Food is delicious here if you order right. My problem is the rudeness of the owners. For the record I have complained about this both in person and via email and they have not in any way apologized or sympathized. In person I got a lame explanation, attitude and a bit shamed for wanting and expecting to eat during their scheduled hours, via email I received no response after plenty of time now. My husband and I have made this our tradition after that first Christmas. On Christmas day it is always just us so we come here, eat Chinese then skip across the freeway to watch a movie at Emagine. We have come as late as seven pm and never a problem. We eat, getting some stuff to go for later and are usually happy as clams. This year we showed up at 5:30ish. I had called ahead (as I always do on Christmas) earlier that day to confirm their hours. I specifically asked what time will you be seating until. I was assured 7pm. We had to drop my parents at the airport so we were running late but we did get there an hour and a half before the seating cutoff they informed me of at 1pm. The problem is they had just cut off seating. We could get carry out but it was going to be about an hour (first told 45 minutes, then 50, then an hour) it turned into over an hour in reality, about an hour and 15. As we had planned it all out we bought movie tickets that were starting 2 hours and 15 minutes after 5:30, when we were supposed to be sat. That was the last showtime we could make and my husband still get sleep enough to work the next day. Well we lost out on the movie. Sad because they had us over a barrel, we had nowhere else planned to dine and had no idea what if anything would be open. By the hour and fifteen mark, then 20 minutes we trucked the food home, ate and returned after twenty minutes our movie would be half over. Oh yeah and I am diabetic and had taken my meds so I got charged wayyyyyy to much for a can of pop to up my blood sugar so I did not pass out. Thanks, so sympathetic. Basically this has totally soured us on the place. No sorry, no nothing just a blank stare and terse *owner decision*. Even though obviously others plan the same and about forty to fifty people showed up expecting to eat while we waited. Shame on them for ruining people's nights when they are between a rock and a hard place dining wise. I have no problem with restaurants closing for Christmas but it is rude to tell people a few hours before you will seat until 7 and then change your mind before 5:30 and not even be a hint apologetic. Yeah I loved the attitude and eyerolls too like they were doing us a MAJOR favor but putting up with us and giving us a to go. Guess that tells me all I need to know about how this business feels about their customers.

Best Chinese food in Canton, bar none. There is never too much breaking on different fried chicken meals and unlike most Chinese places where you feel gross after, the better quality food at Chopstick house makes you feel great afterward! A little more expensive then other places but you get what you pay for!

Best Chinese food in the area, bar none. I've been searching for a while and this has been consistently good in service and food. The food is fresh and hot. I've had the hot and sour soup which is both hot and sour without the gumminess at other Chinese joints. The food is not greasy and the egg foo young was hot off the wok sizzling from my plate, not droopy or soggy. I've had their appetizers and again the food is freshly prepared. While it may not be as "authentic" as some may want, this place is top notch for an American like me and I'm loving it!

If you're vegetarian or vegan don't waste your time. While they say they accommodate, they do NOT for lunch. While they have vegetarian options, you must buy the dinner or you're out of luck, and they could care less. Go somewhere else if you don't like it, is their attitude. So while people eating chicken, seafood, beef or pork can get lunch portions and prices, if you want a vegetarian or vegan meal, you get to pay 2 to 3x more and get a full dinner portion with no soup or sides. The manager couldn't even be bothered to come explain this, the poor waitress had to deal with it. Poor customer service, mediocre, buffet quality food, and with all the construction going on, tools and filth are in the dining room with you. There's another place, under a mile away on Lilly called Best China that was very accommodating, and excellent. There's a number of Chinese restaurants in Canton, so don't fall for Chopstick House's false claims that they care about customers needs. My entire workforce, numbering just over 20, are boycotting this place as well now.

The atmosphere was good. The service was very attentive. My Kung Pro chicken had the right amount of spice. Will return for another happy meal. The only negative was my wife's chicken with cashew nut had burnt nuts which made her meal not so good.

