I LOVE their bi bim bap (in the hot stone, of course). Super filling, if you have it for lunch, you don't want dinner. The veggie tempura appetizer is also something I find myself craving. The staff is friendly and helpful. One of Canton's best restaurants!

DO NOT eat here unless you want projectile diarrhea! We saw the sushi chef drop raw fish on the floor, pick it up, rinse it in a bucket of stagnant water, then cut it up and served it as sashimi! We complained to the older Japanese waitress and she just shrugged her shoulders! Unbelievable! WARNING! DO NOT EAT HERE!!! The health department should shut this place down!

Very friendly service! Great tasting food, really creative sushi rolls made with fresh ingredients. Try the friend tempura avocados with honey!!!! It's so good!

Not only was my solo date with myself a success, and having been going here for years and knowing the food is great, but tonight I achieved sushi nirvana. The food was exceptionally fantastic. Best in years. But I am always greeted with smiles and kindness. I shared a roll with the table next to me, the waiters shared their dinner with me later, and even though I tried to pace myself, found that 2 hours later I was in heaven with a full belly and a never ending smile on my face. I tipped $30 on a 67 tab, because it was just that amazing. I have never been as excited about a meal as I am tonight. So much so, that this is my first yelp review. I tried new sashimi that normally I'd shy away from, and was delightfully impressed. I can't stress it enough, these chefs are the best in town.

My wife and I had a date night. My sister took our kids to a carnival. It seems strange without them. I am happy that I chose this restaurant for our date night. Good food. But even a better waiter - Don. Thank you Don for making our date night so great ! The Udon noddles with tempura was incredible, the sushi - spot on. The soft shell crab - YUM ! We ordered the bento box with Bulgogi, sushi, edamame, etc. And California rolls. My critiques are the Bulgogi and no rice. The Bulgogi was just o.k. and this meal should have came with rice. Bulgogi is always served with rice. This is how it is served is Asia. Many restaurants do not box your food at the end of the meal. This restaurant does. To me, this is class ! The sushi menu at this restaurant will blow your mind

Located in a scary little strip mall, this tiny hole in the wall joint is hiding. The pages of the menu stick together, you can hear the motor on the refrigerator straining along with the traditional music softly playing. Two sushi chefs and a waitress. The gyoza is delightful, flavorful and light not greasy. Like little pot stickers. Lots of special rolls feature egg, cream cheese, cooked fish or a combination. But there are a few raw gems hiding. But! Not a whole lot of flavor to the fish, the rice is bland and you need to drown it in soy sauce.

Excellent meal... No pics because I'm a pig. The miso soup was tasty. The house salad dressing was really good (little more vinegar than other ginger dressings, which made it really good), sushi was fresh and tasty. I'm sad I can't come back tomorrow (coworker doesn't like sushi)!

Worst sushi I've ever had. I don't have the words to describe.... Grocery store sushi is better. Our carry out bill was just shy of $40: 3 stinky, rotten rolls, one dry, thin, disgusting piece of tuna sashimi, 2 misos, and a seaweed salad. The yellowtail had dark, hard pieces of fish & smelled super-bad fishy. It tasted like... Uhm.... I don't even know! Rotten bacon? And the spicy tuna also smelled rotten & tasted like barbecue sauce....? The sashimi was dried up & super tiny. Oh! And they give soy sauce packets! Wtf. This isn't cheap Chinese take out. I'm so confused by the whole experience. Not sure how sushi can be that horrible. Or where all of the artificial bacon/barbecue flavors came from. Good cover up for bad fish? Just go to Kabuki or Ahi Ten if you're in Canton. Or grab some sushi from Meijer deli.

Awesome local sushi place with super fresh food and great service. Had the miso soup, potstickers (gyoza), and crazy tuna roll. The soup was hot, and unlike some lazy Japanese restaurants were the seaweed is so big it wraps around the spoon when you try to eat it, all the ingredients were diced to an appropriate size and the flavor was great. The roll was a special and priced at $10.45, which was a good price for the size. The only complaint, if there has to be one, is that prices are not listed in the menu for the rolls. Odd.

Best sushi in the area for sure! I love the spicy salmon pizza roll. I don't think I've gotten a roll here that didn't taste good!

I came here for lunch..ordered sushi combo for $9.50 and was surprised how fresh and tasty the fish was! Their sushi rice is perfect, too. I particularly like their matcha Green tea that they offer on the house. The service was good, except I felt a bit rushed. (They weren't particularly busy either.) Anyhow, hope to return for another meal sometime soon!

This is my favorite sushi restaurant!! They have numerous kinds of sushi and some of the freshest ingredients I've ever had! Yes, this place can be on the pricey side, depending on what you get, but it is well worth it! The rule of thumb? You pay for quality not quantity. They also serve regular entrees as well. Truthfully, I've never really looked at them because whenever I'm digging sushi, I come here and the look at the sushi menu. Overall, this is my go to place now for sushi. The serving staff are always very nice and friendly and the green tea ice cream for dessert is awesome! YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!! As a side note though for giggles, I brought along one of my friends who happens to be Japanese. She made a funny point of saying that the staff there actually speaks Korean. HAHA! Well, regardless of what they speak, they still make great sushi (and my friend agreed). Anyway, if you have never tried O'Sushi, I do recommend this place, especially if you enjoy fresh sushi!! :)

Really disappointed in the sushi here....the rice on the rolls tasted like they've been sitting out for a while so it was getting hard, the seaweed that they rolled the rolls in was kinda hard as well. Ordered California rolls, spicy California rolls, shrimp tempura roll, tempura California roll....the spicy California was not spicy at all, barely no spicy sauce on top, the friend tempura California roll has a weird taste to the batter that they fried it in, and the shrimp tempura has roe in it and It didn't mention it on the menu and i dislike the taste and idea of eating roe. Not to mention, I ordered just sushi and there's no complimentary bowl of miso or salad given with the meal, but kabuki and ajiten do. Needless to say, it was mediocre and it's not somewhere that I would go back to.

