76 Pleasant Street is way more than pleasant: it's a revelation. Who would have guessed what a jewel was waiting for us in Norway, Maine? My Aunt and Uncle who have a home in Raymond, Maine and in the Washington, DC area told us to be prepared to be amazed by the quality of the cuisine, and they were right. My husband and I are born and bred New Yorkers and have wined and dined around the world. 76 Pleasant Street certainly stands up honorably among my favorite overall dining experiences. As the previous reviewers stated, the atmosphere is charming and intimate. 76 Pleasant is a lovely late Victorian home and you feel very welcome and comfortable from the minute you are on the premises. From the warm, crusty bread, to the extensive wine list to the exquisitely presented and delicious dishes, we were delighted again and again through each course. I really wish I had taken photos of the food, because the sight as well as the taste were admirable. I started with the grilled romaine and asparagus with cranberries, tomato vin and asiago cheese. This dish was truly beautiful to look at and I appreciated every bite. My compatriots had lump crab salad, fried squid and a classic wedge of iceberg lettuce salad. I don't think even a single cranberry was left on a plate, it was so good. The entrees were equally appealing and satisfying: I had the grilled organic chicken breast with saffron Israeli couscous and peperonata and my party had duck and sand dab (a local flounder). Winners, all. For dessert, no one wanted to split: we all wanted to try our own and sample others' picks. I had the red velvet cheesecake (delicious and not overbearing), and other choices were limoncello cake, profiteroles and guava flan. Again, not a crumb remained on our plates. 76 Pleasant Street was a fabulous find and could easily stand up against any of the restaurants in my Upper West Side neighborhood and win hands down for food, service and charm. We drove 90 minutes there and back to savor the experience and it was well-worth the trip.

A gem far away from the crowd. This restaurant in a cozy, converted home has it all. Gourmet food, very reasonable prices, a decent wine list and Pleasent staff. This husband and wife team really knows how to make a dinning experience special. Only negative was that the food came out too quickly. That and it's small size requires reservations. Try it. It IS worth the drive.

Another wonderful evening. Service and ambiance were great. I had the fried oyster and spinach salad, and the roast duck. She had the cauliflower bisque and the scallops. We'll definitely go back, it's worth the trip.

This place is lovely! The ambience is great! The cocktails are right on! The appetizers are fresh and delicious. The entries are outstanding. The desserts are wonderful!! The profiteroles are perhaps the best dessert I have had in my life of traveling around the world. And, Amy adds an air of friendliness and sophistication to top off the evening. All in Norway, Maine. Thank you!

Exceptional! Recently got engaged and was looking for a cozy intimate place to have a ceremony for roughly 17 people. 76 pleasant Street gladly opened their doors to host our special event, and what a great memory it was! We had the ceremony in the front lounge with the fire place going, then a small cocktail hour and dances in the front dining room, then a most delicious sit down meal in the back dining room. They made our day so special, saying "Thank You" truly wouldn't be enough to show our gratitude! Brett and Amy are simply nice people, and their restaurant reflects that! Thank you for all you did for us!

Well , to start the place is in a beautiful old home located just off main street in norway, me. We were told by many of our friends to try it as we did. Spending our summers in Maine , we appreciate good quality fine dining once in a while. The food was excellent and refreshingly wonderful for the lake region of Maine. My wife and I had wonderful salads , seared sea scallops with an Asian influence ( outrageous) and chicken saltimboca, ( good), we shared a great bottle of white wine sat back relaxed in a very warm and quaint environment and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The desserts are to die for as well, I was extremely pleased with the entire experience and Amy (server/owner ) was very nice as well. We will be back next summer!

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and charming. The staff is friendly and yet professional. The menu stays current using ingredients from local farms, and the dishes that the chef creates always expresses his passion and creativity. Overall a quiet, elegant, and truly a "Pleasant" dining experience.

For the third year in a row, we came from Casco to eat at 76 Pleasant Street -- and for the third year in a row, the experience exceeded expectations. The menu is small, but every dish is done perfectly. Last night, each member of our party had tried multiple dishes, and we sought our new ones. I had the crab cakes, which were perfectly cooked and subtly seasoned, without excessive binder. The Pork Loin included a blend of tastes that worked well together; and the pork was juicy while properly cooked. And, the Profiterolle was a perfect capper. I'd like to offer a shout out to the management and staff, who lavish good care on the patrons. They have been welcoming year upon year, and remember us from previous visits. That makes each visit feel special.

This place was phenomenal. Everything was top notch including the coffee, wine, meal, & dessert. We love to eat dinner somewhere that makes meals better then we do and this is the spot. We will definitely be back. The environment was quaint, the service was excellent, and the menu superb. We will probably make this place a monthly tradition.