Great food. However, lately I've been receiving small/oddly sized portions with my lunch specials. They also never make my dish spicy enough despite my major emphasis on wanting it extra spicy. Wouldn't recommend ordering delivery during the lunch hour. You will be waiting for at least an hour for your now lukewarm food. Any other time of day they're very speedy.

I love this restaurant! I have been pleased with the service and friendliness that I have received EACH AND EVERY TIME!!!!! I love the healthy dish offerings that they has as well. I drive all the time from Ann Arbor just to come here. EXCELLENT PLACE!!!!! Not your ordinary Chinese food, better quality, better taste, better service!!!

My favorite Chinese place in Canton. The food never disappoints me. In fact, I am eating my leftover cold noodles with peanut sauce as I type! It's one of those places where the food is so good you want to keep eating even though you're stuffed. My favorite dish is the beef with hot peppers and peanuts. Probably not their most popular menu item but to me it's the best! However, they could make it a tad spicier when I ask for a high heat level. I enjoy they staff, I always get good service. I order delivery from them a lot and my orders are always correct and delivered in a fair amount of time. I will not order Chinese from any other place in Canton, none of them compare!

It's true, Asian restaurants have two menus. One for the gringos bland taste (as my white girlfriend would say). And a secret menu for fellow Asians. So keep this in mind as y'all compare restaurants. Try not to compare gringo-menus VS authentic-menus, the gringo-menus will never perform well when judged by people with complex taste preferences. With that being said; chopstick house does not offer two menus. They only have the gringo menu, and to be honest it's not that bad. Coming from an Asian raised on the complex flavors, the dishes we ordered did not offend me. All the food was fresh, and they didn't skimp on the portions. If your looking for authentic Asian food and your not Asian, find a friend that speaks the language and head up to Madison heights. BUT if your a gringo that doesn't know the difference then this place is as close as your gonna get.

The chicken and shrimp had a lot of breading, the shrimp was tough, and the sauce was way too sweet. Sze Chuan is so much better than this place. I won't be ordering from here again.

This has been our favorite place for Chinese food for years- we recently ordered and the food was completely different! The specials were much smaller (lunch) and everything has changed (egg drop soup different, fried rice different and all 4 of our meals had different flavors than we have ever had- the sauce wasn't the same on one of them). Not sure of the change??

We stopped in for some Chinese food on a cold January evening and had the place almost to ourselves. My wife had her usual Almond Chicken and it came out with a light batter and some almonds sprinkled over the top. It came with a yellow gravy and tasted pretty good. She is very picky on what type of oil it's fried in, and she wasn't crazy about the flavor. It came with white rice. I ordered the Happy Family extra spicy and it was delicious. The waitress forgot to order it spicy, so she brought out a small dish with chili oil and ground peppers which was perfect. It came with brown rice for a one dollar charge. We ordered hot tea and Crab Rangoons and enjoyed a good meal. All items were ala carte and we are used to getting a meal with soup, egg roll, fried rice, and hot tea. So it was a little pricier than our regular Chinese place, but it was quite good. The Happy Family was served with a very fancy carved cucumber to dress up the dish and it looked as good as it tasted. I'm going 3 stars for our first meal here, but I'll be back...

Had Almond Chicken. Did not come with any lettuce. Just gravy and fried coated chicken. This was a to go order. Chicken was very dry. They do not have egg rolls so went with the Spring Roll. I hate shrimp and what did I bit into was a tiny shrimp. YUCK. Fried rice was okay but would not order it again either. No wonder the place had very little business.

Food is really great. My only complain is when I was there last and ordered the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer we didn't have enough lettuce to eat chicken wraps and asked for more and the waitress said she would have to charge us double for more lettuce which I think is crazy when it's just lettuce!

I have been on the look out for good Chinese in Canton for quite awhile. I have been here twice and can say that most of the reviews are pretty accurate You can get a nice, quiet, dinner for a good price. I like the steamed vegetables with chicken and rice, Almost makes me want to pay with my blue cross card A nice alternative to the usual heavy, greasy fare served at other places. Service is a little slow only due to the fact they have one server, But it was not too painful. The servers both times were very kind and attentive, but the language barriers were obvious. The front desk staff tends to be a little bit stiff and unfriendly, but it might be a cultural thing. If Chopsticks polished up there customer service skills, I would give it 5 stars.

