Huge portions at a low price. Food was pretty good. Good service. I recommend the Szechuan chicken.

Tried this because it's so close to my new workshop and was hoping it was at least passable for a convenient meal. I called to place an order, was told 15min. I arrived 15min later and waited another 20min for what was sub par szechuan beef, swimming in sauce, that was impossible to eat from the container back at the shop. The fried rice was ok, nothing special. The beef itself was decent quality and could have been good if prepared differently. They put the egg roll in the dinner clamshell on top of the rice so by the time I sat down to eat, it was soggy and unappetizing. I usually make 2-3 meals out of any chinese order but I ended up tossing it after I had my fill. If I do go back I may just try a different menu item, since there are duds on every menu, but I think I'll go with a half order... but more likely I'll look for another Chinese place in the neighborhood.

This place gives me foodgasms on a regular basis. Been eating at Lucky Dragon since it opened and at the other location before that. This is the best dang Chinese food. I've had Chinese food in many states, countries and china towns and nothing even comes close. The almond chicken is so good. Ask for sweet and sour sauce on the side. The only thing I'm not crazy about are the egg rolls. Did I mention the owner of this place is smoking hot! He can fry my rice any day. LOL Now I'm hungry...

Absolutely the worst "Chinese" food I have ever eaten. I use Chinese in quotes, because I question if what I ate was actually supposed to be Chinese food. I ordered two dishes, Almond chicken (which some have reviewed favorably on here) and Orange chicken with an egg roll. Everything was inedible. I ate just a few bites and threw out everything. And for some inexplicable reason, our meal came not with the typical fortune cookies for dessert, but saltine crackers! Yes, you read that correctly, saltine crackers at a Chinese place! Almond chicken, has a coat of fried breading and on top there is a thick gravy. Forgive me but a gravy in Chinese food? It was the consistency that I would expect for a Thanksgiving meal. Orange chicken: The sauce was very dark in color, which I felt was a little strange. And then I tasted it and it tasted nothing like any other orange chicken that I have had. And I have eaten at plenty of Chinese restaurants. Perhaps I went on a bad day or the cook was new or something, but it is strange that I did not see a single Chinese person there, neither the customers nor the staff. Even the lady who answered the phone was not Chinese, she was not even Asian. I found that strange in a Chinese restaurant. Perhaps the cooks are not Chinese either and that is why they do not know how to cook Chinese food. I won't be going back and I cannot believe with that low quality of food, that this place is even open, or reviewed so highly on here. One last thing, the menu that is listed on the Yelp page is old. Add $2 to anything you see on that menu. So, I ended up paying close to $20 for the worst Chinese ever. And if you eat Chinese a lot, you will know that $10 a plate is a little pricey for Chinese. I would be happy to pay if it was good, but if you read this far, then you will know my experience was terrible.

Almond Chicken. Almond Chicken. Almond Chicken. Almond Chicken. Almond Chicken. Invented in Michigan (said to have been created in Detroit Metro!) - and perfected at Lucky Dragon- it's delicious. Crispy pan fried chicken- tender and flavorful.. Smothered in this intoxicating gravy with tons of fresh scallion (green onion) and slithered almonds. If you were traveling far/ taking it a long way back to home or office- you should get gravy on the side, to keep the chicken crisp! We had the 1/2 portion and it was dinner for 2! We recommend getting it with their shrimp fried rice!

Just ordered carry out here, fried rice and General Tso's chicken. The General Tso's was overlooked and smothered in barbecue sauce. The fried rice contained rancid chicken! After seeing/smelling the rancid chicken we tossed both meals. Before today I was unaware of urban restaurants run/owned (apparently) by non-Asians. I had misgivings at the start and should have followed my intuition and not ordered. I was willing to be open-minded and give it a chance. Instead I spent hard earned money on one of the most substandard meals I've ever experienced. I sure hope we don't get sick from the 1-2 forkfuls we ate.

The sauces taste exactly like candy. First experience here. Found on Yelp while searching for a Chinese restaurant near Tech Town with WiFi. OMG! THERE'S A 7-11 IN DETROIT?!?!!! Lucky Dragon is in the shopping plaza behind 7-11 on Jefferson at Chene (Detroit's first?) A typical counter service fast food restaurant. Daily specials (Corned beef egg roll today). Friendly service. Standard Detroit Chinese food menu. Clean. Seats 40. Small TV in dining area (Hell's Kitchen playing). We ordered a quart of Sweet and Sour Chicken and Szechuan Beef (spicy) dinner portion. Ample portions with a refreshing variety of fresh vegetable. THE SAUCES TASTE EXACTLY LIKE CANDY.

Food takes a little long, but it's worth the wait. Loved it. Got the Garlic Ribs. They also have a clean & welcoming environment

You gotta love a place that advertises itself this way: "Everyone has a favorite Chinese restaurant. We want to be yours." Had my first visit today and will be a regular; the Hawaiian chicken was great and I'd like to try the almond chicken, the drunken noodles, the fried rice and others. Clean and fast, tasty, very basic but solid, good grub downtown.

Solid Chinese food, central downtown location. Very fresh and large portions. Almond chicken and hot & sour soup were very tasty. Garlic ribs were just okay, I expected more garlic. Can't wait to try this place again!

I've never eaten in but we've had it delivered at work many times. Always fast and the food is pretty good. Our order has never been messed up either. The sweet and sour chicken is always good. They serve shrimp fried rice with all the lunch combos (not sure about dinner). Very reasonably priced.

Disappointing. The 15 minute wait took 45 minutes. Out of pork. Out of egg foo young. Food mediocre at best. Better egg rolls frozen in the grocery store. Not going back. There is a much much better fast carry out Chinese place on E. Jefferson in the strip mall where Blockbuster used to be.

As Chinese food goes, they have never disappointed me. It is great food, but it is as good as any place you may go. Nothing special about many Chinese food places. I have tried various standards, sweet and sour this and that, shrimp fried rice, eggrolls and they are all really good. You wont be disappointed.

I have been to this restaurant a few times, and I have never really had any complaints about it. The egg rolls are always good, and fried rice is almost to die for! Unfortunately, the Sweet and Sour Chicken doesn't come with enough sauce for my taste, and it is far more sweet than it is sour. I've also had their Foo Young and their Almond Chicken, and both were pretty good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
