We went to this restaurant just a few days after opening and we were really impressed. The decor is simple and comfortable, the service was great and the food was impressive. The lunch entrees start at $8 and the dinner entrees at $12. The food tasted very fresh and flavorful and was ready quickly. My kids were quite playful when we were in there and the waiter was very nice with them. It's nice to have another Thai restaurant in town.

Went to off the hook on Thursday after work (7pm) Quick service and order was ready quick as well which is important. The seafood was good. I had fried calamari basket, the calamari was great! I got the shrimp basket for boyfriend and once I got home I saw that it was the tiny maine shrimp which I didnt realize. It would be nice to note that on the menu. The coleslaw in the basket was bad but the sauces were good. I would try it again and maybe try something different then the shrimp.
There are three important things to know about this place, fried, fried, and fried. The seafood is fresh, but you better like it fried. There are some options other than fried and my son had the lobster roll and it was good standard fare. It is not a Lobster Pound with a lot of steaming going on. There is no ambiance, just tables outside to eat. One of our orders the fisherman's platter was supposed to have scallops but did not.
Great seafood, the rolls are fresh and their fried stuff is light and not greasy at all. Very fast service and good prices make it a good dinner spot on the way back from hiking all day.

Pick your own lobster, byob (and tablecloth, flatware, condiments and sides, wineglasses, vases and flowers, if you like...) Admittedly, the lobster and the lovely environment on the bay are the thing, since they are wisely minimal when it comes to preparation. Simple simple simple, but highlighting the seafood. Lobster stew was a case in point. Light milky broth, with plenty of large pieces of super fresh lobster meat, served up in a plastic takeaway container with oyster crackers and a few pickle chips. Also props to the helpful Ziggy and staff (serving up Jamaican cheer) who explained that you order first, remember your number, and grab your spot on the deck or in the dining room, wait to be called, pick up your food, THEN pay. If you can get the 2nd floor deck table, you have scored big time, the couple that was occupying it when I was there looked like they were prepared to stay all night long. Aim for pre-sundown arrival.
While the location and lobster were good, the customer service was some of the worst I have ever had in a restaurant: No broth was served with my steamed clams, as is traditional, so they were a bit gritty. My lobster stew was lukewarm. You get one small, thin napkin with a shore dinner (are you kidding me), and they don't have napkins on the tables, so you have to go back to the counter and ask for more. The corn on the cob was WAY overcooked. I spent $39 for a shore dinner and they didn't want to give me a cup for water without charging me $2!!! I live in Maine five months of the year, and I most definitely wouldn't go back.
Not sure what all the hype is about here. Lots of old people with picnic baskets and their own checkered tablecloths taking up space in back, which made it seem more like a seniors' campground mixer. Clam chowder wasn't really chowder - to be fair, it had lots of clams, but they were just thrown in a kind of a broth that wasn't very tasty. No skill used in putting it together. We each got "sauteed"dishes (lobster and scallops) which weren't really sauteed - they were sitting in too much sauce, which made them mushy. Tasted fine, but the people here don't seem to know how to *cook*, or at least not well. They just steam. The amosphere at any other lobster shack in Maine is just as charming and scenic, you can do better.

Consistently great food!
Warning: This review pertains only to their Drunken Noodles, which I regularly get for take-out. The servings are huge, they are full of basil and nice, fishy sauce, and they do not scrimp on the shrimp and scallops. It's really well-done and a great value for the money.
Great spot! Love those exotic orange crunchy French fries that were revealed to be carrots, and ofc the super hot "red powder." I recommend the everything, with a side of everything. Heat level 5, with extra red powder. Props to the waitress, seated us by the window at night and lamented the incredible view of pitch-black darkness. Starting off with a laugh is a nice balance to the red powder. I look forward to next time!

I'm not the usual vegetarian restaurant sort but this place has had me hooked for years. Yummy breakfast burritos filled with things like potatoes, kale, tofu, cheddar, and more leave me sated every time. And the irresistible bakery gets me on the way out - cherry chocolate chip cookies, fruit tarts, scones, etc. All top notch. Sure their service can be spotty and their hours mysterious, but I am surprisingly forgiving. I just can't resist them.
Did not sit and eat, only bakery. Cauliflower & Gruyere Tart... good. Berry Tart... killer. PB cookie... Ok.
I wish I could give the food at this place six stars. I had a vegan spicy tofu sandwich that was literally the best tasting sandwich I have ever had in my life, meat sandwiches included. Taste aside, I also admired the seemingly superb quality of the ingredients. The interior is quite pleasant as well. It's a bit loud, as it was full to capacity, and voices tended to echo in the big open space. But it's bright and airy feeling, and there's a small farmers market full of fresh unique fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The long wait for lunch was a bit of a bummer, but it was absolutely worth it. If you have ever questioned whether vegetarian food can be delicious, this place might just make your doubts disappear for good.