This would be a 2.5 if I could do such a thing. First, I'm picky about my Chinese food. I still haven't found my go-to place in Canton yet, so I stopped in at Chopstick house since it's on my way home. I've been there 3 times now and sampled: 1. Almond chicken - It's OK. Nothing spectacular compared with some other places. Probably in the top 30% of places I've been. 2. Garlic, spicy chicken - Pretty good. NOT spicy. Could have used more HOT and Garlic. 3. Unknown seafood bonanza dish - Outside my comfort zone, and DELICIOUS! All types of seafood served with noodles. Very good! One suggestion - try some seasoning (stuff is a little bland). 4. Fried rice - actually pretty tasty served with #1 & #2 above 5. Egg rolls - Better than spring rolls, but still could use some more bean sprouts. The decor is nice, the people pleasant, and the location pretty good (for me at least). Not my final choice, but I'll probably return sometime.

Good food, good price, and portions big enough that the wife and I could share one dinner and have plenty to eat. I only gave it 4 stars because we asked for our General Tso's to be spicy and it didn't have much kick. Otherwise, the wonton soup, spring rolls, and complimentary fruit after the meal were all very good!

Love this place! It's a curse and a blessing that they can deliver to my house. I havent ordered anything I havent liked. All of the fried dishes are amazing, light, crispy, sauces are not too gloopy. This is our chinese staple for delivery. In-restaurant dining is so-so, quiet, but kinda cramped. This is chinese food thats better to eat at home, feels best in your dining room and makes you feel only slightly guilty when you try to pair it with sweatpants and netflix.

The crispy duck is delicious. I have been to the restaurant once and the service was not pleasant but the food was delicious. Now we only order the crispy duck to-go. I recommend this place for fast, American-Chinese food.

I go here often cuz it's 5 minutes away from my house. It's a nice little spot that "feels" like an asian restaurant from the color scheme, to the furniture, to the decorations. I'm always greeted by a nice staff and thats always a pleasant feeling. I went here for Valentine's day, and the wait was reasonable. I always get the general tso chicken cuz it's pretty good here and it's typically a safe entree to get. I always enjoy it here and always comes out as expected. No surprises here. Not too wet and not too saucy. Good texture to the bite and not too doughy. They provided a compliment cake after dinner which was delightful to eat. This just translates to saving me more money so the wife won't force me into getting dessert post-dinner. Prices are reasonable with great staff. I always seem to receive great fortune from their fortune cookies.

I ordered their lunch vegetable medley with ginger and garlic sauce with fried rice and a vegetable spring roll! Very flavorful and delicious ! Didn't miss meat at all! And delivery was good but they charge 6$ to deliver to your house !

I went here today on the advice of my friend. We decided to do a sit down. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was a nice quaint spot. The only downside is that there are no Combos at Dinner. Only a la Carte. I ordered the Szechuan chicken, Spring roll and Wonton Soup. The food was good. The Szechuan was not as spicy as I wanted it to be. I am a spicy kinda guy so I ordered medium plus but it was kind of medium mild(If there is such a thing this was it). I will order Plus next time knowing this. It had a good veggie mixture and an OK amount of chicken. My friend had the Chicken Lo Mein. It was good also. She thought the noodles should have been smaller but I begged to differ on that one. She did not even want a Fortune cookie. Who does not want a fortune cookie!? I digress. Anyway....I would agree that It is one of the best places to eat Chinese and take out in the area.

