First time here and definitely not my last. When I first saw how big my wrap turned out, I figured there was no way I would finish it....but it was so delicious, it is now gone and I am now full! Sadly the construction looks to put a big damper on parking, but there is still a way in. I believe Willis is the side street you can park on or Garfield is an option too. Customer service was nice and welcoming, got the introduction spiel of what is recommended and basic overview. I was told its the place to be and I just thought "thats what yelp said". I ordered a wrap in which I added one protein, their marinated chicken (yum), 3 mezzas- quinoa tabbouleh (double yum), roasted jalapenos and fresh tomatoes and automatically included was pickles and garlic sauce. Omg it was so delicious, so many good flavors and they all worked well together. Inside it is a little cozy, it was not too busy when I came in but I can imagine it gets full. Customer service, atmosphere, cost and definitely the food is why you should come check it out!

Loved this place. As my friend described it, it's the Chipotle of Middle Eastern cuisine. Went there on a Saturday late afternoon and it was dead inside. The workers said Saturday's are slow but weekdays are very busy. (Side note they are closed on Sunday). It is small inside so on busy days you may just need to take it to go. The menu is pretty simple, you can choose from one of their signature wraps or do a BYO platter or wrap, which is what I would suggest. The platter, which is what I went with, allows you to order one "protien" and five "mezzas". When you look on the "food bar" (set-up like a Chipotle or Subway) The mezzas and proteins are color coded. I had the chicken for my protein and it was tender, juicy and flavorful. Not one fatty, chewy piece. For my sides or as they call them mezzas I ordered: Minted cabbage, roasted cauliflower(so good), hummus, Quinoa tabbouleh(a must get) and the Armenian salad(a must if you like spicy things). Everything I had I strongly recommend. Some other options include rice, roasted veggies and Baba Ghanough. You then select your sauce, which can be placed on the side and have the option to top your platter with pickles or pickled turnips. Great place, friendly staff, clean inside and everyting tasted fresh! **They also give discounts to Wayne State Students and employees of some of the local hospitals. Make sure to ask when paying

The Quinoa Tabbouleh is heaven sent! Perfectly spiced and the amount of lemon is on point! The atmosphere and unique wall art provide a little taste of Beirut in the heart of Detroit! Can't wait to return!

Tasty, with lots of choices if you're a picky eater like me. Soda fountain was broken, but I forgave it because they're new. No designated parking, but you can find street parking nearby.

I went to Falafill for a late lunch. There were only a few other customers and a short wait. It is a short walk from Wayne State, and they offer a student discount! I got the chicken wrap and my friend got the falafel. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly. When I noticed the pita bread in a bag and a Panini press behind the counter I asked for my sandwich grilled. This was treated as an absurd request. I noticed them heating the bread, like they do at a chipotle, for another customer. I mentioned that they did not heat mine and they did give me new bread. The person helping me was new and I will not blame her. Food tasted fresh and large portion. I will return when I am in the area.

Very good and cozy place to get some delicious Falafill. It's just close to Wayne State :)

It had me expecting quite a bit but I left knowing that I probably won't be back. It takes a lot for me to leave less than 3 stars, so they're gonna get the 3 stars, but I still won't be back. The food wasn't as good as advertised and some of it wasn't made properly. I think a 3 is fair, and if you want middle eastern style food in this area, this could be a place you should try. I'll keep looking though.

One of the best falafel sandwiches I've had. Fresh ingredients chipotle style setup. Definitely will be going back.

Went in with my boys after the gym yesterday. Looking for healthy fast food. We found it. Everyone was impressed. The falafel was hot and fresh. The salads were outstanding. They use high quality ingredients making the food delicious. The Armenian salad was crisp and tasty. Service was friendly quick and excellent. The owner came out introduced himself and asked how every thing was. Nice touch! Will be a busy place once area road construction is complete.

Loved it. Had their specialty chicken shawarma and dare I say that it tasted healthier and even better than Bucharest Grill. I'll definitely be coming back for that, their pomegranate homemade lemonade and peanut chips!

