What a great little find! Food was great, portions were big enough for two people to share....... Would return if ever in the area again, the chef even made a table side appearance and my young children said "Mom he is really not that fat" !

In love with the pizza here....we drive 30 minutes just to get it....$5 one topping mediums on Sunday. Awesome salads too! Pizza dough tastes fresh and homemade...never had a disappointing trip here

I wish this place had more market type items...but it may be a good thing that it doesn't, or I would be spending my whole paycheck here. My boobear and I decided to eat dinner here one night and was pleasantly happy with our sandwiches. I got the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with pickle spear and my boyfriend got the roast beef sandwich. My sandwich had a little too much mayo, but the cranberries in the mix helped. My boo says his sandwich "was really good." I'm not much of a roast beef fan, so I didn't try it. The only downside about this place is the price. The place looks really empty and can become really quiet because its big and doesn't have very much food items. I think this place can be quite impressive if they decide to put more stuff to sell.

Great pizza that melts in your mouth and a rather limited selection of sandwiches, however, those are also fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Village Market for a more "homemade" taste. If you live in Cherry Hill Village the Village Market has an extremely convenient location at the front of the neighborhood by Coldstone that most can easily walk to.

My husband and I just moved in to Uptown Apartments, right across Cherry Hill Road from this fine establishment. We went on a bike ride one evening, deciding to stop in at the Cold Stone around the corner. After sitting by the fountain in the little square, enjoying our ice cream, we noticed a bunch of people congregating near a little store front. We went over to check out the hours, because we noticed it was like a little general store. Once the manager saw us outside, he offered to let us in to look around, even though he was closing up. We were just delighted to find something like this in our area...Ford Road and everything that goes along with it is very close, but it can be quite congested and a little crazy, depending on the time of day/construction/etc. This place is perfect for us to ride our bikes to, just to grab a few convenience items, like a gallon of milk or something, or nice to ride over for a dinner at one of their outside tables. The selection of food is pretty good for a place that hasn't been open long. The grocery items are still filling up, but you can find most things that you need...some produce items, Stacy's Pita Chips, pastas and sauces, snack foods, and lots of local items as well. We've had dinner here twice, and the food was delicious! We've tried the following sandwiches: chicken salad, turkey & swiss, grilled cheese, roast beef...and also had the lemon bar and the dream bar. Their pasta salad that accompanies the sandwiches is nice too. My husband also tried their antipasto salad and liked it. Besides just the food being good and the store being really nice inside, the management and staff are incredible. For example, I stopped in on my way home from work today because I had forgotten to get taco seasoning when I went grocery shopping last week. I thought they might have it. They didn't, BUT...one of the guys went to the back and GAVE me some fajita seasoning that he had on hand, from the kitchen! And it was more than I needed, and he wouldn't let me pay him anything! I mean, who does that anymore? I was so taken aback by their kindness. So, this place is small, it is local, and it is run by really great people. If you live close by, you should totally come by for some coffee on your way to work, or some lunch or dinner. They will also be adding a bakery very soon...like an official bakery (cakes and stuff). Let's support local businesses that are treating people right and really serving a need in the community. I can't wait to see what this place becomes. They've won me over as a loyal customer. :)

Found this place by accident. Was just taking a walk. It's kind of in a residential area. I entered the restaurant and the waitress/hostess looked confused. She didn't know what I was doing there. I then asked if they had the option to dine in and if I could see a menu. She provded me with a three ring binder and invited me to sit down. They basically offer sandwiches, salads, and pizza. I had their grilled cheese sandwich which wasn't great except for their bread! It was like biting into a little cloud. Outstanding! It came with bacon, tomatoes and "sauteed onions". The onions were not sauteed and there were more than a person would generally want (unless you are my dad). I ended up picking off about half of them. Sandwiches only come with the option of broccoli salad or potato salad. Kind of odd. No chips, no soup, no fruit.... I had the broccoli salad which was good. They gave me a ton of it! Only bad thing is that there was a little bit too much sauce. It looked like broccoli in a bowl of milk. That, too, had a ton of onions and bacon as well. The ambiance leaves something to be desired. Its kind of decorated, but kind of not. I'm not quite sure if they are trying to decorate a catering area or or catering in a cafe that needs to be decorated... Service was really slow. The waitress was nice, but it was SLOW! Like I mentioned, they offered pizzas, which look fantastic! If I get back to that area, I would get a pizza......

The food here is awesome! I had the Carnivore Pizza (medium is huge) and my wife had Godfather sandwich w/Fat Chef Mac n Cheese both were fantastic. Let me put it this way, I won't be ordering pizza from Jet's or Howie's any time soon! Our server Roxanne was very attentive, funny and helpful with our selections and the owner Dave stopped by our table as well. Check them out on Facebook to see pictures of their signature dishes. The place is easy to miss. It is on the left side of the street as soon as you turn on Independence. See you guys soon!

This place has great pizza and even better desserts. Definitely recommend straying from your usual pizza place for this.