This was our third visit to Delvino's. The food is fabulous, wait staff is wonderful. When our kids visit from the West Coast, they will drive a couple hours to have the mushroom sacchetti! If we are anywhere near Belfast for dinner, this is our go-to place. The decor with dark paint and plain brick on the walls is great. It is on our short list of places we always want to enjoy.
Decent food but it took over 50 minutes to receive our food after we ordered. We had chicken marsala, 4 fresh pasta dishes and a pizzette. Our server was on top of drinks and very helpful but after waiting so long to get our meals, I think you are just naturally in disappointment mode. My pizzette was supposed to be margherita style. It was far from a margherita style and the bottom was burned and tasted like cooking gas. Everyone else said their meals were wonderful and overall the server was attentive - I realize she has little control over the cooks but 60 minutes to get meals from the time they were ordered is not ok!
It's loud. Everyone has to yell to be heard. Which makes it louder. The bread they immediately brought was hot and a little gooey. There is an oil and vinegar salad dressing for dipping it. Now I know why: the oil alone could have been first cold- pressed newspaper for all the olive taste it had. The beer list: lousy; criminal, when you consider there is a good brewery down the street, and a dozen excellent ones in Maine. Wine list: a little better, but I didn't scrutinize it. We had pasta with garlic cream sauce (bland, salty) and pesto and roasted red pepper "pizzetta" (really salty, smothered in cheese but not in a good way). The ambience, other than the noise, is nice. Service was speedy and excellent. Perhaps just our menu choices but food just doesn't have it. If it was the 80's the food would have been excellent. Maybe that's why nearly all the patrons were over 50. Following what seems to be a trend, the napkins are of some synthetic material with all the absorbency of aluminum foil.

Great BBQ! The pulled pork - excellent! The ribs - excellent! The baked beans, mac & cheese - excellent! Even the garlic bread was something special. Sauces were all solid. The aroma is fantastic just walking down the street. The people behind the counter were extremely friendly and made me feel that they were actually glad that I stopped in. I can't wait to go back to Belfast just to visit this place again. Extremely happy and will gladly go back again.
Having spent a lot of time in BBQ country, all over N.Car., Ky, Va., Ga, Nashville, Memphis, K.C. Etc I've had Q in all the best places. After moving here from Ohio, I gave up hope for finding good Q. Unfortunately, these guys have proven me right. After trying it now 3 times, (I give all places at least 3 tries) I resign myself to keep looking for good Q. Sorry guys. I really wanted your Q to compete. Not yet!
This place has changed a little bit. The portions have gotten a lot smaller and the prices have gone up. However, the food is excellent. The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome immediately! It is definitely worth a visit. Try the pig bomb.

My husband and i just moved to Belfast and found Darby's Saturday night. It's difficult to find brewed iced tea and spicy food in Maine. We hit the jackpot with Darby's! We ate dinner there Saturday night and went back on Sunday for lunch(it was that good!). Love the Buddha bowl and Pad Thai...i asked for extra spicy...i mean blow your eyes out of your head spicy and the waitress brought out extra chili-garlic sauce which made it perfect. The Pad Thai was the best i've had...and the iced tea was BREWED...not out of a soda machine. We tried their crab cake sliders..amazing!!! And their Scottish toffee pudding was absolutely delicious! Super-friendly service...Theresa & Victoria took great care of us, filling up our drinks constantly and giving us helpful recommendations on yummy things to try. Made us feel very welcomed and happy to be there. Love Darby's...absolutely our favorite place in Belfast to get delicious food and cheer! A+
We had a terrific dinner at Darby's last evening. They went out of their way to accommodate as one of our party has difficulty hearing. The food was outstanding for each of us and the signature dessert was heavenly. This was our first time there. We will go back!
This restaurant has great atmosphere with tin ceilings and a bar that is ornate and old. I have been to Darby's twice now and both times service was as slow as molasses on a cold day. On our most recent dining experience the restaurant was almost empty with only three tables of four diners occupying the room. Service was curt and it would have taken a miracle to get our waitress to crack a smile. We ordered appetizers from the menu, and they were not bad, but the meatballs tasted like frozen store bought meatballs. I have always cooked homemade meatballs and these were all the same size, spongy, and did not taste like meat. The marinara on the meatballs was watery, almost like salsa. This was not just my opinion, but the tables as well. I wish I could give them a better review, but they need to up their game on service. Like I said, great atmosphere.

This is a standard franchise; nothing special other than a good view. The restaurant had reasonable prices but quite poor service. The haddock wasn't well prepared and the portion was small. Prime rib? It was a grilled steak; actually excellent but not what I ordered. We arrived here at the end of June on a miserable rainy day. The rate of $130 for this time of year did not seem to be consistent with rates in other parts of Maine for this time of year. Overall, the hotel and restaurant were not a good value for money unless you have to find a room at this time of year and this is your only choice. There was an interesting restaurant right down the road but I can't recall the name. We went there for a cocktail. I wish we had stayed for dinner.
The staff at this restaurant was incredibly gracious and patient with my family, arriving at 8:45 on a Wednesday night (they close at 9) after we'd been at a funeral. The waitresses, hostesses and cooks must have been exhausted, but they still gave our family excellent service and did a nice job balancing attending to us and respecting our needs, having just come from the services. They were also very accommodating with the mix of credit cards and cash we used to cover our bill, not batting an eye at our bizarre division of the check. Comfort Inn should be pleased to have such excellent staff in their Belfast hotel and restaurant.
Came in tonight after the front desk at the hotel raved about the new chef. I had a cup of clam chowder that was excellent, and main course of Prime Rib, which was seasoned nicely and was cooked perfectly. I went in thinking I'd rate it as a normal restaurant, not pulling any punches, even though it was 'hotel food', and was definitely impressed. Their selection of wines from the chef are also great. I was really floored and will definitely eat there again. Great staff! Rob

First time at Ming's, our lunch was the best I have ever had at a Cinese restaurant. Great service Kim. Great tasting food and hot when we received it. We will definitely be going back again.
Our lunch was excellent. The taste, portion and price were right on. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.
One of the best take Chinese I've had in a very long time. My General Tso's was crispy and the sauce not overly sweet. I'll go back again.
