Wow. Must try this small authentic Italian restaurant if anywhere close to blissfield Michigan. It exceeded our expectations in all areas. Atmosphere was quaint and clean Menu has a very good variety and great options Top quality pasta dishes to fresh meat options to a tasty pizza delivery The portions are large and you won't go away hungry but the price is very low. Great family dining to romantic date. They have something for everyone
Top notch place run by a woman who keeps it running smoothly. The pasta and pizza were stellar.
Lena's special pizza is a great traditional style pizza. plenty of cheese, not too much crust. just right. I'm a huge fan of their Chicken Wings, their BBQ sauce is addictive. Friendly folks, a small location, very cozy.

I'm going to run out of ways to say homemade and fresh and natural and... Awesome! How's that for another way?
I'm not a fan of southern food, but as southern food goes, this was great. The sweet bread was awesome.
Oh, this place is painfully charming. Hokey but delicious, the breakfast is better than you'd expect with homemade biscuits and a surprisingly delicious corned beef hash. Worth a visit if you're in Lenawee county.

Tonight was our first night stopping in at The Main Street Stable and we are happy we stopped! We walked in...were greeted by an echo of hello's! (always a bonus)...we were able to pick a table (an even bigger bonus) and the were immediately brought menus and had our drink order taken. My husband picked the fish and chips (which he was said was delicious, not fishy and not greasy)...he was a happy camper. I had the Chef salad and it was delicious.....they seem to have a great wine list and many beers on tap (we did not indulge) but we will be back....the ambiance is amazing and we were pretty damn stoked to see a Michigan Tech pennant on the wall...especially since my husband is a Tech alum! All in all, a great experience :)
Ride 'em cowboy! Ambience 5: It's a really cool idea for a bar/restaurant. It looks and feels like you are walking into an old stable. They also had pendants of assorted colleges all over the wall. It's a great concept. I enjoyed looking and talking about all the colleges with my coworkers. Food/Drinks 4: I chose to get the american classic, the hamburger. For me, I find that to be the easiest and most accurate food to judge a bar on. They have a choose your own toppings menu. I got the works, like always. It was a good burger, not great. I'm a bit of a burger snob so I have pretty high standards. I was at a work lunch so I couldn't drink but they had a pretty good craft beer menu. Service 4: We had mostly good service. Everything was pretty standard until the end. It took at least 15 minutes for her to run our cards for the bill. We had a meeting, so we were in a slight rush at that point. Overall 4: The ambience is great and I liked Blissfields little downtown. If you are ever out that way, which I doubt, you should definitely stop in and enjoy. I would even drive a little out of the way for it.
Good meal! Was in Adrian for business and got recommended to visit Main Street Stable. Went in on a Thursday night around 7:30pm. Place was empty. There was only one table that I saw. Grabbed a seat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and attentive throughout. Food was really good! Started with the Jalapeno and cheddar spread. The pita bread came out extremely warm! The spread was delicious. The serving was huge! I only ate about 1/4 of it. Had the pork chop with a peach chipotle gaze with a baked potato and green bean. Everything was cooked really well and tasted fabulous. The only con was the presentation of the main meal. Butter packets for the baked potato just seemed out of place on such a well put together meal. Bartender recommended the blueberry pie and she didn't let me down. Home made and stuff with tons of blueberries. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again next time I'm in Adrian.

Q: What do you get when Macedonians living in Sylvania open a Greek Coney Island in mostly German Blissfield? A: You get this place, and its pretty good! The hot dog sauce/chili is of the "creamy" variety that's typically found on the classic Detroit Coney, AND, the rendition here at BCI is excellent. The cheese was fresh and copious, and the onion/mustard combo was perfect. The dog itself had a casing, which is cool with some people. Greek food: Limited selection. The spinach pie reminded me very much of my grandmother's spanakopita. Of course, by the time Grandma finally got to America, she was as blind as a bat, and could no longer cook worth a damn. There were many other hearty sounding classic American "diner specials" on the menu as well. Pork chops, veal cutlets, fried chicken, country fried steak, meatloaf, etc, were all present. One of the daily specials was creamed chicken over biscuits. YUM! I'm not sure if this is where I'd come for my chicken stir-fry, however. Just kidding about the spinach pie, BTW, it was actually pretty good. If you happen to find yourself in Blissfield Michigan during the morning or day (on your way to the lakes, maybe?), Blissfield Coney Island is definitely worth a stop.

