I went here over the summer with a friend in from out of town. We both had prime rib and it was so fantastic. We also had some sort of polenta appetizer that we loved. The next time I went back, totally not the same. They had a new chef. The appetizers were all different. I ordered the same thing, prime rib. It came cold. Which can happen, so they microwaved it. (Making it medium instead of rare). Then I ordered a side of mac and cheese. Which was a bowl of riggatoni noodles with a small smattering of cheese sprinkled on top. Disgusting. I replaced it with the broccoli. They really should not gave hired that chef!! Every table around us was talking about how unhappy they were. The table next to us got their hands on an opinion card and made a lost of about twenty things that made the visit awful. I won't be going back. I use comps there, so I don't even really pay and I still wont be going back.

I've been to Bistro 555 about half a dozen times now & I haven't been disappointed one time. The first time I went was early in the morning to take advantage of the breakfast buffet. Every item in the buffet is fantastic, from the crispy bacon to the custom omlettes made for you at the omlette bar. Even the brand of yogurt they set out is pretty good. The eggs are hit or miss though. The lunch & dinner menus are just as good, with everything from chicken tenders to 16oz. steaks. I, personally, fell in love with the Sampler Platter which includes dynamite shrimp, beef saté, chicken egg rolls, & pork pot stickers & four different sauces. Delicious. Each time that I've visited, my service has been great. The waiters/waitresses are always by your side fulfilling your every request & this is matched only by their friendly attitudes. My only complaint about Bistro 555 is the view: the side of the building the windows face leaves much to be desired, although from what previous reviewer Amber C. has said it's beautiful @ night when the city is lit up, but you'll be much too distracted with this wonderful restaurant to even notice during the day.

My fiance and I went to Bistro 555 for a nice dinner after a play at the Fisher. When we arrived, we were impressed with the decor of the place. Very nice. Tables spaced apart so we didn t feel like we were sitting on top of the people next to us. The rolls were outstanding once we received them and then it went downhill from there. The service was lacking to say the least. My fiance ordered the split pork chop in balsamic glaze. The chop was dry and lacked flavor to the point where she could not eat the dish. The waitress did remove it from the bill so that was good. I had the prime rib which was over cooked to say the least. The aus ju was flat and not very flavorful. All in all, not a good dining experience. We should have went to Fishbones.

The McRib is Back!!!! In the form of the prime rib special at Bistro 555. Expectations of a $10 prime rib were low, but for ten bucks why not give a shot (bad call). The restaurant is amazing... ascetically. The prime rib was the same hue of gray as a McDonald's hamburger. After having the calamari I wondered to myself where have I had this before, Oh yeah the clam strips at White Castle. If you have a casino comp to burn. Just set it on fire. It will taste better than your meal. The second star is for the look of the restaurant.

555 is a nice place for a quick breakfast. Pricing is typical of a hotel buffet. They have a big selection. I wasn't able to try everything. The sausages were my favorite. Will RTE if I stay at Greektown again.

My friends and I tried this restaurant out for Restaurant Week. I was disappointed to see that the Restaurant Week menu we were given was smaller than the one listed on the Restaurant Week website. The food was okay at best. The salmon was tasty, but had quite a few bones, and I think it might have been a pre-packaged reheat. The mashed potatoes and side of sautéed spinach were boring. (The meal was supposed to come with rice pilaf and a seasonal vegetable) The fried chicken wasn't great. Our desserts were nothing special (cheesecake for me, brownie sundaes for the rest). The service was okay, but again, nothing special. The floors were dirty, but the tables looked clean. I had to brush food off of our booth seats before sitting down. The women's bathroom was awful. No toilet paper in the first two stalls, and the third was clearly out of order but no sign was posted. There was a roll of toilet paper on the floor in that stall. I'm NOT going to use toilet paper that's been rolling around on the dirty floor. The floors looked very dirty and almost sticky. Avoid the bathrooms and go into the casino to use those! Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Maybe if you've had a few drinks after losing your money in the casino, but that's about it.

I brought my mother here for her birthday dinner (May, 2014). My Dad also joined us. The decor was pretty (it was open and empty but we did come early). The service was nice. However, the food was rather lackluster. My mom ordered the lobster and enjoyed it (I guess I'd say I give this place 2.5) but my father and I both ordered the prime rib medium/medium well and there wasn't anything medium about either of our cuts. It was actually the most well-done prime rib I've ever had. Sad because it seemed like it had the potential to have been rather flavorful if it hadn't been left on too long. I expect more when I am paying a pretty penny for dinner. The macaroons for dessert were nice and the drinks were strong. However, everything else was not worth the cost. Great potential but poor execution. The yelp review star rating is low for a reason - they need to improve or get something new in this spot - as it is a really beautiful place it's a shame it's nothing special worth returning for. On a plus side, the bathrooms were clean though. I'll only return if I see it improving in reviews sometime but I don't hold my breath for that.

