E W Beck’s Pub Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I recently had lunch here and I still say Beck's is definitely the best casual restaurant in Sykesville/Eldersburg. Their cheesesteaks are by far the best and more generous than most in the area. I couldn't decide what to order when our waiter mentioned their lunch special, a Mexican triple-decker pizza. I admit I was leery when the waiter gave me a description of the dish, but it was absolutely wonderful with the crunch of the corn tortillas and fresh lettuce, and the tasty ground beef and jalapeños upped the flavor. I still say this is better food than what any of the chain restaurants offer!

more food variety than your average bar. You'll love the crab cake sandwich is enough to take home for a second meal.

I love this place! It's a solid 30 minute drive to get here but it's worth it. The service is always great and they have a nice beer selection. The food can be a bit or miss.. I got the fajita wrap and it wasn't good.. My boyfriend got the local pork sandwich special and said it was bland and greasy.. If you go, I highly recommend the honey old bay wings... They're are AMAZING. Hands down the best wings I've ever had!

Great Menu and decent beer selection. Not big on the atmosphere but like the outside patio that has been added.

While I wasn't too crazy about their cream of crab soup or crab dip, the burger was great. Our bartender Ashley was kind, quick, and knew about craft beer. She recommended a few events coming up that my boyfriend and I might enjoy. She made the whole experience worthwhile.

Beck's has a tempting selection of exceptional pub food (the French Dip Panini is delicious), all of which can be complimented by a bounty of craft beers. When visiting Beck's, however, I cannot resist getting a plate of their Old Bay Wings. I absolutely, unequivocally and thoroughly enjoy this choice! If you like "dry" wings, and not just the messy, tongue cauterizing, sauce-laden kind; Beck's can prepare some of the plumpest, moistest Old Bay Wings available. In fact, since first having these wings in 2013, I've made it a point to try this particular style of wing as offered by several other local establishments. With no reservation, Beck's version remains the best. As Beck's attentive wait staff nears your table with a plate of these wings, the luscious aroma of Old Bay's cardamom and allspice piques the senses. Once in front of you, the visual impact primes the salivary glands. In the offing are eight meaty, golden brown specimens, enrobed with a savory, deep-fried crust, perfectly accented with Old Bay seasoning. Complimented by fries and a cold beer this meal could easily double for a little piece of Heaven. When it comes to preparing Old Bay wings E.W. Beck's has surpassed the Goldilocks Principal: They're beyond "just right," they're outstanding! Try them.

Becks is my favorite restaurant. The food is always great and not overpriced. The specials are worth trying and reasonably priced. Friendly service. Great beers on tap. Love how the menu changes seasonally. Crab soup is the best around and the crab cakes are huge without a lot of filling. Lots of TVs with sports on. The only reason not to give a five star rating is the noise level gets pretty high.

I typically love the food here, but my last experience was disappointing. I got the pulled pork with fig sauce and it was dry with very little flavor. Two people at my table got burgers that weren't cooked as requested, and the cheese wasn't even melted on them. The third person's steak wasn't cooked to order either. When the waiter set the food down, it looked unappetizing. Our waiter was friendly but you had to repeatedly tell him things multiple times, and he was slow to greet us. I will think twice before coming back here. What a shame.

Ive never been to a place where the manager feels thats its an inconvenience for a family of four to walk in for lunch. Absolutely rude. The place used to be a great bar and restaurant, but service and quality has gone to crap. Also, it smells like some drunk person died and they wiped the bar down with his people juice.

I went in during Sunday brunch and it was PACKED. That being said, service was unfortunately compromised from the volume. My waitress was apologetic and sweet, and I'm a softy when it comes to servers who bust their bums so I didn't let it affect my experience. Their mimosas were almost $6 a glass which was initially a turn off, but when they brought it out it was in a hearty draft glass so I was happy! I ordered the eggs benedict which honestly was cooked to perfection. Eggs benedict from other places tend to have undercooked poached eggs and have the dish swimming in hollandaise but they had the art of the dish down to perfection! Perfectly poached, a nice tablespoon of hollandaise on each English muffin with perfectly cooked ham. They also served it with potato hash which was prepared differently that I've ever had. The potatoes were cooked with onions and seasonings, but the potatoes were sliced like chips so some were soft and some were crispy. I loved it and didn't even need ketchup! I definitely will be returning to try more brunch items and also things from their lunch & dinner menus. It's very much like a pub inside so it's cozy and comfortable. I had a seat by the fireplace. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer here!