I love O'Sushi! Reasonably priced, the sushi is good and always fresh, the house salad dressing is a little different than other sushi restaurants I've had(but still fantastic), and the miso is great. Even my significant other who hates sushi asks to go here for the Oyako don. It's a beautiful dish that is smokey, savory, and sweet. If you add a little soy sauce it really brings out all the elements. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone. We usually go on the week days and always get the same sweet waitress, but the entire staff is very friendly.

What the heck happened to this place? Maybe it's because they don't use the A-team chefs on Sundays. Maybe I managed to luck into bad days... but three times in a row? It's not that the fish was bad. It just wasn't as fresh and flavorful as I'd expect for the amount they charge. I don't mind paying a bit 'more' if the quality matches, and the high quality I've seen in the past just doesn't seem to be there anymore. The service is still nice and friendly. They keep your tea and water topped up, and the few non-sushi things I've had have been fine. But I was going for the fish. I kept going back hoping the last time was a fluke. Given how much I can spend on sashimi and nigiri, without even trying, it is 'three strikes, you're out.' Time to look for a new default sushi place.

Average at best! We tried crunchy, white tiger and michigan rolls, chicken udon noodles and shrimp tempura! Nothing was exceptional, infact i thought the michigan roll was bad. Food needs more flavor! For the shrimp tempura appetizer order, we ended up with 2 fried pieaces of shrimp with tons of fried veggies for $8. That's rediculous! Being newbies in canton, this will definitely NOT be our to go to sushi place!

I always have great services and good sushi....it can get a bit costly but this is our go-to sushi place in Canton!

This place is quite nice. A full menu of delicious sushi offerings and a bar selection to boot. The staff was friendly and super helpful. Give this place a try, but be ready to spend some money. Not at all cheap.

Awesome rolls, and the ratio of rice, fish, and sauces are perfect that i can taste each of the ingredients individually or together as a team. I recommend this place if you never tried 'Real Roll' before!

Sushi was not good. Rice is not soft at all.. Plus such a small plate for a really high price. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I too laughed about possible corned beef sushi rolls, or Irish Japanese fusion food?? But I was forced to eat my words - and a bunch of rolls! We have never been disappointed here..everything we have tried was great, service is always super friendly. Start with the fried gyoza (pork dumplings) they are the best I've ever had, the sauce is so good my son saves the extra for his sushi - this may be a cultural faux pas, like putting ketchup on steak, but who knows, the servers are too nice to comment! There are so many roll to choose from, we try to get at least one new variety each visit, I must have at least one with masago, I love those crunchy little guys! The Tiger Roll with the fried pork is a great option for someone who is squeamish about sushi, even for those of us raw fish lovers, this roll is fantastic. The Crunchy roll was fantastic as well - my son loves the Las Vegas roll, not my favorite, it is lacking some texture for me, but the flavors are nice. Spicy Tuna always a win here. In a surprise move hubby orders the spring rolls, said they were great, the sauce was more of a sweet chili instead of your standard plum, he loved it. He also raved that the green tea was the best he had ever had - and he orders it everywhere, so I believe him. All in all, you really can't go wrong here, it is a fantastic hidden gem in Canton.

The strip mall their located in is terribly ugly, and the inside floor is kinda cracked up and has some issues. But they are super friendly and attentive. The fish is always fresh! I usually get the Miso Soup, and Holiday, Canton, Spicy Cali, and Snow Cone rolls and I'm always impressed and filled up every time I order here!

Let me start off by saying... I love this place. The staff is always very friendly. This location is small and quaint. Service is quick and the food is good! I had a lunch meeting and chose O'sushi as the place to dine. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. No waiting to be waited on, the wait staff arrived at the table right away with menus and ready to take our drink order. The Box Special which is always the best deal to me. It's available at a reduced price until 2:30 pm daily. I order the Shimp Tempura Box Special which comes with a variety of items. I normally trade out the California Roll which normally accompany the special with the Fireball Roll which was ABSOLUTELY DELISH! Also included in my box special: Salad with Ginger Dressing, Fried Dumplings, Steamed Edamame, Tempura Vegetables (broccoli, pumpkin slice, red bell pepper, onion), and cut fresh fruit. DELISH... DELISH... DELISH! The only reason I only gave 4 Stars is due to ambience. This location has been here for as long as I can remember (over 10 yrs), and it's could use a bit of a facelift or a little update just to spruce up the place some. But other than that everything else is awesome! My lunch meeting guest enjoyed his box special as well. I definitely recommend O'sushi for those who like sushi, or someone who just wants to try sushi to see if they like it. Great place!

I am really surprised that we had such a yucky experience but others (even recently) seem to have a lovely time..... take this review for what it is worth. A couple of weeks ago, my hubby and I wanted to try out the Canton version of the Basement Burger Bar for their Thursday Burger Deal..... but it was over a 30 minute late and my tummy could not bear to stand another 30 minutes before being filled with wonderful food. My hubby- not being the biggest sushi lover- bucks up every now and again so that I can get my fill! I used to come to O Sushi a lot and really enjoyed it but this time was a little different. After looking at the menu, we opted to share one of the sushi platters for ($29.95) and I ordered a couple of yakitori for the hubby (I think they were $2 each and we got 2). The waitress came by and said "both soup and salads, right?" We just said "sure" assuming they came with the meal. The soup and salads were good. The yakitori was enjoyable (so said hubby) and the platter was decent. The cuts were rather small compared to other places in the area... but it was ok. The major disappointment came when we got the bill and were charged for the soups and salads... I guess it isn't a big deal but the bill came to $57 for a split meal, soups, salads (which based on the waitresses question we assumed came with), and two yakitori sticks (no beer or wine or pop or juice or tea for that matter). It just seemed silly expensive. Maybe it is shame on us for not knowing... but I think that the price was a little high for our liking and I doubt we will be back.

