Basement Burger Bar Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My family and I went to this location on August 21, 2015 for the first time visiting family for wedding. We noticed the happy hour menu options right away from 3 PM to 6 PM and again starting at 10 PM to 2 AM. The service was great and the food was even better we love this location and wish we had a basement burger bar in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I had the sampler platter with three menu options, my brother had the nachos with cheese quesadillas, my daughter had the wings which was on the happy hour special, mother order happy mini burgers and my boyfriend had the Build your own burger and added fries and drink. All the food was delicious and were sampled off of all of our meals. The only suggestion that I would have is for all the meals to include fries and just to add a drink for extra charge We would definitely come back to this location next time were in town

My sister craved burger and we yelped this place! Couldnt imagine we would have one of the best burgers of all times! We sat at the bar and got one to go! We custom ordered and mentioned we r in rush. They prepared it so fast although it was sooo crowded. Next time we went for dine in, I ordered the kobe burger. Absolutely awesome. I got it with a side of trater totes and they were delicious. Crispy and yummy! This burger makes 3 meals for me! Im not a big eater but the burgers are huge :)

Among all the burger bars popping up, I like BBB for their variety and humor on the menu: "Wagu beef as a result of the cattle being massaged with sake and fed a special diet including a page quantity of beer".

I decided to stop in to grab a takeout order. Thoughts of a burger at the park appealed to me on a nice warm day. I decided to try this place since I always have seen it. I was curious. The parking lot is terrible. The parking lot is not the owners fault but it is the fault but of whoever owns the property for this strip mall. It's ridiculous. Seeing that there are a few businesses here than you would think that they would repair this. Upon entering the location I was surprised at how lively and full it was. I had been here when this place was a BBQ joint but there was not as many people. This is not odd and points to why the business did not survive long. The place is a bar/eating place. it has TV's for watching sports and such. It is not large but a decent size. We were directed to the Takeout ordering station and given a menu. The gentleman that served us was very attentive and explained the menu to us. As we browsed the menu we were given a black marker to select our orders. There was a burger side and a Salad side to make your selections from. Very unique, There were many items to pick from. There was a Bison burger, Wagu, beef and a turkey burger to select from. The toppings were major. Anything from Mustard/Ketchup to Peanut butter or Jalapenos. The bread selections were white bun, wheat or pretzel. I selected the Wagu, Medium well with mustard, pickles, onions with wheat bread. She got the Turkey burger with beer battered fries. Upon arriving at the park we opened the bags. The sandwiches were pretty large indeed. The burger was well prepared and flavorful. I also tried the Turkey burger but I preferred my burger instead. I would definitely visit again.

4.5 stars impression on first visit! I visited this place yesterday with a couple of friends. They said you could get a very good burger here, but didn't say much else. When we went, I found it to be a "build your burger" place, much like the old Ottowa Tavern that I used to enjoy. The place was small, but I hear it is always busy and it was so, even after the main lunch hour on a Sunday - and I can understand why: the burgers are excellent. I love the options offered. You select your bun, the meat (I chose bison, which I was very happy with as it was juicy and very flavorful), the sauce and toppings. There was quite a large selection of each. The sides were also good. I was also happy to see a decent craft beer selection on draft and I got an Atwater Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale, which I felt complemented my burger and toppings very well. Great food, drinks and service! I think I will be suggesting this place when I'm back on this side of town to visit!

Perfect beer and burger joint. Customizable burgers (even the bun!) and loads of good craft beer. Make sure you are hungry and can take a nap or take is easy after dinner here

Just ordered carry out, ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was even labeled bacon cheeseburger in marker on the wrapper, but no bacon anywhere to be found. Very disappointed.

Did not care for the taste of the burgers...tasted like they were just fried in a skillet, no flavor.

This is my first time at a Basement Burger Bar, and my first time to this location. I'll be returning for more sometime in the future to reassess my opinion and review if anything changes. Went today, a Sunday, at around two p.m. This seemed to be a good hour to go. It wasn't completely crowded and we got seated right away. First impressions: The wait staff seemed very upbeat and friendly and eager to serve and please. The method for selecting your burger was great. You receive a laminated page with an erasable marker, and you check off your type of patty, bun, and any toppings you'd like. This is preferable in my opinion, since it leaves very little room for error on anyone's part. I ordered a bison burger with a pretzel bun and a load of spicy toppings. It was immaculate. I loved it. I've had bison burgers before, but this definitely took the cake. The pretzel bun was luckily sturdy enough to hold everything in place for the most part. If you order a beef burger, you can get a 6 or 8 oz. Husband ordered a plain 8 oz. and it was massive, even without toppings. My burger was so big and tall that it was challenging to eat. Just how I like it! It was messy, but incredible. The beer-battered fries were amazing, especially with ranch. They were the perfect blend of soft and crispy. Might try another side next time I go. The only thing about BBB that I would improve is the size of the restaurant and the amount of seating. Even at a good time as between lunch and dinner on a Sunday, it seemed like there wasn't enough room, even with the few amount of customers there. So a half-empty room at BBB feels like "mostly full." Also because the place is so small, the volume of conversation is above average. Not good for those looking for quiet comfort. It got quieter at around early three o' clock, though, as more people left. They have vegetarian options, as well, and though I'm not a vegetarian, I can see how others might appreciate this. I also approve of the larger sized drink cups. With the ton of food they bring you, you're going to be doing a lot of drinking to wash it down, and the fewer refills you need, the better. I didn't even need one refill, whereas I usually do at burger joints. All-in-all, this seemed like an excellent place to go for lunch. The burgers were juicy and delicious, the choice and assortment of toppings were excellent, and we will definitely be back.

Incredible! After reading article about this restaurant we decided to give it a try for lunch. Did not disappoint! We were greeted and asked if we were new to Basement Burger Bar and yes we were. Our server expertly explained the Build Your Own Burger/or Salad idea of picking type of meat (yes they also have vegetarian options!), buns or lettuce and assorted many toppings. In the Yelp picture area is copy of their menus and pickings. Hubby ordered the Kobe beef on white bun with lots toppings including crispy onion strings. I ordered bison salad with romaine and great toppings and a fried egg. It was so good and huge! Then to to top it off today was buy a salad and get free one! So I just got another to go and came home and put in two mason jars for tomorrow. YUM! Specials different each day. Place was packed at noon. Service was very good and especially friendly even though this style of eating makes things a bit more complicated for them. It was loud in a good way. people seemed to know that a little wait meant a good meal. Plenty of sports on TV's. This place has an unusual theme and is small. Yes you will have a tasty meal and yes you need to just go planning to relax and wait for it. (But not too long- they are that good!)

Basement Burger Bar is a fairly small restaurant in a slightly run-down strip mall. The parking lot was a maze of potholes and cracks. Inside, a small line had already formed but tables turned very quickly so the wait was shorter than the quoted 20 mins. Daily specials are available Monday to Thursday and Happy Hour is 3-6 and then 10pm until close. Tall tables line up around the restaurant, with a bar residing towards the back. Seven large flat screens, all tuned to different sports channel, entertained and distracted. While Basement Burger Bar is not in a basement, it definitely serves burgers. That is the focus of the menu, and to a lesser extent, salads. Appetizers provide a departure from these main items. For new visitors, the server clearly explains how to build a burger (or salad), selecting from different patties, buns and toppings. Or, another option is to select from one of the burger choices featured on the menu. Frickles, pickles coated in Italian seasonings and then fried, were mouth-burningly hot. Served with ranch sauce, they were a nice start to the meal. Next up was the bacon cheeseburger which featured a mountain of onion straws, bacon, and cheddar cheese on an 8oz Kobe patty. I ordered it medium rare but it came out more medium. While it was still good, it just was not awesome. The sweetness from the onions and Thousand Island dressing formed a good balance with the savory bacon. The side of tater tots was lovely especially with Coney fixings, served on the side. Given the burger was so huge, half came home. Surprisingly, this other half was medium rare. Excellent! The staff, hostess, busboy and server, were friendly and helpful. On this particular week night, restaurant was starting to clear by around 8.