I would have given it a 5 if the burger I'd gotten had matched the description on the menu, specially since that was the only reason we went there tonight. We went so I could try the following burger: Angry Burger A Beck burger dipped in Ghost sauce (SPICY), then topped with house made scotch bonnet relish (VERY SPICY), capicola ham, chipotle mayonnaise, & pepperjack cheese I was excited, because I like heat with flavor. And the chipotle, the relish, the pepperjack - all together sounded like it would provide some great flavor to the burger. I asked for my burger without the bun. I asked they put lettuce above and below it so the relish and mayo would have place to sit. The burger arrived and it looked good. I cut off a piece of just the burger patty, because I expected it to be hot since it's supposed to be dipped in ghost pepper sauce. It wasn't dipped in anything. So, now I took every layer apart and looked for what was on it. There were 2 different sauces, one looked and tasted like it could be a chipotle mayo, and the other was a ghost pepper sauce. They both tasted very good. There was however nothing that looked like a relish. BUT, there were 4 halves of some pepper. Since they weren't mentioned on the menu, I asked our server who said she'd have to ask in the kitchen. Which, in itself is weird, considering this is a specialty item on their menu! She came back and told me that was the scotch bonnet pepper. Well, cutting 2 peppers in half and throwing it on top of my burger patty doesn't make it a relish. Overall, it was an ok burger. Without the chunks of pepper, the burger tasted pretty good. With the pepper chunks, it was too hot for any flavor to come through. But, I have to wonder if I even got the burger they usually serve and that's advertised on their menu.

The crab cakes here are mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price. I would have liked to try their breakfast sometime, but the real turnoff of this place is that the staff is extremely rude, unprofessional, and ignorant. This is one of the only places to eat in Sykesville so it is usually packed and there isn't a big parking lot. I wont go here again, there are much better places in Eldersburg.

Beck's is a restaurant/pub located on the Main Street of a tiny yet well preserved town known as Sykesville. Initial impression upon entering was that the dining room was chilly, and that the music (top 40) was too loud for a Saturday lunch scene. We had to raise our voices a bit to speak which is crazy for a weekend lunch in a tiny town. Beck's has amassed a respectable beer list with a focus on craft beers, and is clearly going for the gastropub vibe. The menu was extensive and seemed to meander across several genres. I was feeling experimental so I got the half and half- cream of crab layered on top of tomato-based crab soup. It worked for the most part but I wouldn't order it again. The service was good; maybe a little forced. I'm not sure what this place is like at night, but it makes for a decent lunch which could be much improved by making the dining area more diner-friendly.

Went with friends recently, ordered chicken wings & crab pretzel apps. Wings were small but tasty. Crab pretzel was just OK. No crab meat, just a ton of mayo & spices, very mushy. Pass on that. Cheesesteak sub was average...hardly any steak & the roll was way too big & fluffy. Too much bread. Get better sub rolls. Who serves fluffy rolls with a steak & cheese? I guess the idea is to give the impression you are getting a lot of food. Fries were just OK. A tad greasy. My opinion is the kitchen needs to step it up a little. Stop being average & make it good.

Fave place in E-burg/Sykesville. Wings are so so. Burgers are great, as is the bbq. Crab wontons and steamed shrimp are outstanding.

My girlfriend and I have come here a few times. We have never been disappointed. Their tapa's idea...eh..but the craft beer menu and the assortment more than makes up for it. Great place. we will definitely return again and again. the bar is small, but the outdoor area.. Nice!