I wish I could give O'sushi 3.5, but alas, I cannot. O'sushi is in a very strange spot. Pulling into the rundown parking lot, it didn't even look open. But it was, and we were the only ones in there. I was worried that this was a bad sign, but luckily O'sushi convinced me otherwise. Several people came in for carryout orders so it's obviously more popular than the dine-in situation might indicate. We decided to go for some "crazier" Americanized rolls this time around. My husband's personal favorites were the White Tiger and the Hawaiian. The Hawaiian is topped with a mango sauce, which he was worried would be too sweet, but it was actually very mild and a perfect compliment to the light fish in the roll. I had two vegetarian rolls which were very satisfying (though I've never had a vegetarian roll which was mindblowing in comparison to fish, so take it with a grain of salt). My husband said the fish was not the best quality, so a star off for that. However, they did give us half a free roll which my husband totally loved! The atmosphere in here is kind of weird, which is the reason I was vacillating between three and four stars. This is NOT a fancy sushi place by any means - it's tiny and dark and they played the Wings game during dinner. If you're looking for an intimate place for a date, this is not it. It's hard not to feel self-conscious fitting a roll in your mouth when the chef is looking at you from five feet away! Still, it was a good enough taste of what O'sushi has to offer that I would go back, and hopefully bump it up to four stars next time.

Having eaten here over 15 times this use to be one of my favorite sushi places in the area. However, most of the staff that work here are rude and condescending. God forbid you come in after 9 pm (restaurant closes at 10) because multiple employees kept reminding us of the hours even before we took a seat. They literally handed us the menus and asked what we would like before we glanced at them. Different waiters would come up to us asking if we are ready and the whole experience was rushed and uncomfortable (The actual time it took us to order was less than 5 minutes). The way they treated us despite being regular customers put a damper on our meal. Don't advertise that you close at 10 but treat customers that walk in at 9 like they don't belong there. I guess they don't want the business because I will not be coming here anymore. You can get same quality sushi at better prices with staff that appreciates your business in other metro Detroit restaurants. Go elsewhere. Sidenote: Have had a separate previous negative experience with the manager/owner lady who runs the place. I took a seat and was actually yelled at for where I sat! Thought I should still give the place another try...silly me!

I was extremely disappointed with this sushi after reading these reviews. I would call this sushi anything but "fresh". The shrimp tempura was inedible. I could see the the shrimp had not been properly deveined. Gross. The California rolls were tiny and the rice tasted old. The gyoza was not my cup of tea either. I was really looking forward to trying this place after hearing such good things. Very disappointed.

We really like O'sushi - in fact, it's probably our favorite sushi in the Ann Arbor/Canton area. The staff are very friendly, and the fish seems fresh. It's the only perk to braving the gauntlet of Ikea down the street.

This place is absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I recently discovered it and we will definitely be going back. I would definitely recommend the devil sushi roll and the dragon roll. A little pricier but definitely worth it.

  • Emma C.

Not sure why I haven't written about this place sooner. The staff is very friendly, sushi is always good and they always seem busy. But the best surprise was noticing that they have Bi Bim Bap. We're very picky about how places make this dish (we only like 2 other places that make it) and fortunately O'Sushi makes it very good! This will be nice on Sundays when our favorite place is closed and we're too lazy to make this dish ourselves at home.

  • Darufznfya Y.

Very fresh and authentic sea food. Tempura was delightfully breaded with panko rather than thick batter. Wait staff was very friendly. I'm new to the area, but this place is my favorite so far.

  • Samantha L.

I really enjoy OSushi! They have many different sushi rolls to choose from (as well as other dishes) and are very very tasty!! My husband and I have been here several times and are never disappointed. Somehow though we always spend around $40. Sushi can get pricey when you want to try different things! PROS: Very good sushi! Fast and freindly service! Their menu has a description of what is in each roll as well as pictures of most of the sushi rolls which I found very helpful :) CONS: Restaurant is very very small! And the specialty rolls are a little bit on the pricey side. Your bill can add up quickly!! TIPS: My favorite roll is the Las Vegas roll! It is a deep fried roll of deliciousness!! I recommend it!

This place gets three stars for the gyoza ALONE. If I am rating the sushi, this place would probably get one star from me. We went in last Sunday because it was my and my boyfriend's anniversary and we met at Noble so we always have sushi on our anniversary. The place is a little dark and dingy but I wasn't turned off in the least. I've eaten great food in worse places (see Noble). The waiter was super friendly and attentive because we were the only ones in there. It was Sunday afternoon though, so I wasn't surprised or scared off by that. We always start with gyoza because the boy loves it. And this gyoza was very good. Moist, meaty and flavorful interior and a crispy exterior. We were officially excited about the rest of the meal. This place offers a TON of rolls. I was actually a little overwhelmed. We ended up getting the eel tempura, the yellowtail scallion, the one with tempura calamari in it, and the spicy tuna avocado. Yes, not the most "authentic" choices but I'm a sucker for anything fried. Amurrrica. The yellowtail was fine, as was the eel tempura. I've had better rolls elsewhere but there weren't any glaring problems. The other two rolls, however, were GROSS. The spicy tuna was mealy. The calamari was WAY overcooked and was like chewing through cartilage. It was probably the worst sushi experience I've had thus far. Needless to say, I won't be going back. Or if I ever found myself here again, maybe I'd just get the gyoza or something deep fried and hard to mess up.

  • Il Taek K.

Overall, looks fine. Ramen was good. Nigiri Sushi was somewhat overpriced, I think. It seems not fresh. Service was good, waitress keeping asking if there is anything I need. Based on other opinions of Yelp, the strength is Roll.

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile as my wife and I frequent this place. O'Sushi is a perfect example where quantity meets quality. With that being said I think their prices are appropriate for what they provide. We've eaten here 30+ times and every time has been great. Their fish is always tasty and their staff is always friendly. If your looking for something really tasty, try the Gyoza (Pork Filled Dumplings)! If you're looking for a solid place to eat sushi without breaking your wallet, eat here. They serve the same quality of fish that an upscale sushi place would serve. To the people that stated they were turned away before 10 PM. We've arrived after 9 PM and had the same friendly staff as always.

