1 star just seemed too mean, 3 is way too much. ok... so I get it, this place has it's ups and downs. I can read it in every review so, ya, I truly get it. And yes, I understand the 'trouble' it is to cook a bunch of pizzas when the 'dinner rush' comes in. I can only imagine the complexity of multiple pizzas with varying combinations of toppings that could fly in front of you being a local tomato pie shop manager. But Perry's Pizza, come on...COME ON! To be fair, when I say 'dinner rush' I mean the expected moment in the night that you get a ton of tickets for the orders that invariably increase during the hours of DINNER time. So you could say the 'dinner rush' is in no way a surprise; really more an event that you, the line cook, wait for every night. That means when I order a "well done large pepperoni pizza" and you tell me it will be at my door in 30 minutes, I expect all of those things to happen. Especially since we are talking about dough, sauce, cheese, pepperoni and enough money to keep the overhead paid in order to make this pizza happen. I mean, I kept my end of the bargain. I called when you were open, I used cash like you insisted, and I placed my order in a calm tone with a clear voice. All an effort for nothing. So when it gets to my door in 50 minutes, from 1.5 miles away, cold as the rain that's falling down, with plasticine cheese and rubbery pepperonis, not only has my pizza come 20 minutes later than promised but my night's dinner is pretty much over. Appetite lost, left to wonder, "which is more hard? The ability to make and deliver pizzas as you promise to your customers or the rubbery crust of cheese that covers the white, half-cooked dough that you just delivered me?". Thanks, when I call to get some sort of explanation from your manager, for putting Perry himself on. It seems strange to me that his thinking as a manager, and I presume owner/operator, is to blame what he calls a 'dinner rush' as to why my order was late but doesn't address why it wasn't even cooked correctly. Doesn't wanna talk about why it seems that the last four times I've ordered it's been hit or miss. Regrettably, you got me hooked the first time I ordered here and I've been chasing that dragon ever since. The one and only time I got a pizza I could see eating again from this place was sometime earlier this year. But since then they've failed three times and Mr. Perry's candid account of the 'dinner rush', immediately proclaiming, "well I just got here", put the cherry on top. I've worked at pizza places, I've worked at 5 diamond places, I know what it is to have a dinner rush, and as I've said earlier, I get it. But COME ON, Perry's, COME ON.

I have lived walking distance from Perry's for over four years and have never ordered. In my mind the price point with the coupons was always still a stretch. The good: Nice set up. You can watch them spin dough and make the pizza. They have old school ovens. The toppings were plentiful and it was evident they used fresh veggies and lots of cheese. The bad: The pizza was under cooked IMO. If you have a traditional style pizza oven, use it to your advantage. Don't take the Pizza out early. It was doughy. To me Pizza crust should hold firm, so that when I grab a piece and lift....all the toppings do not fall off. The sauce was just sauce, I wanted more flavor. I put the Pizza in the oven after the first two slices and finished cooking it. It went to a 3 star. Average. I saw them making the subs and they did look really good. If they use the same fresh ingredients on those, I am betting they would be a pretty good sandwich. Cash/Check only.

I've been coming here for years. I usually only order the round with one or two toppings. Not long ago I tried square with several toppings. It was very good. The perry stix are also good, order them with the mozzarella. I love the sauce so much I get a second sauce. Not too spicy, a bit sweet. I add some crushed red pepper to give it some kick. Salad is also good.

Large thin crust pizza with sausage, mushroom, green peppers, and onions, delivered promptly and hot. It was deelicious. Crust nice and crispy on bottom with plenty of toppings. We'll order again.

I've lived around the block from Perry's my whole life. I never started eating it until I was a teenager, but it is phenomenal pizza! It is definitely unique and not like the chain pizza places. One thing that I really appreciate aside from the pizza is how involved in the community Perry is. All of the appreciative decoration he has on the walls are a tribute to how much he gives back to the community that I grew up in! A fantastic restaurant and great ownership! Thank you, perry, for everything you do, and your yummy pizza!

What a nice locally owned pizza place! Place an order for up. Timely and delish! Love the sauce. Was told cheese sticks were a must. Sooo true! And I don't even like cheese.sticks typically. Perry's has made loyal customer out of me. Job well done.

Perry's Pizza is a neighborhood staple in the Clawson/Royal Oak area. They consistently offer a superior pizza in comparison to local competitors including Jets, Hungry Howie's, Happy's, Green Lantern, Pizza Hut, Dolly's and Barb's. Yes, they are that good. Outstanding bread sticks and they have a great deep dish as well. They don't have the budget to plaster people with coupons a hundred times a week so they don't get as much attention but for people in the know, they are one of the best pizzerias in town.

Was disappointed in the pizza. Tasted like frozen pizza in a box. Will not go back. Save your money on this pizza. Yuck.

My husband and I just moved to Clawson. We're all about local places and I LOVE to try new pizza places. A free pizza coupon came in our "welcome to Clawson" bag from the Chamber of Commerce, so we tried it. Very disappointing. At first I thought it was alright, but as I kept eating I realized a few things: 1) This ISN'T cheese I'm eating. It's some waxy, white substance made to loosely resemble cheese. Reminded me of elementary school pizza to a tee. 2) It was barely cooked - there was almost no browning on the "cheese" at all. 3) By the time I'd realized all this, I felt icky. Also, cash only. Don't do it.

I have a rule: "Cash only" loses you a star. Accepting cards is a necessary evil to do business in today's world. It's a real inconvenience to find out after the fact, and have to scramble to an ATM or get someone else to cover you. I avoid cash-only places on principal. So Perry's loses a star, and it was a star they couldn't afford to lose. My wife and I just moved to Clawson, and got a coupon for a free pizza in our welcome packet from the chamber of commerce. We decided to try Perry's and, since I felt compelled to make it worth their while, I ordered a second pie. Bad idea. I get to Perry's to pick up my order, which was placed 30 minutes earlier. I was surprised to find out that it would be another 15 minutes, making it 20 minutes later than the promised time on a day when they weren't busy. It is at this point that I am told that they do not take cards. Therefore, I am now forced to drive down the street and find an ATM. So essentially my free pizza cost me $4.50 in various ATM/bank fees. Other reviewers mention that the place looks shabby. Outside of cleanliness, appearance is not important to me when I'm getting carry-out, so I was good with the postage stamp-sized waiting area. The pizza was mediocre at best. The sauce was undistinguished. The cheese can't possibly be real. There's no friggin' way. It was like a thick layer of silly putty, but with less flavor. Let me put it this way; I'm a fat guy who loves his pizza, and It takes a hell of a lot to keep me from eating the leftovers. The rest of Perry's went straight to the garbage. I won't be back.

I'm all about the sides of pizza sauce when I get cheese sticks and Perry's has some great sauce! The service is always great, the prices are more than fair and the orders come up pretty quickly.

I ate at Perry's Pizza a couple weeks ago for the first time and have been craving the cheese sticks ever since. I picked up a carry out order tonight and drove all the way to West Bloomfield. On my way home, i could absolutely not control myself to dip into those cheese sticks. I must say i did eat a couple bites in the car ride home. This order was just as delicious as my first time. Perfect amount of melted cheese and parmesan on top of hot thick fresh bread. Perry asked me if i wanted to add pepperoni or additional items but i it was perfect just the way it was. People, these are not your average cheese sticks. Run, drive, walk, hop on a bike or take a shuttle car or limo to Perry's Pizza and get you some cheese sticks!