We decided to give this place a try while in town shopping at IKEA. The first thing we noticed walking in was their claim to have "the #1 burger in Michigan". A lofty claim for sure, but I am pleased to say they live up to it! We were able to get a table right away and were impressed by the wide variety of topping available. The menus are dry erase and come with a marker so you check the boxes yourself and give to the waitress for the kitchen to make; a smart system to minimize errors and make sure you get what you ordered. I went with the Kobe burger with jalepenos, chili mayo, spicy ketchup, onion lettuce and fries (as a topping) as well as a side of their beer battered fries. We also tried several of the craft beers they had on top. It was nice to see they had a beer menu. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Not a single complaint. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the toppings were crisp and fresh. Truly a perfect burger. We will most definitely stop here again next time we are shopping at IKEA. We are from Rochester and only wish there was a location closer!

It was our first visit and I was impressed with what they did to modify the space from its former use. Too bad the seTing is not a bit bigger but at the same time they probably need to remove at least two bar stools for the comfort of all patrons sitting there. In our group a salad was ordered and it was great. The other three orders were burgers. At this point I think the staff should take a cue from other name restaurants and ask if it's your first time in. If so then take the time to explain the ordering process so all orders are served correctly. The food was good my only suggestion would be to tighten up the waitstaff.

Burger joints really aren't my cup of tea, but I couldn't help my intrigue when I heard about they way they do things here. When you're sat you receive a menu, a laminated build-your-own burger/salad menu, and a dry-erase market. You can build your own burger or salad by checking off things on the laminated menu, which is pretty cool! In eating here I discovered that I'm not only terrible at designing my own burgers, but I'm also fairly restricted in what I can eat as a vegetarian. I've done the build your own thing a few times, but I'm not talented enough to make something super tasty so I find myself just using their burger ideas and removing things. My favorite thing about this place is their tater tots. They're not divine or even all that special, but tots are such a rarity in restaurants that I can't pass them up! Overall, my experience here has been okay. The service has consistently been fine. Food's fine. I love their hours. My partner enjoys their food. There's alcohol. Not bad at all.

Three and a half stars. Great place but my bun and burger were so big I could not bite it. Hamburger on the over seasoned, salty-side too. Concept is fun with check off what you want on erasable menu and make it your own. Had Kobe and Bison which is very cool.

Well let me see... We walked in & I first just saw lights, noise and TV's! The square footage must've been done by someone from "Tiny House Nation"!! It was teeny tiny inside, along with the fact that it was noisy, tiny and my seat was sticky with something of a jelly or jam? Once we fixed that, the waitress was very nice! She explained about the menus and how you can just pick from it or "build your own" burger! Prices are about average. My husband got a tropical burger with pineapple on it! He enjoyed it immensely! He ordered "medium"& that's exactly what he got! I ordered a traditional cheeseburger plain a "medium well"! It was delicious too! My only complaint was that I had to return my burger because it was not hot inside! Go figure? I finally got the attention of the waitress and she took it back & put it on the grill to re-heat the one 1/2 that I'd not bitten. I was kinda "lost" on the 1/2 with the bite out of it! Their French fries are "to die for" delicious!! Oh My Gosh, they're the best ever!! Lastly, I got the "cookie monster " for dessert and I enjoyed every single bite!! It was a warm cookie with chocolate chips and ice cream on top with hot caramel & chocolate sauce over the whole thing!!! My taste buds were in Heaven!!! Yummy... Wonderful food & service with just a few little glitches so they got 4 out of 5 stars!! Worth going again!!

I am updating my review! I am in love with the place. Ever since I found out about half off apps after 10 on trivia night! You get really good at figuring out what goes well and what doesn't. Honestly, if you don't like your food the chances are that you were the one to mess it up. Very similar to Bagger Dave's but BBB has more variety and better service.

I heard about this place from a old co worker, I could do for the life of me understand why he swore by this place! However, after eating here, I can see why! The menu is really cool, they give you a marker and you literally check off on a the things you want on your burger or salad. I felt like a kid, but in a good way! The ambiance is ok at the canton location, but the original spot in Farmington hills is in a actual basement from what I hear, now how awesome is that?! Not to get sidetracked, the food was really good! I'll definitely have to come here again to try different foods, my eyes were bigger than my appetite this time around! Try the turkey burger, it's huge! And the buffalo blue cheese tots made with franks red hot!

This is an excellent place to get your burger fix. On my visits, I've avoided long waits by sitting at the bar. The bartenders are friendly and willing to let you try samples of their various drafts. My husband loves their small but quality selection of craft beers on tap. The burgers? Oh my god, THE BURGERS. I've only tried the Kobe beef burger, but it was so good that I shall not even try the others because I'm in love. It's a fat burger, always cooked exactly how I asked (medium rare) and seasoned perfectly. And anyone who follows my reviews knows I love tater tots, and wouldn't you know it? BBB serves hot, crispy tots with your burger for a couple bucks more. I love this restaurant. It's my new place to go when I'm in the mood for a burger.

They try to be fancy which earns them kudos, but it's just an average burger joint. It won't leave you craving more but it's worth the stop.

Came here for Fathers Day to avoid the crowded mainstream restaurants. Wanted something low key with good food and this place did not disappoint. This place is small in size but huge on quantity and taste! You can choose your bum, spread, type of meat, cheese, toppings etc. i ordered the bison burger and this thing was one of the most tenderest pieces of meat I've had in a while. Had a garlic mayo spread, dried cranberries (tried based on a review), and other toppings. This burger was delicious. Also order fries loaded with chili, onions, etc. They say Detroit Chili and let me say this. Moving from the eastside of Detroit where some of the best chili/coney dogs came from East 7 mile to Taylor I have yet to find good chili. This brought back memories as these fries, chili and onions was BANGING!!!!! This has great burgers as well as stuff for the vegetarian in your life! You need to try this place! Great fiord, small nice atmosphere, worth the drive! :)

Good place for a beer and a burger exactly how you like it. I've been a couple times, once with a group and another time just Boyfriend and I. Fair warning: it was completely packed both times. With the group, we actually called ahead, still had to wait, and then sat half of us at a table and the other half at the bar. Boyfriend and I sat at the bar (I don't know why more people don't do this, it's awesome). With the group it was probably a Friday night, but with Boyfriend it was a Thursday at like 5 or something. Still insane in there. The food, drinks and service are good though. They give you a menu to write on and you choose all the details of your perfect burger: the kind of meat (or not), bun, condiments, toppings, and a delicious list of sides (get the tots. trust me). Impressive selection, decent beer list, and service has always been great. Basement Burger Bar is a great place to hang out, provided you find a place to sit!

Hubby and I love BBB! We used to travel to the Farmington Hills location and are happy they opened up one closer! As others mentioned, the place is small so expect a wait. But the service is quick, beer is fresh and food is great! Hubby and I always get a pair of burgers- there are so many different options to try but I stay true to my original burger! I get the 8 ounce beef with a variety of lettuces, cucumbers, jalapenos, and the smoked bbq... The burger is always cooked to perfection and a happy beer to help wash it down! Thanks, BBB, for opening up one close to us!