OH MY....all I can say for this "MOM & POP" restaurant is "MMMM MMMM great"!! We go into the restaurant and the ambiance is quite quiet. We are greeted with a smile each and every time we visit. They never forget to tell us to "watch the step" either! There is a small step as you enter the restaurant and I have a disability therefore they always make sure to tell me to "watch my step". I love that they care enough to always tell me without fail! I've noticed that they also tell everyone to "watch their step" too, so that's a relief! Now, for the staff...they are A++ in my book! Always very friendly and they remember what we've ordered in the past ! They impress me by the way they remember how I like everything and what I like and don't like! It's not like any other Chinese Restaurant that I've ever been to. It's not your big commercial Chinese chain and its' not a little "take out" dive either. It's beautiful inside as far as the decor goes! They have a small aquarium when you first walk inside and it's lit dimly and just a great little Chinese "MOM and POP" place if you ask me! The food is "to die for"~ It is sooo great! If you go before 2pm on weekdays you can even pick up your dinner and re-heat it at home later while receiving: soup, spring roll or crab rangoon and your main entree with veg. fried rice if you so choose instead of the white "sticky" rice. The price is waaay cheap if you do it this way especially. On the other hand, if you want a moderately priced wonderful ambiance and great food restaurant to go out on a "date" with your significant other or your hubby /wife...you would definitely want to give this little place with a big taste, a chance! I can guarantee you without a doubt that you will love everything about this little Chinese "family owned" place to have lunch or dinner in style but not a big price! My favorite meal is the Sesame Pork with Broccoli ...OMG!! It's so yummy! It is just the right crunch and sweetness while still tasting like a wonderful pork dinner and the broccoli is always cooked to perfection! Never too tough or too overcooked, but just right! My husband loves the lemon chicken or the sweet and sour Pork or Chichen with Vegetable fried rice and my daughter loves their cashew chicken with the vegetable fried rice! WE all share and eat each others food and enjoy a delectible, wonderful, tasteful and delicious meal together! I highly recommend this out of the way, Mom and Pop Chinese Restaurant...and by the way, it's nice and clean too!

This is the best Chinese food in Canton. We always order the General Tso chicken or Kung Pao chicken and it's always delicious. They must use fresh ingredients and chicken breast meat, because it just tastes so much better than other restaurants in he area. Also, they have brown rice! I've always had friendly service when I call ahead for take out.

I was in town visiting friends & wanted something other then pizza that delivered. After reading several yelp reviews I decided to go with this one. The food was good, I got the lunch special of orange chicken with fried rice, wonton soup & a spring roll. The orange chicken had to much fat on it for my liking but the fried rice was very good. I don't like that they charge you a dollar per mile for delivery or $.50 per mile since they go both ways. I paid an extra $6.00 for them to drive 6 miles to me and then I felt I should still tip so that to me is a little odd but other then that good food and got here pretty quick.

A+ for the apps, C+ for the entree. I was in town for business and looking for some Chinese for dinner and this place popped up on google. The appetizers I had (pot sticker and crab rangoon) were really good, some of the best I've had. I ordered Mongolian beef for the entree and was let down a bit. Plenty of beef, but the sauce was a bit bland compared to what I usually get back home in Chinatown. Still a GREAT value, very reasonable prices, I'll be back to see if some of the other entrees do them more justice.

The food was very tasty, the dumplings were the best we have had. My Double Delight (H12) was quite good and my husband enjoyed his Curry Delight. Will eat again, service was attentive, nice music, decor. They even deliver meals.

Came here for lunch with the wife. She had the Almond chicken and me the Szechuan chicken. Both lunch specials with hot and sour soup and an egg roll. It's way far away from our house but we were at ikea and wanted to eat (not at ikea). It's almost work the over 1 hour drive!!! I am considering going back soon just for food because it was that good. I did watch a customer fight with one of the lady employees in the lobby and felt bad because of his lack of understanding and how rude he was so we over tipped.

This is a great restaurant. As many reviewers have already pointed out, the wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. Now for the food--it is consistently great! I absolutely looovvvee Hunan Chicken, and Chopstick House has mastered the dish. I ordered it the first time I went there, and I'm hooked. I haven't had the heart to order anything else when I go there. I also have to say that they have excellent hot and sour soup--my other favorite Asian food staple. I recommend this place to anyone who wants great food and service at great prices.