1 star is still to high of a rating! My catered ordered from the fat chef which was pre-ordered two days prior to the requested date was 45+ minutes late. This is my second attempt to use the fat chef as a caterer, only to be disappointed for the exact same reasons: lack of professionalism and very poor ability to provide food at the scheduled time. If you need a caterer for any event, I would highly suggest staying away from the fat chef. It could cause you a very embarrassing situation as an event coordinator or meal planner. Message to the fat chef: It is not acceptable to start to prepare the meal AT the expected delivery time, especially for a large order. If, as a business owner you are concerned about "no-show" clients, please require a deposit when the order is placed. I live in the neighborhood and most of my guests were also people who live in the neighborhood. They are all very aware of your poor customer service & I suggest you make big changes to try to improve your reputation.

I consider myself a vegan. Though I do believe that there's time for you to not be strict about it if you're following the diet for health reasons, as I am. If you ever want to indulge in some really good pizza this is the place to go! Sure, my stomach was kind of messed up from the large amounts of dairy however, I still believe it's worth it! The pizzas are made fresh and they take about 20 to 30 minutes to make. However the crust gives me a reminiscence of a Chicago pizza. Where the crust is almost like good thick bread or a very good biscuit. They put your traditional Domino's pizza too freaking shame! I will say that they are very heavy handed on the cheese, so if you're not really into that ask for lite cheese. If you're in a rush, I'm sure you can always call ahead. Also, be aware that this place is very kid friendly. They have little chairs and a table for children and usually during non-school hours there are a bunch of kids running around here. I'm just throwing that out there just so people know that if you want to go for a date, it's best to sit outside on a good day. It's also a little tiny mini. Nothing fancy or exotic but they do have really good quality stuff. According to my best friend's brother-in-law, they have the best chocolate milk in the world. Why this is I don't know since I don't drink chocolate milk, but I figured that's important fact for some. The service seems to be very friendly and helpful. Also, it's small but I've never seen it extremely busy. That's not to say you should never call and ask if there's a wait because this place has some bomb ass pizza!

The mac and cheese is to die for. I would bath in this stuff. This is truly a hidden gem!

Not impressed. Sandwiches taste flavorless and take forever... I would advocate for this place since I live nearby but the many times I gave it a try the results were the same. Once the guy (who seemed extremely aloof) behind the counter was eating while ringing my order up. It was gross.

We had been wishing for a corner store and a restaurant to open up ever since we moved to Cherry Hill Village, and with this place we got both. We've been here several times and the food has always been very good, but the best item on the menu is probably the eight-cheese pizza, which might be my favorite local pizza. Sandwiches are good too, particularly the Fat Chef Grilled Cheese and the Monte Cristo. Sandwiches always come with a really good, fresh-tasting side like potato salad or macaroni salad. I've seen signs out occasionally for burger and pulled-pork specials, but have not made it in on those nights. I was also told by an employee that they plan to have full dinners soon. Definitely looking forward to that. It would be nice if there was more indoor seating (they only have a handful to tables and all are for parties of two) especially when the weather gets too cold to sit outside, and I wish they had more breakfast/brunch items (only bagels and pastries now), but altogether this is a great place and a very welcome addition to CHV.

I rarely write reviews and I'm typically pretty easy on restaurants-years working in them has made me pretty tolerant. However Fat Chef recently received strike 3 so here goes. I would like to start off by saying we are local and really want local places to do well. I've tried this place several times hoping that I have just chosen the wrong menu item but I have yet to find a sandwich that I enjoy. My last visit I wasn't even able to finish it. So here is how our last visit went... My family dined in one Friday night-my husband, myself and two small children. We started by ordering my daughter something and went on to order an appetizer. The server returned to take our order, got my husbands and started walking away. Excuse me-I would like to order something as well. We ordered and subbed our sides for mac&cheese. We waited forever! Eventually my husbands food came. Mine probably came out about 5-10 minutes later. Annoying but not a huge deal. They forgot to sub our mac&cheese. Again not a huge deal. I dig into my sandwich. I wasn't able to force it down. It was bread with some burnt tasteless roast beef, black cheese and overly peppered au jus. I picked at it knowing I should have some yummy m&c coming. Eventually the m&c came, first my husbands followed by mine sometime later. It was hot and steamy on the outside and FROZEN in the middle. By now I was done. In addition to the poor food and inconsistent expediting there was no ventilation. It was bad enough that I left with the kids before my husband finished his meal because it was burning our eyes. When we asked the server she said it was always like that. I did give 2 stars because the owner and employees do seem to be friendly, some friends seem to like it and when I've had pizza at a friends it seemed good enough. I really hope he works on his menu. We really want it to be successful

My husband and I are big advocates of downtown Cherry Hill Village. It's for that reason we try to stop by and support small business whenever we get the chance. On Saturday, we stopped by the village market to grab a quick bite to eat (we were drawn in by the sign posted outside, "2 Bratwursts + Chips = $2.00!") - can't beat that for the price! Naturally, for such a simple order, we thought we would be quick in and quick out, but unfortunately, that ended up not being the case. What we thought would take 5-10 minutes for our order, ended up taking 30 minutes in total (and this was after I had to ask about the status of my order 15 minutes in). Apparently, the Village Theater across the street had just let out from a show and numerous catering orders were being worked on. From what I could see, the kitchen and staff were completely overwhelmed. Things were disorganized and the staff and owners were scrambling to get orders out, but no one was communicating with one another nor were they giving customers a status of their order. In the end, the food itself was very good and the deal combo was unbeatable for the price. We'll try this the village market again, but hope that the owners and staff will improve how they run the business, regardless of the time of day and volume of customers.