I have been here multiple times and keep forgetting to write a review. My friends and I like going in on Saturday night during trivia. The place is a little small which is great for playing bar games like that. The TVs are placed around the entire place, so there are some spots where you cant see them very well. The burgers are excellent. I also love their fries and always have nacho cheese on them. The beer selection is good and I appreciate that they seem to change often. If you are looking for good food, good beer, and a pretty nice atmosphere I highly recommend this place.

The food is normally good, but today they seemed in a rush and everything was sloppy. The fried pickles were burned and the mozzarella sticks were cold and lacking cheese. The waitress wasn't super friendly and forgot key parts of our order. We ordered the loaded tater tots. They brought out plain and when o brought it to the waitress attention she took the tots back to the kitchen where they slapped a chuck of sour cream and a big heap of white onions and bacon. The food and service were subpar. I won't be going back for very long time.

Very good burger. Liked the pick your own menu, pretty cool for the kids to be able to check off exactly what they want. I chose a pretzel bun($1 extra), burger, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, green olives and pickles. On build your own: cheese is 50 cents, 1 condiment is free (ketchup and mustard on table), 5 toppers are free (your basics, see what I picked above) and "special toppers" for various prices (think bacon, guac, onion straws, etc). Fries were super crispy and yummy. Sweet potato fries had a fantastic dipping sauce. Kind of a cinnamon, brown sugar, butter dip. Onion rings were big and crispy. Youngest had the chicken tenders and was pleased, but honestly if a restaurant screws up chicken tenders they may as well throw in the towel. Was pricey though. For 3 build your own burgers, sweet potato fries and onion rings, and a kids chicken tender meal, lunch with tip was $45.

You need to bookmark BBB, and then go get their delicious burgers asap! I am very very picky about my burgers. BBB does it just right. BBB let's you have the option of picking one of their own burger creations OR you can build your own. My dining partner and I chose to try a burger from the menu and to concoct one! We chose the stuffed blue cheese burger & built a American Kobe Beef (with a fried egg, grilled onions, swiss, onion straws, garlic mayo). The stuffed blue cheese & American Kobe burger were both cooked a perfect medium rare. THANK YOU BBB for getting it right! I really liked that they didn't over stuff the burger with blue cheese so that you can taste the flavor of the beef, which was delicious. My dining partner really enjoyed his American Kobe Beef burger. I had a few bites and if you like melt in your mouth beef, then this is the burger for you. I still prefer the regular ground beef to the Amer. Kobe one, just because I prefer that hearty texture. My only issue would be that the pretzel bun needed to be hallowed out so that the bread didn't consume the beef patty's taste. The waitstaff are also very good. Great at giving drink recommendations! I got the pear cider while I was here, and a huge glass only sets you back $5.50. I love great finds like BBB. Delicious burgers. Done the right way. I can't wait to return for another visit.

The burgers here are excellent. The problem is the unfriendly staff. I manage a restaurant and I know how important it is that the staff is polite. Being in the business I tend to be way to tolerable of bad service when eating out, if I find the staff unfriendly then they are. Great food that needs to be accompanied by great/friendly service. I will try it again

Lunch at soccer tournament. .. We had a large group of 20 people. Everyone seemed to enjoy their burgers and salads. However one person in our group got the turkey burger and it was completely obvious that it was a frozen patty. That was very disappointing for that person...my wife. That is why they got 4 stars instead of 5. Service was very good and they did fairly well accommodating our large group with no notice

We had a small blip here to begin the meal, it involved a miscommunication and after a very long wait I was not best pleased. No worries though, they have a lovely manager who solves all things quickly and in such a friendly fashion. Good management is a must in any business as I would have missed out on trying the wares here. As it was all I missed out on was trying a drink or beer as planned (I never drink when annoyed, no one should). It is a very small place but wait staff is super on the ball and service is speedy, you will not wait on refills or any nonsense. The food is delicious. I went to the other BBB in Farmington quite awhile back but I think this is better. Closer to me too which is win/win in my book. Beyond the wait- which you should definitely expect- and the small issue at the very beginning, this was pretty much a perfect experience. We started with a pretzel app. The pretzels here are crisped outside and perfect doughy inside. Really good flavor. Add nacho cheese if you like that sort of thing. I much preferred the cinnamon butter. Soooooo decadent. You get that salty sweet dough perfection. Yum. As a special note to my vegetarian/vegan leaning friends, they serve THREE options that are non meat. A grilled portabella mushroom cap, a black bean patty or a falafel patty. If you are aiming for health they also have create your own salads which look fantastic! They even have my fave, a burger salad. I can see eating a mushroom "burger" or feasting on a salad as the weather turns warmer myself. Good options! Burgers are tasty. I had to take half of mine home it was so filling. That pretzel app and pretzel bun serve to fill a girl up. I had an avocado burger, the guac and avocado were stellar and adding a bit of garlic mayo sent the combo into the stratosphere. The sweet potato fries were perfection with the cinnamon butter. It made a fat girl blissful. James liked his cheeeeze burger with three different cheeses on a white bun. I was jealous of his pickles, they are the perfectly thin and flat cut type (my fave). His tots were great, perfectly cooked so that the insides are soft and outsides nice and crunchy. He used more nacho cheese with his but the manager gave me a tip to try them with the cinnamon butter and they taste like waffles when you do. Definitely a winner idea that! We will be back. We will probably shoot for off hours next time though.

This BBB is not in a basement like the original one in Farmington, but the menu is the same and the food just as tasty! I've been to the Farmington location many times and always enjoy my customized BYO (build-your-own) burger. They really make it to your order and medium cooked is really medium! Some things I make sure I get every time on my burger is the fried egg and dried cranberries. I highly recommend trying those on your burger if you like those things by themselves and have not considered them on a burger before. Yum! The Canton location has about the same amount of seating as the Farmington location (meaning it's not a big restaurant) so expect a wait during Friday and Saturday nights. We went on a cold and snowy Wednesday and the place still was near full capacity.

Just opened today, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop in and have a burger. I've been to the location in Farmington several times and enjoyed it. First, I was greeted promptly at the door by two hostesses who asked if I'd like an immediate seat at the bar. YES, no wait! I threaded my way through the crowd (it was packed), took my seat, and was promptly greeted by Sam, one of the bartenders (stunning to say the least!). Sam walked me through the ordering process and left me to figure out what I would partake of. The crowd was as loud & festive as I would have expected! People were truly happy to have this place open. I know I'd been watching it for at least 4 months myself, just waiting on the day.. The bar had lots of great beers (the taps seemed to be devoted to Bells for the opening), and the bar staff was very friendly. I got to meet & have a conversation with the owners (they're brothers) and they too were very outgoing and personable. I ordered a simple 8 oz burger on a pretzel roll, with bacon, fried egg, and sharp cheddar, and a side of Tots. The food arrived in a very reasonable time considering how slammed they were getting, and I dove in! The Tots were done perfectly. I know that sounds easy, but it is not. I've had them served to me done on the outside and cold inside, mushy, over cooked, & deep fried and greasy. These were cooked to perfection a perfect golden brown with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and deliciously warm and "tottery" on the inside. Look out Napoleon Dynamite! The burger proportion to the bun and ingredients was perfect. it was cooked exactly as requested, medium. I actually prefer medium rare, but for my first time and for the sake of judging I usually go with medium. The beef had good flavor and was nice and juicy. The combination of the egg, bacon and sharp cheddar on the incredibly pretzel roll took the whole thing up several levels. This was a burger masterpiece. Next time I'll go a little more all out with some of the toppings and spreads. They have a VERY wide variety of both. Several of the toppings are free and there are premium ones that are reasonably priced. You can also opt for a white, wheat, or pretzel bun, and many different kinds of meat. Kobe will be my next adventure. They have food & drink specials, as well as a variety of specialty burgers.Check out their menu and see the variety of different offerings including a large salad selection (it's not JUST about the burgers). Stopping in here is definitely time & money well spent. I look forward to spending many an evening here, and watching the restaurant grow into a deeply rooted and beloved Canton institution. Now move over, and don't touch my Tots!