Great, fresh-tasting, consistent strip-mall sushi. The sushi and regular menus are both pretty big and offer a good amount of variety (vegetarians will not feel left out here). They have a nice assortment of Japanese beers as well. The staff are very pleasant and friendly and service is quick. The prices are average, but Monday night is 20% off night! My favorite part: the spicy tuna and salmon rolls aren't bulked up with globs of mayonnaise like everywhere else! It's just tasty fish with lots of Sriracha and avocado. Yum.

O' Holy O' Sushi! This place was a staple for my sushi addiction when I needed a good pick'me up. Their selection of sushi rolls are very plentiful, and their selection always changes when you keep an eye on the chalkboard of special announcements behind the bar. The one funny thing that I experienced one time at O' Sushi, they sat me towards the back of the restaurant, where it was a completely different setting. Old wooden table, with Japanese posters / writing all around. I believe there is a separate section for those of that group. Pretty fun all the way around though. Oh, and when you get their hand rolls... make sure to open wide... because sometimes their hand rolls are a much larger for the common sized mouth. I'm sure I could have worded that better.. lol.

This place is an absolute gem. Tucked in a strip mall, it's our normal Monday night spot. 20% off on Mondays too! Dine-in only. The fish is so fresh and very tasty. We usually have the Mad Tuna Roll, Edamame, Devil Roll, Spicy Scallop Roll, Kiss of Fire, and Michigan Roll. All to die for. Just last night we had the spicy scallop Hand Roll. Loved the spiciness, and the texture of the scallops was just right. They have a great selection of Japanese beers. Hitachino Nest would be my recommendation. Sapporo is always great too. The staff has always been very friendly & helpful Try it, you really can't go wrong!!

Love this place ! Get great service everytime . I'm not a big sushi eater but when I do get sushi I come here ! It's very tasty and fresh . You can watch the sushi Chefs which is fun . 20% off of sushi dinner on Monday nights !

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I do not claim to be a connoisseur of Sushi. With that said - this is a great place and I would encourage you to give it a try. I had someone I knew who claimed they knew bad Sushi from good and they did not complain when I took them here. When I lived in Canton I used to frequent this place routinely. I lived really close buy. I have had many assortments of rolls which all have been great. I have tried some of the standard Cali style, to bamboo / rice mat, you name it. I think what is re-assuring is you watch them make it fresh to order and that is always a good sign. I have also had the Tempura which is very good and traditional to what I (at least) have always know. The Miso soup is very good. I can go on. It doesn't look like much from the outside - but it is very pleasant and up to date on the inside. I took many a date here and it was a nice relaxing atmosphere for that type of event. Take out was another mainstay and the food was always make to order and great. Many thumbs up.

  • Michael S.

Had a pleasant enjoyable meal the other day. A wide variety of sushi choices to select from, 20% off on sushi monday is the way too go. I also ordered hot stone bowl bibimbap, the combination of ingredients was really good. I would recomend this dish as a change from your standard chinese food. The place is small and the service was very warm and friendly. However, they tend to be a pricey with entree dishes hovering around the $20 dollar mark. Dinner for 2 will run you about $50 The food is not that good that it comands the high price point. That takes the fun out of it and why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

  • Vince S.

Excellent food and friendly staff. I have my favorite dish, Nabeyaki Udon, but I've tried many items here all being good and fresh. Don't be afraid to ask for food items you like but don't see on the menu. If you like a refreshing drink they have a good beer/wine selection too.

  • Andie F.

Completely addicted! Great friendly staff, great location, great service. I'm there at least once a week for lunch and sometimes again for dinner. I've only ever eaten the sushi here. White tiger is a favorite, as well as the spicy crab crunch special and the Mr. Nice Guy roll (if you like things with a little kick). ***Be sure to check the board by the sushi bar for specials and new rolls!

I'm very happy with this place. After going a few times now, the food is consistently tasty and the staff are thoroughly friendly. The potstickers and varieties of sushi that I have tried have all been delicious.

This is my go to place for sushi in the Canton area. It looks like a dive bar in a short strip of stores. Inside, it's a bar and a handful of tables and chairs. The sushi menu has the standard set and then it has some 'house' rolls for lack of better term that perhaps they created for their bar. The price is fair and the service is friendly. The place is clean. The rolls are plated well and 99% of the time have a strong tight roll. Solid and safe bet for a nice sushi platter or two or three.

  • Abigail C.

I love this place. Yes, the sushi is fabulous, but the staff is even better. My boyfriend and I have quickly become regulars and love talking with the sweet staff. Who wants more than funny, intelligent and good service? The service combined with the food just makes this place heaven sent. The miso soup I swear gets better every time I have it. The rolls are fair priced and HUGE. Some are even seemingly odd combinations, but surprisingly yummy. Our Favorite Rolls: White Dragon ($12.50?): spicy mayo and mango sauce make for a delightful just perfect mix of hot and sweet Cobra Roll ($12.50?): Tempura roll with spicy mayo and eel sauce that hits just the right spot Devil Roll Sunday Morning Roll White Tiger And honestly, there isn't a roll there that we've tried that we didn't like. Want something a little different than normal? Then try: Chicken Teriyaki roll Beef Teriyaki Roll Waui Maui Roll(sp): This neat roll has strawberries and mangos! Definitely worth a try!

Sushi tastes amazing!! I was totally prepared to give the place 5 stars...I went in, placed a carry out...they brought me water while I waited and the sushi chef gave me a small free cucumber salad to snack on which was delic! I received my carryout pretty quick...got home...and realized they didn't give me my shrimp tempura or tuna roll...instead I receive 2 spicy tuna rolls I didn't order...the rest of my order was correct but I was bummed ...first time I've experienced an issue with a wrong order here tho out of many visits....so double check if you get a carryout! :)

We really liked this place on our first visit. Great sushi, excellent service. I have been driving past this place for years not taking it seriously because of its name, but last week I just happened to notice the wonderful Yelp reviews and decided to try it. Okay, kind of embarrassing that I misjudged this book by the cover, but so happy we finally found it and so grateful to all of the Yelpers who helped show me the way.