A good little roadside ice cream stand. Locals like to sit under the tent and watch traffic roll through town. It's a good way to spend a hot summer night. Get a chili dog to compliment your turtle sundae, and call it dinner. Even better, take your ice cream to the adjacent park and play on the playground, or walk the footbridge over the River Raisin. Quaint, small-town life at its best. No indoor seating, and have to use the porta-pot in back if you have to go.

Hathaway House

I was torn between three and four stars. I've been coming here every few years for a long time. You cannot beat the charming setting and the history of this place. The dining rooms are quaint and lovely. The service is very good. The liver pate and cheese spread brought out with the bread basket is very nice. A few drawbacks. The prices are high for what you get. Steaks, which were done perfectly, were accompanied by three tiny fingerling potatoes and two small pieces of over cooked broccolini. The butter brought out with the bread was cold and rock hard. How difficult would it be to serve softened butter? The wine pours are skimpy. If I'm paying nine dollars for a glass of wine, receiving about three ounces is not right.
Hathaway House is a lovely, charming, Victorian home in a beautiful country setting. Generally speaking, across the board, appetizers and entrees bespeak quality ingredients and imagination. However, depending on who is bar tending, the mixed drinks can be insultingly small and watery. Overall a great place to dine.
This is a great historical gem that is perfect for any occasion. The Hathaway House carefully prepares elegant dishes using fresh and seasonal ingredients. I would recommend dining here for a quiet dinner or special event. The bonus to dining here is the fact that one can enjoy the beautiful 19th century building. Furthermore, the staff is friendly and accommodating. For a less fancy setting, The Main Street Stables is another establishment owned by the same family and located directly behind the large house. They too offer delicious meals which are far from basic and bland. Also, the grounds are beautifully landscaped in the warmer months.

Dinner Train-the Old Road

It's all about the experience. This dinner train can be pricey but it's still fun. The waitresses can be very hit or miss - I've had wonderful waitresses and terrible ones. The stories can be a little weird and the actors can sometimes trail off but for the most part, they're very endearing and fun. They'll play along with you as much as you play along with them. Some things that are helpful to know: - Stay away from mixed drinks - they're very expensive and will sneak up on you! - Go to the bathroom before - the bathroom is pretty small and it's awkward getting up in the middle of the show. - The trains are very old so not always the best at heating/cooling. Dress your legs for warmth if it's cold out. - Eat a small meal before hand if you do dinner. They don't get to the main meal until almost 8pm. - It's a good deal to buy the whole bottle of wine as opposed to the glasses. - Get there early - Personally, I like being the first to get seated because the seats can be a little crowded and it's nice to nest in and not have to move again. - The waitresses have to pool tips. This part sucks because like I said, some suck. So I often tip small and then give our waitress cash directly. I know you're not supposed to, but we yell at her to keep it. Overall, it's a fun experience once in a while. We go every once a year and I still look forward to it.
A unique experience. We had a great evening aboard this dinner train. We arrived a little early and enjoyed some drinks prior to departure. This gave us time to get to know the other couple seated at our table. The waitress was quick to get us drinks, and she was very friendly and spirited. Every staff member on this train was friendly and engaged, you can tell they love what they do. Once the train departed, we started our 7 - 8 mph journey to Adrian and back. There are some nice views of downtown Blissfield right after departure, but the scenery quickly changes to rural farms, and with it being dark this time of year there wasn't much to see. The show itself was entertaining and the actors were talented and engaged. The only reason I almost gave this four, instead of five stars, was the show lacked a little polish. A little more rehearsing by the crew, and a bit more depth to the mystery and you have a fantastic show. They are very close. Everyone had a blast and the crew was applauded on their exit. Bravo. That being said, the show is really made by the audience participation. Make sure you come with a fun group, we had one that made it memorable. The food was delicious. I had prime rib and she had salmon, finished off with some fantastic cheesecake. Excellent wine, moderately priced. Overall, a fantastic, unique experience that I'd highly recommend. Come with a fun, light-hearted group and you're sure to have a blast.
I'd skip this if I were you. We were looking forward to was what thought to be a quaint Christmassy evening. The food is mediocre. They can't cook it there, so it must be kept warm and then served. The prime rib didn't survive this. A train that travels at 7 miles an hour (as they explained) is not a train ride. You could walk about that fast. Worst of all is the entertainment. It really seemed as if they improvised most of it, and not well. There was a guitar player comedian who was the best part of it all, but not good enough to make up for the rest of it. And for all of this, we paid 70 dollars a person (drinks not included). If you go, you'll feel cheated at the end of the night. Maybe others had a different experience, but my review is totally honest.

Small town bar with a range of (expensive!) shots, a bit of craft beer, and as much Blake Shelton as you can possibly handle. The salted carmel shot is surprisingly tasty and strong.
