I want to bump up my rating because I received a very nice e-mail from the manager apologizing for the issues we had during our stay. I think our visit was just unfortunately timed. This was a very classy gesture and, I think, indicative of the quality this place really is.

This is a cute inn right in the heart of Camden. The beds in the room were comfy and we fell asleep quickly. The food at the breakfast buffet was tasty and we left full. The only downfall was that it looked like the carpets and not been vacuumed and bathroom floors were not swept.

On a whim, my wife and I decided to hop in the car and head up the Maine coast on Labor Day weekend -- with the dog. We took our chances with lodging, knowing that it was a busy travel weekend and most places aren't terribly pet friendly. When we drove into Camden, we spotted the Lord Camden Inn right away. I doubted that they accepted pets, but we decided to check it out anyway. Boy, were we surprised! The young man at the front desk was very friendly, and immediately informed us of two available lodging options, both of which were dog friendly. We were able to check in right away, and found the room to be clean, updated, and inviting. We had a small balcony overlooking the main street, which proved to be the only real drawback of a room on the front of the hotel -- the weather was balmy, and we had hoped to leave our sliding door open through the night, but the street noise (loud voices leaving the bars for the evening, large trucks rumbling through town) proved to be too much. We were happy to have (good) coffee in our room, and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which included homemade granola. Had we required dining recommendations, I have no doubt that the front desk attendant could have provided some. Overall, this was a great experience. The town of Camden appears to be very dog-friendly, which is a huge plus in my mind. The only drawback was the price, which wasn't excessive for a king room with partial water view on Labor Day weekend in a tourist town, but was still a bit more than we expected to pay at the last minute.

I had an excellent time here. The staff were very helpful and the room exceeded my expectations. It even had amenities that weren't advertised directly like a separate livingroom and fireplace. Others have said that it feels like home here and that's true. Very comfortable, close to everything, and the balcony is great place to sit in the evening.

A nice hotel right in the center of one of America's prettiest towns. Very helpful front desk service (Scott) enhanced the experience.

Stayed at the Lord Camden Inn over Presidents Day Weekend for 3 nights. Arrived early on Friday and had no problem with early check in. Staff was extremly friendly and courteous. We had one of the smaller rooms and although the bed was really comfortable and the room immaculate with a cute little balcony looking down on Main Street we did find it a bit claustrophic but it was our choice to go economical on this trip so we understood the room would be small. With bitter cold winter weather there was a nice surprise of freshed baked cookies in the lobby every afternoon/evening. It is in a great location for walking to all the shops and restaurants and does have off street parking available just short walk away. I also left some items behind in the room and notified the hotel. The Manager responded promptly confirming they had found my items and would mail them out to me. Great Service overall.

Stayed here while we were in town to visit family that live in a somewhat cramped 200-year-old farm house and WOW was that a good decision! Our top floor room had a balcony overlooking the harbor, a fantastically comfy bed, access to free WiFi (! especially helpful since Sprint apparently doesn't cover most of Maine!), and Green Mountain coffee in the rooms! It really was the small touches that made this Inn stand up favorably to the two hotels we'd stayed in in Boston and the lovely BnB in Portland, ME. The fact that the inroom coffee maker came with teas, coffee, good decaf and even a Chai Latte mix, that they provide really wonderful soaps and even a dark towel labeled "make up" so you don't have to wipe foundation all over the nice white linens, that there were qtips in the room (i know, it's quirky, but that matters to me)...all of those little things really add up to a great experience. The breakfast the next morning was surprisingly good. They had eggs, bacon, breads, cereals, a selection of locally owned coffees, juice, a waffle maker and fruit. Plus some granola bars and yogurt that we grabbed for snacks for later in the day. Lovely! There was a kerfufle when we checked out because we weren't getting the booked-online rate we were quoted, but the front desk took care of it in less than 5 minutes and we walked out very happy.

We visited the week before Christmas for two nights after getting a great deal through Groupon. It is a super cute little hotel on Main Street within walking distance to tons of great little shops. The room had a beautiful view of the harbor and a cute little balcony. The room was clean and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. We were able to bring our dog and they set him up with a little bed, treats, and dog bowl in the room for us. They even let us leave him in the room to sleep while we went to eat dinner each night (which a lot of hotels do not allow). The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The hotel provides a lot of extras like a Keurig in the room, free breakfast buffet, and free wifi. All in all, it was a great trip and we hope to visit again!

You must stay here . . . my family arrived tired and grumpy after the dreaded "red eye".. they had our room available early so that we could crash and get some much needed sleep . . . The room smelled delicious, was cool on a very hot day and dark enough to indeed, sleep! From then on, it just got better... everyone was soooo friendly, the breakfast in the a.m. was over the top, and the location.... PERFECT!!! I cannot say enough good things about the Lord Camden Inn . . . .I hope to be blessed to one day come back here . . . . There is no better value for your dollar out there . . I promise!!!!

