Kabuki Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I've always enjoyed everything I've ever ordered here. The salmon teriyaki dinner is awesome. The sushi is excellent. Always fresh and nicely prepared. I've made big carryout orders from them on several occasions and they work hard to get things prepared on time and have never made a mistake. They really take care in what they do at Kabuki. Highly recommended.

After moving to Chicago 6 years ago and returning periodically to Canton to visit family, I'm impressed by the proliferation of ethnic restaurants here, and one of the more recent additions is Kabuki. I love the dual offerings of Japanese and Korean because they're my favorite and it's rare that I can get a sushi roll AND soon dubu chigae at the SAME TIME. This is very critical as Japanese food can never satisfy the spicy sweaty-faced cravings of the Korean palette. Kabuki has a limited Korean menu with some great deals - a kalbi, bulgoki or chicken teriyaki and soon dubu (spicy tofu stew) combo for about $13, and an extensive Japanese menu with a long list of sushi rolls. The Caterpillar Roll off the special rolls menu was good, and they have Kirin beer, the best compliment for rolls. If they added jajang myun and champong to the menu, we would never frequent another Asian restaurant in the Canton area. Don't be deterred by its strip-mall placement, the inside is quaint and the food is tasty and reasonably priced.

My favorite new place. Prices are reasonable, service was attentive and even my teenager liked the food. I do wish the lunch specials were available for dinner or at least something comparable. I really like the bento boxes and there isn't that much variety for dinner.

The servers are so nice here, and I love every single roll they make. This is one of my favorite sushi places to eat. The best rolls are double climax roll, super energy roll, crunch dragon roll, and if you like a little spice, the ninja roll is amazing!

My boyfriend and I ate here once and we liked it very much. There were alot of choices for us to choose from that we could agree on to share. I decided to try osushi right down the road since it had higher stars on here and was very disappointed! I definitely recommend this place over osushi!

Have never been disappointed. We have tried a variety of their dishes and special rolls since my first review and still impressed by the freshness, and the friendly staff.

The customer service is about as warm as the salmon on the sashimi. I have enjoyed the food much but even upon getting take out the vibe of the staff is very unwelcoming. If you are in canton and looking for good sushi and good service I highly recommend izakia sanpei

Never been so impressed with sushi until Kabuki canton!! Very fast service, prices are cheap, and sushi is VERY fresh!!!

Found Kabuki by accident while looking for a different place. Was pleasantly surprised as I walked in the door with great greetings and terrific smells. For starts soup was typical and nothing special, enjoyed some saki which was decent but when my sashimi sushi combo came WOW. Lots of great food and prepared and presented very well. A few pieces were not on my favorite list but all tasted extremely good and I will be back again.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Fresh. Delicious. Great and friendly service. That is all. We are fans forever.

Sushi rice was not seasoned properly. O'Sushi has a lot better quality food, but it is more expensive. I don't like iceberg lettuce, nor the "thousand island" type dressing on the salad...

I usually stop by during off lunch hours when they aren't that busy and everything runs smoothly and the food is delicious. I would have given them 5 stars, but we went for dinner on a Saturday night and the service was pretty slow. We ordered a few sushi rolls and an entree. They brought my husband his entree a good 25 mins before they ever brought our rolls. Being foodless, I ate some of his entree while we waited and waited and waited; no one came by to apologize for the wait -- I also saw the exact same situation at a nearby table. When our rolls finally did show up, the waitress then apologized for the wait. The rolls were delicious, so we will be back, but we'll stick to the off hours for better service.

I've been to many sushi restaraunts in Canton but kabuki is definitely the best. Their food is great the prices are great and they have a liquor license. Great place to bring a small group to enjoy a family style meal. I eat here at least once a week.

Had a wonderful lunch here today. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. The spicy tuna crunch roll was outstanding. One of the best I've had. We will definitely be back.

Kabuki has the best kalbi & soonduboo combo and is only about $12.00. You can taste the grill flavor in the kabli and tastes authentic. I have yet to try a place in Michigan that compares and I have been to most of the places here. You can also get a full plate of kalbi for $13.00. This place is definitely a "Must Try."

Best sushi in canton! I've been there twice now and have never had anything bad. We tried the 696 roll, oh happy day roll, double climax, crunch roll and the teriyaki salmon roll. They were all great, the crunch roll and double climax were my favorite but I would order all of them over again. I wasn't originally big on the cream cheese in sushi because it just seemed so unnecessary but it really complimented the fish well. It's a little expensive, was about $60 for two people but it was worth it.

