I've had a great experience with this restaurant - and a terrible one. When ordering take out the egg rolls were amazing as was egg foo young - Cantonese, oh yes!. But when ordering for delivery the food was terrible. Paper thin chicken with rubbery broccoli - chicken so thinly sliced as to be tough and dry and egg rolls very small and tasteless - not like those I had previously had when ordering take out. Delivery is minimum of 15.00 plus 3.50 delivery charge not including tip . By all means pick up your food and don't have it delivered!! And be prepared to wait, either way!!!

I used to LOVE this place, but lately everything is way over cooked and has no seasoning. Such a disappoint!

Not the fastest place around but I think that's because the ingredient are very fresh. I'm a big fan of the Orange Chicken. Good place and totally worth the stop. I suggest picking up, dining in leaves you wanting more.

Worst experience ever! Was told 45 minutes and waited over an hour. There were at least 15 people waiting for their orders and they had also been waiting well over an hour. The worst part is that they get you to the register, charge you and then you wait even longer! Never again! What a nightmare. Couldn't tell you how the food was because I was too pissed to eat it!

No doubt about it...this is the best Chinese food in the Portland area. Extraordinary. Fresh, beautifully prepared Cantonese style cuisine. Nothing else in the area compares.

Beef teriyaki was pretty good but the sesame chicken is mostly greasing and not much chicken. Dinner specials are a little skimpy on the portions.

This is the best Chinese food in the state that I have had. The food is always fresh, hot and the quality is consistent. The service is courteous and polite. If your looking for a go to place for great Chinese takeout this would be your best bet.

Did take out lunch here not too long ago and had a really good meal. I ordered the hot and soup soup and it was excellent. It's my favorite Chinese soup and it definitely requires a balance. I also shared boneless spare ribs which were very flavorful and not too greasy. For a lunch entree, I had the vegetable lo mein. The noodles were cooked perfectly and, again, the sauce was good and not too greasy. It was loaded with vegetables as well. I ordered by phone and got to the restaurant a bit early. The place was clean and very busy. I waited about 5 minutes and everything was hot and I was supplied with plenty of utensils, duck sauce, etc. The woman at the counter could seriously multitask. The phone was ringing constantly but I did not feel ignored. If you're looking for good Chinese in Westbrook, China Villa is for you. Good people, good food and good service happens there and that's what it's all about.

The pan fried dumplings were good, and the egg rolls were passable. That's about the best I can do with this one. Everything else was barely edible. Egg drop soup was really not worth the effort, tasted off, and even the peas were still in their frozen bag state, hard and cold. Orange chicken was ok, paid the extra .75 for white meat chicken, but it was just like cut up chicken tenders that had been previously frozen, and the sauce was weird. We asked for it extra spicy and it was barely spiced, though they did put some chili oil on the side, so there's that. Outside of higher end dumpling houses and sit down restaurants (bao-bao/Empire) there really isn't great fast cheap Chinese food in Maine. China Eatery in OOB is the surprise best of any I've had, but they are all fairly lackluster.

Well, the food was pretty good but I am sure they overcharged us (delivery) since the dinner combos were under $10. Two dinners came to $33. I'm not a mathematician by any means but that doesn't add up. I won't order from this place again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
