Cheap, tasty enough, really fast delivery service. Menu's in english y español. Absolutely nothing fancy about this place. Just hits all your classic delivery Chinese food staples (lo mein, chow mein, sweet and sour whatever, meat with snow peas, etc). There's almost nothing on the menu that cost more than $5 until you hit the combination plates. $4.75 lunch specials are a steal and a very filling lunch since your order comes with a free helping of chicken fried rice. They proudly boast on the menu "Delivery By Car" !!! :D it's always fast.

Summary: Poor quality and bad tasting Chinese food. Not worthy of your business. Transaction: Cash only! Unfriendly and unsmiling attendant. Food: Had the General Tso's chicken, and eggroll, and pork fried rice. The pork fried rice had a strong chemical taste. It had an unappealing dark gray color. The eggroll was OK. Slightly grassy taste, but OK. Chicken was tough and gristly. There was no discernable spice. Heavily breaded and deep fried to oblivion. This is, if memory serves, my only one start restaurant review. The whole experience has to be awful to merit such a rating from this reviewer. Panda was such an awful experience. I'm no Chinese food expert, but I've been to China. This isn't "authentic" Chinese food, nor is it good Americanized Chinese food. It's got to be one or the other to get my business. Places like PF Changs are far, far, better places to spend your money on Americanized Chinese food. There is a PFs only 11 minutes away. I will be making the drive next time. It is my strongest recommendation not to spend your money at Panda.

Second review for me and yes, it is another Chinese place -- gimme a break. I am, after all, part Chinese! lol. I first discovered this place about 8 or 9 years ago while I was still teaching at an area school close to this location. I am since back at yet another school and kind of remembered if this place is still there. Today I went back. I talk to a person there who I assumed (and I might be wrong) is one of the owners. She told me this place had been there for the past 12 years but was under new management for the last four. Like my first review, this place lacked the space for dine in but the food certainly makes up for it. I came back here today because of ONE reason only: Their dumplings! It was a favorite then, and it IS a favorite now. I love it because, to me, it is a COMPLETE meal for $4.50! Yes it is listed as an "appetizer" but man it filled me up! I am sure that the FULL selection of menu, especially at lunch is just as good (and I WILL be trying them out!) but consider this review as a BIAS FOR the DUMPLINGS! What can I say, the management may have changed but the food (read: dumplings) certainly have not! I WILL be back.

Dirty. Terrible food. General Tso sauce is ketchup. If they mess your order up, they'll be dicks about it like it's your fault. For example, we, as vegetarian's ordered tofu, they said they had it, we pick up our order and it's chicken. Once we ask to correct it, we're practically argued with. After several minutes of getting pretty aggravated after they didn't want to correct or refund the order, we finally got our order fixed. I've never felt so unwelcome to a business and it was the owners that were acting so petty. Worst "Chinese," food I've ever eaten. Been there a few times, will not return. Avoid like the plague, you can do better anywhere else.

First, they deliver. Right out of the gate, I am happy. Service - delivery was prompt and painless. They called to let me know they were here (I am at a manufacturing plant today) Price - great. Cheap and a ton of food. Food - good. I didn't care for the dumplings as much as the mongolian beef, but they were both flavorful. This is what it is - and I rated it as such. This is, as others have said, the old standby Chinese joint.

It is surprisingly hard to find good, cheap Chinese food in the city. The places are either roach traps (see Great Wall) or more formal and require you to wear pants (see Shangri-La). That's right, my friends, sometimes you just wanna stay in your PJs, pick up the phone and have a vat of lo mein delivered to your door. This, my friends, is the place. Sure, it's got a ton of MSG, but it's cheap and flavorful, and the menu is huge. It has the best egg rolls (not spring rolls, that's another classification) in town. The combos offer a lot of food for only a little coin. The delivery area is huge; Panda delivers from Southwest Detroit all the way to downtown. The office probably orders from here about once a week, and while I've never had anything mind-blowingly delicious, I've never been disappointed. Again, this place isn't the greatest, but if you're looking for cheap, decent Chinese, Panda "delivers."

There are a number of other Chinese joints in the SW Detroit area, and all of them are basically the same. Inexpensive, greasy, but very tasty with large portions. Even though I had passed by this place a hundred times before, I finally decided to give it a try this evening. The menu offers the same basic Chinese-American style items you would expect from any other restaurant. I ordered the Boneless BBQ spare ribs combo, which includes chicken fried rice and an egg roll for just under $7. Bonus points for the convenient and sturdy plastic container that the food came in, unlike most other places which either give you the flimsy cardboard or the flimsy styrofoam, and either way you usually end up with a nice big grease stain on the seat of your car by the time you get home. The portion size was large, probably big enough for 2 meals for many people. There was A LOT of BBQ pork in there, and it was quite good. The fried rice and egg roll were tasty, but nothing spectacular. I also had the egg drop soup, which was piping hot any really good - not overly salty. Overall, this is standard Chinese fare for a good price. I will very likely be returning to Panda sometime soon.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