Korean and Japanese food that really hits the spot! The menu's selection is very complete for both Japanese and Korean items. The seafood is quite fresh, and the entrees are very consistent. I really like the combo options (I usually get the kalbi and soon tubu combo), as the portions are big and I get more variety. My one complaint is that the banchan (side dishes) are not good. I rarely meet a kimchi I don't care for, but here it is... The service is friendly and efficient. I have and will continue to come here quite regularly.

  • Christine K.

I love the portions here. I have always left feeling full and satisfied. Though Kabuki is known to be a japanese restaurant, they had a lot of korean entrees as well. For example, they had bento boxes with bulgogi which is the first I've seen. They also have the best dolsot bibimbab that i've ever tasted. Unlike other korean places, the temperature was hot enough to scorch the rice on the bottom just how I like it. It even came out with a wood covering to ensure it's hot temperature. Staff here is also friendly. I am definitely coming back.

i had lunch here today and was not impressed. the place is small, dark, and loud (w/ music blaring and two tvs). their menu makes no sense. they have pictures of all the rolls, but they all look the same (a dollop of spicy mayonnaise looks the same, whether it's on a tuna roll or a tofu roll). it would be much easier to just have all text w/ descriptions. they didn't have any interesting vegetarian rolls (pretty much just avocado or cucumber). my mom got the eel roll and didn't like it (she said she couldn't even really taste the eel. all she tasted was the avocado). they had some korean dishes on the menu that we thought about trying, but the prices were more expensive than at other places. i much prefer o sushi, which is just down the road.

I went here on a dime when my favorite sushi place was not open yet! I was more than pleased with everything ordered...it was great! The staff the was very helpful and kind. At this location you get miso soup with your order, at my other spot I don't! I'll def be back!

Really good food here. The wait staff is always welcoming as well as the sushi chefs. It's always a pleasure going to kabuki. The sondabu/ Kalbi combo is the best

I wish I could rate each part of our service. We ordered 2 sushi rolls and when our rolls arrive ld we were never given plates so we had to stretch and hope we don't spill. We ordered combination meals to which I never received my salad and our drinks were never refilled. The food was good and prompt but the waiter was the worst I'd ever seen. We waited almost and hour for our bill when we had to ask for it. I'll keep my $50 and go someplace that cares.

Korean food is a newish love of mine. I had a Korean suitemate in college whose mother used to bring her happy nosh and she was a sharer. I discovered an intense love of kimchi and because of a lack of people to share this love with afterward, I no longer ate Korean food. Long into adulthood I found out what I had been missing by not just eating out alone. Terrific food. Happy bowls. Soups, rice dishes, marinated meats and all manner of deliciousness with little sides of fun to accompany them. A bit of sweetness with a sassy kick of heat. In other words, I had been a moron. This is a lovely and rather inexpensive place to explore. Very tasty seafood soondubu, one of my absolute fave Korean options. Thats enough to make me a happy camper. The seafood pancake was quite tasty too. On another occasion the bibimbap and hwedupbap were happy. The only sushi we explored was the spicy bowl of hwedupbap but going by that, the rest should be decent. I definitely plan on indulging in that chirashi that Kris recommends as I am a fan of the dish when it is done well too. Portions are generous. Service is fine. I have no complaints at all. I recommend giving it a whirl for Korean for sure.

Because of Yelp, I found this place. I could not believe how close it is to my house. I know that I have driven by this place a number of times. With this review, I will cut-to-the-chase. This place is "GOOD". It is a small place with about 10 tables. Nicely decorated. The lighting is subdued. The waitstaff is very nice and helpful. I wanted our sushi brought out on one of the wooden boats they use for special sushi dishes. The waitress said - this is only for special sushi, I will try my best. She did her best and my son's eyes lite-up when he saw the sushi boat. Our dinner consisted of California rolls( my son's favorite ), Veg. tempura, Kalbi( Korean grilled beef ribs ), and their Spicy Noodle Seafood. The sushi, Kalbi and Spicy Noodle Seafood that we had was Solid. I can even say Exceptional. The tempura, was the only thing that I thought was average. Note : This is a high-end Japanese / Korean restaurant. They use quality food with generous portions. With quality and generosity comes a price. When the food is so Good, you don't mind paying for it. Will I be back ? I can't wait until my next visit !

