Stopped in here on a whim with mild expectations based on the strip mall location and coney island decor, but we left quite happy with the food and service. My salad was huge and had fresh veggies, tasty chicken, and a nice dressing. The rest of the family had a mix of sandwiches, breakfast foods, and main dishes and all left happy and full. A notch better than the typical neighborhood Coney Island. We will be back.

Again I visited Red Olive and the service was great, the lunch I had was way more than I could eat and very reasonablly priced. I highly recommend Red Olive Canton

So I've been curious about this place for a while. I pass it quite often on my way up to the shopping area of Ford Rd. It's built in (you guessed it) a strip mall and seems almost brand new. It's set a little ways back from the road and seems a little forlorn and lost in it's place next to a Dairy Queen and a bank. Upon entering I was greeted with a bright and well decorated space much nicer than your average Coney. Which is fitting, since this is NOT your average Coney. It was nearly empty though, which worried me. Then I saw the menu... This thing is HUGE!! Four full pages front and back covering everything a Mediterranean place SHOULD cover and then some! And the pictures looked great. Out of the 20-30 salads they offered I honestly had a hard time choosing. All of them looked so good but I settled on the Mango salad with chicken. But seriously, they serve a LOT of different things, from Middle Eastern combo plates to deli sandwiches to, well, every salad you can think of. My salad came out soon and it was as big and beautiful as the menu picture had indicated, which doesn't happen often in most places. Fresh spring greens (a must) formed the base which was then topped with tomatoes, Kalamata olives, gouda cheese, 3 healthy slices of ripe mango, cucumber, and succulent grilled chicken. I got mine with a side of raspberry vinaigrette which tasted good but was a little on the gooey side. I think I prefer that to excessively oily though ,and it served to allow me to keep it on the side and dip my fork in it before each bite. The only off-putting thing about the salad was the olives. I only found three and they didn't add much to the equation. In fact, because they were not pitted I almost bit down quite hard on one that got lost in the color of the rest of the salad. Personally I would either take them out completely or pit them and add more. But the salad was perfectly delectable without them. The service was prompt and friendly and I left satisfied but not stuffed, which is exactly what I was looking for. Definitely need to go back and sample more.

When I saw neon signs indicating Greek food lies within, I presumed this was a diner / Greek coney type restaurant. While I was right, my first visit to the Red Olive let me know this local establishment is actually a step above all that. The menu is HUGE. Lots of choices, ranging from wraps and salads, Mediterranean, Greek, and Italian. I ordered a wrap with fries that I enjoyed. My friend ordered a spinach pie and was equally satisfied. Portions are generous and prices are good. Check your local flyers for coupons to make this place an even better deal. The restaurant is nicely furnished and clean. I also think it is promising for easy and tasty take-out too.

We enjoy eating here. The kids love the good and we like the Greek salad and tabbouleh. The price is right and the quantity is fantastic. Well worth a try!

Food is what you would expect for a Coney island restaurant, but the tables are in need of a good cleaning. Tables are tacky to the touch like they only get wiped down with a damp cloth and not really cleaned. Dirty dust is hanging down from the lights in the food preparation area, God only knows what is falling into your food, please clean the place. The wait staff was friendl enough and food came out rather quickly and was hot. Again, the place is somewhat dirty and in need if a good cleaning. Won't be back unless it gets cleaned.

My wife and I came in here fo a quiet dinner, along with a Restaurant.com coupon. Suffice it to say, we did not have the best service experience. We were seated and waited about 9 minutes with no drinks, no silverware, and no hello from the server. My wife had to go to the kitchen area where all the servers, the hostess, and the "manager" were standing around doing nothing. We almost walked out, but the server apologiezed and we stayed knowing our meal would only cost about 5 bucks thanks to the coupon. The food was good, fries were hot, my clam strips were golden, hot and delicious, and the patty melt was nothing out of the ordinary. I have not tried anything adventurous here, but then again, the only reason we come here is because we have coupons. I will probably give this place one more chance as long as its with a coupon. Just a side note... I tottally get when it's busy, it might take the full 9 minutes for a server to get to my table. There were only 2 other tables filled at 7:30PM on a Tuesday night. But time it for yourself. Just sit for 9 minutes at your kitchen table and imagine you're waiting for water or to even be greeted by your restaurant server. It kind of puts a bad taste in your mouth from the very beginning.

just not that great. knew the omelets would be cheaper than driving over to ann arbor to cafe maries. our mistake. one waitress really hoofed it to get customers started. our waitress was in no hurry and disappeared for so long we had to call the other to get out of the place. my vegetarian omelet had a funky taste, probably because it was cooked in the grease rendered from the meat frying on the same grill. but one just doesn't send anything back these days. toast- common (bad) wonder bread style, and not even fully toasted. won't complain about the hash browns -nice and browned tho hubby's were somewhat raw. there has to be a better place for breakfast in canton!