They have some great hunan chicken. Picked up dinner with a friend (I ordered hunan chicken, veggie fried rice with no MSG, and hot and sour soup - she got sweet and sour chicken with brown rice and wonton soup). Both the hunan chicken and fried rice were pretty good, she was disappointed with her sweet and sour chicken. I didn't particularly like the hot and sour soup - there was just something off about it, and the crispy noodles we got with our meals were pretty stale. Over all - the hunan chicken made up for this though. Good place :)

Came in for lunch during one of my rare afternoons off from work, and was pleasantly surprised. The lunch special is 7 days a week until 3:00PM! And it is well worth the 6-8 dollars because the lunch special includes a choice of soup and a spring roll OR crab rangoon with your entree and choice of rice. I had the General Tso's chicken as it is a good barometer of what kind of place you're at... and it was mighty delicious. It was medium spicy just how i like it, the fried rice was seasoned well and the crab rangoon was even hot and crisp and cheesy good. Of course this isn't your authentic chinese place, but it's also not the greasy, take out only, poor quality food chinese food stand either. I would not hesistate to bring my wife here for a nice lunch out or a quiet dinner. I will be definitely be back to try the other lunch combos (you can even get a sizzling meat dish as a lunch combo which I've NEVER seen before!). Bonus as for an extra $1 you can get brown rice, which has more fiber and is slightly healthier for you.

Ok; this was my third chinese restaurant since moving to the area. While the food wasn't bad, it's not the best "In My Opinion" of the three I've had. While the shrimp fried rice was flavorful it didn't have that authentic taste of fish oil and soy sauce, plus the shrimp wasn't De - veined, their General Tso wasn't bad, the flavors was off and the pan fried dumplings was generic warehouse bought, which appears to be the norm with most of the Chinese restaurant in this area. Overall my experience was 6 out of 10. NOTE: To be far....... Chopstick House does offer two different menus "American and Authentic". Chinese food is difficult to rate fairly, because everyone has a different take on what's authentic chinese. For me I'm still giving "Best China" on Lilly & Warren the #1 spot.

    (3)
  • Amy G.

All our dishes were included components that were fried heavily, more so than the average Chinese restaurant, and saturated with oil. I felt interminably thirsty and heavy from dinner. I suppose it is more difficult to get fresh ingredients in MI than on the West coast where I've had most my Chinese restaurant food, so upping the oil in cooking is one way to make the food seem more appetizing.

This place will charge you extra if you use a credit card. They won't tell you but there is a sign posted. Credit cards are part of doing business. Don't charge customers extra! I'll pass and take my business to Szechuan on Ford Road.

My Chinese wife is always looking for authentic cuisine instead of the numerous Americanized restaurants that litter our area. Of course, we're both hesitant to spend money on new places that we may not fully enjoy. Well, we came to the Chopstick House based on Yelp's favorable reviews. I looked up their menu online to see that I could at least get spicy chicken, which is my favorite faux Chinese item. I don't care for traditional Chinese food, but that's what she wanted. While there, she spent quite some time studying the menu for something she wanted. She said the menu was filled with a lot of non-Chinese items. She even spoke to a manager, but he said, "We don't serve traditional Chinese items. We serve more of the, um, you know... more popular American choices." My wife ordered something she would like anyway. I ordered the spicy chicken with peanuts and peppers, and I got it with a hot spice level. It was a large portion. However, it was not very spicy at all and only had maybe four dried peppers in it. It was still good but definitely not as spicy as the waitress indicated it would be. Temperature-wise, it was also somewhat warm. She ordered the "triple hot pot," which is a soup filled with chicken, beef, shrimp, and several vegetables and mushrooms. She said it was very good but commented on the low level of meat in it. Because of the large number of other places we have yet to try, there's a chance we simply might not come back here. Although, from my perspective, it was good. From my wife's Chinese perspective, she said, "Eh, it was okay."

Very good food......Hot and Sour soup is tasty. Servers and staff are so nice.....the bathroom's aren't as clean as they should be.....but other than that it's ok. We stop here for lunch every time we go to IKEA. The food: It's very good......fresh and made to order. My only complaint was I had spring rolls last time (on a Sat) and they contained shrimp. I am allergic to shrimp. Didn't turn out well. The menu indicated they are veggie but I am told on the weekends, they serve them with Shrimp. This info should be told to customers ahead of time. Due to this.....I don't think I will return. I can't take that change again.