This is s great little place tucked away on the second floor of the Greektown Casino hotel. If you weren't in the casino, you wouldn't know it was even there. The Bistro is elegantly and modernly designed with big cushy chairs and wide tables covered in white linen. Overlooking Monroe Stree, you step in and think you are spending a huge sum of money on your lunch or dinner, Guess again. Bistro has several dishes for under 10 dollars if you can believe that and even feature a lunch prime rib special. The service is very good and the water glasses stay filled. I have been in here with a good friend of mine on many occasions and the food is pretty consistent. Parking in the garage for the casino is free so you don't have to worry about getting it validated. Best spot downtown for prime rib lunch.

Great food! Coconut shrimp is delicious. Service is slow but food is good and the prices are reasonable.

Came for a birthday dinner, the staff and Waiter (Alok) was really friendly & accommodating to our large reservation! The atmosphere is nice, we had a private room. The food however was only average unfortunately. There was only 1 dish out of the 19 orders that someone expressed how good it was (Cajun pasta). My dish, blackened Salmon lacked flavor. I'd give them another, maybe it was just a bad night for the cook?

I came here for a friends birthday and I really would NOT recommend anyone come here for a meal. The decor and ambiance is fairly nice, and it tricks you into believing your experience will also be nice. Put simply, the service was not good; scattered, and slow. The food was very basic, not hot, and not flavorful. Judging by the others reactions, no one was having a good time or enjoying their food. The other reviews also speak loud for the restaurant.

It is about what you would expect for a $12 breakfast buffet... we were greeted by the least friendly cashier ever who was snippy and annoying. It's a seat yourself deal, so you have to fight with the crowd for a table. The buffet is okay, but the scrambled eggs were so runny, I wasn't even sure if they were eggs. And just make sure you don't want an omelette or a waffle, the wait was nearly 20 minutes and the confusion of the line was nearly intolerable.

sorry, but there are a lot of other place in greektown to choose for breakfast. Most of the hot food on the buffet OS cold or lacking flavor. The inlet is ok. Biscuits are not freshly made, potatoes and Bacon were cold. You get a giant glass of ok, however I would prefer a smaller glass of a oj that tastes better. I ate here because of convenience. Next time I will walk down the street.

I have only had Bistro 555 in room service form, not dined in at the restaurant. The room service menu is a condensed version, but I've been happy with the food we ordered. Pizza, club sandwich and veggie tray all were a hit with the group. The room service is quick as well.

My husband and I came to the restaurant last night for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We thought the place was beautiful. The host was very friendly. We thought the food was a little pricey but we wanted to splurge because it was a special occasion. Our waiter wasn't very nice and had a bad attitude. He never asked my husband how he wanted his burger cooked. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu which came with a salad. The waiter asked what kind of dressing I wanted so i told him Ranch on the side. So he says "We always put the dressing in the side.". Then he brings out a salad with Italian dressing on it. He practically rolled his eyes when i told him that's not what i ordered. He then says "oh ok i didn't hear you say that you wanted the dressing on the side. You're going to have wait a few minutes." Okay that was fine. We told him it was our first time there and he asked if we were out of town. We told him why we there and he asked if we had kids so my husband said yes we have three. The waiter then says "wow, three in one year, you must be busy." I don't know if he thought he was being funny but i was mortified. Being a server in the past myself I thought that was a very rude thing to say to a customer. My husband's $12 cheeseburger was overcooked and his french fries looked like they had been warmed up in a microwave. He only ate half the burger and left the fries. My chicken was good but i could've made the same thing at home for a lot less money. After our plates were cleared the waiter was nowhere in sight for 15 mins. My husband and i went to the front desk to get our bill and pay. The person who took our money didn't ask us if everything was ok which i thought was rude. Overall we had a bad experience and will not be back.

