The prices at this place are amazing. The portion size is generous, even for the lunch menu. It was a little disappointing that the dinner menu isn't available at lunch. I was definitely in the mood for shrimp scampi, but had to make a different choice when I found out. I went with the sausage and mushroom hero. It was excellent, huge size, had to be eaten with a knife and fork. They are somewhat measured with their usage of ingredients, but that actually gives the dish a better, more authentic taste and feel. I was quite impressed with sandwich. I will be going back for dinner at some point soon. I would say that having only the lunch menu available for lunch is why I am holding on to that last star. Oh yea, they DO NOT accept credit cards. Bring cash!

My favorite Italian restaurant. The food is home cooked to order. Veal parm and the manicotti are super. Not much atmosphere but you go there for the food not the seats.

No frills. No smiles. No heat. I was told pasta primavera would take 45 minutes to make because "he" makes everything from scratch. Curious. Perhaps vegetables were being grown and/or pasta was being freshly made? Nope, straight up barilla pasta in the blue box. More importantly, the "Italian salad" was nothing more than ice berg lettuce and pickled carrots and cauliflower. Gross and sour. I have very thankfully been to Italy on numerous occasions. Never have I experienced something like this. I'm sure there are more authentic Italian restaurants in the greater Bangor area, and I look forward to trying them on for size. The less than twelve dollar carafe of vino was the high- light. Cash only...

this place is good. Damn good. Great for the price and location even. Bangor is hurting for dining options; lots of smoke and mirrors establishments where the space is nice, but the food is overpriced and poor in quality. This place is just the opposite. The food is great; spot on, simple, and freshly prepared. The space is run down, but the booths are comfy - unsightly, but comfy. We had and antipasto salad, lasagna, chicken parm, side of meatballs, 1/2 carafe of wine and a pepsi for $38. You can get nothing better at this price point.

Very decent imitation of New York style pizza. If you've had the real deal, it's not quite the same, but it's delicious anyway. Good place to call ahead and get an order for take-out (no delivery available) or to sit and eat with friends. The pizzas are a quite generous size. *Please note: Tesoro's doesn't accept credit cards! So make sure you bring enough cash!!!

Best pizza in Bangor, maybe even the world! We've had pizza in NY, Chicago, Philadelphia, NJ Boardwalks and even in the pizza motherland - Italy. None compare. If you like cheap, good tasting Italian food in a NY sassy service style, you'll love this place. The owners cook and serve. Most times, the wife works the dining room in bathroom slippers. I didn't say it had atomsophere, just great food. I live in Bangor and eat here at least once a week. Always tasty and the owners remember your name, your family and your interests. They care about their customers. Tell Rocco and Forune that John & Janet sent you. No discount, no better seating, no better anything, just say it!

Okay so they don't take credit cards, the interior is dingy, the staff is uber grumpy. BUT, the marinara sauce was delish and the pizza was bizarrely good - a reasonable facsimile of New York City cheese pie in the middle of Maine. Go figure. I suggest ordering your pizza to go. And BRING CASH!

Best pizza in town. The pasta is also very good. The prices are reasonable. Remember to have cash on hand!

Great pizza. They roast the green peppers in the oven with garlic before using them to top pizza, so delicious! I hate nothing more than raw peppers on my pizza. The owners are from New York, when you go into the place it is kind of like being in New York. The "Waitress" is actually extremely pleasant when you get to know her, but you have to make an effort. The meatballs and garlic knots are also to die for. I definitely recommend checking this joint out. If you are looking for sickeningly sweet, smiley service go to a chain... if you are looking for good food at a good price then check out Tesoro! :)

Food was just ok, nothing to write home about, and not a place I would go back to. Service was bad, the waitress was not pleasant at all.