I thank fellow yelper Kris A for the enthusiastic review. I can't believe I never got to this place. It's probably the location in the 7th circle of hell that is Ford Rd and Lilley. However, I may need to get some exercise and walk up to Kabuki in the future! They were fast, super sweet, and the sushi was both delicious and reasonably priced! I had pretty standard stuff for me, Tuna Avocado which was not fatty and very good, and a philly roll which had the perfect crunch of cucumber, not too much cream cheese and delicious salmon! I'd definitely like to go back again and eat inside, there was no one in there today! One guy, actually, but he was doing the ipod and reading thing, so I wouldn't have been able to strike up a conversation. I'll definitely return!

The inside is very nice, though the services is kinds hit or miss. Been in here a couple times, I seem to always get the same waitress who does get the order right but I have to repeat it a out four times. None the less this to me is the Best place for sushi in Canton not to mention its close to shopping! Great place for lunch.

Consistently delivers great value. Friendly and fast service even when crowded. Come here often so glad I can alternate between Korean and Japanese dishes. Parking never an issue. Great place for groups smaller than 10.

Like SERIOUSLY! Gosh it' so good. Admittedly, I am not talking about the sushi here but every time I go I get the same thing - Seafood duru-chigi~ () and it is so awesome! Seriously guys, do yourself a favor (especially if you can handle the spice) and order it next time you go! It is portioned for two, but because of the strong spices, I would recommend going with 2 other people and sharing that and one other dish like a sushi roll or galbi :) Seriously FANTASTICO!

I've been to many sushi places, but Kabuki will always be my #1 spot!! The food is spectacular. The sushi is always fresh, and judging by the looks and taste, I do know that the ingredients are ALWAYS fresh! The Vegas roll is my ultimate favorite, along with the shrimp tempura roll, and the baked spicy shrimp & crab with crunch top. I also crave for the eel roll and their spicy tuna roll. Hubby loves the kalbi and the spicy seafood soup. The quality of the food is simply outstanding! And the presentation makes it even more appetizing. I love how the place is very cozy and that its location is perfect, for I can go shopping at nearby stores right after dinner! The service is excellent, and the staff always makes everyone feel welcome. Hubby and I are regulars at Kabuki, and I love how the entire staff from the owner to the chef, and the waitresses know our names and our "usual" order. It's the little things like this that make me love this place! The staff is amazing.. This is definitely my favorite restaurant! Once you try Kabuki, all the other sushi places won't be good enough!!

Usually come here - but tonight it was awful. No tuna in the tuna rolls - everything seemed rushed and half done. Won't go back again now... We are staying with O'Sushi.

Very impressed with the sushi here. I highly recommend ordering 1- spicy tuna crunch 1- calamari crunch 1- shrimp tempura The service is great! The inside is a bit small, but it's a nice environment. The staff seem friendly and answered any questions I had. I never would of went into this restaurant honestly because of its location and looks a bit sketch next to ikea; but it's definitely a "hole in the wall" business. I've tried many sushi restaurants and this is a return to!

  • Lauren W.

Went here today and all I can say is WOW. Like many others have said the outside looks a bit sketchy but the inside is comfortable and nice looking. The sushi was very fresh and delicious and the meal came with complimentary miso soup whiz was a nice touch compared to the sushi place I usually go to. The have a wide variety of rolls . And the gyazo (dumplings) were delicious as well. I'm not familiar with many of the other dishes, but from the looks of the tables around us I wouldn't mind giving them a try. This place is definitely something I would recommend !

Came across Kabuki on a Saturday night when Izakaya was packed up (as usual). Needless to say, I'm very glad we did. We made a return visit this Saturday for a date night. The space inside is very intimate, which is great for a couple or a family of four, but I wouldn't recommend trying to seat a large group. The staff is relatively lax but very friendly and welcoming. The sushi quality is very good, I don't think as good as Izakaya but comparable to O'Sushi. I'm a big fan of the Canton roll. Frankly though, the best part of the menu are the Korean entrees. My fiancée got the bibimbap and I got the kalbi and soondubu combo. The soondubu and bibimbap are both serve in stone bowls which keeps the food nice and hot throughout the meal. It's ends up being a ton of food and the flavors are fantastic. The spice level was balanced too, sating both her more sensitive palate and my love for heat. The bibimbap has become her go-to for whenever we visit Kabuki, and I may end up alternating between sushi and the combo because they're both so enjoyable.