I stopped in here after getting my hair did because it was convenient and has never disappointed me. I usually go for their salads because they are fresh and ready made. The grilled chicken on the salads is spiced with greek seasoning and really good. If you prefer plain old chicken, you likely won't enjoy it. There are plenty of other options on the menu, it's huge. Speaking of huge, the portions are as well. I've never had bad service here, and it's likely because I go at odd times. I wouldn't run here as my first choice, but I certainly wouldn't run from this place.

Here I am finishing my meal here after driving up and down canton center trying to find somewhere to eat. Low and behold, we find red olive. It wasn't busy for a Saturday night, so I figured I was hungry and tried it. I order a Greek sampler and added a Greek salad. Confusion begins as it turns out they also have a Greek combo which is just a gyro and a salad which I was served. Server disappears forever and I am hungry. She finally brings out the bill after not refilling drinks or taking plates (new maybe) and confesses the mistake about the combo. Sigh. Anyways, this is a Greek place so a gyro should be fab, right? It was stuffed well but the lamb was way overcooked to the point of being like bacon. The final insult is if you sign up for the mailing list, you get a 20% off coupon. I got it, but lacking a printer in my car, I asked if I can just show my phone and was rejected. Bear in mind there are no special codes or anything on the coupon. Needless to say, I won't be back.

My reviews of this restaurant are mixed.... The service was fantastic! I went in early in the day to get a takeout menu and the young man was so kind. When I called in later in the afternoon, the staff person was nice and when I went in about 20 minutes later to pick up my order, the lady was as sweet as pie. I had a Groupon and ended up ordering a couple of sandwiches for me, myself, and our friend. My hubby and our friend had the tuna salad on toast and said it was pretty good. The sandwiches didn't come with anything other than a pickle so I ended up ordering a couple sides of fries. It's not fair to judge the fries given we had take out,but I will say I hope they are better in the restaurant. I ordered a turkey sandwich because as I read it, it sounded good and it came on an onion roll. I love onion rolls. When I got home I noticeed it wasn't on an onion roll and was on toast. It was way too much too be on toast and there was way too much mayo. I didn't care for the sandwich. Overall, they have a great menu. You can order breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Service is great and they prices are reasonable. I'd suggest it!

This place is one of my favorite locations in the area for a some good Greek/Mediterranean food. I especially love the Hummus and the Grilled chicken salads. There is nothing like a really good Greek Salad with Grilled chicken. They do it well with thick strips of well seasoned breast of chicken. The chicken is still warm when it comes to the table. I went to another place recently for a chicken salad and it was bad. They had CUBED chicken that was bland. It made me appreciate this place more. The lemon chicken soup is also good. They also have warm friendly service. There was a new girl this time around who seems kind of nervous but overall usually good service.

Considering I only got take out, this should probably be a 3.5, but I'll give them the ups for exceeding my expectations. I always see this place advertising in the local "save a lot" flyers, and I tend to be a bit weary of places that aren't "new" that are still advertising. What caught my eye though was "$3.95 any omelet- 7am-11am M-Sat." I love me some breakfast, and at that price, it would hard to not meet expectations. Their menu is "quite extensive." If you doubled the selection of your standard Coney Island, you'd have their menu. They have daily lunch specials as well, but my mind was already set on ordering breakfast. My wife went with the meat lover's omelet (ham, sausage, bacon, and cheese) and I went with the Country Omelet (bacon, onions, green peppers, and cheese). I know what you're thinking, how did my wife get an omelet with more mean than myself? Quite frankly, I do not have a good answer..... it was still early(?). When I went to go pick up our food, the place looked pretty small. It's situated in a strip mall next to a salon and Chinese joint. When I walked in, the place looked relatively new. The place said maximum occupancy was "92", but there didn't seem to be anyway this place could hold that many people. I paid about $8 for two omelets, both came with hash browns and toast. Now, $8 for two omelets, I wasn't planning on anything mind blowing, and truth be told, the food was just ok. But for the price, and the quantity of food, this may become a new Saturday morning tradition. OVERALL- good price, large quantity and wide variety- yeah, I'll be coming back. My dad loves it here. He is hooked on the lamb shank and the rice pudding. I like it because it is a place I can meet him and have choices that do not kill my carb rations for the whole day or further block my arteries. The salads here are awesome. The variety alone (over 25 different salads) will astound you but what they put in front of you is ginormous portions and always fresh. The village salad is tasty with all the veggies and the fat free greek is actually decent The Oriental salad is badly named but delicious. I am also a fan of the Michigan salad, the chicken, avocado and mango, the strawberry and avocado and the goat cheese and avocado. The waldorf here is not a mess in mayo but rather a deconstructed delight. Both the chicken and salmon options as toppers are great in the salads. Not dried out dreck but flavorful and cooked properly, rare at most places. The stir fries are tasty as well. Big enough for two meals as a general rule, especially if you upgrade to a greek salad to go with. I had some of my dad's gyro one afternoon and it was reasonable but not as stellar for my tastebuds, he loved it but he eats his gyros drowned in sauce. Service is friendly, carryouts are fairly painless. Everyone there is very pleasant and things seems to move along at a brisk pace which is nice. I always get plenty of refills and attention but I go in with my dad and he tends to be popular like that wherever he goes. I recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably healthy place with lots of options.