The most amazing tasting burgers with the most diverse combination of toppings you'll find in any gourmet burger place. They have an awesome selection of Michigan craft beers on tap, and the atmosphere is nice casual, but it is still trendy. You can't go wrong here if you're just getting and a burger after work, or if you're on a date. Cheers to awesome craft burgers!

Finally I was able to go here (the FH location has been in my bookmarks for agessss) and it was a hit. We came in on a weekday around 1:30, leaving behind the lunch rush. Sheesh I am glad about that because the place is definitely small. I absolutely love 'interactive menu's' - which is really just a wayy fancy way of saying that I find great pleasure in marking Xs in designated spots. Yes, I actually enjoy doing surveys also. I'm easily amused, what can I say! So anyways, build your own burger, put x ' s in the box to choose your bun, protein, sauces and toppings. El Hub went with a juicy, beefy cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion (pretty basic) and garlic mayo with beer battered fries as a side. Being a tot-fanatic I went with those, and a black bean, pepper jack, onion, pickle, avocado contraption. The beef burger on brioche was VERY good. The only problem we encountered was that the bun did not hold up under "all" the toppings, which were really basic as you can see. Brioche bun was definitely a bit flimsy. The black bean burger had pieces of beans, corn, bell peppers inside and had great seasoning to it. I loved it. No problems with the whole wheat bun, by the way. Loved the garlic mayo, though be forewarned: if you are brilliant like me and eat this in the middle of the day, you WILL ward off any vampires (and coworkers, and friends, and strangers) for the remainder of the day. That stuff was strong, man. Lastly, the tots are crispy on the outside and perfectly potatoey on the inside. Somehow however the fries beat them hands down. I'm craving those glorious, majestic, not-heavily-battered babies right now.

Unique, amazing food, good drink menu. Whatever you get...get it on a pretzel bun! And the Moscow Mule cocktail is top notch!

In a word, outstanding. Easily one of the most delicious burgers I have come in contact with. I highly recommend this fine establishment. I consumed the burger I ordered in under four minutes after carefully selecting the delicious assortment of toppings and burger add-ons. I enjoyed the sheer amount of items there were to choose from, especially the not-so-common ones like chipotle mayonnaise and BBQ ketchup. The french fries were almost as delicious as the juicy burger, I just wanted more after I ate the last one. Go get it folks! Head down to the basement now and get some grub.

We've driven past this place many times and we finally tried it today and we're pretty disappointed. The service was fast but the food wasn't the best. The mozzarella sticks tasted good and the fries and tater tots tasted like every other fries and tater tots. The dissatisfaction came with the burger it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It's a 2 inch thick patty and it was hard to eat and it lacked flavor. After a few bites you soon lose interest in the Burger and your done eating it. The restaurant is also very small, not fit for big groups. The tables are very small the brought out all the food very fast which is good but they didn't give us time to finish our appetizer to make some room on the table, we had to balance our 5 plates on a very small table

A long time friend and I decided to meet up for lunch today, and we wanted to try something in the area of Canton. I searched on yelp and found this place, and off we went. We arrived and were the first one's in there. They don't open until noon on Sunday so we were greeted and seated immediately. I had never been here before so I was unaware of how the ordering was done. Our waitress came over after we reviewed the menu and I ordered the burger with what toppings I wanted on it. What I didn't know was that I was supposed to fill out the menu itself with a marker! SHE DIDN'T TELL ME. It was my first time there. So, instead of giving me instructions, she kept us waiting there and came back like10 minutes later. Eventually, I got it right and let me tell you, this burgers amazing. The burger was amazing!! Holy goodness was it awesome. This place was totally worth the drive. I just went with the regular meat, but dang it, I was in love! My friend went with the macaroni bites, but I didn't try them. I was to engrossed with the burger! Overall I had a good time. Granted, the waitress could have explained their "different" ordering style, but she was good overall. Very pleasant service. Also, after we paid our tab the waitress never came back to check on if we wanted more drinks or not. Again, nothing tragic but she was a good server. I will be back and I loved this place!

We stopped on a whim and were nothing but pleased! Great made-to-order burgers, a variety of side choices, including some tempting tater tots and sweet potato fries, and the craft beer selection was top-notch. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!!

The seating area is very small, they do their best to maximize the space but if you get there after 9:30p on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to wait for a table or a seat at the bar. Our waitress was really good but unfortunately i cant remember her name. Food was good, menu has a nice variety and they have a nice selection of craft beers, I think the beer menu our waitress showed us had one beer from about ten different Michigan breweries. Overall, not a bad place but a lot of people walked in and left upon hearing it'd be a long wait. So get there early or if you get there and the wait is long check out bailey's down the street or soon the tilted kilt which will be on the SE corner of the intersection

Nice little place, but I don't think the name helps. The name sounds like a dive bar, but the inside is nice and welcoming. Service was great and our server was very helpful and friendly. Burgers had a build your own choice or order straight off the menu, plus salads and wraps. Plenty of choices to fit all flavor pallets. Sauces also had 10+ choices including home made selections. Now to the actual food, everything was served HOT. I don't mean warmed up bar food. I mean straight from the grill still smoking. I eat out a lot due to work and this was rare and welcome. Food was very flavorful and reasonably priced. I will visit again next time in the area!

Lots of yummy ways to build your own burger. It's tough to say what is tastier with your burger: fries, sweet potato fries, or tots. Good service. Haven't had much of a wait either time I have gone.

Based on all the reviews, I couldn't wait to come here! My husband and I both appreciate a good burger. As others have mentioned, the place is small. Which is unfortunate, given if it were a lot bigger, they could fill it up. It's that good. The size is the biggest downfall. The menu is substantial and offers various burgers, but you also have the option of "BYOB" where you can pick the type of meat, cheese, toppings and buns. The toppings vary, from the traditional (lettuce, tomato, pickle) to the little obscure (shredded carrots, cranberries). The menu also offers sandwiches, salads and a lot of appetizers. We both ordered their 6oz burger. I had mine with pepperjack cheese, lettuce and tomato on a pretzel bun, which was great. My husband had his on a regular bun with lettuce and mayo. We split a side of their tater tots, which were also excellent. We sat and the bar and the bartender was extremely nice. Food came quickly. Prices were reasonable. They have a pretty neat happy hour option... Appetizers are half off (from 3-6, I believe). Its worth a visit. Very happy we have this in Canton!

If you're in the mood for a burger, this is your place. If anyone in your group is not in the mood for a burger, this is not your place. This is a Build-your-own-buger type place, with every topping you can think of. There are a few apps, but otherwise the menu is quite limited. Also, everything you order us a la carte, so your bill goes up fast. Aside from that the quality of ingredients is very high. Great burger and you can choose from types and sizes (reg beef, Kobe beef, turkey burger, ect).

  • Sophia P.