This is the perfect location for a chill get together. I went for a friend's birthday dinner. I dig the underground, local scene. Not a fan of the Happy Hour specials ONLY applying to those dining in the bar area, but I'll let that slide because the craft beer selection was solid and the food is delicious.

Quite possibly the driest chicken sandwich I've ever had! Roll was stale.Asked for a new one.Was brought a cold dry one.Never asked how our food was.Husband got blackened crab and salmon.Said it was not very good.Used to come here all the time.Last 3 times food terrible.Never again..don't know if they changed chefs but they need to now.

I have to say...I really do love Becks. It's ALWAYS CROWDED...but I think that speaks to it's popularity and consistent quality. It's a little pricier than Chili's up the street, but it's real fresh food so it's worth it. I miss living in the Sykesville apartments and stumbling my way home from Becks :-)

Well I can definitely say I'm a fan of this place. Being that I live an hour away from this establishment and I have had 4 days in a row of interesting eating in Carroll County I saved this place for my last visit. We walked in and you could tell it was type of happy hour and the bar was packed. We were seated right away and our waitress was at our table within in seconds to get our drink order and explain the menu. We ordered the supreme nachos, steak salad and the Beck Burger (Double Cheese and Bacon). The nachos came out faster than expected and were better than we thought they would be. Our entrees were time perfectly with the completion of the nachos, obviously at the diligently observant waitress. The burger was delicious and the steak salad was out of this world. The steak was seasoned and cooked just right. As far as the other reviews go on the noise level or the lack of service here is my view. I tend to be very outgoing, forward and comical. Usually works in my benefit so maybe there is something I missed in the previous reviews but our service was on point. As far as the noise goes, well it's a pub. I wouldn't imagine going to a pub and being able to hear a pin drop. Not saying that on other nights it might not have been rowdy but this evening seemed like a cheerful crowd, welcoming staff as well as customers. The staff were resourceful, respectful and went above and beyond to answer my questions. Kudos to this business for bring the charm back in small business.

I just wanted to point out that I still love coming here. Now that its summer we take advantage of the weather and sit outside on their patio. The patio consists of just a handful of tables and 2 tvs but theres never a wait for outdoor seating. I am disappointed that the red sangria I raved about in my previous review isn't a year-round drink (the summer menu only has a pink sangria which isn't a standard simple sangria but rather a twist on one). Its okay though because I found a love for something else there...the house made pepper parmesan dressing. YUM! I can't eat store bought dressing anymore which the most recent waitress we had agreed with. The best part is...you can buy it to go! Score!

Way over priced in my opinion, got the crab cake... Alot of shells in this one, could have been better, have had better elsewhere, steak fatty, disappointed, expected better because I've heard good things, maybe should have just had a liquid dinner.

Scott Beck and staff have the beer pub business model perfected to a tee. Solid and sometimes imaginative food in a comfortable atmosphere that promotes free-flowing suds, which is the point of this neighborhood gem. During both lunch and dinner (the latter on weekends, particularly) the wait staff can get overrun and nevigating the crowded restaurant without tripping over chair legs can get to be a bit of the challenge. Opening an additional dining room a few years ago helps to a point, but the venue could really use additional square footage. The crowding issue is the only thing holding back a five-star rating.

Absolutely amazing food, wonderful bartenders, and great prices. This place is a local favorite that has delicious daily specials, and a menu that changes with the seasons. If you are a craft beer aficionado, than you won't find a place with a better selection within 30 miles. Great indoor atmosphere that features local entertainment like bands, musicians, and caricature artists; as well as an outdoor patio that is always lively when the weather gets warms. You have to try the honey old bay wet wings. They are so good, that you will never want to put another piece if chicken in your mouth. At the bar, they make many drinks with fresh squeezed fruit. Try and orange or grapefruit crush once the weather warms up!

Food was good but service was terrible. Appetizer salad order wasn't put in and brought with the main meal. Drinks were empty even after asking for refills. .. When I could see the teenage waitresses on her phone in the white tiled service area by the fireplace. Kids screaming and running by the hostess stand end of the room and stomping food on the carpet while the manager was ten feet away apologizing for bad service. Obviously these were regulars but still not accepted behavior. The attitude we got after getting our own drinks at the bar was enough to finish the experience.

