Great fried clams and scallop plate. Reasonably priced, convenient location. This restaurant is everything you would expect for a Maine seafood restaurant. Casual dining experience with delicious food!

Everyone had the Haddock sandwich. Awesome! I had the haddock wrap, just ok should have stuck with the sandwich. Next time we go I'll be ordering the fried clams!! Try it you will like it.

We had a good dinner here- they make excellent lobster rolls!! Would highly recommend it as we visited Maine in the dead of the winter and they had very fresh lobster! This is the type of place where you order at the front and pick up your food on a lot of styrofoam and plastic. Bummer about the styrofoam! Probably would be nice to bring your own nalgene and utensils :)

Skippers makes decent seafood, sandwiches, chicken, and more. It's a much better alternative to dinner from a chain restaurant, and generally doesn't take too long. The wraps are a favorite in my house, when we don't want to travel too far. They also serve breakfast, which I've yet to try. I'm guessing it would be good, but nothing out of the ordinary. If you're hungry, and indecisive, this place should work for you.

My husband and I split a fish club sandwich..... We weren't really hungry and didn't want a full meal. The sandwich was wicked good! It cost about nine bucks and was layered with fresh crunchy romaine, bacon, Swiss cheese, fresh fried fish and tartar sauce.

My partner and I met a couple of friends here for lunch one sunny day in November. This restaurant uses the self serve concept where you order at the counter and go grab your food when your number is called. The place was brightly decorated with a nautical theme, the tables were clean and it had plenty of natural light shining in. My partner and I ordered the fried scallops dinner box. The scallops were so big, they cut them in half to fry and serve. Eaten with some tartar sauce, it was one of the best fried seafood dinner I've ever had in New England. These two boxes cost $9.95 each and it comes with fries, some slaw and a roll. With a drink, it was a very filling and satisfying meal. I also stole a bite (or two) of my friend's fried clams and that will be my order for my next visit to Skippers. I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for some fresh fried seafood!

Some of the best food in Maine period. I make sure to stop in and grab a meal whenever I am passing through. The staff is warm and efficient. Cant wait to go back!

Oh I loooove their food, especially their macaroni salad- yum! Hot dogs are great and all their sandwiches and sides are awesome. They are pricey! Make sure you wanna spend about 15-20+ just for I and hubs to eat. Pretty worth it tho. Pricing is why I have u at 3 stars. Food is a 5!

I have never been so disgusted before in my life. I've seen a little piece of hair on my plate before in places and my date is a CNA so she has seen it all unfortunately.. We were both mortified by what we experienced at this restaurant today. I got the fishwich sandwich and she got a chicken Caesar wrap with mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and a fountain soda. Anyways I looked at my food and a saw piece of hair at the end of the fish. I looked at my date and said its a good thing I don't let things disgust me but then I saw a longer piece of hair and it was in the batter of the fish. I had to pull it out and half the hair which was probably about 5 inches long had batter stuck to it. I convinced my date to eat her wrap cause I hate wasting money but her 5th bite in she found a piece of hair in her mouth from the wrap. So I recommend staying away unless you don't mind eating hairy food. The mozzarella sticks were amazing though. Glad I kinda didn't look at them and just engulfed them down cause I'm sure they probably had hair on them too... The fountain soda tasted fine: just annoying that they only have one size for fountain drinks.

We had a good breakfast at Skippers. At first I wasn't too sure because the parking lot is too small, the outside isn't much to look at, the interior is clean but with plain tables and chairs, and the coffee was awful. But the food came quickly and it was delicious, with big portions and everything cooked perfectly. The people eating at Skipper's were mostly locals and usually one or two people would arrive, then their friends would show up 5 or 10 minutes later. It looked like a ritual that's been going on for years. Even though most of the locals looked like they were at least 45 or 50, there were also younger tourists that dropped in and seemed happy to have found the place. It turns out that there's additional parking at the gas station across the street, after a few minutes the decor just doesn't matter, and the only thing that I remained unhappy with was the coffee. I mentioned to my wife that it was so bad it was probably Bunn, and that's exactly what it was. We're definitely going back for dinner sometime. It's not a fancy place and I don't think too many people go there for first dates or special occasions, but our food was well made and reasonably priced so they've got my attention.

This little place is a hidden, backstreet, gem! Great prices ~ and some of the freshest seafood I've had in a restaurant since moving to Maine. Trust me on this: Drive right past The Lobster Claw and Pound. That place is overpriced, dirty, and full of tourists. This little restaurant blows that place away. They also let you split the fishermans platter. They can consider me a repeat customer.

Eveything was great! Clams, cod, oysters and scallops were fresh and breaking was light and flaky. SCALLOPS are by the far the best I've ever had! Good portions size and great prices!

Based on other local seafood joints, my husband and I ordered a large combo of seafood to split (we've done this many times at other places and had enough to share). My husband went in to pick it up, was waiting in line, only to have a "regular" get preferential treatment from the counter attendant. He was told "He's a regular and he's picking something up. You can wait." If it was me, I would have walked out and let them keep their food, but he didn't want to disappoint his pregnant wife who was jonesing for fried seafood - 5 stars for him! Ultimately, he got dinner home and we break into the box only to find there isn't enough for one person. For $25, I expected a bit more than four scallops and a dozen shrimp. We'll be finding other places to fill my cravings from now on.

I'm a native of Saco and when I moved back to the area one of the first places I took my husband to was Skippers. The food is great and not very expensive. I've never eaten breakfast there but I hear it is very good.

Everything was fine, not excellent, not bad. Friday evening there was no wait when just about everywhere else there was a long wait. Obviously, this place is not on the radar of summer vacationers. We found it well rated in Yelp, no wait, so we went. That and the food being fine is reason enough to go.

I'll admit, from the looks of this place, my expectations where low, but boy was I wrong! We got take out and my rustic turkey sandwich was great. Perfect crusty bread and real big hunks of turkey. The cole slaw was also solid, not too much mayo. I was very pleased and looking forward to trying the chicken and breakfast sometime...

I try to make it a point to eat at Skippers for breakfast whenever I am in town. I love the Country Beni (eggs benedict w/ sausage and a rich hollandaise sauce) and the Mariner's breakfast (eggs, pancakes, bacon, and sausage). The staff are friendly, the food tastes great and the prices can't be beat!
