When I was a pup, asking for Root Beer and being given a Birch Beer was like giving me Fruity-O's when I specifically asked for Apple Jacks. Now, It's a welcome part of my life. Chicken Parm Sandwich, Chips, Pickle, Birch Beer.

The hostess was a dope. I asked her if it was quiet in the back and she said no. COMPLETE LIE! Way nicer back there. The young blond waitress was helpful and attentive, although a little too easy to confuse when our 9 year old niece was giving her order. The food was, well, what you would expect in a mall that is very close to getting the wrecking ball. I ordered a vegetarian thin crust pizza that was soft and waterlogged, not to mention void of good taste. The wife had a pasta dish that seemed to be covered in a heat-lamp haze. The kids had ravioli which, you guessed it, was right out of the can. Our friend had a sub that was all bread and no sub. Pass on this place. The waitress we had needs to quit and go work at Towson Diner.

My family and friends have been going to Italian Gardens for over ten years and I can tell you it is one of the best Italian restaurants in Maryland. The food is delicious, and the people and atmosphere is fantastic. No wonder it's rated as best Pizza in Baltimore by Baltimore magazine...

More than just a pizza place - a family friendly Italian restaurant that serves up what you expect from an Italian place. If you go to Kenilworth, you may only know this place as a pizza place, but it has a very nice section in the back with fish tanks and tvs - great for kids. I usually keep it simple and order pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. It's solid fare that will leave you full. I don't have alot of knowledge about the other menu items, though my husband likes the calzones. Try it! Note about the stars: it's 4 stars if you have kids. It's 3 if you're a foodie. The food is good, but if I was single and wanted tasty chow and was out on a date, this would not be my place. If you are not a foodie and just wanna eat out rather than cook, this is a great place and everyone should be happy.

My favorite pizza in Baltimore. It's great to grab a slice or sit down with a big group. Fast service, delicious birch beer, and its never too crowded.

I looooove their pizza! Definitely the best in the Towson area. They are also one of the few places that offers gnocchi, which is my favorite pasta dish. Their house salad leaves something to be desired. Also the complimentary bread is nothing special either. I usually order carry-out and the people who work up front have always been very nice. I've only sat in the dining room 2-3 times but I was happy with my service each time. I've never had a bad experience here. I would recommend it to anyone. The deep dish pepperoni is everything!!

Bland pizza. Decent portions to salad options. Nice staff. A safe family friendly option after seeing the holiday attractions in the mall.

Best pizza in Towson hands down. Best part is you can walk right up and a fresh slice any time. Their meatball subs are great too. Nice little hidden gem in Kennilworth Mall. Definitely check it out.

Food was mediocre, but OK place to take kids. Nothing seemed freshly made on site.

We have been going there for years. Last night was such a terrible experience. I felt I had to write a review...we will NEVER be back. The blonde hostess was extremely rude. She put us on the list, we waited for a few minutes and saw several other families seated ahead of us... after inquiring and abruptly being told that she guessed she had something for us we were ushered past a large booth to a smaller booth in the back. We were a group of three adults with two children. We asked if we could have the larger booth and were told that we could go back out and wait on "the list" for a different table or just..."see if you fit in the table we have ready for you" We had kids with us and although extremely rude we opted to squish into the booth than wait and have a kid melt down. The hostess talked to the waitress and the waitress came to the table with a huge chip on her shoulder... ordering a round of waters incited an eye roll... The meal devolved from there, bad service, worse food. We had to get up and ask for silverware, napkins, rolls and salad dressing. Today we have all been horribly ill with stomach issues. I'm sure a lot of people will want to see the train garden and then stop in for a bite. I urge you to skip Italian gardens. Their poor attitudes and service ruined our first holiday outing.

Fantastic pizza. Definitely one of our favorites. New York style is very thin with a doughy crust, not crispy. A while ago they changed their chicken tenders so we no longer get them. Too much breading for our tastes. They have a great lunch pizza deal, 2 slices and a drink for $5. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I think they are pricey , 16-17$ for a carryout plain cheese pizza is more than almost anywhere else. i know other people use their full menu and sit down inside but this place is pure carryout for us.

I went in today and had the greatest service by our server Cara. It was prompt, and everything came out hot and on time. My Marsala was delicious! I'll be returning very soon.

Best pizza in Baltimore, by far! Great food, fair prices, awesome service. Waitresses are always friendly and happy to accommodate requests.

Been coming here for years, mostly for the pizza. It's good for families or a casual meal. "Gardeners Special" pizza is our " go to". Full bar & TV's if you want to casually see what the O's are up to. Highly recommend it around Christmas time if you have kids so they can check out the train garden in the mall.

Best pizza I've found in the area, hands down. Most places are downright disgraceful, but this place gets it right.

I ordered from here for carry out & was VERY disappointed. My salad was OLD + only field greens -- not a traditional house salad. My pasta needed more sauce as it was dry. 1 piece of bread for 2 to share. I guess if you dined in the food would be better.

