which reinforced the idea that the place is clean and well-run. I would have liked chocolate milk, but they said they don't have milk (strange for a brunch location). I went with water instead. I ordered the potatoes and egg special: butter scrambled eggs, sweet + red skin hash, lavender honey, thyme. The server informed me that they were out of sweet potatoes, so the "hash" would only have red skins. No big deal. I added, upon the waitress' suggestion, the lamb + pork sausage. The butter scrambled eggs were really, really good. They were soft and a tiny bit runny, which I really love, and the buttery flavor came through strong. The potatoes were the biggest miss of the meal. I found no evidence of lavender honey nor thyme - it was some fried cubes of red skin potato with absolutely no flavor. There were no salt and pepper shakers in the restaurant, so I waited at the cashier station for awhile before I found a cook who was kind enough to pour some salt and pepper into a small plastic container so that I could pinch it out onto those bland potatoes. Note: these potatoes looked exactly the same as my companion's $3 side "hash browns" both in flavor, quantity, and (lack of) taste. The lamb sausage was delicious, albeit a bit dry. I really loved the combination of flavors, and it was incredibly full of savory goodness. If it had been cooked a tiny bit less it would have been superstar caliber. I think my companion's waffles with banana and caramel might have been a better choice to let this place's uniqueness shine, but I was in the mood for savory instead of sweet, so I feel like I missed the train on that one. The other misses were more intangible and I think they were a result of this place not usually having table service. My water wasn't refilled the whole meal, and I didn't realize until most of the way through that there was a self-service plastic cup water station off in a corner, even though our first waters were poured by our server with a pitcher into glasses. There wasn't silverware at my table to begin with, nor was it delivered with our meals - it came later. The server was nice, friendly, and helpful, but the place was full with a wait by the time we were done and she appeared to be the only one working the floor, so I think she was a bit overwhelmed. I don't want to be too hard on Rubbed after trying a relatively new brunch menu, so I'd like to go back at lunchtime or in the evening to try their sandwiches and compare them to the formidable competition just a few short blocks away.

Wow... Wow... Wow!!!! Now I have not one but TWO awesome sandwich selections in Corktown! Rubbed is so totally yummy and delicious, I'm still dreaming of their bread and I ate there a week ago!!! So the decor is very hip, bright and fresh! Love the blue color exterior! And the staff is so knowledgable and really like to explain the different meats, cheeses, and want you to have a great experience. I decided to get the little italy sandwich. It's made with capicola, pepperoni, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, red onion, banana peppers and mayo. Dang! Best sandwich ever! Mudgies, as much as I love you- ya better watch out because rubbed may give you a run for your money!

Overall a really nice sandwich shop. There were some pluses and minuses but both my wife and I would come back if the opportunity arose. Here is the Breakdown: + Ingredients were of high quality. The food tasted great! + Place was very clean + Staff are friendly + Free cucumber infused water. - A little on the expensive side for lunch. $10-ish for a sandwich with no sides. - Too far to walk if you work downtown. - Panini was over-toasted turning my mouth into a cut-factory. Some other notes: The storefront is easy to miss. I got a gift card for Rubbed and was shocked to realize that I had been driving past it for months without even realizing it was there. With poor signage out front its easy to miss. The tables and chairs have a very vintage feel, but overall were not very comfortable. Better seating would do this place wonders. Parking was hard to find. We ended up parking on a residential street a block away. Loved the selection of sandwiches and sides. It was a good mix of familiar stuff with things that appealed to the more adventurous. My wife was already talking about coming back at the end of the meal but we both agreed two things that will limit the frequency of our visits is having to drive there (taking more lunch time) and the cost of the meal compared to other lunch time fare.

This is a corktown favorite offering up the most delish sandwiches. They have great offerings for vegetarians as well and cute decor. I have been here twice now and cannot wait to get back.

Woohoo glad I had the chance to try this sandwich place out!! I'm not a fan of vegetables, so I wasn't too excited to see the cool club sandwich I order stuffed with veggies.. But it tasted great. The bread was reminded me of the baguette you use for a Vietnamese banh mi (except the outside wasn't crispy bc it wasn't toasted). Highly recommend the club sandwich. Pros: -huge portions -free spa water! When I went, it was grapefruit cucumber water -they have (I think) Mexican coke.. you know the sodas that come in a bottle and are made with sugar -tasty sandwiches -they offer chips (yum!), some sides, and desserts too I think -nice service Cons: -kinda pricy. Wish they offered a smaller portion size for cheaper. And/or that they automatically cut their sandwiches in half bc I didn't know how big it'd be. -I wish my sandwich bread was toasted! I'm not sure if that's an option. -I also wish they had bacon but that's only bc I like bacon in everything! -parking is hard to find -limited seating esp during lunch time After my lunch, I drove back to school and told all my friends about it.. It's that good! Def come check this place out!!