I called for a delivery and was told 30-45 minutes which I had no problem with. The driver arrived literally 20 minutes after I called! Add to that the food tastes absolutely amazing! I ordered the shrimp lo mein with crab rangoon and a spring roll and I have to say that this is some of the best food that I have! Definitely a place I'll try again.

We ordered chicken fire rice and Mongolian beef. We got a lo mein instead. We called back and told the man and he got mad and cues me of being racist because he's Chinese.. My nephews are Asian. He thought we wanted to get a free order but I willing to pay for his mistake I really just had a craving for Mongolian beef anyways in the end food wasn't great rice was dried out but beef in the noodle was good

My family and I order delivery from the Chopstick House fairly ofter, and we are becoming big fans. Prices are reasonable, delivery is quick and food is good. I like that you can order almost anything with different levels of hotness, so we usually mix it up a bit. The Sesame Chicken is awesome.

My husband and I are always on the lookout for good Chinese food. So when we heard about this place, we had to try it out. It's located on the same street as our current favourite Chinese restaurant, Best China, but on the other side of Ford, so we never noticed that it existed. We went on one Saturday, and had a late lunch. It was about 1:30 pm when we arrived, so the place wasn't packed, but there were few tables of people still dining there. During our stay, they seemed to have been receiving take-out orders continuously, as we saw a guy going in and out with food in his arms. Their lunch special seemed to be pretty good deal, as it's offered 7 days a week. I ordered off their lunch special, and my husband ordered from the regular (dinner) menu, and we shared an appetizer. I had the 3-ingredient sizzling plate (the last item on the lunch special menu), with a spring roll, hot and sour soup and fried rice. My husband had the crispy noodles with all kinds of meats (beef, shrimps, scallops, etc.), and we had an order of steamed vegetable dumplings. They first served us with a bowl of deep fried wonton skin kinda thing as an appetizer, I assume, with 2 kinds of sauces: soy based and sweet and sour. We didn't know what to think of it, as it didn't seem very authentic, nonetheless, we still enjoyed the crunchiness of the wonton skin. Then came the soup. It was neither great nor disappointing, just an average tasting soup. At least, it tasted much better than the one from some Chinese buffet places. Everything else sort of came together, except for the steamed dumplings, which the waitress did say that they would take a little longer. What we found strange was that my husband's order of noodles came with a bowl of plain white rice... Never had noodles with rice (double carbs!), but we ate it anyway. The spring roll was good-sized, but it tasted OK. It was a bit bland. Now that I think of it, maybe the sweet and sour sauce that came with the wonton skin would have gone nicely with the spring roll, but it's an afterthought. The 3-ingredient sizzling plate actually exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't call it an authentic Chinese dish, but it was Americanized Chinese food made pretty yummy. The fried rice was pretty standard, and I had it with the sauce from the sizzling plate. My husband's noodle was huge! We were shocked at how big the portion was! And it comes with rice! He said the beef had a bit of a weird taste, but overall, he liked it. Now comes the highlight of the meal... The steamed dumplings! I LOVED them! The skin is a bit thicker than how I usually would like, but it's chewy and not hard. I had them with the soy-based sauce that came with the wonton skin, and it was great! I would go back there just to have those dumplings again! Maybe their other dumplings are good too... like the potstickers. We shall find out... :) The waitress was very nice, and maybe because it was not a busy time, she was pretty chatty. The service was pretty quick and timely, and I enjoyed it overall.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. It is our absolutely favorite chinese restaurant in the area. We order take-out almost weekly and are never disappointed. We have also eaten in the dining room multiple times. The restaurant is small and tastefully decorated, although not fancy. Unlike most chinese restaurants that serve on heavy duty plates, Chopstix House serves on contemporary dishes that enhance the presentation. The food is consistently tasty and well prepared. My favorites are any of the entrees with Ginger & Garlic Sauce. Yum! The owners are friendly and professional at all times. I agree with many others that our former favorite was Szechuan on Ford Rd., but this tops it.

