I will second third and fourth the fact that the nights here can be loud and ghetto. No worries, it was something else. One friend I went with had the chocolate chip pancakes, the other one had the strawberry stuffed french toast. The friend who had the french toast was sick later on, but oh well. I had an ice cream sundae as that was all that was in the budget, they were out of vanilla, so I had chocolate ice cream (which was mostly melted into pudding). Such is life.

I like the customer service as much as I enjoy the blueberry pancakes. I also like the fact that they are open late to accomodate those attending late night events, or for those leaving a social event that lacked food. The servers are always so friendly. It doesn't matter if you're there on a Sunday morning at 10 am or a Saturday morning at 1 am. There's also still that picture of Anita Baker on the wall that I love so much. Their carry out is quick also.

Yes, there is a "pistol free zone" sign on the outside of this IHOP but it's relatively quiet when I go. The food is what you would expect from IHOP and the service has always been friendly. They also have wifi now so yay. I am a fan of this place because the hostess, cashier and waitress were prompt, attentive and smiled. I heard this was the "hood" IHOP but most of the customers I saw there were the usual IHOP suspects: old people, people in business suits and large sized families.

Seems like a high rating for a place that tends to be preferred by those suffering Indica cravings just before couch-lock sets in. However, the extra two stars are for our glorious server Ami and the superior effort she provided went above anything we have seen in Detroit. This entire establishment needs a scrubbing from ceiling to floor. There are seldom logical excuses to be proffered that dutifully would explain why the walls have food and grime. I'm sure none would be offered here. The food is of taste and quality to be expected from IHOP, it is what it is. They certainly are greedy with the gravy dripped onto the chicken fried steaks. There was a time when that gravy was poured, not its sparingly parsed out as if we are under rationing orders issued by the Gravy Regulators.

Never again. I have been at this location about 3 times before this one and experienced much better. When my boyfriend and I arrived there was a couple in front of us and 6 empty booths. A lady in a red shirt then wrote our names down and said someone would be with us shortly. UH OK. We then ask the couple in front of us what was going on and they stated they have been standing there for 10 minutes with no greeting whatsoever. The man (from the couple) then asks the store manager what the issue was and she was VERY confrontational. She stated that "It is Sunday so it is busy" (no it wasn't) and that the hostess (who was doing a to-go order) would be with us shortly. UH. Why not just fix the problem yourself? Why are there 3 separate visitors being put on a waiting list when there are empty tables available? URGH. We are finally seated and the food was sub-par. The pancakes fell apart when I was putting butter on them and the hash-browns were hard and cold. I'll never be coming to this location again. Bob Evans is better :)

This establishment is well protected. Security frisked us for weapons and whatever might put they "Family" dinning facility. They try and make it safe and what-not. But its over done. Especially while we dine they a security guard watching us eat. They also have a one person at a time in the bathroom rule. Terrible. I haven't even eaten yet and I'm already quite upset. We'll see how this goes. Stay tune to find out what what happens in the next episode of DRAGON BALL FUCKING Z. No but seriously...

I'm writing this about my most recent experiences with this location. Since they have changed ownership the quality of the food as changed drastically for the worse. The meat is terrible tasting and cheap. Their sausage used to be so good and now it's obviously the cheap stuff that has an after taste. The T-bones used to be surprisingly good for a breakfast place. They were huge, thick, and juicy. The T-bone steaks now, if I can even call them that, are thin as paper and so cheap it's an exercise in futility to even try to specify what type of steak you would want. However you ask for it it will be grey on the inside. The pancakes with the fruit on top are good but they are so stingy with the topping at this location that it's like two tablespoons and they want to up charge you for more topping. The prices have gone up but it's not worth it at this location. Go to the Livonia location.

I really don't understand the hype about this place. While they may have many options, the food itself is pretty meh. Came here for brunch on a Sunday, and had to wait about 15 minutes. I was surprised when we were seated b/c they had a whole area that was open - guess they didn't have enough staff maybe. It was interesting to see different flavours of syrup (maple, blueberry, strawberry). I liked being able to pair a few different things. For instance, I got a 1/2 order of the strawberry cheesecake pancakes and eggs. The eggs were fine, the strawberry cheesecake pancakes were good, but definitely not as good as I expected them to be. I tried some of my boyfriend's sausage, which tasted like a fried hot dog. His scrambled eggs tasted like powdered eggs from a hotel breakfast. My friend got the stuffed french toast. They were pretty bad. It was basically soggy bread stuffed with the icing from Toaster Strudels, which was way too sweet. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the service was incredibly friendly, despite the bad food.

Great experience AS ALWAYS! I love this IHOP it's so Detroit, a lot of soul there.. In the waitresses and the food! Thank God I moved downtown to discover this location! Everything was made exactly how I ordered it! I ordered the harvest grain and nut pancakes with blueberries & added banana slices on top (see photo) and the ultimate breakfast sampler with bacon and sausage with poached eggs and well done hash browns ! IT WAS PERFECT! The food did not take long at all either. I personalized my order in the way I liked it and they didn't give me a hard time or charge me extra! Our waitress was attentive and addressed is by our names. She was very kind. Her name was Tameka V. The restaurant was also clean and so were the restrooms.

Came here at 2 am. This is not in the best part of town, and you will get searched/patted down to enter. Makes the whole experience a little weird, but at the same time one would argue that this is the safest IHOP in the US! The service was good. The food was good and the pancakes were great. Great value. I have mixed feelings about coming here again.

The food was classic IHOP but the service was impeccable. Such a great experience thanks to the incredible host and our amazing server. Will definitely return.

Delicious! I tried the New York cheesecake pancakes they were so good. Little pieces of cheesecake in your pancakes drizzled with strawberry sauce. The portion size was good. There is an older black women that works there with blond hair super nice!

I visited IHOP while out downtown this weekend. It was after 1am and they were open for dine in. I don't know why I expected it to be different than my visit a few years ago. You are searched at the door and they use a metal detector wand to check your person. Ladies you purse must be opened before you enter. The server we had was pleasant, knew the menu, and made the experience great. I am turned off by the fact that you have to pay $3.50 to use the outlets to charge your phone. YES you must pay this IHOP to charge your phone. That is the first I have heard. I felt like I was going into a prison and searched like we were in the airport. That is too much for a cheap breakfast meal. I understand it is on Jefferson, but the stigma the owner is attaching to this location explains why it was dead when we went to eat. Last visit for me. It is not worth giving them my money or time. Too bad for the server we had because she was GREAT. Customer service was on point.

I have been going to this IHOP for many years. The line can be really long to get a table on the weekend, and the service is just "Meh." The food taste just like all the other IHOPs you have ever been to. I reccommend calling ahead and ordering your meal for pick up and eating it at home.

I love IHOP, if you go diring the day service is great and its not to loud. but if you go at night its very loud and ghetto.
