The food choices and bagels deserve 3 stars but the service and muffins deserve 5. They have a good selection of bagel and cream cheese flavors but the bagels are quite tiny and nothing special. The bagel cafe really only does bagels, muffins, and coffee so don't expect a diner or a full breakfast. The people here are really nice and they had the best blueberry muffin I've ever had so I needed to give them 4 stars.

Step off the main drag. Please. Now walk a short block and there is bagel bliss. Big airy interior, super fresh ingredients and friendly staff. I had an excellent Caprese sandwich with fresh basil. Turkey Club was killer, too.

Went to Camden. Went to the Bagel Cafe. This time around I couldn't resist, the warm cinammon buns that the proprietess (June? Jules? Julie?) had just taken out of the oven. I still had to grab a bag of bagels to take home. Had one for breakfast. They're SOOOOO good!

We went twice during our stay in Camden because our Inn offered free breakfast there. They have a limited breakfast sandwich menu. I think bacon was the only meat option. Both visits were in the morning. None of the staff were friendly and no one smiled. The bagel selection was limited as well. If you're used to the bagel selection in most NYC places, or even chains like Panera or Einstein....this place was pretty limited. No "everything bagels" and NO Blueberry!!! This is Maine! How can you have NO blueberry bagels? The bagels we tried were kind of dry, and didn't have the right amount of chewiness to them. We also tried 3 different kinds of muffins. Lemon, Blueberry & cranberry. They didn't taste fresh either. The insides were moist & tasted pretty good. However, the outside was hard, dry and tasted stale. Funny thing is they had a great orange juice in the drink case...the label read something about "All the Goodness of Maine" and underneath the words "Orange Juice " there was a "Pure Florida" logo.

As an obnoxious tourist from VA, when I get free breakfast from a family owned cafe in a small town, I fully expect to be treated like the sun shines from my bodily orifices. This establishment failed to extend me that courtesy. I was also horrified to discover that this is not the exact same experience that has been standardized by the conglomerate city chains that I know and love. (Einstein's and Panera.) Despite the fact that this cafe does make "everything" (aka Italiano) bagels and blueberry, they did not have these options on the day of my visit. This omission robbed me of a stereotypical "Maine" experience, which I have earned simply by drawing breath. The specific texture of the food did not meet with my approval, and I was also disappointed to find that although they carried juice from local bottlers, the citrus fruit ingredients were not locally harvested. I feel that the local climate should be adjusted for the purpose of growing oranges in New England. Despite having no real complaint besides not being treated like royalty and offered 51 flavors of bagel at this small establishment, I have elected to take it upon myself to go online and create a 1-star review that may potentially harm the business of decent, hard working people who fed me while I visited their small town. Actually, scratch all of that. This place is a great spot, with great bagels, and it deserves its status as a locally treasured establishment. Five stars.

The bagel cafe is great place to go for a simple, affordable lunch. I always order the sesame bagel with vegetable cream cheese. It's nothing fancy but it is tasty! The service is usually pretty speedy as well. I like to take my little cousins here for lunch sometimes because I know that there will always be something they'll enjoy on the menu. Also, there are coloring books and crayons in the corner. You can order a dozen bagels as well which are great for meetings or large family gatherings.

Great, reliable, delicious breakfast in Camden. More importantly, the service is excellent. You ask for something how you'd like it and they make it without any issues. For health conscious people, approachable nature is much appreciated! Especially great service from Kayla! Thanks!

Great breakfast. Read the paper and chill. Update a few years later. Maybe I am getting older, but the vibe just ain't there anymore. Prices are up and the bagles seem a little smaller.

One of our favorite quick breakfast spots! Their bagels, cream cheeses and baked goods are all delicious. We go here at least once a week.

Perfect for what it's intended, Bagel Cafe quickly becomes a comfortable clubhouse with friendly, affable staffing, good coffee, and better baked goods. Stop looking. You're on your coffee break.

Lots of bagel choices and several hot and iced tea and coffees as well. The bagels were great. We got the lox bagel sandwich and a veggie sandwich and both were fresh and yummy. The service was great and they even have cookies, muffins and mini muffins. The shop was literally steps away from where we were staying and it was a great quick breakfast spot with plenty of seating in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

All of the other businesses that I have been to in Camden, I have given 5 stars to except this one. The owners response to my honest feedback shows why. During my first visit I asked when they opened and I was told 7:30 so I said I would show up tomorrow at that time to pick up my order. Based on the owners response, he blames the customer on why the order wasn't ready. Also based on the owners response I am supposed to know the order they bake their goods in- that I find ridiculous. Lastly, it's not my fault his staff didn't charge me the right price. I didn't notice the price of muffins because I didn't care, I figured that they would charge me the appropriate price. And I don't appreciate the assumption that I was trying to short change a business. As someone whose family has owned businesses and who works with clients, this is just a lousy response to honest feedback. Most certainly now I will not return to this store and will advise others to do the same. Camden is a beautiful town and all other stores/ businesses that I've been to do not carry the same attitude I've seen here.

Big thumbs up for Bagel Cafe. Fantastic bacon, egg and cheese on an onion bagel. Very good everything bagel toasted with cream cheese (however, I hear you're not supposed to toast bagels unless they are on sandwiches? I dunno, this is what my bagel place in NY does...maybe a traditional thing. I like mine toasted). Great for breakfast (especially if you missed the continental breakfast at one of the godzillion inns in town because you overslept.)

Without a doubt one of the best places in Camden to get a snack, and their bagels are pretty good. We probably go to Camden Bagel Cafe at least every 3 days when we stay at our cottage in nearby Appleton.