Excellent burger. I had make your own - choose your meat, bun & sauce (1 incl); toppings (5 incl); and premium toppings (all extra) & cheeses (extra) and sides (all extra). A little pricey for Kobe med. well with garlic mayo & spring mix, tomato, pickle & black olives w/ sweet potato fries & cinnamon butter. Delicious except not a fan of the sweet cinnamon butter with sweet fries and pickle & olives. But if you wait and eat the dip and fries after its like dessert. LoL Mark had 1lb double cheeseburger - it was huge! Had it medium rare and it was perfect. Had their regular beer-battered fries. Very crispy. All around resto-pub atmosphere. Good service, quick & great food.

updating my review to five stars because of a recent visit. it was a busy Thursday night (trivia and $3 burgers and long islands), and there was a long wait. my boyfriend and i waited almost an hour before resorting to just sitting in the bar area. however, while we were waiting the owner asked us if he could get us a drink on the house. we both ordered long islands and they were excellent! when we sat, we got our food very quickly and it was delicious as well. i am giving this place five stars now because of the service. you cannot go to a lot of places nowadays where the owners actually care about their business. you can tell that the owners and the people who work here really care about their customers and that is what really counts!

Worth the trip. This is a new location, in Canton, off Ford Road. I like their set-up and approach to the menu and selection options. The location is in a strip mall, with limited parking and large pot holes, especially off the Ford Road entrance. And unfortunately, this place is too small. It was crowd on a late Friday night, with a good size waiting line. Its much more than a burger bar. It is a bar that servers burgers, but its much much more. Everything is a la carte, you basically build your own burger, or salad, from the bun type, to the meat or protein, to the regular topping to premium toppings. It is the ultimate, have it your way. The salads are the same, pick your lettuce type, protein, and toppings. This is a great place for carnivores and vegetarians. The server was fast and friendly. We started with the pretzel sticks, with dipping sauce, which are surprising light an dairy, despite the fact they are pretzel based rolls.

As a career server I have been known to be pretty critical about places when I eat out. That being said, I can also be very understanding and forgiving in most cases. Firstly, I agree with anither reviewer about the state of the parking lot which probably has nothing to do with the establishment itself but that alone almost made us go elsewhere. I like the intimate setting of the place I'm sure it fills up fast at night. The menu is fairly simple with the standard bar apps and some good looking others that you don't often see (mac and cheese bites). They have a great selection of yummy treats to add to any burger including a bunch of house made sauces. Our fried picked were awesome I liked the Italian breading on them, I've only ever had beer battered. My Kobe burger which I'd never tried before was delicious but maybe a little bland. It wasn't very warm though and definitely over cooked (I'd asked for medium rare). Alanna was our server and I'm sure she is a very nice girl. She explained everything well enough but thats where the good service stopped. I got a coke, drank it all before my food arrived never got a refill or even offered one, asked for my side salad with no onion it came loaded with them, wanted extra dressing but she never came back so I could ask until long after our burgers had been delivered by someone else, her hair was long and being worn down as opposed to up which is a requirement in restaurants, she also kept playing with it which grossed me out. And she never checked back in with us Over all I'd like to think this place has the ability to do better, they can definitely make sure the servers are adherent to simple health code standards. We probably won't be back, we just expected more from an outing that cost $40+ for burgers. Best of luck to all who go here, I hope you have a better experience than we received.

This business has got legs. Great concept, big portions. What makes this place great is the whole ordering process. You get to write your order on the menu with a marker, thus eliminating communication errors and the embarrassment of looking someone in the face after ordering 8 toppings. The kobe beef burger was juicy. The brioche bun was silky smooth. The tots were to die for, and the portions were massive. I was the biggest guy in our party of six and I was the only one who didn't finish my food (which is a testament to how good the food was for everyone) The waitress was kind of slow towards the end, but helpful and nice overall. Trivia Day Thursday is pretty fun. This place will be here to stay in Canton.

This place was a breath of fresh air for this area! The burger was great, atmosphere was correct for a Burger Joint! I tried the koby beef burger and it was worth every penny!! We will definitely be going back here more often!! The wait staff were also ver polite and the food came quickly:) Awesome place that you will for sure be leaving here full and happy!! Had my second burger tonight, another perfectly cooked burger Thanks!!

First of all, I have to say that this place is small. As in really small. So for the next few months expect it to be really over-crowded. I like the neighborhood bar feel. The food is great. What I really love is that there are so many choices. If you're a meat eater you can get beef, bison or kobe beef. If you're a vegetarian you can get black bean, portabello mushroom. There are so many toppings. The fries are beer battered and extra crispy, and the tots are really good too. For appetizers we had the deep fried mac and cheese ($4 apps for happy hour...bonus!) and the jalapeno poppers. Both were good, but the mac and cheese bites were my favorite. They also have salads, in case you're wondering if everything on the menu has a billion calories and fat grams. But I was in a burger and fries mood so that's what I got. Word of caution - the parking lot is TERRIBLE with big pot holes and not enough room. I hope the store owners pool their money and get it repaved, especially with all the traffic that BBB is bringing in!

The Canton Basement Burger Bar (BBB) just opened and when I read Kris's Yelp review we decided to try the Grand Opening Event. We arrived during Happy Hour and remembering the great Wings appetizers at the Farmington location we proceeded to order some appetizers on Happy Hour special. The Mac & Cheese bites were creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, perfect. The Nachos were pretty good with a good portion of chips and cheese with tomatoes, onions, jalapeno slices and black olives. The French Fries were served hot and delicious. We both ordered the three slider appetizer special, on a dinner type roll, and enjoyed them as much as our previous full size burgers. We washed them down with a couple of beers and a diet coke and really enjoyed our meal. One of the best parts of our visit was the Happy Hour Specials which brought our $38 total down to $16 after all discounts were applied. The greeter and the server were the friendliest employees I think we've ever met and even one of the owners went around and checked on your satisfaction. Everything was first rate. They had a little snafu on some of the beer selection, but it is a brand new bar and some things can be expected. The biggest problem I can see is the tiny parking lot and the amount eateries in the tiny strip mall. BBB of Canton is a very promising bar that I am rating 4 stars and I'll definitely be back...

I had a delicious experience here! We had a group of 6 on a Friday night and the only bad thing was the parking lot. (Small and snow packed.) The restaurant itself was fun and lively. The waitress and busboy were quick to serve and clean up. The beer selections were decent and my glass wasn't empty except for when I wanted it to be. Now on to the best part, the food... I ordered a medium rare Kobe Wagyu beef burger on a pretzel bun with house made garlic mayo, spring mix and onions. (What self-respecting burger fan would turn down a sake massaged, beer-fed disk of beefy deliciousness?! Anyway, they served me a perfectly cooked burger that needed no accessories including cheese. (Did I just say that?!!!!) the bun was tasty and soft yet held together well. They put on just enough garlic mayo to complement the meat and the veggies were nice and fresh. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries with the sweet dipping sauce. The fries were cooked just right and were good on their own. Of course I wouldn't dream of wasting the dip, which was good in its own right without being outrageously sweet. Despite the freezing cold winter, I enjoyed two ice cold beers as did my dinner mates. We had a great time and the waitress did a great job keeping us, and our tabs in order. May you have a great experience here too!

Got a burger and was excited for it. After a few bites noticed it didn't have the toppings I asked for. Instead of offering a new burger, our waitress handed me my toppings on a plate. When I asked for her not to charge me, she made a face and walked away to ask her manager and never came back to let me know the outcome of that conversation. Poor customer service is never made up no matter how good the food, which unfortunately was still quite good.