Perhaps we came on a lazy day, but that's what we got: lazy food. Preparation was mediocre, and once again, temperatures and flavors were flat and cold, respectively. We happen to be in the area to do some shopping at IKEA, and were in the mood for some Korean food. I know what you all might be thinking, "why would you go to a Japanese named restaurant for Korean food?" You see, though Kabuki has an array of sushi rolls, they also have Korean selections. We went with their seafood soondubu (per recommendation from Liz W. - thanks chica!), bulgolgi, and gyoza appetizer. Tofu soup had good flavor, but it wasn't hot. In fact, it didn't come out bubbling like it's supposed to, and they already cracked the egg inside and didn't even mix it. It just clumped up into a hard ball, and wasn't appealing. Because the soup didn't come out bubbling, it made us wonder how long it had been sitting there, or if it was even made fresh. Portion size was typical, and for the $10.95 price tag, it felt short in the quality and variety of seafood. 1 shrimp, 2 bay scallops, and 1 clam doesn't scream variety to us. The bulgolgi ($12.95) had good flavor too, but once again, lukewarm to cool in temperature. Even the onions that were served with it weren't cooked evenly. Some were raw still, and some were nicely caramelized. Strange, no? Good portion though. Our gyoza appetizer had 6 nice size pieces, at $5.50. Crispy skin, and good filling, but the dipping sauce was horribly flat. It tasted mostly like sesame oil with sweet soy sauce. No heat, no acidity. Blah. After a couple dips, we just ended up eating it without the sauce. Banchan were below average in quality and variety. Kim chi wasn't spicy enough or with enough acidity. Too one note, and in this case, it was sweet. The pickled daikon and carrot were probably the only ones that were good, providing good crisp, cool, and tart texture/flavors. Fried tofu slivers were okay, but everything else, were a pass. Although our food wasn't to our 100% liking, the ladies who were manning the floor were sweet and quick on their feet. Big smiles on their faces, and they did check up on us. I just would have liked things to be a bit more put together when it comes to food preparations, quality control, and execution. Like I said, maybe it was just a lazy day that we came on, and I'd be willing to try this place out another time.

  • Diana K.

Just okay. Was in the area and thought to try it. I usually love the standard salad with ginger dressing at most sushi places but here, the dressing left a terrible aftertaste in my mouth. Seemed like onions that weren't fresh. Sushi rolls are decent but again, nothing special. Ordered a calamari roll which was good and a shrimp tempura roll that was a bit gummy. I doubt I'll return based on the food. Atmosphere and service were fine.

Wonderful. So glad we stopped. The Korean beef was delicious and perfectly prepared and our sushi order was delicious too. Udon was my son's favorite. "Just like being back in Japan" he said. The wait staff was only adequately attentive only filling up one of the two green tea cups and forgetting to give us two additional pairs of chop sticks we asked for. I went over and helped myself. NBD We'll definitely be back when in town.

Spicy seafood bibimbap & a hot love roll for dinner after work! (That was my first visit tip!) I've been back NUMEROUS times since my first visit. I absolutely LOVE Kabuki! The food is always of the highest quality, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I wish I could stop in more often than I do. I've had the Jpanese dinner dishes, rols & rols & rolls of sushi, sashimi, and many other dishes here and never left feeling anything other than delighted! I strongly recommend the Chirashi lunch or dinner bowl, it's absolutely incredible! Also, if you're so inclined, ask to see the Korean menu. I've had many of the items on it and they too are great! But you have to ask specifically for it. I've neglected getting this review posted because I wanted to keep Kabuki all to myself and a few close others, but they deserve serious accolades! Best in the area, hands down. Don;t take my word for it, try for yourself.

I wish I could rate it higher as the food was good. Our appetizer came out after we both had our meals. My boyfriend had sushi with his dinner and it was made incorrectly. We took it off and set it on a separate plate which they took back. With in a minute I watched them bring the plate to another table and give it to them. Hopefully for free. Ew. Lost our appetite after.

I've been to Kabuki several times. By the number of stars I gave them, I'm sure that speaks for themselves. Yes, I am a fan of this place. They give decent sushi at an affordable price. For a poor college student, this is my kind of place! I also love the appetizers as well. I always get the edamame and the ginger salad to start. Delicious! Give this place a try! The prices will definitely help!

Solid spot for a bento lunch box (at a decent price). The sushi was par for the course in terms of what you can find in Canton; not much to write home about.