Came for Carryout lunch on the recommendation of a friend. Bar/Carryout Service was meh. Reuben was greasy (like, dripped down my chin ewww). Fries were cold. No napkins!! Never asked if I'd like a drink. Not really all that impressed.

I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is yummy, especially the fish tacos and the Sesame Crusted Chicken Club, which is also very big. The atmosphere gets very noisy; it's not place to go if you want to have a quiet relaxing date night. They don't take reservations, at least for small parties, but you can call 30 min ahead of time and they'll put your name on the waiting list.

LOVE the crab cakes and salmon. The lobster potato salad was a bit disappointing (hardly any lobster chunks) but the rest of the meal made up for it. We had the fried asparagus and crab dip for appetizers which were delish! I can't wait to visit again and try more items on the menu.

I have been here twice. The first time was on a Sunday morning with my husband and my parents. The food was pretty good, the place was quiet, and despite a little lacking in customer service, the experience was pretty good. Average breakfast food. The second time I did not enjoy myself. I came here on a Friday evening around 6:30 which is I guess where I went wrong. I was here with my husband under the impression that we would have a little date night with some bar food and a few beers. Well, for what seemed like a little neighborhood joint it was insanely busy. We had to FIGHT our way through the restaurant to get to the waiter's. Then we had to wait out back with about 5 large families for about 30 minutes. When finally called we had to fight back across the restaurant to our table. It was so loud we could not even talk to each other. I understand that it's a pub, but the noise seemed to come from the children in the restaurant. I mean the whole restaurant was about half children. Children screaming, children running. We ate nachos that were below our expectations and I don't even remember what we had after that because I just couldn't wait to leave. So I guess if you're looking for a place to feed your kids - here's the place. If you're looking to have a date or just looking for any type of low-key dining experience - go elsewhere. Edit: I would like to know why the person who pictured the nachos on here described them as good. Even in the picture they are clearly all jalapenos (an inedible amount, in my opinion), lettuce, and tomato. The cheese and meat, which I believe should be the biggest ingredients to nachos, make up like 10% of the meal. Whatttt? And it was clear the cheese was melted onto the chips in the microwave (because that's how I make them at home) then the rest of the ingredients, which were super bland and cold, were scattered on top.

I was a bit disappointed on my last visit. I ordered the Kobe burger again and it was overcooked. I ordered medium rare and got a well done burger. My family and I love going to Becks. With a 2 year old, we are always looking for family friendly places that also have great food and drinks, and Beck's fits that to a t. Staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful - from bringing coloring books and high chairs, to rushing food orders for our small child. Food is great too - we love the new BBQ/smoked items they have added to the menu recently. I'm a fan of their salads - loaded with lots of different veggies, and my husband can't get enough of their Brisket Philly Cheese Steak. They occasionally have tater tots on the menu, and if you ask, they might bring you a place of those instead of the french fries! Portions are very generous. Beer selection is extensive, wine selection is smaller, but still decent. Haven't tried many of the cocktails, but they have a ginger one that is great. Music/noise can get loud, which is wonderful when you have a child who can get loud sometimes, but not so great if you are looking for a more intimate dining experience. If you are looking for a casual spot with good food and drink at reasonable prices, Beck's is your place!

If there was a "0" star option I would use that rating. DO NOT waste your time or money on their Sunday Brunch food. I never leave anything on my plate but sent more than half my cold, tasteless, greasy, overcooked plate of yuk back when the cleaner cleared our place-settings. I should have sent back the entire meal back upon receipt but did enjoy the eggs and coffee. LAST TIME FOR ME. Service was mediocre at best. Maybe the worst breakfast food I've ever not enjoyed at a restaurant.