Went to O'Sushi memorial day because I was out shoppping at Ikea and it was 20% off. The miso soup was just ok and could have easily been skipped. The house salad was much bigger than I have had at other sushi restaurants. The rolls were great quality but the sushi was still expensive for this reason I wish I could give this a 3/12 stars. Pros: Quality sushi. Lots of parking. Nice dinning/ sushi bar atmosphere. Cons: Locale looks a little shady, prices is a little expensive.

Put me with the crowd that joked about this place for years. Irish sushi? WTF? Huh? I really love this place and I am so glad that Liz R. introduced me to it! The sushi is so delicious and fresh and the people here are great. I am fond of Irene now in particular, who is a charming and attentive waitress with fabulous suggestions. My fave roll of our visit was the Fire Ball roll. Perfect shrimp tempura, tuna, eel and avocado inside, with shredded crab stick and julienned cucumber on top, smothered in eel, spicy and red chili sauce. Liz is not kidding when she describes them as jaw-unhinging pieces, go with a non judgemental friend or be prepared to suffer some embarrassment at some point when you fail to stuff the ginormousness into your mouth in one big bite. Any mistakes in your gobbling technique are well worth the deliciousness! The snow corn roll was 4 pieces and was soft with a crispy outside. It has a creamy texture that I really enjoyed. Liz claimed it was missing a sauce but honestly I loved every bite at any rate. Do I know what all was in it? Heck no. Do I care? Not a bit. The scallop roll was a green onion studded delight. The scallop itself was tender and sweet, just amazement. I do not know why I have not delved into the world of hotategai before. I am a convert. Our last roll was the Beverly Hills Roll I think, the electric lemonade I was swigging made me confused I must confess. It had great fish on it, especially the perfectly fileted eel. I was impressed by the uber freshness but the sauces were a bit blah-ish for us. With a bit of zip I would have been all over it. It was still very good indeed but it was not wow. Our freebie roll was a similar mystery. Again, not too worried. It was tasty and hello, free. It was eaten as gleefully as the rest. The drinks were strong and happy, the sushi was 20% off, we got a freebie roll and nice cantaloupe and they cheerfully kept us in hot green tea for hours as we gabbed. Everything was awesome and I can't wait to come back.

You know when in "the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," Lucy goes through this tiny wardrobe for the first time, enters into a magical, mystical world? This isn't like that. It's a small, simple space with a sushi bar and football on the tv screen. But don't be deterred by the plain exterior and simple interior - they make some darn good rolls. The volcano rolls alone would have me going back, and the sashimi sampler is fresh and just large enough to satisfy my fix. And you have the Korean option - their bibimbop is pretty solid, and you can request kimchi (always a critical factor for me).

It's a pretty small venue and not the best for big parties. The food was decent, I have had better sushi but this is probably one of the best sushi places in Canton. The service here is actually quite adorable - one of the servers taught us how to use chopsticks and was overall very friendly and sociable. Overall a very pleasant experience!

Came here for lunch yesterday. First time here and it was not bad. One thing I realized when go around Japanese restaurant around Michigan area is that lot of places precut their fish into pieces. Probably they do that in order to serve their food quicker but as quality wise it will drop down. This place is pretty small and idk how many years has been this place opened but it seems pretty old maybe cause of their inner decor they have it here makes it little antique. Too small for large group of people to come in. Individual person to come and eat or small group like 2-4 for normal lunch or dinner to eat will be alright. Kitchen can be seen widely from sushi bar and looks little uncleaned feeling once you see it. First when i saw their fish has been precut beside Octopus and Yellowtail i was expecting this restaurant's food will taste really low just like two other places that i've went to one on Trenton Mi and one in Ann arbor but surprisingly it wasn't that bad at all. I mean you can tell the difference when you taste tuna they serve compare to place where they don't precut and using fresh ones in their place. But among places where precut their fish into nigiri portions, this place is pretty good for that circumstance. Price is low for lunch combination on sushi or sashimi but little expensive for a la carte which is individual pieces of nigiri for that quality. If you wanna taste variety of their fish without any other ingredient then order like combo for sushi or sashimi and extra order other fish that is not included to their combination. California R you get on combo sushi, they put half portion of crab meat. Their miso is average. Waitress is little bit pushy on customer to make an order. I understand for places where they have no lunch break so they have to eat lunch in middle of working hours but first thing you should consider is customer. Some customers are in a hurry but others likes to take their time on things so they won't feel they are being forced for things. I'm just saying this cause some customers will feel little bit unhappy about being pushed. Chef is not talkative. Like i talked before from previous review on other Japanese restaurant, not like other type of restaurant sushi bar has little unique on chefs can communicate with customers more freely than other places. Of course first thing that should be considered is on taste and quality on food but next thing that has to be worked on is to communicate with customers. Lot of customers seats at sushi bar to see how chefs makes food and also to communicate with them. It could have been more plus if the chef was talkative and plus i think he is the owner of this place. Oh and i forgot to mention about the roll I ordered i can't remember the name of it but it had spicy crab meat on top and it was fried rice roll (not batter) on the bottom. Problem with this roll was it taste completely separated i mean it won't match to each other. Especially rice was not fried well enough. Also spicy crab meat was not tasting good.