My friend and I stayed here in April 2011 and the staff was so helpful and generously upgraded us without us even requesting anything. I would recommend the rooms that overlook the town/harbor. The building had a good deal of character including brick, the beds were very comfy, the breakfast was good and they even had a small workout room. I would definitely stay there again. Note: the front of the property does not do it justice.

So last week was my 3 year wedding anniversary and my birthday... my husband and I wanted to road trip trough coastal Maine and do some leaf peeping! On our journey we stopped in Camden, Me... very quaint harbor town. We booked a night at the lord camden inn was very happy we did! The room was beautiful! we had a little stream right outside our window that was surrounded by a white picket fence! It was picture perfect! The bed was so comfy.. it was the first time i didn't miss my own bed. Our stay included breakfast that was great... homemade scones, waffles, eggs, cereal, juices, and flavored coffees. The location was great too, it was right in the middle of town on "main" street in maine on the costal highway. If you're ever in the area you must make a stop and rest up and the lord camden inn.

My husband and I stayed here while on our Honeymoon and the experience was fantastic. Lovely, clean rooms, located in the middle of town, you really can't go wrong with this place! Breakfast to fuel up before you set out for the day, and though they allow animals, their rules are so that they are NO bother, if they are there during your stay. If you are looking for a lodging option close to EVERYTHING in Camden, this is it! We look forward to a re-visit!

After reading all of these other reviews, I guess my visit to the Lord Camden Inn wasn't as good as theirs. Traveling in the Maine area for 8 days, we decided that staying in a boutique hotel might be a nice change. Upon arriving we learned that parking is about 2 blocks away. We had to unload at the back of the hotel and lug our suitcases up the steps. As far as I know, there was never an offer to help us either unload or load. Parking the car was a quest too. In order to get in the lot, you must take one of the 5 passes that they have for guests to use to open the gate. Having only 5 passes is not enough. Then to go re park your car if you go somewhere, you have to go through the whole process again. The staff was not overly friendly either. Just doing enough to get by. The breakfast was pretty good with a nice variety of items to choose from. The rooms were very small and our river view was more like a canal view. The central location to shopping and restaurants was great. But I think for the money we spent we could have had something better than this.

We came with a Groupon deal for a 2-night stay and loved it. It was especially nice that our dog was able to join us, too! This was a first and she did well and we had no problem leaving her for short periods of time for our meals out. Though they didn't set us up with the pet amenities, we made do and didn't bother making a fuss of it. We stayed in a River View room and it was clean and stocked with nice amenities (Keurig, balcony, a 32" flat screen tv). We were frustrated with the lack of convenient electrical outlets for our phones but again, made do. Being that it was 20 degrees outside, we did not take advantage of the balcony and the view of the river felt more like a large stream. The heat is not central but a window unit which made temperature regulation and sound a bit annoying but just a minor detail (in case you find that helpful). The bed was comfortable and I loved the sheets/comforter - felt so luxurious! I do wish the room size was bigger, especially since it limited the space for our pup so keep that in mind if you're bringing yours along! Staff were friendly and I loved the cookies/coffee reception in the afternoon/evening. Breakfast was a little underwhelming though I agree with everyone that the homemade granola was tasty. Eggs are made to order and they have a waffle maker. I guess I was hoping for some type of protein in the morning... Despite going in March, the town of Camden was still welcoming, though empty. LCI is located conveniently in the center of town and everything was accessible by foot. Thanks for such a great stay!

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The room, lobby, and breakfast room were all perfect. Extremely well-maintained and comfortable. The staff there are very friendly, helpful, and make you feel relaxed. Many times the free breakfast at hotels leaves something to be desired. Not so here. Wonderful local bagels, muffins, toast. Great coffee, fresh eggs and waffles and even sweetened blueberries to put over the waffles! That part was a very pleasant surprise. And the prices are reasonable!!! I couldn't ask for more.

My Girlfriend was attending an HR conference at the Samoset recently and I decided to tag along for a mini midweek vacation. Unfortunately the Samoset had no vacancies our first night in town, so we booked a room at the Lord Camden Inn... I said "unfortunately" I should have said "how fortuitous"! Although we love the Samoset we really enjoyed our evening at the Lord Camden Inn. We had a room over looking the little river that runs by it and truly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with a glass of wine. Camden is without question one of my favorite little towns along the Maine Coast and if you ever have the opportunity I'd recommend staying at the Lord Camden Inn. You won't be disappointed. Spent a beautiful Sat. in Camden exploring the town, Camden Hills State Park and a hike up to Bald Rock in Linconville which ended on top w/ a spectacular water vista. The Lord Camden Inn nestled in town made the perfect location for us and our nineteen month old yellow Lab to rest our heads. The riverview king room was very comfortable and situated perfectly with its balcony to sit outside and enjoy the late day summer sun after a long day's adventure.