Best crab cakes ever! Huge! I had to take them home for later because I was so full. Located in the heart of downtown, this place is a hit! Service was satisfactory, nothing over the top in this town sports pub. The server was nice but not over attentive, we had to chase him down for a few things. The prices are reasonable. The set up is confusing if you come in the back door with no signs to point you to the hostess stand. We sat in the bar area so it was loud because the games were on. It's a fun place to go for football, beer and crab cakes! I was a little sad they didn't have single glasses of moscato- told me I would have to buy the whole bottle! Nope, not a fan of that idea! I got a cocktail instead.

They have Bison Burgers from Gunpowder Bison! That's really all i should have to say for you to go and try it out. But if bison isn't what you're looking for they also have a variety of americana type dishes sure to appeal to anyone. You can also throw down a few bucks and play some Keno while you wait. Nice warm lighting that was low without being dark and the service was really great. I would recommend this little hideaway to anyone in the area.

I'm writing this review after living a 1/4 mile from E.W. Becks for 1.5 years and visiting the restaurant many times for dinner, lunch, and drinking/eating at the bar. This place is as good as it gets for one reason, there is no other restaurant in Sykesville that has a bar and casual dining. I see Baldwin Station as more of a formal dining establishment. Becks has a decent menu that is willing to add and modify its menu depending on the season. There are always great daily specials. I like the fact that the kitchen is willing to put different items out on the menu ranging from veal pasta dishes to breakfast burritos. The bar menu is fantastic and constantly changing. You will find Yuengling, Coors, and Bud along with a varying selection of Craft brews. There is a porch area which is great for summer evenings, and there is live music and beer specials on the weekend. It seems like the owners of EW Becks care. They are willing to try new things and evolve their business. I like the place. I have always had a good experience with every hostess, waiter, and bartender. I think its pricey at times, and would love to see a slight drop in price of the alcohol. But other than that, in regards to Sykesville, this is the place to go. Do it.

The outside of this building is very unassuming, but the food was ok. My cheesesteak was huge, which was nice. The place was packed, but there was no wait. We'll probably go back when we go pick up the bookcase we ordered across the street.

My husband and I have eaten dinner twice at Beck's. Well, I should say, each time we've gone there, only one of us has actually managed to eat the dinner put in front of us, while the other has sent their meal back and helped the spouse finish theirs. Last night it was my turn to send the meal back. I ordered the bourbon butter steak medallions and was presented with a plate of mashed potatoes, steak and broccoli DRENCHED in booze. Uncooked booze. Poured and oozing over everything on the plate, with the exception of the miniature apple pie (applesauce and crust). It was completely inedible. Professionally, I'm familiar with alcohol and preparations of such (safe ways and non-safe ways, cooked and poured) and I can assure you, there was no attempt to burn out the bourbon before serving. We asked our waitress (Tami, the shining moment of the meal... seriously, the young lady was helpful, informed and apologetic) and she went back to the back and confirmed with the kitchen that the bourbon butter had not been cooked in any way. I was eating "raw" bourbon. I'm pregnant. I've double-checked with my doctor about safe ways to cook with alcohol during my pregnancy (burn out the alcohol? yes; wine sauces or cognac sauces? yes beer can chicken? yes, straight bourbon? no) and that meal last night would have definitely been on the "no" list. Tami comped my meal, but E.W. Becks wasn't done. The other "special" moment of the meal came when the manager stopped by the table to find out what the problem was and promptly started arguing with us about the preparation. "We don't serve it like that." "We wouldn't be allowed to!" "You're tasting strong bourbon, not uncooked bourbon!" When I pointed out that Tami confirmed with the kitchen that there had been no attempt to cook out the bourbon and suggested a few ways that might be accomplished with a butter, he huffed off. No apology, no attempt to make it right. He argued, said his peace and walked away, leaving Tami to salvage the experience (she did, good job!) and us feeling belittled and (well, me) hungry, The food and the management definitely put the "ew" in E.W. Becks.

The best place to eat in the Sykesville/Eldersburg area by far. Ingredients are quality and no matter whether you order wings, a sandwich or a more upscale entree you will not be disappointed by the chef's creations. The only negative is the very small bar area.