I cannot believe that this place carries a 4+ rating. Kroger Sushi is better, seriously. These people can't even make a decent California roll. Sushi Zen in Brighton will blow your mind compared to this place in regard to the quality of sushi and presentation. In addition, the service was TERRIBLE, I watched my waitress along with other staff eating donuts at a table in the dining area while I waited over 10 minutes for my check (at which point I had to flag her down).

If I could give a half star, I would. I went here with my husband and friends for dinner tonight. What a disappointment! We all had Korean food. I had soondubu (tofu soup) and it was extremely salty. My husband had yukgajang (spicy beef stew) and it was also extremely salty. No wonder they had huge.. I mean gigantic cups for your drinks. I needed it! The positive: The owner was kind and came to us several times to see if we needed anything else which is not common for traditional Korean restaurants. Despite the nice service, however, that was my first and last meal at kabuki.

Kabuki is hidden from the main road... it's not easy to find, unless you've been there before. It's behind the VerizonWireless Store, next to Jimmy Johns, right after Chili's (going west on Ford Road). When we got there (Friday night around 7:30pm), it was busy... luckily one of our party members got there early to get a table for five. We were looking around to see what others were eating and we noticed that lot of the tables had this hot plate dish... we asked what it was and found out it was Spicy Seafood Mix on hot plate... $19. We ordered this to share... for myself, I got the Tuna Sashimi. Other foods we ordered, rolls, Chicken Teriyaki, Soontofu & Bulgogi Combo and seafood soontofu. Tuna Sashimi - it definitely was not top grade... but it was okay... 10 thick slices of Tuna for $14... while we waited for the hot plate, I tried the Chicken Teriyaki... they should rename it to 'Dry Chicken Teriyaki'... yeah, the chicken was overcooked and dry. OKAY, we got out Spicy Seafood Mix - it's a mixture of squid, mussels, salad shrimps, shrimps on shell, baby scallops, mixed with Udon Noodles along with onions, green onions. The taste was on the sweet side, however it helped to tone down the spiciness. I liked this dish and would order it again... If you go and order Korean food, do the Soontofu Combo, it'll allow you to try two dishes at once. While I didn't pay attention to all the prices for the Korean food, some of their items are pricy... It's probably one or two places in Canton that serves Korean food.

I mean, I love Kabuki. They have a weird policy where you can only use two cards per table, so if you're going with a large group go prepared. This time I ordered the I Love Shrimp Roll - Shrimp tempura, avacado, and deep fried tempura crumbs on top. Yummy! I brought my mentees here (first time they have ever had sushi) and they LOVED it! I also ordered shrimp tempura, can never go wrong. What else? Ginger salad, staple. Miso soup, reliable.

The rating is based on Korean food only. I knew this is another one of those Korean operated "sushi" restaurant that makes Americanized version, so I didn't bother with the "Japanese" menu. The Korean food is really good, a limited menu but for what they offer, the food is authentic, tasty, generous in portion, and a total winner. A soondubu and bulgolgi combo, with complimentary kimchi and 4 other banchan (small dishes) and tea, is under 15. Soondubu is hot and spicy stew made with silken tofu, served in a bubbling cauldron. Kabuki offers several varieties of this dish, I like seafood or combination which has a mixture of seafood and meat in the broth. Bulgolgi is my favourite way of eating rib-eye; sliced thin marinated and grilled. Kabuki makes a classic one. I hope more people will try kabuki Korean food.

Kabuki is one of three rather un-notable korean run "sushi" restaurants spread across the suburbs of Michigan. (Coincidentally, there is a chain with the same logo and name in LA, but i'm not sure of the connection.) The sushi is pretty cheap, but definitely not great at two stars. The fish was good enough, but the rice was all wrong in seasoning and texture. It's edible, but i'd probably goto izakaya sampei down the street for my japanese fix. What was substantially better is the quality and value of the four star food on the separate Korean Menu. We received a small but satisfying bowl of spicy soon tofu soup and a very generous portion of grilled "bul go gi beef" with 5-6 "panchan" side dishes for 12 dollars. Definitely enough food for two. The Korean menu also has all sorts of other authentic treats from noodles to rice dishes. Anyway, goto kabuki for the only real Korean food in the city of Canton.

