A great addition to our downtown. Rotating taps of wicked beers, a huge selection of bottles (plus well-edited wine and spirits menu), and an incredibly, ridiculously delicious burger selection. Try the wings, too (they are not deep fried). Service here is the best: the owner and staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I recommend NDH to everyone I know, and to travelers and beer geeks from anywhere. Great for after work, for weekends, for dates, or any damn time you like! Love, love, love!

Best beer selection in Bangor! Great food, friendly (and funny) staff...why go anywhere else?!

this is our go to place to have a drink & relax. the rotating taps always have an option (sometimes more than one) for each of us, the beer drinker and the non-beer drinker. i love the cider or interesting mead options, the hubby likes the beers of course! we go before the heavy evening crowd so we can have a conversation but any time is a good time for great drink selections! prices are reasonable when you consider that this isn't where you go to get a budweiser (which we like to call water).

Considering how busy it was the night we were there (the Friday after Thanksgiving), we had a very good experience here. Eclectic and interesting mixture of bottle and draft beers, multiple ciders, and a surprising number of meads (Yeah, meads... plural! It's awesome enough to find a place serving just one). And our waitress was awesome... funny and friendly and offering up all sorts of great suggestions. We all drank well that night, I think. A bit pricey, a little loud, and quite crowded, but worth the trip. I look forward to going back.

Wow! Service:rocked it!! It got busy while we were there. The waitress acknowledged it with a smile Food: say this out loud: pork n cider sandwich. Hahjahaha. I ate it & it was amazing. Seriously the best pulled pork seasoned so well! The hamburger was all hamburger. They did it simple n perfect. Dessert. Check out the strawberry thing. When is the last you had shortcake grilled!? Yum!!!

IF YOURE THIRSTY GREAT IF YOURE HUNGRY BAD Met a friend here for lunch/drinks. Sounded like a place i would enjoy...cool art, dark vibe, known for their craft beer selection ect. But i was very hungry. I order a beer. The Foundation Wanderlust. Good stuff! Light & smooth kinda citrus(y) with out being TOO fruity. They didnt have many options as far as food but appeared to have more than just general "bar fare" But i'll say again, i was VERY hungry & i told the bartender this. I wasnt sure if i should get a burger or bbq brisket. Bar guy suggests the bbq brisket. My friend gets the burger. I'll say it was good. If you like bread & onions. Because it had alot of that. It was a small sandwich. It had 3...THREE....slices of meat. There was more onion than meat. Hell, there was more bread than onion. Maybe they just dont know how to serve bbq the north east but when someone orders bbq they expect a PILE OF MEAT. The potato salad was FIRE tho! Thumbs up on that sh!t. Very spicy & creamy & the potatoes were perfect! Still hungry tho, so i order wings. They come in the half or full pound. I order a half & got FOUR tiny (you know the cheap kind with all the fatty skin on it) wings :-( I should have just got the burger. Im $30 in the hole (with only one beer) & still hungry. I dont think i will give this place anymore of my money. Staff was great but local craft beer can be found easily anywhere else.

This is one of my favorite bars in the country. I always make sure that I stay in Bangor while I travel just to come to this place. Food is great beer selection is even better. Great Absinthe. Apart from that the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the hundreds of beers they offer. And the crowd is the chill educated friendly type. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Wife and I stopped by on a recommendation after dinner for drinks. She had the UFF Baby Jimmy Cider. It was served in a Mason jar and was awful tasting. It looked like cloudy lemonade and tasted like seltzer water with a hint of flavor. My wife and I each took one sip and set it aside. I had the Allagash Special Blonde. It was good but nothing special. Both drinks were priced at $7. We did not feel we got our moneys worth on either drink. There were 3 bartenders behind the bar. They pretty much just stood back there despite the bar being full. They did not check our our opinion of drinks while we were sitting at the bar -despite the fact we were clearly not happy with the cider. As we were leaving a bartender (not the one who served us) asked what we thought of the drinks. I told him the cider was awful but did not engage him further. It was too late for that. It should have been obvious to him 20 min earlier. Very disappointed with the experience despite receiving rave reviews from friends and Yelp. I am from out of town so a second chance will not likely happen. I will visit other bars in the future.

I came here with a group of people and were easily seated on a Saturday night, although our choice of seating was RIGHT NEXT to the live music (which I wasn't a fan of, but that's not the restaurant's issue). I had entered in with the impression that they brewed beer there, but instead had a selection of local and some imported beers. WAY too many IPAs and other pale ales on the list though. I did settle on a nice Belgian framboise that was lovely. The food was just okay. We had the charcuterie et frommage which was a lot of salami and nothing else really for the meats, but the cheeses presented were wonderful. I had a bacon and bleu burger for my entree and it was not good at all. The bleu cheese was way too aggressive a type and I wasn't able to enjoy the flavor of the local grass-fed beef or the local bacon. I only managed about half of it. Very disappointing. Another thing that was disappointing? The cosmopolitan that I ordered that was pretty much straight vodka with lime. Completely undrinkable. This place was just okay, but I probably wouldn't make the drive all the way to Bangor just for it.

They have the best draft selection that I have seen in Bangor. The bartenders are all super chill as well. It's my favorite bar for sure! I also love the decor of the place.

Great beer selection (obviously) and the employees are wonderful at making recommendations based on what style you like. My only complaint is that I like to snack with my drinks... And their menu is a little sad. Otherwise, great place with unique selection and comfortable seating!