I recently had lunch here and I still say Beck's is definitely the best casual restaurant in Sykesville/Eldersburg. Their cheesesteaks are by far the best and more generous than most in the area. I actually went here after searching for a place in Skykesville to eat. My first time on Main Street in Skykesville...cute...small town America. We had a party of 6....we had wings, french onion soup, Bookmaker salad, and amongst a few other things. The wings were excellent. I am a big wing fan, and pretty hard to please in this department. The Bookmaker Salad was not as good as Sabs in BMore, however it was pretty good. The menu was very vast, and had excellent choices. Some guy beside me was eating a burger on a pretzel, with onion rings in the middle...Oh My did that look good!!! That will be my choice next time definately! Might I add, it didn't hurt our waiter was some Tom Cruise look alike...in the Top Gun days....I couldn't help myself from leaving a good tip.. Overall...good pub...and I heard through the Tom Cruise grapevine, the Sunday brunch is a winner!

I eat at Beck's just about every Saturday. I'm a creature of habit when it comes to food but I have tried a lot of the dishes over time. By far the best hot Buffalo wings in the area. Also the best cream of crab soup anywhere. Loaded with crab meat with a hint of Sherry. Just delightful. I can also recommend the Maryland crab soup, the Kobe burger, the Chesapeake burger, the Colossal Crab Cake platter and blackened chicken fettuccini Alfredo with Old Bay seasoning. Enormous portions. You won't leave hungry.

We are going to become regulars here. The food is always good. Service has been excellent and they have a good selection of craft beer both on tap and in the bottle.

Great place to spend some time with friends. Good food. Suggest the black and white salad if you like steak. Crab cakes are above avg. not that much filler. App. Supreme Nacho is huge.

Great wings. Can get very noisy. Random draft beer selection. A little pricey on drinks. Skip rail drinks. Love the md crab soup. Above average food but not great. Nice local place

I miss this place! I loved sitting at the bar watching a game and eating. Depending on the night, the food can be excellent or just taste like typical pub fare. I liked that the menu changed seasonally--it helped keep things fresh. The crab cakes of course are amazing here. Sitting at the bar and enjoying a pitcher along with the nachos was fun and delicious. Sitting at a table for dining in, I enjoyed the salmon. The prices are reasonable. I liked the service from the staff--no ass kissing, but always quick with the food and drinks. Great atmosphere that can get loud on game nights or during happy hour, but what place doesn't during those times?

We frequent this place on a regular basis. It can get very crowded, so you may have a wait. The food is typical pub/bar food. They have tried some new items to change things up - some are a hit, some are a miss. If you live in the area, you will more than likely run into someone you know. We love the Old Bay Wings and crab dip. Both are purchased through their catering department for any parties that we have. The beer on tap is always cold and the variety changes on a regular basis. I love eating out on their new patio during the warm months. I also love their musical events on their patio during the warm months - but it does get a bit crowded because it isn't a big area.

The food was bar fare. Nothing special about any of it that I could see. The atmosphere was equally unimpressive. I felt uncomfortable not being a local. To make matters even worse was our forgetful waiter. He forgot parts of our orders to start. Then I repeatedly asked for a refill. After the third time asking and 15 minutes of waiting, I finally just grabbed my empty cup and held it up in the air until someone at the bar told the waiter he had better get us refills. I am sure they have an equally low opinion of me as I have of them. My rude behavior in an attempt to get a refill was quite simply... rude. However, after exhausting my polite techniques, I went for the blatant. Perhaps I should have spoken to the management. But at that point, I just wanted to quench my thirst and go home.