Stopped by for dinner on a Monday after a suggestion from a friend of a new place in Corktown. The menu is really interesting, the inside of the restaurant is inviting and the staff was super friendly. These things in combination lead me to really high expectations for a great sandwich. Dont get me wrong, my sandwich was good, but not completely worth the hefty price tag. The bread and veggies were nothing special, and made it feel like a slightly up-scale Jimmy Johns sub with more creative ingredients. Im not opposed to going back if im in the neighborhood, but its not likely going to be my "dinner destination" again.

I've been going to Rubbed at least two times a week since they opened and I ADORE everything about it! I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet ( and I'm a VERY picky eater! ) I've discovered if you get a panini to go it will most likely be a bit soggy and cold when you get to your destination even if you are not traveling far so I definitely recommend the signature sandwiches if you are getting a carry out but I'm a straight sucker for the Purple Kid and the Deveiled eggs :] ! The beet coleslaw is to die for and the bread is fresh from Italia Bakery and I swear I could probably eat a whole loaf if they'd let me! Oh, and did I mention they sell Dilla's delights!? If you haven't tried the Lemon Glazed donut you are missin' out! On top of the food being nothing short of delicious the staff is always SO knowledgeable and magically friendly they make you want to stay there all day chatting about everything under the sun and last but not least the atmosphere is ridiculously CUTE! Shelves of hand pickled cabbage, and beets. Adorable little hand written quotes in little frames and of course a huge canvas of what I call Slothzilla makes me feel right at home! 5 stars!

I don't want to be a little dark rain cloud. I was excited to try Rubbed. And, why not? 1. It has 4.5 stars on Yelp. 2. I have a soft spot for Corktown entrepreneurs. 3. They put popcorn on their charcuterie boards! There is absolutely nothing about the food we experienced that would inspire me to return. The ingredients were not fresh or flavorful, nothing special like artisanal meats or cheeses. The presentation is boring. The salad greens were the dried-out bagged variety. Subpar cleanliness in the dining area. Service was just okay.

  • Steven M.

The sandwiches are solid, but it's extremely expensive. $28 for two subs and some chips. That's just crazy. It taste good though. I'll probably go back again, I just will only get the sandwiches because I would like to not go broke.

Swung in here for lunch recently as I had followed their progress relatively closely and am always excited for a good sandwich. Sparse and industrial on the inside - befitting of the locale. Grabbed the Eastsider and a bowl of the soup of the day, in this case a Vietnamese take on the banh mi. Soup was out-frickin-standing. Sweet, sour, spicy and herby all at once. Love the sandwich in general, but this soup was as good as any banh mi I've ever had between 2 pieces of bread. Eastsider was tasty, but fell slightly short of expectations. Ingredients were quality, but overall construction left something to be desired as it basically fell apart in my hands. Got to compare the sandwich to its down the street neighbor in Mudgie's and in that, it fell a little short. Would love to come back and grab one of their charcuterie plates. Overall, a really nice addition to the burgeoning downtown Detroit dining scene.

About a week ago, I wrote a 5-star review of Rubbed. Today, I unfortunately have to change it. Initially, I was absolutely taken with the restaurant. The Beefcake sandwich was amazing, the decor hip, and the staff, for the most part, welcoming. I've since been back a few times with various friends & family, and having tried different sandwiches, I honestly haven't been as impressed with the other fare as my first visit. Nonetheless, I still liked it enough to suggest today, when my party of 4 all wanted Mudgie's, that they try Rubbed instead. After everyone had placed their order, I got up to approach one of the cooks directly to ask if he could "smash" my sandwich, which is advertised as a service on the menu. You might have thought I asked him to put on velvet gloves and delicately mold it using his own two hands, because he seemed to be really annoyed by the request, not to mention having a piss-poor attitude throughout the exchange that followed while he undertook the gargantuan task of narrowing down which sandwich it was from the two in front of him -- but not before whining about it to his co-worker in front of me. Anyway, if it was a big deal, I would have understood had he explained it; if it wasn't a big deal, then just smash the sandwich without an attitude. Had the owners been present (and maybe this had something to do with it), I would have said something. Bad service is one thing, but being an unwarranted jerk to a paying customer (and let's face it, Rubbed isn't exactly cheap) is another. Rubbed has lost at least one customer today. Next time, I'll just go to Mudgie's.

Excellent sandwich shop on Michigan Ave! Perfect if you're not in the mood for heavy fare that the rest of the restaurants on the strip offer. On my last trip we ordered the soup of the day - cauliflower and curry - incredibly flavourful, and 2 sandwiches - the yooper and the east sider. Everything was delicious and they even offer complimentary water with mint and cucumber. Can't wait to visit again.