Came here because I was in the area and also I have read a lot about this place and wanted to try. Came here during their happy hour (4-6 everyday) where they had $2-$4 beers and $4 starters. For my starter I had their wings (not featured on their happy hour list) which are your typical coney island wings, but of course they were oh so good. For my meal i had a create your own kobe burger( It was freakin great, they offer five different types of burger here) with the brioche bun and garlic mayo among others which made it so right. For my sideI went with chili cheese fries, which was also on point and very awesome. Overall this place has great everything (mainly the burgers, which are top 10-15 in my opinion) and along with the great happy hour and the daily specials, this is a place that will be visited many times throughout the future.

Ordered their avocado burger with kobe and the brioche bun. Absolutely delicious and flavorful, and the portion is huge!! I made it my mission to finish it in one sitting, and I didn't have to eat dinner that evening either.. that's how full I was. Their sweet potato fries are also to die for - I've been eating terrible fries (without realizing it) until I came here. Nice and crispy - NOT soggy like so many other restaurants serve them as, and the cinnamon butter is a great compliment to them as well. Definitely coming back for more!!!

I honestly don't get the raving reviews of this place. I mean the burgers are just OK. You won't spit it out, but just average. The service was s-l-o-w, and the place was nearly empty. Everything you get added to the burger is extra, had to wait to get the pickles and onion I requested, a bottle of Labatt's is $4?..really?...REALLY. So I had a water and an average burger that took too long to get. I'm not impressed at all. I've eaten in the Farmington store as well (which is actually in basement), and it was the same not-so-spectacular experience. I mean, if you insist on trying it, it's edible but 5 star? Not from me. Maybe they just don't serve good burgers anywhere in Canton and this is the best they can get there. Too bad. I won't be back.

Was here on a Friday after 10pm for happy hour prices. Tap prices at $3 and appetizers at$4. I have been here a number of times and have always enjoyed the food. I like being able to customize my burger. They give you a menu and an erasable marker and lots of selections from choice of meat, bun, multiple toppings. Plus they have a decent selection of craft beers, on tap and bottled. The service is always excellent. Other than being a little noisy for quality conversation it is a nice place to go.

This place is beyond amazing! My family and I ordered carry out. We fell in love with the mushroom burger the first time there so we ordered it again but added bacon to it. The burger was huge and cooked to perfection (nice and juicy), plenty of portobello mushrooms packed into it and the pesto sauce gave it a great flavor. I highly recommend this burger. We also ordered beer battered fries- so addicting and plenty of them! Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Staff was great. The parking situation is a mess but that would never stop me from going to eat there or ordering carry out. We will be back again!

The burgers are excellent and I have never had better French fries ever. First time we tried it and we ordered it to go. Usually food isn't as good carry out as it is dine in, I can't imagine it being any better The inside looks nice but maybe a little cramped. The only thing I think they need to improve on is the attitude of the staff. Being a GM for a very busy bar myself I know good / friendly service when I see it and they are lacking in this department

Why oh why can no one make a decent burger? Went to BBB tonight, 1st time being at either location. I appreciate they tried to give the Canton location a basement feel and look. Maybe it'd be easier to make a list: Pro's: Served quickly. Music at a decent level. Fresh ingredients. Con's: Price for a burger. Taste of the burger. So I'm down with being able to choose between bison, kobe, beef, turkey, etc. Totally awesome. But after perusing the make your own burger menu, my burger probably would have came to $15-$18 will the things I would have wanted to add to it. So I ended up with a Bison Tropical Burger on a wheat bun. Eh. Not greasy like Five Guys, but not flavorful. The bison was not seasoned, and the taste of the pineapple didn't even shine though! Seriously couldn't taste it was there! Shared a basket of sweet potato fries with my friend. They were decent. Almost wanted them to come with the butter on them, they looked and were a little dry. I'd rather drive to Ypsi and get one of the delicious burgers with the yummy sweet potato fries at SIdetracks for half the price. Save your $$$ people.

The first time I came here was for their trivia night (they had a Simpson's specific night, to which my team won) that night I didn't order any food, just a vodka sprite, which was really good, well mixed, not too strong, but not watered down. Next time I came here was a date night with my fiancé, we wanted to go somewhere new, and decided on here, we both ordered the "Basement Junk Burger" mine with tater tots, and she got fries, so we could try both, the burger was a half pound burger with; fried pickles, bacon, BBQ sauce, a mozzarella stick, fried onions, an onion ring, and regular burger things. Basically it had one of every one of their appetizers thrown on it. It was amazing, almost too much to handle, but it was well worth overeating and being too full. My only issue was the waitress that we had wasn't that competent. She mixed up the two burgers, I ordered mine with no mayo, extra BBQ sauce, my fiancé's was normal, but the normal one came with my tots, and my special one came with her fries, a small issues, but there was only two of us. She regularly ignored us, even though it wasn't that busy, wasn't very attentive towards us, even though we were seated 3 ft from the bar. She also rang out out our order and forgot to include the happy hour price for our drinks and charged my card twice, she did void out the first one but it took 36 hours for the funds to come back to my card. Other than her service this is a 5 star bar, but it won't let me do 4 1/2 I love this place and it's more than worth the 20 min drive for me to go here and get a great burger..

One of the best things about eating is getting to do it several times a day. And every once in a while I have a dining experience so wonderful I find myself smiling in remembrance of it days later. My husband recently broke his leg, and as a result we have not been able to enjoy dining out as frequently as we normally do. Now that his cast is off, so were we--to the Basement Burger bar in Canton. First things first. BBB is located in a strip mall on Ford Road. The parking lot is large, and in direct contrast to the size of the dining room, but don't let that stop you. The perimeter of the dining area is lined with tall booths and the center has several smaller tables of normal height tucked into it. There is a fully stocked bar underneath three big televisions. Four or so more televisions are placed strategically around the rest of the room for your viewing convenience. We arrived around 2 pm on a Sunday, and there was no wait. None. We were seated at a tall booth (which I love). After eyeing the menu for a few moments, I ended up choosing from the build-your-own burger menu. Kobe burger, no bun (stupid diabetes), spring greens, blue cheese, cheddar cheese, pickles, tomatoes and black olives. I chose red pepper mayo to go with it and a side salad instead of the more tempting fries or tater tots. The other side of the table chose the bison, a lovely white bun (and on a side note, thank you Basement Burger Bar for not making the bun six feet high! ), cheddar cheese and fries. I already knew my choice would be better than his, but sometimes one must keep such details to oneself in order to maintain a harmonious household. When they came out a reasonable few minutes later, I was amazed. The presentation was attractive and thoughtful, and the side salad I assumed would be just so very basic was fresh, crisp and delicious--and large! My first bite of the burger left me in utter silence for a long moment while I savored something so out of the ordinary, it almost didn't register as a burger in my mind. The texture was firm, yet yielding to the bite. The flavor was definitely beef, but not the kind we have all grown overly used to. This was a grown-up burger, something to be slowly savored. The layers of delightfully fresh complexity lit me up like a tiki torch. The other side of the table had a similar experience with his burger, judging from the rapturous expression on his face while he ate it. The fries (as I am told) were just-from-the-fryer hot and wonderfully flavorful and crisp. We were so lost in the food we fell silent. That is unusual for us. We enjoyed every savory bite of our meal. Unfortunately, we had zero room for dessert. But that's okay, because it gives us a reason to come back.

This is a tiny tiny location. There is more room behind the bar than anywhere else in the restaurant. That being said, the burgers were delicious and cooked the way I asked. I liked the pretzel bun but didn't really hold up well and all I had was a 6 oz patty. Toppings were fresh and the sweet potato fries were crispy. Stay away at busy times as you'll wait forever just to get seated in a corner that your waitress and you will have to squeeze to get to. But try it out nonetheless.

