The hours on yelp are wrong. I come most mornings at 7 am. A hour sign in the window would be helpful.

For those of us who are tired of driving to the Starbucks by the dreaded Walmart parking lot, Selah Tea Cafe is a great alternative. This place doesn't just sell tea, but coffee, hot chocolate, and lattes, too. There's even soy and almond milk available for you vegans and dairy-free people out there. Plus there's plenty of seating for reading, internet surfing (do they call it that anymore?), or just hanging out with friends. Selah is something that I'd expect to see more towards Portland, but Waterville is apparently building up its hipster (not just hippy) culture. Hey, there's even an Indian restaurant down the road from this place!

Great variety of teas. I think the green teas are good. Great homeade soups and sandwiches. Very comforting on a day off to lounge on the couch and plug in my laptop and drink tea.

As good and any cafe or casual tea place I have been in. Pleasant staff. Nice items in addition to the liquids served. comfy chairs and atmosphere. I'll be back when I am back in the area.

Well I'm a lot older than "middle-aged" Joel S. and I and my partner enjoyed our stop at Selah. The soups are home-made, apparently, and certainly tasted as though they were. The sandwiches were nothing very special, but they were freshly made and brought to the table. The place has a nice casual atmosphere and the chairs looked comfortable. I doubt you will find anything better in this small town. We didn't try the coffee.

I am the middle aged parent of a college student, so there's probably no point in this review. The cafe is a pleasant place to pass some time with a beverage. I'm not a tea drinker and the expresso machine was broken on the day of our visit. The coffee was lukewarm and unimpressive. The cafe is open and the atmosphere is relaxing. There is a bunch of well worn furniture and there's no pressure to leave The food is supposed to be good and Colby students apparently like to hang out, eat and study there. Fair enough. Compared to Jorgenson's, this is the French Laundry.

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon in the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I ordered a curried chicken salad and was surprised at the size. The balance of portions was spot on and delish. Thanks for the great service and fresh food. I would recommend it to anyone and will return when visiting the area/state again.

This is literally my all time favorite place. Whether it's to study or just hang out, I'm always here. Most of the staff knows my name which is pretty crazy. All of the teas are fantastic and they'll make them hot, iced, as a latte...pretty much however you want! As far as I'm concerned it's the only place worth getting tea in Waterville!

Selah tea feels like another world from the rest of waterville! Very classy, fantastic food, ridiculously fast Internet, trendy, good music, and technologically advanced. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It is by far the best place to sit and relax!

I stopped into the café on Tuesday afternoon to have lunch. I really wanted a salad from Whole Foods; however the nearest one was back in Portland and I was headed north to Bangor. This is located in the town of Waterville which made it a nice little afternoon stop. I was easily able to find parking less than a block from the café. It is a rather large restaurant that they tried to make feel more like a café by adding a few couches and comfortable seats with tables to the rear of the restaurant. The atmosphere was quite relaxing, as I did not feel rushed to eat and run. It is similar to a Panera Bread; you walk up to the counter, order, and they will bring the food to your table once it is ready. There are a large number of teas on the menu, categorized by how caffeinated they are. I thought this was neat. The menu had a variety of interesting salads, sandwiches, and flat breads. The soup of the day was squash bisque or curried chicken noodle. Many of the many items were "curried." I was hoping to have a bowl of soup with my salad; however, both soup options had a good amount of cream in them. I would have enjoyed a lower calorie, lower fat soup option on the menu. I ordered a curried chicken salad and was very pleased with my choice. It had a healthy serving of chicken salad on top of greens that included raisins, apples, and just the right amount of walnuts. I was quite full when I finished my salad and pleased with my lunch. For $11, I had a nice salad and a large iced Americano. If business ever brings me back to Waterville, I would definitely stop back into the Selah Tea Café. I would probably opt for a cup of tea over a coffee. I come here pretty often as a local college student and I find that the ambiance is great for cranking out those 3-4 page papers that don't seem like a lot of work, but that's precisely why you can't seem to start them. The music that they play is very calming and the seats are all really comfortable (I've tried the stools, chairs, and couches). The decor is cozier than Starbucks but still definitely reminded me of the overpriced chain cafe, which may be one of the reasons that I keep coming back. They have a great selection of desserts, teas, and food, all of which I would say is reasonably priced. My favorites are the Thai bubble tea, apple brie sandwich, cream of mushroom soup (when they have it) and the carrot whoopie pie. Staff members are always very friendly and once, there was a local musician up in the front by the exit door! Selah is definitely one of my favorite spots in downtown Waterville.

