Great place, great service and food is done by two culinary school top of their class grads. Wonderful experience, worth the short drive in!
Fresh and delicious food. Generous portions. We went at 545 pm on a Saturday evening. Seated without a reservation, but calling ahead is recommeded for busy times. My dad had the pork chop. Served with fresh vegetables and delicuous mashed potatoes. My mom had the ahai tuna special. I had a rich pasta dish with mushrooms and pork belly. Shared the turtle brownie for dessert. I also loved the blackberry hard coder they had on tap. We highly recommend eating here.
We found this recently opened little gem two weeks ago and have already eaten there three times. Twice for lunch and once for dinner. The family owned and culinary schooled daughter/chef appear to prepare everything on site, including cutting their own beef. The beef stock used in their soups is exquisite and I honestly could recommend everything we've eaten there. We are delighted to have such a find nearby. Selfishly, I hope it remains our little secret. ;) * The "grand opening" has yet to be scheduled in order to adequately train the wait staff. I assure you the kitchen is more than ready. Bon Appetite!

You have to try this place. Huge menu and daily specials like ayce fish on Fridays for 9.99! If your in the area you must stop in.
Great surprise. Had low expectations, but food was really good and server was nice. It's a redneck bar, but you know that before you walk in.
Great service. Good food. All you can eat fish fry for $9.99 after 4pm on Fri and Sat. You can get a baked potato, fries or some sort of specialty rice as a side. Just don't eat here if you are watching your cholesterol. I think your points will go up just sitting there breathing and knowing there is a lot of deep-frying action going on steps away in the kitchen. Oh and if you bring your Asian mother, they won't mind if she brought her own white rice and vinegar with garlic from home.

Nina’s Taqueria

Best authentic Mexican in the greater Kalamazoo area. I've come to love El Gallo Blanco, but Ninas is one notch better. The dining room is small, colorful and charming. I had the super burrito (loved it) and cannot think of better metaphor to describe the size of this dish. All the ingredients are fresh and the chips and salsa are some of the best I've ever had. Felix was my server and he was great (his arms are the size of the super burrito by the way). Who would've thought that such an amazing little authentic Mexican restaurant could be found in downtown Augusta?
This Taqueria is in a little one light village. I highly recommend going straight to the back of the menu to the A La Carte options - Authentic Tacos - I had lengua (tongue), tripa (intestines) and pastor. The chips and salsa were really tasty - homemade for sure - the chips are really thick and the salsa has a nice spice level and a vinegar tang. I should have brought some chips home for chillaqueas. The tripa tacos were better than average. The tongue tacos were average for tongue, but if you have never had tongue, it is the BEST. Very tender and stewed with flavor. But the best by far were the pastor tacos - marinated pork!! SOOOO good and cheap to, about $2 each...and very generous taco portions.
Had cheese and onion mole enchiladas with rice & beans and a Mexican bottled Coke. First thing: they had great chips and salsa, both regular red table salsa and their hot green salsa in a plastic bottle About my entree: Was really hopeful it would have been better based on chips and salsa... But when I heard the sound of the beep that only a microwave could produce, I knew I was in trouble. My enchiladas were rubbery and the cheese was all weird, confirming my sinking feeling about the use of a microwave and my dinner. This would have easily been 4 stars if they didn't use a microwave and found another way to heat / cook / melt everything. Beans were great. PLEASE NINAS, STOP USING THE MICROWAVE. Fried ice cream was amazing night and should not be missed!!!