Delcious. Love this little spot. We went for their grand opening and got to sample a bunch of their sandwiches. The bread is so soft and the meats they use are very fresh. Can't wait to go back again soon

Decent flatizzas. But Italian BMT equals big time heart time. Ignorant and totally offensive restaurant but goes well with harvest cheddar sun chips and medium cherry coke. Pretty cheap gas and fast lottery lines. I like how they desperate the lottery line from the gas and cigerettes line. Black forest ham is a wise choice. Good blunt prices and candy selections. Pay at the pump is nice too. Mellow wait times.

3.5 stars This is my first time here, heard a lot of things about their charcuterie board. I had the cheese board & prosciutto board. The prosciutto was very delicious and there were diff kinds. Came with a pita bread? but it was really hard abd wasn't really edible, not sure if it was old or it's the bread. There was also a side of fresh toasted be bread that was delicious with the prosciutto. (Not sure if it came a the cheese or meat we got) Into the cheese board, the cheese were good and I think kinds pricey for how much cheese we got. Maybe I'm not use to getting cheese board so I might be wrong. But we didn't get one of the cheese on the list bc the person who made it forgot or gave us a diff kind I guess. Which I wish didn't happen. The ambiance of the place was very chill & pretty. Had fresh flowers at every table. Had this hipster feel to it. I will be back to try other things. Hopefully they'll get their alcohol license by the time I'm back again!

An awesome and welcome addition to the Corktown food scene. Upscale sandwich menu with superb bread, meats, and cheeses. I've had the Eastsider and the club, both were a hit - super filling, but afterwards you feel good about what you ate. Sandwiches run anywhere from $9-12, and you can get any of them hot and pressed panini style. This is no Jimmy John's - you won't necessarily get it freaky fast (it's still pretty fast though) but it will be freaky good. To me, the real mark of great food is if I find myself thinking about it and craving it days after I've had it - and Rubbed has definitely made a few appearances in my lunchtime daydreams. In fact maybe I'll go pick some up later today....

Cute interior and great service. Had to give 3 stars for the price. Sandwiches are $11, that does not come with anything. For a basic sandwich it is not worth it to me. I got the "beef cake". It was pretty good, but the name is not appealing to me. Large portion size, I could not finish my sandwich. The panini option is nice, but they did not cook it long enough. My friend got the tomato mozzarella and the cheese was not melted at all. The charcuterie boards look good and I will try if I return.

I love this place...great interesting sandwiches, loaded with toppings on delicious bread. My only wish for the menu is that they offered a broader selection of sides, including salad and chip selection. Love their complimentary flavored water! Cool, relaxed vibe with fun music. Only recommendation to improve the ambience would be to warm it up a bit, maybe with rugs or fabrics? Lots of windows and cinder block walls make it a bit chilly to eat in during the winter, but maybe perfect for summer!

The New Detroit can be found in Corktown, a a neighborhood where you can get lox on a bagel for $12 dollars. RUBBED can be found in any yuppie/hipster enclave: Brooklyn, LA, Seattle. Trendy, unoriginal appropriation of charcuterie (this is what is IN for the yuppie crowd this year!). They're parodies of themselves and don't bring anything new, original, or community-oriented. The food is fine. But $10 turkey club sandwiches in a pretentious atmosphere isn't what Detroit needs. Well, maybe the "New Detroit." "New Detroit" loves RUBBED and expensive sandwiches as a demarcater of following the classy new trends going on in any Americana generica bourgie neighborhood. You can get your $6 cup of pour-over coffee down the street, too.

Everything about this place is amazing. The decor is incredible but importantly, the food is to die for. Even the bread for the sandwiches is spectacular, you can really tell a lot of time and care end into sourcing the few things that aren't pickled, smoked or cooked in house. Must try, vegetarian friendly too!

I had the Cool Club sandwich it was very good. The bacon herb spread they put on the sandwich was delicious and the French bread the sandwich was on didn't disappoint either. :)

Super good meat and cheese platter. Got the chef's choice for the platter, best way to do it. The raspberry vinegar redux sauce was stupid good.

The decor is flea market cool. The service is friendly but a tad slow for a deli. The food is excellent. Very fresh and generous portions. I tried the East- Sider. It was outstanding.

I like the atmosphere of rubbed, the service was great as well. I had the little Italy, it was really fresh tasting. All in all, great place.

I love Rubbed! I live down the street from here and eat there at least once a week. Their sandwiches strike the perfect balance between typical sandwich fare - cold cuts - and the extraordinary - their spreads are out of this world! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable, amazing meal. Be on the lookout for their monthly specialty dinners too. I've only been once but it was out of this world good.

This is one of these places that you leave and right away you want to go back. The sandwiches are amazing! A good sandwich is hard to come by in this area and these are great. On top of the sandwiches they have really great doughnuts and other baked goodies. The staff is so friendly as well as fun to talk to. Finally, there is a picture of a sloth climbing the Empire State Building. Need I say more?

You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches here..., plus if you're into charcuterie the selection they got here is bomb. I mess with this spot heavy.