This is our favorite sushi place, bar none. We'll cheat on them occasionally, but we always return. We've gone often enough, and tipped well enough, that we're recognized by the waitstaff and most of the sushi chefs. We're still tickled whenever the sushi chef sends a little something special to our table (and we hope we don't ever get so jaded that we expect it). We go for the sushi, but we've tried the Shrimp and/or Veggie Tempura - light batter, not greasy, good portion - and I crave the Tempura Soba soup (with tempura on the side to keep it crispy), even in hot weather. OK, now for the main event. The sushi. One of our favorite waitresses, Irene, recommended the Fire Ball roll waaaayy back during one of our first visits, and we are hooked. It has shrimp tempura, tuna, eel and avocado inside (heck, there might be other things in there too, delicious things), with shredded crab stick and julienned cucumber on top, smothered in eel, spicy and red chili sauce. This is the best roll I have ever had. Eight huge, jaw-unhingeing pieces for about $13. It is a beast. More recently we've discovered the Salmon Pizza, which is pretty much a California Roll (oh the horror) covered in spicy-sauce coated salmon, broiled in the little toaster oven behind the sushi counter then sprinkled with multi-colored fish roe and green onions. Also around $13. So we usually chose one or the other. And fill in with a couple of the following: Mad Tuna roll (half spicy tuna/half krab salad, sprinkled with eel sauce and crunchy bits), Snow Corn roll (not sure what's in this one, but it has a sweet sauce over it to counteract all our usual heat), Spicy Tuna Avocado roll, Spicy Scallop roll. Another fun option is the New O'Sushi roll, which is wrapped in cucumber instead of rice - recommended for something deliciously different. This is the first sushi place I've been to that has a color picture book of their rolls - I'm a visual person, so this makes it a lot easier to choose. I don't know how we found the place - previous reviewers are correct, the outside is scary - but I highly recommend it!

Dear O'Sushi.... I loved you, and the last few times my tuna avocado rolls have not tasted great, and had fatty tuna on them, making them a little stringy and not great. I've taken you off my speed dial, knowing there are others nearby that may turn my head. I'm going to check them out.

We had a nice dinner with friends last night. Service was quick and friendly, just right for a relaxing evening. Our after-morning evaluation is that the specialty rolls are much better tasting than the regular rolls. I can't quite recall the names of the rolls we ordered but I can remember one was Queen something and the Love Love roll. I suggest sticking with the specialty rolls. Like another reviewer, we loved the Miso soup. It was great. Full bar and Japanese beers were available.

I'm not sure why this place has such good reviews, I don't think they had a good selection of special rolls I only found 2 I even wanted to eat and didn't like either. And they charge extra for low sodium soy sauce to go! Kabuki in canton is much better.

My friend at work wanted to go get some sushi and I wasn't really up for it... he then said, we need to go to a new place so you can write about it on yelp.... so some how, we ended up here. Its in a small strip mall and from outside, one would think twice about stopping by to eat... but I have to tell you, once you bypass the building, inside the restaurant, its nice. We were greeted by the two sushi chefs and the host/wait staff. They brought our drinks and we reviewed the menu for about five minutes. I wasn't sure what I wanted, their special sounded good, but being that it was my first time, I played it safe. I ordered Tempura Udon, Salad and Miso soup. The Miso soup was little weak compared to other places I've been too. It seems they use very light brown miso, whereas other places will use dark/light mixed. The miso taste on the soup needed some work. The salad was okay... I was not a fan of the dressing they used. It was more of an Italian dressing then Japanese dressing. Now, I'll tell you up front, I'm Ajishin Udon fan, so I have high expectation when it comes to Udon from anywhere (outside of Japan). I had some doubts about the soup base for the udon, but that doubt went away after I tried it. The soup base (which is very important) was very delightful and good. I would order Tempura Udon any day. My friend ordered some rolls - spicy tuna and the other was their special, which had crab meat, shrimp tempura, etc. I liked their special roll, it was really good. Service was also good... the two ladies took care of us very well, even as more customers started to show up. Next time I go, I'll try some of their rolls. Check out O'Sushi and give it a try!

My fiance and I frequent this sushi place for takeout. We have never dined in so I cannot speak about the service. However, the place did look a little small, but don't let that fool you. The food is always good. We are never disappointed. They have the basic rolls (Salmon, Tuna, Scallop, Philly), but they also have a large selection of specialty rolls. Every roll that we ordered from here were fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place to get some good fresh sushi.

I am really struggling to understand how O'Sushi has a four star rating on Yelp. I initially swore I would not ever eat at this restaurant (on account of the cheesy ass name), but after seeing it had four stars, I was forced to go back on my word. I regret going back on my word. My SO and I ordered take-out. Putting aside the fact that they forgot my salad, the sushi was barely edible. I had Spicy California and the Fire Ball roll, both of which involve avocado. Normally, I love avocado but this avocado was over-ripe, mushy, flavorless and not a pleasant texture for sushi. The Fire Ball roll had a seafood salad on top that did not taste or smell fresh. I also had a piece of tamago nigiri and the texture of the tamago seemed off. My SO ordered several pieces of nigiri as he usually does, and he did not eat it as it "didn't seem right." About one third of our order went in the trash. Next time I want sushi, I will go to Izakaya Sanpei, which has yet to disappoint. I won't be going back to O'Sushi.

The service here is great. I was greeted upon arrival by the chef and the hostess and was asked to have a seat while I ordered my take out and were very helpful when I asked questions about the menu. The Michigan roll was great, a must try as well as the fireball roll if you like spice.

Great sushi, friendly staff. Recently reorganized. I say reorganized rather than remodeled because they didn't really change much except the arrangement of the tables. It's a very small, cramped dine-in experience. I wish they'd buy up the vacant space next to them and expand.