Plain cheese pizza is lacking to my taste ? but the pepperoni& sausage pizza here is tied for first in the traditional italian pizza's in the Balto. metro area . I had pasta here just okay, but most resturant pasta to me isn't worth the money compared to home made by my Italian god- mother's The location is off the beaten path in a litte mall that unless your going to JOS A Banks .or a lacross store you'd never go there .The Mall has a wonderful Christmas Train Village that is set up after Thanksgiving that will amaze small children and Toys R US adults

I always loved the take out pizza and decided to try the restaurant with a group of six. I have to say everyone loved their food, from the salads to the entrees and Had a great server named Steph. We will be back !

You can do Italian Gardens 3 ways: 1)You can order pizza to go. 2)Order your pizza or Italian specialties, then carry them and eat them in the Kenilworth food court. 3)Dine in the restaurant. They offer salads, sandwiches, pastas, chicken and seafood dishes and pizza. Pizza is what people come here for. You can get a NY style thin crust pizza or a Chicago style thick crust pizza. This has a big following in the Towson area. I have a friend who grew up on Italian Gardens and still returns to the area just for the pizza. I had to see what it was all about. We ordered a small (14 in) Gardeners pizza. It was topped with onions, peppers, mushrooms, spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni and cheese on a thin crust. It was tasty and even had a nice spicy bite. It was tasty and filling. The crust was thin, so I would like to go back and try something with less toppings. Overall, the service was pleasant and efficient. It was packed the night we came and I was impressed with how the servers were able to navigate the tightly packed tables. The food was good and I would give it a 3.5 stars.

Wow this place was busy. I think most cars in the mall parking lot were for this restaurant. I ordered two large pizzas (Traditional and White). To-go order took about 25 min (not bad for a busy place). Food was okay. My opinion is the price is on the high side for a large pizza. I would go back again but may opt for another pizza delivery place that offers a better price per pizza. 45 dollars for 2 pizzas shocked me.

Italian Gardens is our go-to place for takeout pizza. Try the bacon - the best! He whole family loves it!

Good..but not spectacular. Better than a chain mall-type place but it can be hit or miss. The Italian dishes are good but it really all depends on who happens to be in the kitchen when you sit down. Opt for the back dining area. It's away from the mall and little brighter than the front.

Bad service, obviously no manager on-site. Boneless wings dry and cool in the middle. Mozzarella sticks cheese not stretchy - more like school paste. Side of pizza sauce, room temperature. Pizza not bad but do carry-out so you don't take your own life waiting for your waitress.

This is my go to spot when I visit my fiancée at Towson University. The staff are very attentive and the owner is usually around to chit chat and check up on tables. The inside is very nicely decorated and there is enough room for families with kids or big groups. I usually get the Shrimp Parmigiana with a side of Caesar salad.. the tomato sauce is on point..My fiancee also swears by their cheese pizza which is made to perfection. The food is great and the atmosphere is awesome...what else can you ask for?

I'm not sure if it was just one flukey, horrible experience, or this place is always this bad. I seem to remember going here every once in a while as a kid and I can't imagine we would've returned if it was, so perhaps it's gone down hill in recent years. I still can't understand how a place could remain open if other people were having such horrible dining experiences as we had, though. It's pretty shocking. To be honest, the time I'm referring to was about a year ago, so I can't remember much about the service, only because the food was so overwhelming icky that that's just what stuck with me. The pizza was probably the worst pizza I've ever consumed. I mean, even bad pizza is still kind of good because it's pizza, right? Well, that didn't apply here. Soggy, disgusting, flavorless MESS. No one could get it down, so that's saying something. While we were sitting down, not enjoying our pizza or water (mine was in a really dirty cup), I thought I saw a mouse run across the floor. I remember thinking, "oh, maybe it was something else... I hope." I didn't think much of it at the time, or tried not to. But after reading all of the reviews which reference mice and rats, I'm thinking it probably was one. I still go to Kenilworth mall because it's a very low key mall with some great little stores, but I will never enter Italian Gardens again. Maybe to go to the bar, but NEVER to eat.

Pizza is a "Trigger" food; its nearly impossible to have just one bite. So I was baffled when I took one bite of pizza and my calorie conscience said "put it down--not worth it." Both the Vegetable Sicilian-style and Chicken and Spinach Pizza at Italian Gardens were bland and suffered a re-heated taste and texture. I moved onto my Tuscan Chicken Salad, which was also lacking any flavor and originality. The chicken was warm and tasty, but nothing else was memorable. At least its cheap eats???

Food was amazing. I love mozzeralla sticks and i eat them at every restaurant that serves them on their menu. This place definitely had one the best ones i have ever tasted. Service was great. Definitely will be back next time I am in Towson for work

Superb pizza!!! The best pizza in Towson area (other than Bertucci's).

It is the closest to real pizza I've been able to find in Maryland. If you are from NY or NJ and frustrated with the generally bad pizza in MD, this will make you happy without having to make a four hour drive north.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