Great ambiance and Yummy salads & sandwiches. I also love their teas. Total jem in Waterville among some other dingy-looking places.

Great Tea, Atmosphere & Food. An excellent location to sit and relax. Try their Belgian Waffles with real maple syrup! Yummy!

This cafe is rather new supposedly, but they're doing everything right. They have a large tea selection and price their tea-by-the-cup very reasonably, charging only an extra $1 for the rarer teas. The restaurant itself is bright and open with lots of small tables and cozy seats. My husband and I ordered the corn chowder, curry chicken salad sandwich, and portabello wrap. The soup was good, but a bit too buttery and rich for such a warm day. The sandwich and wrap were both delicious with lots of fresh ingredients. Staff was also very polite, and the food came out quickly.

If you like the typical cozy, coffee-shop environment, then you will like this place. They play relaxing music, probably the same playlist you hear in every hipster coffee shop. You can choose among a few different places to sit: a bar area, a sectional couch area, and some basic tables and chairs. There are board games that you can play, and they have free wifi. Their prices are somewhat high, going off the quality of the drinks. For the same price at Starbucks you could get much better. The food is generally pretty good, and they have a vegan menu. They have decent bubble tea.

Cute space and nice atmosphere, but for a cafe they really don't know how to make a cappuccino. Can't say I'm tempted to return after sipping what tasted like straight flavor syrup and sugar. It's pretty expensive, too.

The atmosphere, food and staff are all wonderful! Love coming here, whether it be breakfast, lunch, or tea time! They always have delicious tea ( I love the energy tea and feel good tea ) and you have the option to have it hot or chilled. There breakfast sandwiches are to die for, and the salads, sandwiches and wraps are just as good! A great place to go whether you are alone or with a group, there's ample comfortable seating for all! I love Selah Tea! :)

Stopped for light lunch. Had Tuscan spinach soup no mention of sausage in it until I tasted it. Don't eat sausage so husband ate my soup. Did ask person about soup before I ordered did not mention sausage. Soup and half sandwich were $9.50 which is high. Half a wrap had very little turkey in it though what was in it tasted fresh. This was my first time eating there.

I love to eat here especailly when I have time to sit and relax. The food is healthy and the service is good. Nice soft chairs when you are tired and hungry. Great home made pastries too.

Definitely not a place you'd expect to find in Waterville. They have a wide selection of teas, from maté to boba, a cup of which is about $3.50 and is served in an infuser with a cute three-part hourglass- counting down the brewing time for light, medium, or darkly brewed tea. Their coffee (especially the cappuccino) is the best in town, and their mini desserts are perfect- they often run deals and coupons for free desserts. They have great lunch options (think turkey-brie-cranberry panini and salad) but the portions are too large to eat in one sitting. Definitely a great place to spend a day studying, as their free internet is faster than any you could find on the Colby College Campus. Although the food and drinks can be slightly pricey, the quality is supreme and they have great gifts- from matcha whisks to super cute mugs- and you could not find a better place to spend a rainy afternoon with work to do.

I was a little overwhelmed by the menu, so I found a drink make from something I love: Earl Grey tea. The result was an iced London Fog which was so yummy! I chose a soup off the specials, which was a zuppa toscana. It was really good, however, if you're going to start a soup with bacon, it needs to be fully rendered. I had some flappy pieces of bacon in my soup. The greens were also a bit done but that's a hard thing to control when you have a pot of soup sitting all day. Over all it was a good experience and a lot busier inside than I ever expected!

The food here is good, always fresh and with interesting daily specials. However, they are ridiculously slow. I ordered a cup of soup and half a sandwich online; the website said my order would be ready at 11:55. It is now 12:31, and I just received my food. Ridiculous.

This is what miss most about living in Maine. Every time I come home I make it a point to visit at least once. Their teas are amazing and their food is top notch. The customer service is always fast and friendly. They're doing it right.