I would not recommend you come to this spot. The downtown area has much more to offer. The buffet is very basic for example the frozen hash brown. I spent 30 mins waiting in line for an omelet while my wife sat waiting for me to get back to the table to eat. I finally had enough and requested a refund since 30 mins into it I still had 4 people ahead of me. The only good thing was the manger refunded us. The set up is horrible 1 person on the omelette station with a line of no less then 20 waiting. No idea why they don't just invest in a second set of burners and set up a second station. On top of that the beverage area was on the other side of the line with people needing to cross through the omelette line it made things very annoying. I get it most of the people are getting free meals or are being comped. But if im paying full price id like to get what I paying for. I'll chalk it up as a bad experience and will never take my business there again.

Overpriced food. All this place is there for is to trick people into thinking they are eating at a fancy restaurant when in reality its just some wherw to sucker people into using their greek town comps. High priced food so you blow through them quick. I can't imagine there is any real chef behind the doors. Ive ate better meals at Applebees for cheaper. Wifes Medium well steak was rare/raw. My Salmon was decent but it was a huge over attempt at trying to be a fancy dish rather than a tasty dish. Too many flavors. It was overkill. Half way through it I was regretting it. Never coming back here.

My boyfriend and I came to dine here yesterday for Valentine's day. We had reservations at 5, and were greeted nicely by the hostess. We were seated right away (as it isn't busy around 5). Upon entering Bistro 555, the atmosphere was completely different as to how it's pictured on the website. The restaurant looked colorful and bright in photos, but when we walked in, it was dim, dark, and colorless. It was quite disappointing! We ended up ordering the Valentine's day four-course dinner, which came with a Bruschetta Duo, Artisan Green Salad, Fire Grilled Filet, and Warm Chocolate Lava Cake. We were served with warm garlic bread and butter, which was delicious. The Bruschetta Duo was very good as well. We liked the Roasted Tomato with Aged Parmesan Bruschetta better than the Detroit popcorn and Crab Salad Bruschetta because it had more a spice/kick to it. The Artisan Green Salad was very good, and came with a yummy Smoked Tomato Quiche! The Fire Grilled Filet was very tender and flavorful. The Gruyere Dauohaniose potatoes were very crispy on the outside, but soft in the inside. Unfortunately the asparagus was way too salty. We finished off our dinner with the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The dessert was very good- warm, soft, and sweet! (I could do without the Raspberry sauce - it wasn't specified on the menu). The service was not bad. Our glasses were always filled, and as soon as we finished our plates, they were taken away. Our food came quickly (because it wasn't busy), as well. The only complaint I have would be that our waiter only came to ask us how everything was until we were eating dessert.

I will first list the positives. The lamb chops were phenomenal. Now with that being said. It's a Tuesday night and there is maybe 12 people here and that's counting the ones at the bar. Our server did not come to the table for about 15 minutes. When she did, she was most unpleasant. It took half an hour from that time to get our salads. Then a half hour after that our appetizer came. It cold bruschetta with extremely too much goat cheese. Then whenever out dinner arrived, the only good thing was the chops. The twice baked potatoes were not appetizing and my friends prime rib was subpar I will not be back to this place.

I have been going to this restaurant frequently over the past couple of years. I have noticed a strong drop in the quality and of the food leaving the kitchen. Today, after a 40 minute wait for the food, my mother-in-law's prime rib was cooked extremely rare and the steak on my steak salad was so raw it looked blue and was covered in grissel. The host was very polite, the manager was apologetic and did comp the two dinners but the food is not worth the prices charged.

Ordered the Ribeye for the girlfriend and it was very good. The crab cakes dinner I had ordered was so-so! The atmosphere was sub par and needs to be re thought out.

Chef's arrogance compromises food. What is Beer Chicken?, Pasta sauces with no depth, Overload on sandwhiches, Flat top cooked food, old dried out Ribs, Asparagus, asparagus, asparagus???? Entrees offer nothing of significants, How about more chicken (Kidding). Very Busch League and lazy Menu. The place is beautiful aside from the fact I can watch rats running in the alley. Fogging the lower section of glass is a must. In comparison to the classy cuisines the other Casino's have to offer. I see why Chef Michael Mina has Michelin stars and Bistro 555 Chef Steve Siekierzynski and his cronies are running a wanna-be joint outside an alley. For the amount of money put into the beauty, the menu reflects something I'd find at applebees, except I would enjoy Applebees. The management team really needs to think what it is they are going for, because the menu has ZERO substance. How a place so pretty inside is so dead, say's alot... Fire the Chef!! or redo the place to look like a Johnny Rockets and not some place that has a menu that hides behind the beauty of the restaurant. I could eat this crap anywhere. 1 Star alone because I don't like being fooled walking into a Classy looking restaurant to only be greeted with a crap-tastic menu. A casino and hotel that brags so much about itself needs to "Wow!!!" me not bluff me off the Casino floor...