Cali transplant and newly Michigander here, just wanted to say that this place is pretty legit. Reminds me of Fuddruckers with an Umami Burger/Father Office kind of setting, if you know what I mean. This location seems less like a "basement" compared to the Farmington Hills location, which truly makes you feel hip and cool. Just like the other chain, this joint has a bar area, good variety of TVs to watch sports, and small tables to fit 2-4 ppl. I went here on a Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all. As for the foods, it's concept is based on constructing your own burger via a checklist grid. You choose your meat, beef, bison, kobe (which is fake wagyu cuz Japan only has this), and turkey. And it's cute that they have a vegetarian option at a burger joint. Then comes the selection of sauces and toppings, which is the determining factor whether you want to go BIG or GO HOME. Your meal can easily be $10 or $20 depending on how many things you want to add. Once you've been to many build-your-burger joints, you'll realize what toppings you'll truly taste and others you're just adding it for decoration. The other thing to try are the sweet fries in cinnamon sauce. I didn't have diarrhea, so I guess it sat well in my stomach. My meal was about $15, and it was heavy enough to satisfy two meals for the day. I guess it was a good investment. I guess I'll be coming back again. Definitely more of a gourmet burger than fast food like Five Guys.

Basement burger bar is the bomb! I always walk in and am greeted, the staff is extremely friendly and ready to help you find your burger! I ordered a buyer with bacon, and some fries and they were both fantastic. The fries were fresh made to order, so when they made it to me they were steaming hot and I loved every moment. The burger came on a grilled bun that was fresh and crispy. The meat was a quality beef that was juicy even when cooked to the higher temperatures. I have been back many times since the first and will continue to return as long as the meals keeps turning out the way that they always do. Not to mention how clean the location is. And for the price, basement burger bar is your best choice for burgers in the Canton, and Plymouth area.

Went this weekend with my wife, she tried the Kobe burger, I tried the bison, we ordered pretty much the same stuff on both, not too much though cause we wanted to really taste the quality of the burger itself. We were very happy, cooked exactly how we asked, and the fries / tater tots were also perfect. We also ordered nachos for a starter and we were thinking it would be a small portion, we were very wrong, this is easily something that could be a main course for a couple of people to share. Overall great food, and the service was very friendly and helpful.

I ordered a side salad with my burger and the waitress forgot to ask what dressing I wanted. Before I could tell her she brought over my salad and said "Is Ranch ok? I didn't know what you wanted so I just guessed." I'm lactose intolerant so I asked for Italian instead...and then noticed the salad had cheese all over it which I didn't know -_- . Also had a dirty glass of water. Just wish they had better customer service.

Had heard great things, but was really disappointed. The hostess seemed really put out when we asked not to be put at a table by the kitchen. Ok. If I want huffing and eye rolling, I'll talk to my teenagers. Ordered the blue cheese burger, medium. "You realize that will be pink, right?" "Um, yes? That's how I like it." Except it arrived gray all the way through. Ugh. It took so long to get the initial order I didn't feel like sending it back. So, for a burger, fries, pop and tip-$19. Not likely to do that again.

It appears that I am in a small class who thinks this place is kind of mediocre. The first time I went (I've been here twice), we ordered the pretzel appetizer. I think this was maybe my favorite part of either meal and the best soft pretzel I've ever had anywhere as they deep fry it and serve it with this incredible cinnamon butter. The burger process is build your own, which gives me great choice anxiety but I powered through, ordering a variation on their beef burger both times. The 'do-it-yourself' menu has temperature options and I chose medium both times. Both times, the temp was wrong. Also, the beef is...odd. Most burgers are at least a little toothsome but the texture was oddly mushy. I am wondering if it's more like a meatloaf mix as opposed to just a plain burger. It's confusing. Everything else (toppings, sides) was okay. Nothing special. The second time I went, they managed to mess up our order. With a waitress ticket, maybe the kitchen misread the handwriting or the waitress wrote down something wrong. But it's a DIY pre-printed menu with clearly marked choices. That signals some epic lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. The appetizers were fine and if I was out for a night of drinking and snacking, I would consider this place. However, I won't be back for dinner.

Sorry, Sidetrack like there burgers better. Their Burgers are delicious. Build a burgers and premium burgers. Beef, Bison, & Turkey. I tried the beef 9 oz for the first time, med well. Excellent. About $10 with the extra fixings. I'll be back.

Came here for an early dinner. Very good food with decent portions. We had two drinks from the bar two bison burgers and an app and our bill was 48. Drinks here will run u 7.50. Other than that this is a great place to grab a laid back bite to eat.

This bar is now affectionately known as "my bar" amongst me and my friends because I love it so much. The burgers are incredible, and with all the health options possible available at no extra cost, it makes this place a winner for someone who eats clean. Get the pesto sauce! It's incredible!

This place has the best burger I've ever had! Came here on Sunday, shared a burger with my husband ab nd had to come back Friday for another! I very rarely eat burgers or as they are never that good. Only have them at home as my husband is a grill msster. But WOW great burger here!!!!!!! Great draft beer too, nice clean fresh taps! Now if only they would open a location in South Lyon!

One word: AMAZING! Went here for the first time today and got a bacon cheeseburger, tots for me and fries for my husband. I didn't know what to expect but I was referred her by some coworkers. I was stunned by the sheer size of the burger. It came topped with lettuce, tomato, fried onions and thousand Island dressing. So good. The fries were perfectly deep-fried and the tots were delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great burger!

Awful. Completely awful. Five Guys and Moo Cluck Moo are both a stones throw away. If you have to have a beer with your burger, get a 40 and a Big Mac, sit in the parking lot , and you'll have a better experience.

The hamburgers here are definitely one of a kind. Great tasting meat and good quality. The sweet potatoe fries are the best too. Make sure you come hungry the hamburgers are filling.

Went today for dinner bad service. I felt like it was a bunch of high school girls that dropped out of school serving me. Whole order was served wrong even though she wrote it down. Stay away service needs major attention as well as management the manager said "oh well".

I usually get a burger 3-4 times a month across the street @ 5 guys but I wanted to check this place out because I am a burger fanatic. I was very excited when all the options available ( huge fan of egg on a burger) (btw there is noway a kobe patty can be only 9$ so it must be imitation or something else so i didnt bother ordering), the menu reminded me of the best burger spot in the world @ the Counter in LA. The burger patty itself was on par with 5 guys, however I specifically asked for the egg over easy and to make sure " the egg was runny". Of course the yolk was dried and it was awful. This is a huge peeve of mine and lots of places here in Michigan F it up. The pretzel bun tasted stale and beer battered fries were just okay( not as good as the 5 guys cajun fries. I think i will save the extra 3-4 extra dollars and longer wait and stick to 5 guys. I will say they have lots of great drink specials and great happy hour deals but thats not what I am looking for.

One of the best burger bars I've been to in a long time! I usually get kobe on a pretzel bun and it is always cooked to order (I prefer it a bit on the rare side...not mooing but, slightly browned on both sides)..mmmm...delish! I love, love, love pretzel buns because they are awesome and am soooo happy that they offer them here! Very good sweet potato fries!! I really like the theme nights which offer fun times with potentials for future discounts (music trivia that you can win gift cards and such). It does get busy but, we have yet to wait for any amount of time to get seated. The staff is pretty good and knowledgeable of the items for the most part...you are liable to get that one waitress that is a bit ditsy though.. ;). Great beer selection as well! This is definitely becoming one of my 'go to' places!