This place hasn't disappointed me in any way! They used to have the super-thick scallion pancakes (which I hated) but they seem to have changed to the thinner style now. So I am happy. They have the style of general chicken where it comes out with a red colored sauce. I personally like general chicken that is drenched in the near-black sauce. I love their hot pot dishes, all of them are good. Eggplant hotpot is good too; for those with a bias against eggplants. Besides the hot pot dishes, I love their curry medley! This place is definitely on par with Sze-chuan.

Somewhere between a 3-4 star rating. Freshly prepared Chinese food and comfy seats to sit in while you enjoy it. People who greeted and waited on us were friendly... portions generous.

I have been frequenting this restaurant ever since they opened. The food is terrific, and I love that they deliver. I think my new favorite is the Singapore Noodles, but the Orange Chicken is to die for. Always a tough choice.

I was impressed! I'd read that this was opened by some former employees of Szechuan (our fav Chinese restaurant), so we checked it out for lunch. I had the Shrimp with Spicy Szechuan sauce for $6.75. Mine came with wonton soup, crab rangoons and fried rice. I love wonton soup, but I usually hate the wontons - it's the mystery meat. This whole soup was delicious, including small, tasty wontons. One of the best wonton soups I've had. Rangoons were packed with cheese and onions, and the dipping sauce was slightly different than Szechuan's. My whole meal was just slightly better than Szechuan (and I hate saying it). Ken had the General Tsou's chicken. Egg drop soup was thin and tasty. He also loved the rangoons. His chicken... hmm... it was OK. And that, to me, is being nice. The sauce was nothing like Szechuan's, which is our fav General sauce. It almost tasted like they forgot to add a critical ingredient. He'd try it again though. Like Jenny J, I noticed they had veggie options for many popular dishes like General's. I asked if they subbed tofu for the meat and the hostess said 'no, soy'. I'm not too hip on the difference but for those of you who are this could make a difference...?

I looked up chinese restaraunts that deliver in the Canton area, that would deliver to my office-while a risky venture I know thought I would take a shot! I found Chop stick house on line, and the girl that works with me has vouched she had eaten there previously and it was good, so I trusted her opinion. Their website had all of their options and prices listed, we called and ordered and the cashier gave us the total. There was a seven dollar difference in what I came up with..I asked her what the cost was per meal and what was the delivery charge? The delivery was $6.00 and the meals we ordered had a $0.25 difference, I asked her if she knew the web prices were different and since thats what had been advertised could I have that price? She said no, and they knew the prices were different but that the owner would most likely not give me the difference off. THe cashier then offered me the owners cell phone for me to call and ask him...????? I told her that would not be necessary, and I would pay the difference but if she could check with him maybe he could refund the difference on our next order. The cashier expalined she had no control but would offer a dollar off of the delivery charge, I told her that was fine. The delivery guy gets here and gives me the regular total, I mentioned the dollar off and he says ,"oh it was already taken off", however the total was the same, as I had written it down. I paid the dollar, and the full price for the meals,(4 of them) even though the website advertised cheaper. I am not petty and will pay for good food, however if you advertie one price, give that price and if you say you are going to take a dollar off, take the dollar off delivery. The food was decent, but I would have to say the service is not up to par as far as having good business practices...whether it was a dollar or not...provide what you say.

I was so excited to eat here because of the great reviews. I ordered steamed potstickers and sweet and sour chicken. How can you go wrong? The potstickers were okay but tasted a little raw and were soggy. The white rice was boring. There was barely any vegetables. I think I had one chopped green pepper and two slivers of carrots and I believe I recognized a piece of onion. The chicken was disgusting! It was so overcooked that it was burned in some spots and barely edible. It was more like chicken jerky. I could not even cut it with a knife. It was like it was leftover chicken that they refried. I could not chew and had to drink tons of water just to swallow a piece. The sauce was okay but lacked spice , almost as if it came out of a can. For the cost, it was not worth it. Way over priced and you dont even get an egg roll with it. This was my first try at Chinese here in Canton and as I lay here feeling sick to my stomach, I won't be returning.