Like many others who have reviewed this restaurant my decision to try it was one of cautious spontaneity. This is my first experience with O' Sushi. Rushing to grab food before work, I pulled into the parking lot at the corner of Ford Rd & Lilley Rd. I looked at O' Sushi restaurant, then looked at Little Caesars. Conscious of the time I thought, 'I'll just get some hot wings and crazy bread from Little Caesars'. I walk into Little Caesars and try to order the wings, but they said it would be a 10 minutes wait. I said never-mind and decided to I'd take the opportunity to try O' Sushi. I hurried next door to O' Sushi and was greeted by a young Japanese girl. She immediately asked how many in my party and I replied that I only wanted a carry-out. I asked how long it would be...she replied, but I didn't quiet hear what she said. She then passed me a menu while pointing out that pictures were included to make my choice easier. I quickly looked over the menu and chose the item that I imagined to be the most palatable, The Saturday Night Rolls. I can't tell you exactly what was included, but there was yellow-tail, crab, salmon, celery in the roll. I then paid for the meal. I waited patiently as the chef came from the back and began preparing my order. I am fairly new to Japanese food, but this experience was strange and reminiscent of a Subway restaurant as I saw the chef prepare the entire dish from scratch. Rolling out the seaweed spreading the rice and placing all ingredients inside before rolling them together and slicing it into 6 even smaller rolls. He then added the ginger slices, a wasabi ball and garnish. It only took about 5 minutes before my meal was ready. I was impressed. The chef passed the order to the hostess, who them bagged the order added chopsticks, soy sauce and napkins in the bag and passed it to me. I thanked her and she politely smiled and wished me a good day. I got to work shortly afterward. Opened my bag and ate the Saturday Night Rolls. They were delicious!!! Sushi is expensive, but it was a wonderful mix of flavors and tasted fresh. O' Sushi is definitely recommended. I'm sure I'll go back. Updates to come soon.

The sushi here is consistently fresh and delicious. The miso soup is really good,as well as the salad (simple greens but the ginger-garlic dressing is wonderful). I order the Rainbow roll and the 007 roll every time and they always turn out superb. The Michigan and spicy tuna rolls are quite good too. My 5-year-old likes the breaded chicken appetizer with rice...so now we can come more often! The staff is consistently friendly and helpful.

O sushi has been my go to sushi, I am in Livonia. I love the White Tiger roll and Crunchy roll. The sushi is Great. The service is TERRIBLE. the whole reason I am writing this add. I have NEVER had a positive experience with the workers here. I have been a server for many many years, and it really pisses me off to get treated so poorly. I came in at 945, they closed at 10 on a FRIDAY NIGHT and was told can order carry out. So we had a beer at the bar and the carry out girl asked my date and I for our ids and after I had to dig thru my purse and we pulled them out (we are in our mid 30s) btw, she says oh I don't need to see them just legal reasons. WTH, thanks for making us pull them out and not even look at them. SO DISRESPECTFUL. SO we sit at the bar and she brings us two warm glasses with our beers. THANKS. Then in about 3 minutes our sushi is ready and she says oh you can finish your beers don't worry. REALLY? CAN WE drink the 10 dollar beers we just bought? SO RUDE. EVERY TIME I have come they have been terrible servers.

Here is why O'Sushi won't disappoint--the servers have always been very friendly and the sushi remains at a constant B+, regardless of who is making it. We frequent this place about 1x month and have yet to walk away wishing we had gone someplace else.

During a trip to Ikea and planning on eating in their cafeteria, we had passed by this strip mall and thought..sushi! We turned around and came here instead. I was a bit leary, it's in a little plaza and it has an Irish name, but what the heck. The place is tiny, but cute, and really clean and simple inside. Our waitress was really friendly and the rolls, OMG were delish. I got my usual Spicy Tuna and the Crunchy Roll, and the hubby got the Rainbow and California Roll. They were all excellent. I was invigorated for my shopping extravaganza at Ikea. The only downer was the price. For 4 rolls it came to $31.00...a bit pricey, but it made for a great Sunday.

Location: located in the corner of a very non-descript strip mall, it's not much to look at outside. As others have mentioned, you might be tempted to conclude it's a hybrid Irish-Japanese restaurant, but once you realize that this place is owned by Koreans, the curious choice of name makes more sense (though not complete sense). Decor: Once inside though, the place is more spacious than it appears from the outside. It looks pretty standard for a Japanese restaurant. Service: Very haphazard and not very detail oriented. We practically had our menus thrown to us. We were then asked about two minutes later if we were ready to order. We asked for more time, which seemed to confuse the waitress, who then asked us if we wanted to have appetizers like soup or salad. Since we hadn't had time to really look at the menu, which is surprisingly long and varied, we again had to say no. The service definitely could have been better. For instance, if the waitress had asked us at least once if there was anything else we wanted/needed after the food had arrived or had even asked us if we wanted anything else before handing us our check, I would have been a happier gal. Maybe that was her polite way of shuttling us out before closing since we did arrive 45 min before closing. Food: The sushi wasn't bad -- some pretty creative rolls and nice variety in the menu, including several Korean offerings. I don't know why the sushi doesn't come with salad and miso soup, which, in my experience, is a given at Japanese restaurants. I had the tempura udon, which was good -- certainly not the worst I've had but definitely not the best. Broth was somewhat tasty and it arrived with 2 shrimp tempura and one giant slice of carrot or sweet potato. Not the most impressive tempura udon though. Overall, this place was pretty OK but the service was a bit abysmal. All in all, I wouldn't dislike coming back here, but I would rather try someplace new since Canton is a bit of a trek and Japanese restaurants seem to be a dime a dozen in the area.

I am very happy with O'Sushi. Service: We had two ladies waiting on us, both of them really sweet. My cup of tea was re-filled the minute it got empty. The service was good 'til the end. Food: We had Agedashi Tofu and Miso Soup for starters. The tofu was a little different than I'm used to, not in a bad way... just different. It had fresh shiitake mushroom, green onions, and dried seaweed on top. This time we had four specialty rolls and two classic ones (Philadelphia and vegetables); the specialty rolls are huuuuge and very well made. We're both (me and hubby) pretty big sushi fans and we've visited this place quite a few times before, the quality of fish is pretty consistent: always fresh. Bottom line: give it a shot and I hope you'll be as happy as we (always) are with this place. ;)

I agree with the other reviews...it really doesn't look like much on the outside. However, with the other positive reviews, we thought it was worth the try. We went there for the first time today. The service was pretty good and sushi chefs were friendly too. We got the beef don and the sushi special which consisted of 2 rolls and one udon noodle soup. The food was pretty good. The beef don wasn't very authentic but it tasted good nonetheless. Worth a try if you happen to be in the area.