A little greasy, but very good burgers! Although it can get pricey when you choose to build your own burger, it's well worth it.

The basement burger bar is the spot. The staff is very cool and welcoming. They are also trained in craft beer and can help you pick one of their many craft beers if you need the help. Sometimes I go for just drinks. Now for the food. These burgers are great and you can select from various meats. You pick the toppings.

The burgers aren't that great. It's a nice sports bar with good draft selections and TVs. The chili cheese fries were good, the chili was awesome the cheesed not so much. They use the squeeze or nacho and cheese "cheese" which has a weird taste with chili cheese fries. Staff is good and helpful.

Total disappointment. While the place was cozy and cool, my burger was lousy. When I got it, it drained a Dixie cup worth of yuck juice (ordered it medium well) all over my tater tots. Totally gross.

Overrated!! Overpriced!!! Bland burgers!!!!!! Went for dinner and was told they were out of three beers on tap with no backup kegs available!! Very disappointed will never recommend or return!!!!

  • Nanette K.

I liked the food, but I think I need to order less toppings next time. The Kobe burger was good but a little too much for me. I think less might be more here. The service was good. Kind of tight atmosphere, but it is a bar. I'd come back for sure, but would get a toned down version of toppings. Oh, the sweet potato fries are phenomenal!

Advertise 50% starters after 10 PM. When we went to order a few, the waitress gave us a list that pretty much covered the entire list of starters that were not eligible for the promotion. Very frustrating!

Went with my teenage son for first time. Good atmosphere, craft beer on tap, and burgers. Fresh toppings (I had grilled onions). I'd definitively go back and explore the burger options more.

This burger joint gives you so many options, their menu is setup a la carte style. I chose the Bison Burger, Avacado, on a pretzel bun... It was amazing! It was cooked to perfection; it was juicy and it had great flavor. Very friendly staff, and an overall great ambiance. They also have a good selection of Micro Brews, I discovered a new IPA that I love called Hoppulent by Epic brewery. I will definitely come back here if I'm ever near Canton.

I went here on a Saturday night to give them a try and was pretty pleased. There was plenty of people here but we got sat almost immediately as there was only two of us and everyone else was in a larger group. We ordered the soft pretzels as an app as well as a beef burger (mine) and a bison burger (my buddy). The pretzels were good, piping hot and were complimented well by both the cheese dip and the cinnamon sugar dip. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside, they were very good. On to the burgers, mine was cooked exactly the way I wanted it (medium) and with all the fixins was a really good burger. My buddy on the other hand, ordered his bison burger medium rare and it was cooked medium well. It was too dry as bison is very lean. He told the waitress about it and showed her. She completely agreed and asked if he wanted it replaced. He said no since he'd already eaten a third of it but she still gave him a card for a free burger next time. This was very thoughtful and while this cooking misstep could have cost them stars, the action of the waitress (Megan) restored any potential loss that may have occurred as a result. While a bit on the loud side, the atmosphere was fun and lively. I'll be back to try a different combo of burger!

Went on a Monday for 1/2 price drafts and appetizers. Their drafts were not working and no mention of substituting bottled beer at 1/2 price. Ordered sliders and a couple of other appetizers and they were all pretty average and not quite hot. So uninterested waitress, full price beer on 1/2 price beer night and slightly cold food. That pretty much sums up my first trip here.

Had a group of six on a Sunday night. Had to wait a bit but well worth it. This place is small as in real small. The food was fantastic! The kobe beef burger was mouthwatering. We will be back. Did I mention that the beer was Cold!!

As good as it gets as far as burger selection goes. Pretty sizable beer selection, full bar, attentive wait staff. Burgers are fantastic, choices include bison, beef, Kobe, turkey, veggie, and chicken breast. Yumm

I had a disappointing first visit to the Basement Burger Bar. Upon entering I was surprised with how loud the TV was playing. 2013 Masters highlights at an uncomfortable volume. Weird. The hostess was very nice as was our waitress. I ordered a Kobe burger Medium Rare with various toppings, and the burger showed up very well done with a stale bottom bun. The tots were good as was my beverage. I'll probably give them another go in a few months.

When we go we try to sit at the bar, they have this bartender named Zack. He can make the best sangrias or any other drink that you would like. Its nice to go some place where the servers actually care about what they are serving their customers and the food is excellent as well the burger with the garlic mayo and pretzel bun is to die for. But we wanted to thank Zach for taking care of us each time we go.

Second attempt to love this place. Fail. Three of our medium burgers were well done. At $11-12 a burger and extra for fries, they've got to do better than this. It is really loud in here, so come in the mood to talk up.

O.K. so this review is strictly on the Bar service. My Friend and I heard that The Basement Burger bar makes their Bloody Marys- using Mcclures mix (which is MY favorite). My girlfriend had not tried it yet- so we started our night out here because we were craving them. We got a seat at the bar, and the Bartender informed us, they were out of the mix. After we stomped our feet and acted all of about 11 years old- we then asked if he could make us one with just tomato juice, he said he didn't have anything. We again acted like children that were told there was no Santa Clause......He actually went to hos manager and asked if he could run next door to buy some stuff to make us our beloved "Marys"....O.K. so I cannot tell you what he put in them--but there were the BEST Bloody Marys weve ever had--and let me tell you- we've had a lot of different ones. We proudly consider ourselves Bloody Mary connoisseurs!!! His Name was Zach & he was so Awesome !! We got his schedule and we definitely going to go up and see him again !!! If you love Marys- go see Zach

I, like so many others, have been to many restaurants and I have also been to many 'newly opened' restaurants. This place has done it right when it comes to openings. My general rule is not to attend a restaurant for at least one month for them to iron out the kinks, but at the suggestion of a friend, I came to the grand opening and was very pleasantly surprised. I, like Kris above, have been at the bar and served by Sammi on a few occasions already. She's the best, the perfect mix of funny, sarcastic and courteous. They have chosen the right staff all around as the service is always attentive but never overbearing, the atmosphere is always friendly, and the food is always tasty. I have had many of their great beers (it's rare that I find beers I haven't tried before, and BBB has several) and enjoyed appetizers, burgers and salads. Everything is top-notch, always cooked to perfection with wonderful flavor. Top recommends are the pretzel sticks (amazing...but fair warning, they are addictive), the bison and Kobe patties, and the tater tots with Detroit chili. Their salads are also great, and I've heard from others while at the bar that the vegetarian options are very good...although I have yet to try them. Overall, great food, great staff, and a fun atmosphere to go for a lunch or dinner outing.

Went there last night. Wasn't overly impressed with the burger. Place is very small and the single bathrooms is a definite let down. Had to wait in line to wash my hands. Should have made bigger bathrooms, but I guess they only had so much space to work with. Also parking is difficult in the strip center they are in.

Sub-compact for what is is, but hey, it used to be a dry cleaner store. Our table seating was north & south. Party seated after us but next faced E & W. So cramped the hood of the lady's coat laid flat on our table as she took it off and she tried to keep it to herself. We scooted our table over as far as we could and we're OK, but close is very close. Parking is no different. Feel sorry for the other stores as quick stops & take outs will be too annoying to bother with. As for the food I agree with the previous positive reviews. I had the Kobe burger & it was very good. Going in I was thinking grinding-up Kobe is a waste of a good piece of meat, but it was only $9, so I gave it a try. I just wonder if it is really Kobe LIKE/TYPE vs actual Kobe? I doubt they could import the stuff from Japan for that price. I've had Kobe in Japan and it is very expensive. We will be back again to sample more.
