Breakfast food is your typical average greesy spoon. One waitress is an absolute doll the other is just all right. She ever came back to offer anything or ask how we were. So when my sister asked for a refill beverage to go (because she never got one while we sat) she was told it would cost her anther full price drink. Really? You could do better.

We love Old Village Cafe! The Farmers Omelet is great! Waitstaff is friendly and fast. My wife loves the Pancakes with blueberries. Perfect small-town breakfast place.

This place is always busy and has great great food and service. Today , we ordered the Farmers Omelette, which was delicious...the crispy potatoes inside all lots of flavor. Prices are reasonable. $8 for the omelette. Waitstaff are great, kitchen is clean. Highly recommend.

This is a small diner that is definitely a clarkston favorite for breakfast and lunch. They feature great omelets (especially Greek), awesome skillets, one heck of a tuna fish sandwich, pancakes and much much more! Service is always very fast but I wish the waiters were a little more friendly. The inside is nothing great but nothing too bad either. Also, they have very very reasonable prices.

Stopped at the great little diner on the way up North. The chicken noodle soup was awesome! The chicken breast pita Greek style was also very good. Good place. Will come again if we are in the area.

Horrible service. Ice cold eggs. Never got the toast. Both drinks were wrong. Overcharged. Had to ask for everything! Not going back

Came here after we stopped at the Union which had an hour and a half wait. It was very busy (probably with the overflow from down the street). But we waited for only a few minutes and got a quiet table on the side of the building , which was perfect for us. We were never forgotten about. My coffee was kept full throughout our time there. I ordered an omelette (HUGE by the way) and soooo yummy. The American fries were perfectly golden and buttery. The toast was kinda hard and a bit burnt but I didn't go there for the toast so that didn't bother me much. All in all, it was a great experience. Typical mom and pops breakfast joint but definitely NOT a greasy spoon. Great job!

Service was substandard. Why is it so hard to see your customers in a small place. During the meal, it wasn't any better. Toast came out hard as a rock. Eggs undercooked.

I've been into going to quaint little towns & looking for their local eateries. Today, I was driving through Clarkston and decided to stop in. I was again eating at an off-time, so there weren't many people there. (A large group left shortly after I sat down.) Their menu looked pretty ordinary -- mostly sandwiches, a few salads and lots of breakfast -- so I wasn't expecting much. I ordered the turkey melt with fries. Well, the fries weren't that good -- they were pretty obviously the frozen crinkle-cut kind, and they hadn't been cooked quite long enough; they still had that pale, anemic look to them However, the sandwich was a different matter. The first surprise was that it came on marbled rye bread -- hearty and good. The cheese, while probably pasturized proccess, was melted nicely and did have a decent Swiss cheese flavor. But the best part was that it was REAL turkey -- not that "lunch meat" stuff that's always salty and tasteless. That in itself is a reason to go there. The server was very friendly and accommodating as well. Should I be in Clarkston again, I would certainly consider a return visit.

I go out to eat often and this restaurant is consistently perfect. From the french toast with the fruit baked inside the bread to the awesome breakfast skillet to the melt in your mouth roast beef that is so tender for lunch. Hardly any wait to receive your food and the wait staff is so friendly.

I came here with a friend for brunch. We were seated promptly and the waitress was pretty attentive in taking our orders and asking if we needed anything. I got two eggs and a half stack of pancakes and I can't complain. They did a good job and the prices were very reasonable. I'd come back if I was in the area again.

We've been here for breakfast a few time on Sunday's after church. It's always been busy and always been ok. Not the cheapest breakfast in the area and not a very adventurous menu. If you want some eggs they're fine. I'd ask for my hashbrowns well done if I were you. They tend to come out a little soggy.

Love little family owned diners, great service and yummy home cooked breakfast! We ordered the standard eggs, hash browns, bacon, pancakes and toast; typical breakfast but it was perfect! Great fast service too and always had our drinks filled. We were visiting for a dance competition and this was just down the street from the high school. Located on a cute downtown main st.

I'm surprised this place is as well rated as it is. In a word: awful. The food was greasy and salty with no other real taste and the service wasn't great (she kept forgetting about us). The price wasn't bad, but I guess you get what you pay for. I won't be back.

Great place for breakfast especially if you're extra hungry. The portions are HUGE! All prepared as ordered and served with a smile. Great staff and food. I ordered the salad special of the day... gigantic and delicious. I ate it for two days.... They now have seating at a few tables outside which is nice, it's sometimes a bit warm inside.

After driving by this little place on the corner every day on my way to work, I could wait no longer to go in. I made a breakfast date with a friend and finally got to see what this place was all about. It's right in the downtown area of Clarkston which is totally quaint and cute I might add. The place is small but charming. The have tables and booths for accomodations. I got just a normal breakfast; eggs, homefries, yes those, not the shredded hashbrowns, bacon and toast. It was all delish and the service was outstanding. Our waitress must have come over to check on us at least 6 times. My friend got one of their omelettes..um HUGE! It was hanging over the edges of the plate. This place was great. A little toasty in there due to the griddle being in the open where you can see your meal being made and on a side note, you had to park in a lot across the street and walk over. It's a classy little diner in my book.

On 8-4-12 I went to the Old Village Cafe for the first time for a late breakfast with my daughter. It was around noon and they were not very busy. We were seated in a booth immediately and the waitress took our order for coffee. When she returned with the coffee I told her we needed just one more minute to decide. I watched as the waitress then sat down at the counter seating area by the cash register. The waitress proceeded to eat a meal while talking to another waitress who was behind the counter. I thought.....ok, maybe she is going to take a bite or two and come over to take our order. Nope! I sat there for 10 minutes watching her continue to eat and talk. No one else ever came over. She was halfway through her meal at which point I got up, paid almost $4 for the two cups of coffee and we then walked out.....NEVER to return. Wow.....with the tough economic times you would think one could expect at least mediocre service when extending patronage to a local business. I absolutely recommend this place be avoided!!!!