The bf was jonesin' for sushi the other day so I squished my brain trying to think of a nearby sushi joint and ended up with O'Sushi. I grew up in this area, and honestly haven't stopped in that janky looking strip mall since Johnson's Restaurant went poof. I knew O'Sushi was there, but had never before thought to attempt a dining experience. The best thing about this place is definitely its raison d'être: the sushi. We went with 5 rolls: avocado, spicy tuna, philly, scallop, and a crunchy cali. Our favorite was the scallop... it had a fresh clean ocean flavor with just the right amount of scallion. The philly was delicious as well, and the other three were serviceable but nothing special. I've seen better prices for a similar quality of sushi, and we missed the complementary miso soup and salad that a couple of our favorite sushi joints offer. The staff was friendly, if a little neglectful (the beverage refill had to be requested, and then arrived only after the meal). Sushi: good Prices: okay Service: meh

This sushi was terrible.. They didn't even have any fatty tuna. The first warning sign should have been a ridiculous name like o'sushi. I dont even think they were japanese, i believe they are chinese.

I had the veggie rolls and the pickled roll as well as the Miso soup. I'm not a big fan of seaweed, but the miso soup is delicious as was the sushi. My ONLY complaint is that they serve it on a wooden plate. It's so hard to clean wood - I kept thinking of all the raw fish germs that could be on it. The staff is friendly. The place is a bit small, but comfortable. Their menu is great for first time sushi eaters.

So, this place is in a strip mall. I was really on the fence about going but I was craving sushi and it was there. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and the quality. I wasn't going to risk being too adventurous in a new place without a regular so I only ordered a spicy tuna roll. The service was thorough and quick and the tuna was fresh. I really couldn't ask for more from this. Maybe if I make it to Michigan again, I'll go deep into the menu and try something with more flare.

This place does do its sushi right. But does not excel at it. It does have many special recipes of its own; now THOSE recipes are the good ones to order. To build a relative, I find Noble Fish in clawson as the almighty sushi joint of Michigan. Place has a really nice setting for style. All plates are done well and good as Ajiten. But menu is small, so I find myself going to Ajiten when not in a sushi mood.

Hmmmmmm... Ok, here's the rub. i really enjoy the Dearborn Location... Canton, not so much. The Food in Canton seems to be 30-40% more expensive, and somewhat lower in quality of execution. I'm not entirely sure why this is, but i'm always satisfied in Dearborn, always disappointed in Canton...

I moved to Plymouth from Boston, which has tons of really good sushi restaurants and is where I fell in love with sushi. So I was pretty skeptical of this place, in name an in their appearance from the outside. On the inside however it is a charming little sushi bar and the staff is quite friendly. Their sushi always tastes very fresh, and they have or will make just about every roll you could imagine. I've only ordered gyoza, sushi and maki rolls, so I can't really speak for their salads, noodles or soups. But I love their sushi. And I love that they get a ton of business, which usually means that their inventory is kept fresh.

From its cheesy name and somewhat scary-looking exterior, one can never imagine how good their food can be. My colleagues and I frequent this restaurant for lunch. Our absolute favorite is a Friday lunch special called Chirashi-don (or sometimes referred to as Tekka-don). It is an assortment of raw fish over a sushi rice bowl, along with amazing udon noodles. The taste is consistently good, and the Korean staff greet us like a V.I.P. (no wonder we come back there almost every week).

I've driven past this place a few times and have always meant to try it out. I'm glad today was that fateful night. It kinda looks like a bar from the outside and they do have booze, but when you enter your greeted by...well, anyone who has seen you walk through the door. I sat at the sushi bar and I was quickly asked what I'd like to drink. (They have Pepsi :-( ) A quick look around you could tell they had a steady business and they even knew more then a few of the patrons so they have lots of repeat customers. A good sign in my opinion. I ordered an Spicy Tuna Avocado roll, their signature Crunchy Roll and a special Baked Roll called Dynamite, which you can get either spicy of sweet. I got spicy cuz that's how I roll (high-brow pun intended). The sushi chefs were pretty young and had the speed to prove it. I watched as he put the Crunchy roll together and wondered when he was going to stop putting stuff on it. The main feature of this roll are the 2 massive deep fried shrimp that make up 50% of the center of the roll. The top is covered with panko and drizzled with what I do believe was eel sauce. I don't like taking bites of roll segments so I forced each piece into my mouth. I'm sure I looked stupid, but I was rewarded for my outward gluttony, you could taste everything in the roll and the sweet taste of the eel sauce gave the roll a lot of character. I received the Spicy tuna avocado and Dynamite on the same plate. I started on the Dynamite and I've never had anything like this before. I think its spicy sauce mixed with a pretty mellow tasting fish and some imitation crab spread on top of a bed of rice and then sauteed on a flat-top. It was very filling. However, I don't think I'd get it again. It was spicy but I found that it lacked flavor. I could have thrown some soy sauce on it but I don't like soy sauce hot. The Spicy Tuna Avocado roll comes in 6 rather large pieces. The avocado cools off the taste of the spicy sauce a little too fast for me. But I'd say this is more my problem because I really like spicy food. I can see other people really liking these rolls. The presentation was superior, everything looked great. If there are any down-sides to this place is that I would probably never drink here. The beer prices are way too high for stuff I can find at the grocery store with domestic prices. (Mostly because Molson and Budweiser brew a lot Japanese beers in Canada and California under license.) They did have a few brews that I would be willing to try including a "Red Rice" beer. But I was on my way back to the office and beer on the breath is not a very good impression on the bosses. The stuff was very friendly and attentive. I was very glad that I tried this place out, I'll be coming back again for sure.

This place looks like somewhere that you would never want to eat at from the outside; it's in a run down strip mall and it's title is not promising. But, I beg you, come inside. You'll find a very modern Asian interior, awesome food and extremely friendly employees all at a reasonable price. We like the spicy tuna roll sushi, the stone bowl pork entree, and the vegetable and chicken tempura. This is a find!!