I'm surprised I don't have a review of this place! This Bangor staple is a must visit if you are able to enjoy a beer and some live entertainment. I lived above the bar for a year and would frequent the place. I always felt welcomed, remembered, and chatted up by the staff. They are wonderful. The music room, bar, and outdoor patio provide everything you could possibly want in an institution and they have amazing musicians play, to boot! Great beer, great entertainment, great people = great time!

A good option in what looked like a rather quiet downtown area. Walk through the front door and you'll find a rather long bar with plenty of seating and several high tops. A french door opening midway into the room leads you to another room with couches, small tables, and a small stage for live music. Beer was selection was good (10-12+ beers on tap), though I expected a lot more draft options for a bier haus (think Yardhouse where there are like 100+ beers on tap, but it is obviously a much smaller venue). Originally planned to have dinner here but quickly realized that the menu was more for small bar bites. We had the soft pretzel and chicken wings. Both of which were very good! Wished we came here after dinner instead of before!

The staff is always great and attentive. Amazing variety of beer, I personally love the framboise lambic. I didn't expect them to have great food, but I got a burger there with bacon and blue cheese and it was one of the best burgers I've gotten in Bangor!!! Cooked perfectly to the temperature and served in a timely manner every time. Hasn't let me down yet!

Out of my 3 favorite beers. We ordered a couple beers but the staff seemed disinterested in us. Beer was good but never received the water I asked for. Nearly had the check thrown at us with out a word to say. Plus had to wait another 15 minutes to give them the money.

This is my favorite downtown establishment for grabbing a drink. If you like beer or cider or something in between this is absolutely your place. The staff always make the BEST recommendations!! You tell them what you like to drink and they will put something in front of you that will WOW and excite. They have a small well chosen menu of bar food as well as full dinner options. They also have a small drink list. I recommend that Dark and Beefy! This is also one of the largest places to drink making it slightly less crowded then some of the other places, but if there is a band play it can get quite crowded.....in a good way.

Amazing selection of beers on tap and great, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Food leaves something to be desired but it is an awesome place to hangout downtown for a few drinks.

Came in with friends late a few nights, and the staff was friendly, the food was good, and the entertainment was terrific! We enjoyed: Pub Cheese & Crackers: Haus made cheese spread with assorted crackers Charcuterie et Fromage: A fine assortment of artisanal meats & cheeses accompanied by olives and bread Delightful all around!

A cool Draft Haus in downtown Bangor. They have a great selection of rotating beers on tap. We've been in twice and noticed it gets quite smoky. (Obviously an issue with the ventilation system in the kitchen). They propped open the door to let the smoke dissipate. Thankfully it warmed up today. 32 degrees :-) Burr ok shut the door. The food was good. Steak and cheese sub and a beef chili. The bar area is on one side and there's more seating in a side room where they also have live music. The one TV in the bar area seems to be used as a monitor for the bar area to watch the band in the other room. It's a fun atmosphere and a good time. A great stop for a good beer while in town.

High end beer bar without high end prices! Great atmosphere. Good people working the bar. Food was decent, had a preztel with some very solid mustard and some hummus and crackers.

We love Nocturnem. The rotating taps are always very interesting and tasty -- there is always something for everyone! And the wait staff know their beer. Also, although their menu is fairly simple, the food is surprisingly excellent and they serve the best burger in downtown Bangor. Awesome atmosphere, great people, delicious beer. We go there once a week, and are never disappointed. I highly recommend Nocturnem to anyone who enjoys drinking and talking beer.

I love coming here at night, after a long day of work and traveling. If you are a true beer fan, they have an incredible selection. The dinner menu fair is nice with a variety of pub type food, well done. Free wi-fi, good staff, and an eclectic mix of customers make it very enjoyable. They have a good combination of bar, table, and lounge seating. Also feature displays from local artists.

So many delicious beers on tap, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Very cool, very authentic. The staff's knowledge of and excitement for quality beer were evident. Definitely worth stopping in for a few pints.

Wicked awesome beer selection. One of the only places outside of Belfast to get Marshall Wharf beer. Our bartender Gordon was so friendly it was unbelievable. Bangor is blowing up with all of these great new businesses!!

I love this place because they have the raspberry lambic that i have not seen since living in Italy. Beers are in the ok-pricey range. WIDE selection to choose from. Service is GREAT-if you get the bartender named Laura make sure you have a convo with her, she is supper funny and nice! Have yet to try any food there. Great atmosphere and perfect for a date- one room is cozy and intimate and other is your typical bar area. They are only open until midnight so it is the perfect place to start your night.

LOVED this place! In the area for a very short time but the online website drew us in. Loved their philosophy and when we arrived it didn't fall short. With our server's help we ordered a couple of different brews, after the requisite martini of course! We also had an appetizer cheese plate which was delish - that coupled with the great blues band that was playing made for a perfect evening.

I have had the pleasure to have visited some of the best beer bars in NYC, The Blind Tiger, The Gingerman and D.B.A. They are all great and Bangor's newest bar, Nocturnem Draft Haus, is their equal or better. We are likely to have such a fantastic selection of world class beers in Bangor. The venue is beautiful and I believe will only get better. If you like quality beer or a well made classic cocktail you have to visit this place.

Great bar with what has to be THE BEST selection of beers in Bangor and surprisingly good eats. 16 Beers on tap, which change often. Staff is highly knowledgable, and helpful. Make sure to try to try the Olive tapenade. Highly recommended

Bangor has been waiting for someone to take the leap of faith in the community and provide a GOOD beer bar. Constantly changing taps. Knowledgeable staff. Good pub food...but really...that cannot be the only reason you are there. You are there for the beer and rightly so. Gene and his staff are fantastic and can either introduce you to quality brews or expand your horizons...and all with no pretentious attitude. Just outstanding.