Summary: Food: Excellent, we tried the signature steak, chicken and falafel...all were amazing. Fresh ingredients evident in each item. Environment: Casual, but clean Staff: Friendly, helpful, we asked questions and there was no pretentious behavior. Tip: avoid rush hours, we went in slightly before 6, no crowd. Review: The food was excellent. You could taste the freshness of all ingredients. I did enjoy it more than Bucharest fare. Though the price is a little more, still very affordable with dishes all well below $10.

We found out about this place while attending an event at the Charles Wright Museum. They delivered to us vendors there and we have been hooked ever since! We have been back a few times and they even delivered to our business in Rivertown. The food is excellent and the service outstanding!!! Please go support this business!

Great food. My first time here, met the owner. Definitely will be coming back. Had the classic falafel and house fries. Plastic cups and utensils are compostable. Good environment overall.

Had a delicious dinner @falafilldet tonight. This place is like a Falafel Subway, you can choose the protein, toppings and sauce for your sandwich or platter. I really wanted a sandwich but went with the platter because I wanted to try everything. The original Falafel is delicious, reminded me of Aunt's falafel (she makes the best). The halal marinated and grilled chicken they offer may as well have crack on it. It's juicy tender and addictively delicious! I didn't hold back on the sides or their sauces either and they also have Lebanese Sweets too. We really liked this place and we will be back soon.

Went for dinner last night before a show. It was amazing! Ingredients were so fresh. Everything tasted great, it was great service, and really reasonably priced.

Just ate here for the first time and loved it - it's like the Mediterranean counterpart to Chipotle! Great service - even though we showed up 30 minutes before close - and awesome food!! I recommend the minted cabbage and Armenian salad! Can't wait to come back :)

Found this little gem on the hot and new list on yelp. Really glad I did too. The food was exceptional, and knowing it was our first time and that we found it on yelp, the service went beyond what you'd expect at a fast casual joint. We were in town for Movement and looking to try something outside our normal sphere. Falafill fit the bill. I thought with a name like Falafill they might have a large variety of falafel options, but there were only two: traditional and curry. They were both delicious. They let me sample the curry since I ordered traditional. Hearing that we were from out of town and found them on Yelp, they really gave us a great experience. They let us sample several things, gave us a side of a chickpea salad for free, and were very attentive. Our group ordered several different options off the menu, even trying a platter, pita and wrap between us. Of particular note were the delicious teas they had. A rose and a mint of some sort. I could be confusing the styles, as its been a month, but these were really fantastic and refills are free for them. If I lived in Detroit, I'd be hitting this place up all the time. edit: it might be interesting to note that there were only 11 reviews when I started my draft, and now that I've posted it, there are 37! This place is taking off, and it's no fluke!

Me and two of my co-workers went to Falafill for lunch one day and loved it. Everything from the food to the service was impeccable. I had the protein with five servings from the mezza bar - and I got the chicken, roasted vegetables, roasted jalapenos, cucumber salad, baba ghanoush and cabbage. It was all delicious. I should have gotten extra chicken though because I'm a big eater and with all the lack of starch (because I eat way too light sometimes) I was still a little bit hungry. But they are huge portions of all servings. Everyone working was extremely friendly and there was plenty of room to sit inside. I'd love to go back and eat all the good stuff :) OH - and it's extremely reasonably priced just FYI.

I'm glad that Detroit finally has a Midwestern version of a Maoz, something I miss from living on the East Coast. But unlike Maoz, there are meat options as well. I tried the sumac chicken, which was quite good. The curry falafel was also very tasty. I love that you can get your plate or sandwich loaded up with lots of delicious things like baba ghannouj, roasted veggies, and tabbouleh. The mint cabbage and cauliflower were probably my favorite toppings, and the spicy cilantro sauce was excellent. My one complaint: the torshi/turnip pickles (something I normally love) tasted like they might be going bad. Falafill is an ideal lunch spot with fast, friendly service and healthy food at fair prices. I'll be back for sure.

Really like this place. From the decor to the quality and price of the food, it's all around a great place to grab food in midtown. The price is more than fair, the portions are generous, and the food is very good quality. The staff is kind and courteous. Chipotle-style Middle Eastern food? How can you lose?

  • Chris J.

For the price, you get really good quality and portions. I got the platter with original Falafel and several sides. Everything was very fresh and tasted great. The minted cabbage was probably the favorite side, but the hummus and veggies were also good. The "spicy garlic" really wasn't too spicy. It was very fast, almost like the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. I will definitely be back to try other items.