Food is 2.5-star, Service is 2.0-sta, mainly because waitress is SO cheap on providing kimchee and other Korean free dishes during meal. They have provided decent food and service during my past visits, so I went there w my co-workers (six in total) during lunch. Three of us ordered Korean food and the other three ordered Japanese food. As lunches were brought out, this waitress brings out only one set of kimchee and few other free Korean dishes. Politely I asked if she can bring out another set of the dishes as there are six of us. Her reply, "only come for Korean food." Oh, okay.... With so many other lunch choices in the area, I'm not going back there. For this waitress being cheap on not giving out one extra set of kimchee, they've lost a repeat customer.

Kabuki... where to start.... Kabuki offers a variety of Korean and Japanese dishes at a very reasonable price. Take out from here is a great value although they do not provide the salad or the miso soup as they would when you dine in. The sashimi here is good. Have always had a great experience with their salmon. They also offer some delicious, cheaply priced rolls. Have to admit, after living in Japan for a year the offering is not very authentic- they offer more "americanized" dishes.... I used to love Izakaya Sanpei, the dishes they offer are more Japanese and offer a variety of very delicious dishes.... but, unfortunately, after their head chef left a few years back it hasnt been the same. For my little "Japanese" I will continue to swing in here....

Ok, so I went to Kabuki a couple more times. I've had the sushi, so this time I wanted other stuff. This time I knew about the secret menu that they don't bring you unless you ask! I realized that you only get the sushi menu if you don't request both menus. I'm a quick learner and I love Korean food, so that is what I got! The beef bulgogi is fantastic and the bi bim bap is delish! I really dig all of the random side dishes that come along with the Korean food. I haven't had the same 4 little bowls since! There is always something different in them. I have also had the udon. They bring it out to you in a big cauldron type of thing and it stays hot the whole time you are slurping it down! I love some udon, so I have to eat it everywhere that offers it. This is some of the best I have had locally. Check out Kabuki, but don't forget to ask for the super secret Korean menu!

The price is right but the overall experience was lacking. I really like sushi. It's a rare treat because I can eat it like candy. Maybe it is candy, rice-laden fishtastic candy, mmmmm. I ordered some individual nigiri and a few rolls. I was quickly served a tiny green salad with some kind of creamy dressing and a bowl of miso soup. The (iceberg) lettuce in the salad was watery, and the dressing was drowning it, making it messy to eat. There were a few shreds of carrot and perhaps something else. Very meh. The miso soup was nothing special. The nigiri was pretty good. The octopus was tender and not overcooked. The yellowtail was fresh and sweet, as it should be. The salmon was flavorful and without the slimy film it can get when it's old. Most of the rolls they offer are filled with things like cream cheese and seaweed salad, both of which I feel do not belong in sushi rolls. Call me a snob, go right ahead. I ordered a couple of simple rolls, a tasty spicy tuna roll and a shrimp tempura roll. The service was weirdly lacking. The place is not very big, perhaps 15 tables in all. There were never more than 4 tables seated at any time I was there. With three servers you would have thought there would be more attentive service. Once my order was taken the servers were quick to bring new dishes but then they would just as quickly scurry away. By the time I was done I had 5 serving dishes plus a small dish, a sauce dish, a large water glass and a cup of tea all crowding my table. Nothing was removed until I got the check. Nobody offered me any more tea; when I was finally able to ask for it none came until after the bill had been paid. The place looks and smells clean. The restrooms are accessible but it would be impossible to sit anywhere but a few tables for someone using a mobility device. Except for the main aisle between the table rows there isn't much room.. I am not sure where the curb cutout is in relation to the front door but it did not seem close by. I'm unlikely to return. If I'm going to spend the money on sushi I'd like it to be a better experience than this. p.s. The tv above my head showing the "Animal Planet" channel was either incredibly bizarre or serendipitous. I can't decide which.

On behalf of my Korean wife and myself this place sucks. The staff is friendly enough, even the sushi was ok, but we tend to judge a place by it's entrees and these were some of the biggest let downs we've ever had. If my wife can teach me how to make Korean dishes then why can't someone at a restaraunt know how to do it?? But to be fair this place isn't exclusive to this problem, pretty much all of the Japanese / Korean places that have opened within the last five years or so are like this.