I tried this for the first time tonight. They deliver, so that was the first plus. I had the chicken with hot peppers and peanuts, and the vegetarian's delight. The chicken was requested as very spicy and while it packed some heat, it wasn't quite as hot as I would have liked. No fault on their part, just a high heat tolerance on my part. It was flavorful and is something I will order again. The vegetables were an attempt on my part to make the meal healthier, and were made up of a nice blend.

Quick and attentive service. We're pescatarian, and there was a good selection of tofu, veggie chicken, and fish dishes. Dishes were generous and flavorful. Veggies were crisp and fresh. The rest of my family is a wimpy about spicy food so we ordered everything "medium" which I was expecting to be pretty mild. I was pleasantly surprised that the Home Style Tofu had a good bite to it! Sauces a little on the thick side, but quite good. Prices were quite reasonable. Try the Hunan Fish! Wish it was a little closer to Ann Arbor, but we're always looking for good places near Ikea.

Chopstick House is the new place we are getting our Chinese food from now on. This place is Amazing! You can get Poultry dishes at about $9.25 and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was great. The sauce was very Flavorful. Just enough Sweetness and enough tangy taste. It really is the best Sweet and Sour Sauce I have had at a Chinese Restaurant. Vegetable dishes at $7.95 and Lo Mein between $6.75 and $7.75. They also lots of other Chinese dishes I have yet to ever have. Those prices are in Quarts so I think it's pretty reasonable. The Vegetable Lo Mein is wonderful. I think I may have tasted the best Lo Mein in my life, as I had said the Sweet and Sour Chicken was great. Mainly because of it's great sauce. They are also a Chinese Restaurant serving Brown Rice so of coarse it is a plus for me. The spring rolls were also delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised that they kept the grease on the food to a minimum. The staff was pretty friendly though we did just get takeout. They also deliver which was another pleasant surprise.I have never dinned in. I would highly recommend this place to anyone reading right now. If you are craving Chinese and are looking here on yelp for a place to go try the Chopstick House.

Lots of problems with our food and service yesterday. 1. It took nearly 50 minutes for my carry out to be ready. 2. My son always orders sesame chicken and yesterday it was made with some type of pre-fab chicken nugget, not even actual pieces of chicken - it was dry and inedible, we threw it out. My husband ordered sizzling pan fried noodle and it tasted like cleaning fluid - we threw it out. 3. The soup was tasty but not hot and lastly 4. The Chicken Lo Mein had hardly any chicken, and it was not actual chicken pieces, it too seemed to be pre-fab. We have been to this restaurant several times and it has steadily gone down hill, unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Canton. My husband and I have had the Ta-Chien chicken, General Tsou's chicken and the Hunan chicken which have all been great. The inside of this restaurant seems much bigger once you step in than it appears from the outside. It's clean and one of the prettier Chinese restaurants that I have been to in the area. One of our friends who is a vegetarian loves coming here because of the great veggie and faux meat options. Expect to have a ton of leftovers as the portions are huge.

Pretty good American Chinese food restaurant. We got General Tso's chicken and kung pao chicken. The service was good and fast. The food was reasonable priced too, both dishes were just under $7 each. Will definitely be coming back again sometime.

I've been hearing only good things about "Chopstick House", so I thought I'd give it a shot. It very close to work (walking distance), so I ordered carry out. Was very pleased on the look and feel of the dinning room and was very happy with the service I received. I ordered the Almond Chicken dinner with White Rice. I was more than pleased with the quality & quantity of food I received. I would order from here again & recommend to try it for yourself!!

Best Chinese food around. Get the lunch specials, get the Hot and Sour soup, get either the General Tsaos or Shrimp in Szechuan sauce and get happy.

Chopstick House is excellent. It's always clean. Servers are attentive and nice. The lunch specials can't be beat; they come with soup and crab rangoon or a spring roll. Try the Sizzling Beef, it is so, so good. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