I'm always impressed with this place. Great food, great service, and a good atmosphere go a long way. And yes, the menu is massive. Be prepared to go in with an idea of what you want- that should narrow your decision making down to less than 3 pages. Last time I was here, I got a lunch combo of a classic gyro and baby Greek salad. Each one was somehow more delicious than the other. For the price (couldn't have been more than $7), I got a lot of great-tasting food, and couldn't have been happier. My only complaint is that the Greek salads do not have enough olives. If your restaurant is going to have the O word in it's name, you should probably pride yourself on them. Instead, my baby Greek only had 1 olive (maybe 2, max). And no, they weren't pitted.

I went back to try some breakfast. The omelet I got was dull and boring. I find it very odd that a place that has Greek food has such bland feta cheese. The portion was enormous, but it was enormous and bland. There was a small mountain of hash browns with it, also with no flavor. The coffee was still good and the service was again terrific.

Hummus was very good n' garlicky. Warm Pita was excellent. The combo, excellent! I had the Chicken Stir Fry, very big, very good. My wife had the Chicken Gyro. I was okay but she would get something else next time. The Lentils Soup she said was canned (she makes superb Lentils). I didn't know but hers is better. Place is very clean. Waitress was friendly and pretty and helpful. We will go back for sure. Did I mention the Hummus was really good?

I like this place, it looked really promising first time I saw it open, and today after trying out their food, I think they didn't really quite measure up par. I spent over $70 for 4 kids, and 2 adults. Steak's were nicely cooked, but shrimp didn't look fresh. Kids burger were a good portion. My daughter loved her Chicken Strip wrap. I am told BBQ ribs aren't Halal. and Lamp Shank was a bit on Salty Side. But at the end I think good portions, excellent service, Price make it worth coming back.

Inexpensive. Mix of Greek and American diner food. Little too greasy for my taste

Stopped in a few weeks ago and got a Greek combo. The food was just OK, but plenty of it! Nothing was really excellent about it. Service was a bit slow, but no big deal. Today I stopped in for breakfast. I was seated & the host brought me water. The waitress in my section came by a few minutes later & took the order of a couple in the adjacent booth. She looked over at me, turned & walked away. Not a word said to me. Wait...did I have boogers on my face??? Nope, I checked out clean. So I waited while orders were taken at other tables, and food was delivered. 15 MINUTES later, I calmly got up, made eye contact with the waitress, and walked out. Last time they'll see me. To Management - You need to work on the attitudes of your wait staff. They're costing you business!

Thank goodness for the internet! I was able to look at Red Olive's menu and found out that they had some authentic Greek specialties for carry out. When I went to pick up my lunch at China House, I placed an order for dinner at the Red Olive. The Red Olive is a small, very clean, stylish diner. Some of Canton's finest were having lunch (that's always a good sign), and the manager was quick to help me order. Kelly, the manager was very helpful in putting together a menu of lamb shank and rice pilaf, Greek combo platter, and for good measure, grape leaves, hummus and Greek salad. She told me that one of the owners was Greek and that's why they have classic Greek food. When I got home, I put the dinner in the refrigerator and six hours later reheated it. They did a lovely job of wrapping everything. No leakage, the styrofoam containers were wrapped with cling wrap and everything was labeled. I had upgraded to the Greek salad for my appetizer and there was enough for three people! The important part, everything reheated well. The lamb shank was tender and meaty: it was well-paired with rice pilaf and broccoli. The Greek combo had pastitsio,( a Greek macaroni casserole), moussaka, or eggplant casserole, and gyro meat. Next time I would see if I could substitute the gyro meat, maybe see if I could get a shish kabob instead, but would definitely go back for the rest! The only disappointment was the hummus, it was tart to the point of bitterness and lacked a smooth garlic flavor. Would I go back, yes! I'm happy to have found a place for some Greek lamb and moussaka!

Thank you for your 20% off coupon through your website... But I'm not sure if it was even worth it. The sliced almonds and/or vermicelli noodles were missing in your rice pilaf. And if that's how you prepare it, don't oversell it... just call it for what it is! Rice. In fact the rice was crunchy and dry with yellow coloring. I've had rice a roni that tasted better. I ordered 2 sides to feed 4 people and none of us ate it. Over $5 well spent. Most of our order was wrong. I specifically ordered Arabic bread for our hummus, and said we didn't want pita. The person on the phone assured me that I would get bread, but alas we still got the flimsy pita. For the amount you charge for hummus, our containers looked a quarter full. I ordered a few sides of garlic sauce and those were forgotten. Along with my meat grape leaves. But the hostess said she didn't charge me for that because she didn't write that order down. I wouldn't have known because they didn't even provide a receipt. I just had to take her word for it. Overall the food wasn't even that good. The mostaccioli was basically over boiled pasta with meat sauce slopped on. I don't even think you should even call it mostaccoli... Maybe just take it out of your menu entirely. Or at least bake it. Show us that you care about your zealous menu! What went so wrong? I've been here a few times but every visit has gone down hill. I'm very disappointed. My love for your Greek salad just isn't enough for me to come back. Thanks but no thanks.
