Great hole in the wall type of quick service restaurant. We were running a bit behind to head to DTW for a flight and were able to run in-and-out of Coney Island. The service was great. They were friendly, fast and the food was good. Nothing fancy about the coney island but it's not suppose to be. It's a spot for timely comfort food and that's what they have. The cheese eggs are done waffle house style with a slice of american cheese spread across the top. The omelets and skillets are great and can be substituted for egg whites. Everything for the price is very good. And if you appreciate FAST service, you will appreciate this coney island.

1st off - this is a Coney Island. If you go into it expecting something other, you'll be disappointed. Decent food, prepared quickly. What sets this place apart is the service. Know the diners of yesteryear? The shiny 50's neighborhood joint where the waitresses remember your name and what you like? That's this place. The opposite of pretension. Every restauranteur in Detroit should come here and leave asking how they can make their patrons feel as welcome as you do here. Big fan.

Very nice coney to go to. Big portion meals, fast service, super clean restaurant. I go there often. All waitresses very nice.

This place and its amazing breakfast sandwich literally saved my life on Sunday morning. Best breakfast sandwich ever. Super fast. Smart and efficient wait staff and cooks. I would go back to Detroit just for this.

Everyone should have a good Coney Island nearby and this is mine. I've been here a number of times but mostly for the same reason: breakfast. Highly recommend the Grecian Skillet, sliced hash browns that are crispy brown on one side but keep their potato texture, golden onions, tomatoes that cook just enough to not taste raw, gyro meat, eggs and cheese. They do all the other normal Coney Island fare too. The waitresses have always been very nice and service is quick.

This place is amazing. I only wish I'd come here years sooner. They offer a 4.25 breakfast. Eggs, toast, meat, and hash browns.....nice and crispy hash browns. I always find service so friendly and fast at diners. I'm not sure why but it makes me feel like I've eaten a complete meal when everything is firing on all cylinders. Our coffee, which is really good diner coffee, was filled frequency and the food came out fast and hot. I imagine my fat.....will be here often in the future. I'm speculating that lunch and dinner are just as good and will find out soon.

I am finding Onassis worthy of an extra star upgrade, as in the year since my initial review I've visited Onassis many other times, and always have had very good service and the food is above average for standard coney fare. Also, they do lemon rice soup (yes just lemon rice, no chicken) better than I've had ANYWHERE. I swear they sprinkle crack in it - good thing they offer it daily. I have to get it at least a couple times a week. Stand outs are the breakfast items, the club sandwich, and ,of course, the soup.

For quick, cheap, and good food - this is the place to go! Service was quick and friendly - even though it was 30 minutes before they closed on a Sunday. I ordered the chicken grecian pita - and it was perfect. I was impressed that they had beets on the menu. For fast food, this was great. It was big and tasty and filled me up. It didn't come with fries, but that was okay because it was enough in itself.

Before my boyfriend and I started dating he always talked about taking me to Sunday breakfast at Onassis'. He mentioned that one of the waitresses, Trina, was one of the best and she was always kind to him. It was kind of a tradition for him to dine there every Sunday, whether he was alone or with friends. I finally had the opportunity to go there this morning and let me tell you, I was pretty excited to be apart of one of my boyfriend's favorite things. Onassis is located across from the old Tigers Stadium in Corktown and it can easily be packed on a beautiful day. The service blew me away! Trina was an absolute doll and treated me with kindness and I felt like I was apart of the family, even if I just walked in the door. Drinks and orders were taken promptly and small talk was wonderful. The food though. The best breakfast I have ever had. Nothing too gourmet about it, but you can't beat the price! Breakfast for two with drinks included was $14 .... and that's even with leftovers! The French toast was so fluff and fresh. Not too burnt, made just right with just enough cinnamon. My side of bacon was more than enough for me (heck, the boy even ate some of mine!) The boyfriend had eggs and bacon and he didn't really say much about it, but he did finish the entire thing so it had to be something great, right? I see me coming here more frequently in the future! Superb service. Wonderful company. Clean establishment. You cannot compare!

Fast, super friendly service with excellent food. I go here at least twice a week. Mario, the owner, runs a clean operation & cooks a lot of the food himself. I have never had a bad experience here!

If you need a quick, fillling and simple breakfast.....then Oasis is your go to spot. Located across from the old Tiger Stadium, this little gem has a very nice line up of good breakfasts, I've eaten here more than four times and everytime Oasis puts out a consistent product. My overall experience is 8 out of 10.

What a great place to enjoy a morning breakfast. Try the choice of Omelettes. Mmmmmmm good! The front line staff is very friendly especially Ty, Lisa and Maria. Not to forget the other staff members. The owner/cook (Mario) is excellent. He cooks to order. It's like "having it your way. When it comes to a business model he has the three P (s), People, Process and product. Enjoy.

I'm use to national coney islands, and this one is not. If you've been to one then u know what I'm talking about when I say mediocre. Their homemade soups are delicious, sandwiches are great, fast service, so much better than a standard national coney island chain. Highly recommend this place for a quick lunch.

The Main cook is loud, rude, disrespectful @$$hole ! Please don't send anything back by the waitress, because he doesn't mind speaking loud enough to let the entire restaurant know how he fills about

Wow! If you're in need of a good Coney while in the area of the old Tiger Field in Detroit, don't hesitate to stop here! I have 3 times now!

Lightning-fast, friendly service at this new Coney. Prices are good and portions are huge. The lemon rice soup seems to be homemade unlike at most Coneys, and the Greek salad is gigantic and comes with plenty of veggies on top in a fancy bowl. The kitchen and dining areas are very clean. This is no high-falutin' fancy place, but the quality of food and service exceeds that of other Coney Islands.

Ate here when I was hungover and desperate for an omelet. It was delicious and our waitress was adorable. The portions were huge, the staff was friendly, and our bill was practically nothing. They were brewing fresh coffee when I got there and it perked me right up. Yum!

This is a great Coney Island. Huge portions of really good food for cheap! Also, it's fast, it's clean and it's got a really convenient location. Mario, the owner is there cooking everyday, making sure the food is consistent. What more do you want?!? Go there already, sheesh...

Maybe it's not really fair to rate a business like a restaurant after one visit, but sometimes special circumstances call for a special response. It's a Detroit coney, which means they have coney dogs, Greek-type specialties, soups, sandwiches, stir-frys and breakfast items. What prompted this review was their "Firedog" coney, which was pretty special. A spicy Vienna-brand hotdog, called a Firedog, is split lengthwise, then grilled. A better-than-average pita is also lightly grilled. The grilled firedog is added, along with coney chili, mustard and onions. It was absolutely the best coney I have had in ages and ages. We stopped for an early dinner (around 5:15 pm) on our way to a function in mid-town. The restaurant was clean and cheerful. It wasn't busy, so the one working server served us quickly and efficiently. I also had a cup of chicken noodle soup, which was really nicely flavored and did not taste at all like it came from a box in a Gordon's freezer. My husband has a business nearby and has been several times and enjoyed, which is why he suggested it in the first place. The next time I am in the mood for coney with a special kick, I will make the trip.