I absolutely loved this place, the portions are great. The value is great. Always fresh. Attentive staff. I love the fact that I can see my food being prepared in front of me. The hummus is probably the best I've ever had. The chicken was grilled and seasoned to perfection. Don't even get me started on the falafels.. Oh my! Make sure to check out the artwork on the walls. What's not to love about this place? Best falafel and hummus ever!!!

So before this point I had been to many middle eastern restaurants and tried falafel. It was hard, it was cold, it didn't have flavor, it tasted microwaved. Now I can tell you I've had the real deal here, and it tastes awesome! Steaming hot, soft, almost crumbling in your hand, and most importantly flavorful and fresh! I've had many different things from Falafill and their emphasis on freshness is no joke. Everything tastes amazing. The greens/salads have so much flavor I swear they just picked it from a garden. Just wish they were open Sunday!

I give this restaurant 5 stars based off of their awesome atmosphere!! Everyone that works here is so helpful and kind. The American mix on middle Eastern food is interesting, to say the least. Although the toum sauce was a bit lemony, the atmosphere won me over. Not to mention their house made lemonades: Pomegranate Orange Blossom and (my favorite) Rose Tea & Mint. It is so cute and colorful in here!

Incredibly fresh food that leaves me feeling healthy afterward. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Friendly, quick and accommodating service. A perfect lunch spot in midtown.

I'm happy to be the 10th straight 5 star review. I was absolutely floored by the amount and quality of the food. Unlike another reviewer who said she was worried about her waistline, I think Falafill is going to become a staple in my diet. Fresh, healthy and delicious? Can't beat it.

Mediterranean style Chipotle.. The best falafel I've ever had. They also have chicken/beef shawarma which are also amazing. You get to pick your sides which include tabbouleh, hummus, and baba ghanouj. Will definitely be back

New place in midtown. Good service, my two visits have been met with consistently good food and friendly staff. Prefer the options and the food to La Palma. But maybe I'm just bored by the old place. Definitely warrants a check out and let's hope they can keep it going.

Solid place if you're a fan of falafel. They have a good mix of meat and vegetarian fare. It's probably been a bit tough for them, with all the construction on Woodward, but worth your time searching for a parking spot to stop in for a quick lunch. Also had them provide some catering once, which was nice and simple (an assortment of wraps) -- a smooth process all around. Recommended.

So happy this opened down the street from work. By far the best falafel sandwich I've had in Detroit (which probably means in all of America), and it is saying a lot because I grew up in the Middle East. The sandwich was huge, $6.50, full of delicious goodness like pickles and tahini. It can probably seat about 20 people max, so if it's packed you can take your sandwich to go and walk around Woodward. The place is pretty and clean and the staff is friendly. I'll be back!

In the 80's we had to go Downtown Detroit to Hart Plaza for the annual Arab Festival to have a great Falafel Sandwich, today the place with the greatest Falafel Sandwich by far is just north of downtown on Woodward in Midtown Detroit, not only is the falafel amazing, the variety of items on the menu are amazing as well, the herbs and spices they use are out of this world. A MUST TRY!

Thank you Yelp for your reviews and recommendations. Took advantage of this gorgeous weather and took a short walk from my internship to this place. Wowowowow! Healthy, fresh, AND halal options!!! I got the bowl of chicken and cauliflower with a side of quinoa tabbouleh. Excellently made. Even got a 10% off cuz of where I'm interning at:) Super clean restaurant, very fresh food (their tabbouleh is on point...not everyone knows how to make good tabbouleh). My waistline is wishing I didn't figure out this place!

This place is amazing. I was a bit confused when I first saw the menu and I think a lot of other people may be too, but the whole concept is like Chipotle but the food they're serving is middle eastern. They have loads of option even if you're vegetarian or a hard core meat eater. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

I was ready to give this place a 4 star review after trying because the service was good and friendly, the food tasted pretty good and it was reasonably priced. Then yesterday I was feeling sick as hell and spent half my day on the toilet with diarrhea. Considering this was the only thing new I have ate at in the past week I have nowhere else to blame but here. Which is a shame because this is basically Mediterranean Chipotle.