Walking in to this restaurant you are immediately struck by the overall spaciousness with high ceilings and wide furniture. The odd thing is that there aren't many tables. I would rather it be that way than overcrowded, though. The decor is very modern and there are many booths that can accomodate 6 to 9 people. They have an event room in the back that privately seats up to 50 people. I had the cream of broccoli soup and cheesy pasta with chicken added. My friend had the mushroom stack with peel and eat shrimp. Everything was great. I appreciate that there is such a wide range of items and prices on the menu - literally something for everyone. Our waitress, Kristen, was great. She made suggestions on entrees and apps, drinks and checked on us often. The view from the restaurant is Greektown, but at night it's nicer because the city is lit up. Other reviewers are correct, in the daylight you mainly see the alley and the jail...which is why the interior design is even more appreciated. The bar is pretty small, but there are lounge chairs on the edges away from the stools. We chatted with a manager because we were planning to bring a group of up to 20 people to the restaurant in May. He offered to help us with a reservation and possibly coordinate a menu with another manager. Overall I like the place and will come back with friends.

I have been to bistro a handful of times and its all right,i have only had the small buffet that they offer and the last time I went there they have added a small pasta bar, the staff is nice and the price aint bad ( $12.99 ) but some of the meat 9 pork chops, chicken ) was ( what i had ) a little dry, but I found out that when they open the food court that that small buffet at bistro 555 will be no more, why...who knows

The service. Started out pretty good. Attentive and almost prompt. Things started to go down hill when she brought the bottle of wine. Seriously, I think it may have been her first time opening a bottle of wine. She struggled-it was comedic. The Food. I ordered the Filet. It was cooked as ordered and tasted great. Also a nice presentation. It was nice to be able to substitute sides as well. Erika ordered the salmon. It was pretty good and you could tell it was fresh as it didn't have a strong "fishy" taste. The sides were good too. Honestly, the food just did not seem to fit the service. It was actually good. The Atmosphere. It is killed by crappy service and the view of the back alley. If you are going to go here be sure to purchase a restaurant.com coupon first to make it worth the trip.

I don't really agree with the previous reviewer with regards to the food at Bistro 555. I just returned from dinner at the Bistro and liked it so much that I sat down to write a review. I was a bit surprised that the previous reviewer had such a bad opinion of the place. While I agree that Bistro 555 is not in the same league as the restaurants at MGM it doesn't deserve a 1 star !! Plus I like the fact that the menu has a options which span a wide price band. So you can still enjoy great ambiance even if you don't want to shell out $40 per person. My wife ordered the Baja Fish Taco's which was really nice. I order the Filet Mignon and it was cooked to perfection and served with its natural sauce. I didn't even think of asking for steak sauce, cause honestly it didn't need it. The bean n sausage soup was pretty good and I also liked the garlic mashed potatoes that came with the entree. While the entrees can be a bit on the expensive size specially if you go for the steak or lobster entrees. However my wife's tacos were only $10. The 3 tacos with a side of rice n beans is a pretty good sized meal for $10. I also really liked the warm breads that they bring to your table as soon as you are seated. They were coated with a kind of herb butter and were very good. The service was polite, prompt and left nothing to complain about. Overall I would rate my dinner experience to be very good and don't mind coming back here again.

I have been here quite a few times as they are connected to Greektown Casino and Hotel and they take comps. One benefit to 555 is that they can process comps directly from your Greektown Club Card so you don't need to go to the casino and wait in line first. As far as the food is concerned, it really isn't my favorite. I pretty much only like chicken and 555 simply doesn't have good chicken. This isn't just my opinion either -- everyone I've been with who has had chicken there says the same thing. The french fries are delicious, though! Yesterday I had the flourless chocolate tart cake for dessert and I have to comment... it was pretty bad. It may be the case that I simply don't like flourless, and if so, that's on me... but seriously, this dessert did not taste good. The number one thing about 555 has to be the ambiance... it's rather dark and very chic -- definitely my style. If you're looking for someplace quiet and relaxing to have a meal, the Bistro 555 is a good choice.

Very Good Breakfast, Extremely good dinners! Higher priced but worth it if you are staying at the Greek Town Casino Hotel. Had a romantic Dinner with my wife there about a year ago and it was a surprise and I was under dressed.
