Love this sandwich place! The Italian sandwich is my favorite and is always toasted and made to perfection. I also have a cup of broccoli cheese soup...yummy and hearty. Came here at 12:45 right before the big lunch rush. I could see the line go by really quickly which is good especially when there are twenty people in line. Service is good and efficient. I've never been disappointed with their sandwiches, soups, or milkshakes! We don't have this sandwich spot in SoCal so I always make an effort to eat here on a short layover. Definitely recommend this place to those who love sandwiches!

I'm not a sandwich person but I'm kicking myself for never having gone to a Potbelly before. I loved the chicken salad sandwich and the pizza sandwich (no mushrooms). I like that they grill the bread. I do wish they didn't ask you if you want your sandwich "bigged" because both times I heard that and thought they were asking "baked" and ended up with a larger sandwich than I wanted. Oops. My coworkers like them for breakfast too, but I didn't try breakfast. The ambience in here is great as are the views. There's always someone playing music as well.

This place has the worst service. Just wasted 20 minutes of my life there that I'll never get back and I left with no food. Ordered a soup and sandwich, only a few people in line, didn't wait too long and got my sandwich. Tried to pay for it and that's where the problems came in. Only one cashier working and the line was backed up (meanwhile lots of people behind the counter just standing there). Then people cut in front of me and ordered their sandwiches and shakes at the cashier (you'd think the store would direct them where to order instead). Then 3-4 employees ending their shift and wanting to purchase snacks all cut in front of me. Employees. Multiple ones. And they all kept looking at me waiting to check out. And they kept jumping in and out of the line and cutting in front of me. After almost 10 minutes of waiting, one of the "cutters" actually spoke to me and asked if I was waiting to check out. At that point my sandwich was cold, so I just handed it back and walked out of the store. Never coming back here again. I used to work at the Ren Cen a few years back and always got Potbelly, never had these issues. The last few months, can never get service. Tried to do the online ordering thing multiple times too, and they never have anyone working the register, so your food is usually cold by the time you pay for it. Never again.

They rock at managing the lunch rush! The service is quick and friendly. The sandwiches are pretty good as well. Only drawback is the price. But like everything else downtown, 20% increase seems normal. :(

Really good food and a very good view of the river. Nice place to relax and fast service.

Really good hot sandwiches. Quick, fast, & gourmet deli tastes. I love the hot peppers that they put on the sandwiches. The chili soup was really good too.

I stopped here for lunch yesterday, looking for some interesting flavor after a long weekend convention at the Renaissance Center. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, but something was simply lacking about the sandwiches. I got a simple Italian sandwich and my partner got "The Wreck". The bread was dry and the meat was nothing special in terms of quality. The condiments were lacking, and several things I tried to order (the Big Size sandwiches, and the milk shakes) were already sold out by around 1PM. This was not an impressive experience.

Perhaps it was only limited by the circumstances, but Potbelly was only an average experience, at best. I came on the third day of a major convention, and when I went to order I found out that they were out of the ingredients for the milkshakes, and the soda machine was empty except for water. Okay, well the sandwich is the important part, right? Their sandwiches are fair quality, though average. I tried out the "Wreck" and had a pleasant experience, but was disappointed by the lack of selection over toppings. Potbelly's main advantage is being a convenient place to eat while staying in the Renaissance Center. There was nothing particularly impressive about the food, but the sandwich was decent, the restaurant is clean, and the location is good. Just be careful about going at the end of a busy weekend or they may well not be stocked well enough to give you what you want.

My favorite place in the Ren Cen for breakfast and lunch. Fast service, tasty food and reasonable prices. And great soup for a sandwich shop! Definitely the place to go if you haven't been to the Ren Cen before!

This is a great lunch spot for workers downtown, I got the chicken salad sandwich with everything, hot peppers, it was delicious. All of the sandwiches are warm, fresh. Very crowded and long lines, but they go fast and they caral you through pretty well. Fresh ingredients, in the Ren Cen, and total cost will be about $8 for sandwich, chips and soda..not bad..

Potbellies is a lot like a down home Quiznos. Toasted subs, with better options for sides: Lots of rootbeers, chips, cookies. Note: You have to ask for NO Cheese if you don't want cheese. Asking for tuna on wheat, got me tuna, cheese on wheat. I peeled it off, whatever. Nice garlicky pickle, diet rootbeer, soda and sandwich.

The only reason I wouldn't give this location five stars is that they sauced up my sandwich when I asked for it without. To my dismay I didn't find out until I had already walked back to our meeting space. Otherwise it was a great place that we ate at a few times over the weekend when we were there. Prices and taste are both better than subway, and the service is friendly as well with a little less of that "assembly line" feel you run into at sub shops. They made a good name for their brand, and fortunately I'll be able to partake back in my city as well.

The people that work here are incredibly friendly, and the restaurant is always spotlessly clean! That said, only about 1 in every 4 orders is actually correct. Even when I'm standing at the counter, they usually forget an ingredient or two, even after repeating myself. Not the end of the world, but I prefer Subway where I can actually see what ingredients go on the sandwich.

This place serves fast reasonable toasted hot sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. They also serve salads and soup though I've not had either. They are masters at moving looong lines; sending out servers to the line to capture the order as much ahead of time as they can. Prices fairly inexpensive and (less than $4.20 for any one sandwich and very reasonable prices for chips and soda). The downside (if any) is that these sandwiches are on the "smaller" side--but that's probably because we've been brainwashed into thinking that we must pay $6+ for sandwiches that are submarine sized. In fact they are a good normal sized sandwich with good flavor and great service. Lots of seating--with a view, even. The breakfast and lunch lines are long for a reason; give them a try.

Working in the RenCen you have almost unlimited options for breakfast foods. Potbelly is among the top for price AND tastiness. They do breakfast sandwiches on their lunch bread, with eggs, bacon, turkey, cheese and any of their lunch toppings of your choosing. Not a bad deal for under $3. They also do bagels, oatmeal, etc. During lunch the lines are long but move fast. The menu of sandwiches are posted up high so you can make a decision before you get to the counter. The salads are actually really really good (my favorite is the chicken salad salad), and everything is better with their hot peppers on it. The chili and chicken noodle soup serve as a good side to your sandwich. The cookies are so soft and delicious! The milkshakes are sinful. It's one of the cheaper options in the building, and always a good bet.

Absolutely the best place for lunch & breakfast in the Ren-Cen!! Reasonable prices and good food. Other places in the Ren-Cen are either too expensive or food is gross.

Great for lunch. They have a diverse menu so there is something for everyone. There are healthy options and they are amazing for work meetings. the lunch box is super east to order when catering for groups. My favorite is the greek sandwich since it has feta cheese on it. They also give extra cheese when you ask. The cookies are amazing as well but I guess how is a cookie not amazing.

Just has subs, also sells beer if thats your thing. If you go to the back of the restaurant you can have some river views. Good place to go for lunch, located near the Beaubien parking garage land bridge.

I'm a regular here. The food is always consistent. Some of the employees are very nice, unfortunately some aren't. Some are simply dirty, touching everything and your food also. The old manager (Angela) was awesome, the new one is below average, could potentially bring down the quality of this place.