I took my 9 year old sister here today who was not interested in trying sushi, but knowing Japanese restaurants, they usually have other delicious things for kids to eat. Except they really didn't have anything delicious for kids to eat. Pros: The sushi tasted ok, fresh. They serve beer and wine here. It is a nice, intimate setting. The price for the sushi was pretty reasonable. Cons: Very limited menu. I guess I am spoiled by places like Sushi House, where they have tons of other Japanese foods to choose from, like Udon noodles, or Chicken Katsu. The dressing on the salad was seriously 1,000 Island. gross. what happened to traditional Ginger or Peanut dressing? I snagged a piece of my sister's teriyaki chicken, and it was really really dry. It was an appetizer and it cost $7.50, which I thought was pretty pricey since it didn't even come with rice. The sushi was also rolled up pretty loose and sloppy. I will probably not be back. There are better sushi places to venture to in the area.

Can't say that I'm a fan of Kabuki. I have a real problem with business that close before their posted hours or at least will let you walk in the door, tell you they aren't serving food any more then change their mind. Top that off with the fact that you place your order for rolls and they can't prepare the cooked ones. All that BS aside, the sushi just wasn't that good. The rice was way too sweet, they were not rolled very tightly, and the spicy sauce was just spicy with no real flavor. They were so unfulfilling I found myself seeking other sustenance after eating my rolls. I might try Kabuki again when it is hours before closing time and I can eat in but I'll definitely hesitate following my experience there.

Seeking a quick bite before heading into work, I was risking it choosing Kabuki, a sushi bar I had only stopped in once before to pick up a take-out menu. I sat down at the bar with only 16 minutes to spare before I had to clock in (I work across the parking lot) and decided on the Eel Roll and Negi Hama Maki Roll, each of which were six pieces and $3.75 - they also came with miso soup and a house salad. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it was far from the worst. The miso soup was really good, and the salad dressing seemed more like Thousand Island than a ginger dressing, which was a refreshing change. The thing I liked most about Kabuki was how quickly I was served. My salad and soup were out no more than two minutes after I ordered and the sushi chef made my rolls in front of me and had them ready by the time I finished my soup and salad. All things considered, I'll definitely be returning to Kabuki, especially when I'm in a rush. Post Script: I made it to work with two minutes to spare.

A few pieces were not on my favorite list but all tasted extremely good and I will be back again.

    (1)
  • Diana K.

Usually come here - but tonight it was awful. No tuna in the tuna rolls - everything seemed rushed and half done. Won't go back again now... We are staying with O'Sushi.

Sushi rice was not seasoned properly. O'Sushi has a lot better quality food, but it is more expensive. I don't like iceberg lettuce, nor the "thousand island" type dressing on the salad...

Just went here, very disappointed overall. We ordered Kalbi, roll, and a seafood pancake. The Kalbi was really chewy, and gamey, would not get it again. The pancake and sushi roll were just ok, the pancake was really burnt. We often eat Korean food and will not be back here.

Don;t take my word for it, try for yourself.

i had lunch here today and was not impressed. the place is small, dark, and loud (w/ music blaring and two tvs). their menu makes no sense. they have pictures of all the rolls, but they all look the same (a dollop of spicy mayonnaise looks the same, whether it's on a tuna roll or a tofu roll). it would be much easier to just have all text w/ descriptions. they didn't have any interesting vegetarian rolls (pretty much just avocado or cucumber). my mom got the eel roll and didn't like it (she said she couldn't even really taste the eel. all she tasted was the avocado). they had some korean dishes on the menu that we thought about trying, but the prices were more expensive than at other places. i much prefer o sushi, which is just down the road.

I changed my mind on this restaurant after trying another local sushi restaurant. For the location, they're probably the best.

Udon is amazing....not too sure why they put the tempura shrimp directly in the soup though...makes them undesirable soggy. Still a great dish and the sushi is excellent. Run of the mill Japanese beer available...but they are all good!

My friends and I go here all the time after school. We absolutely love it! They have a great selection of sushi rolls and the prices aren't bad either. They're pretty fast at preparing it and the staff is so nice. My favorite sushi rolls are: Vegas roll, Double Climax roll, Sunday Morning, Black Mushroom, Baked Spicy Shrimp & Crab roll, and the Mexican roll

Sushi was awesome. Ginger salad dressing was plentiful and very tasty (for my fellow iceberg lettuce fans). Reasonably priced, great quality, good service. I will be back next time I head to Ikea!

Just went here, very disappointed overall. We ordered Kalbi, roll, and a seafood pancake. The Kalbi was really chewy, and gamey, would not get it again. The pancake and sushi roll were just ok, the pancake was really burnt. We often eat Korean food and will not be back here.