Beck's is one of those places, that when you can't think of anywhere else, you say "let's go to Beck's". This is because it has always been consistently good food, big portions, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Well..... apparently there have been some changes since my last visit. The menu was noticeably smaller and it seemed things were missing (stuffed flounder, hello?) We began with the crab dip, which has been a staple of our prior visits, and it didn't dissapoint except that it came with a small loaf of bread instead of the rolls we remembered. Between the two of us and 2 kids, we had to ask for add'l bread. The dip itself was hot, creamy and rich, and really yummy..... hard to top this for a substantial appetizer. My husband and I each had a salad that came with our entree. They were fresh and crisp, really nice salads. Unfortunately, they came before we were halfway thru the appetizer. And then, before we were a few bites into the salads, the entrees were served..... Grrrrrr..... My husband had chicken marsala --- I've never seen it served this way, almost Asian in a freeform style white bowl with a thick ramen-style noodle. He ate it, but I know he won't order it again. I had beef stroganoff ---- which was served over fettucine. It was okay, the beef was somewhat overdone and a few pieces were gristly. There was so much sauce that a rice or potato base would've made more sense than the pasta. The extra bread from the crab dip helped. The kids menu was big for a kids menu. One had mac-n-cheese and the other had mozzerella sticks. Standard kid fare, but substantial. Hard to say why I rate this meal a 3 vs. a 4 ---- it's one of those things you can't put your finger on. The semi-rushed, though genuinely friendly, service? The unexpected menu differences? I don't know. We'll certainly go to Beck's again, and overall I'd recommend it.

Beck's is a friendly little neighborhood pub in Sykesville, Carroll County, Maryland. The atmosphere is about a hundred times better after they banished smoking, since the eating areas were right next to the bar and there was no way to avoid the heavy fog of smoke. Selection of beers is good, but not great, and includes local favorite Backfin, from the Clay Pipe Brewery in Westminster/Frederick. Food is solid; it won't win awards, but it tastes good, arrives quickly, and isn't expensive. Typical bar food: burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, etc. Friendly but not overfriendly service. Great location, right on main street. Strangely, there are ALWAYS a lot of nice/classic cars out front. Last time I was there, there was a sky blue Dodge Viper. Other times I've seen classic 60s corvettes, Saleen Mustangs, custom bikes, convertible Cadillacs, Porsches, you name it. No idea what's going on with that. All in all, a good local pub to get a beer and a burger.

Becks is definitely the cornerstone of crappy little Sykesville, and pretty much the only place in this "town" where you can find human interaction. In any other city this place may not have shined, but it was definitely the highlight of my Sykesville experience. The wings were fabulous...we had a buffalo/old bay hybrid sauce that was tasty. Their menu is better than your average bar. I would say I'd be back but i doubt I will be back in Sykesville anytime soon.

We love this place. Great crab cakes, and I crave their Philly cheese steak all the time. The fried Asparagus appetizer is delicious. And so is the crab dip. And I am picky about sea food! Great pub food, generous portions, and I wish it was closer to us, I would go at least once a week with the kids.

Beck's has some good pub food. I would return again. I had the Calamari which was very crisp and good. I also tried the Beck's burger which was a good burger. I always ask the server what the best food in the house is and sometime they come up with something wonderful and sometimes they don't. In this case they didn't have any really great suggestions other then the crab cakes. Overall I had a good time. Food is a 3 Atmosphere is a 3.5 - family orientated pub Staff is a 3.5 -- nice but vanished for a while.

Becks is good if you want some nachos or burger and a beer, but it is not fine dining by any stretch. Don't order the following: Baby back ribs - they boil them and dip then in BBQ sauce - the worst I've ever had. Salads - poor quality lettuce Mixed drinks The following are good:: Beer- good selection Burgers Crab cakes

If you just want a beer and bar food, Beck's fits that bill. If you actually want a nice dinner (something equal to or better than what you can cook at home), this isn't where you want to end up. Last night I ordered the salmon and crab cake, which each tasted like it packed a week's worth of sodium, making both impossible to finish. The tepid mashed potatoes and microwaved broccoli (birdseye steam-fresh, perhaps?) were the most enjoyable part of the meal. A few weeks ago, I ordered the New York strip steak sandwich, medium-rare. I ended up with a well-done steak slapped onto two slices of what appeared to be toasted wonder bread. Seriously? Even if the steak had been cooked properly, what genius decided sending it out in crappy toast was a good idea? There are many more disappointing meals at Beck's that I could include, but I don't want this to turn into a rant. I keep going back due to the simple fact that the restaurant is less than a mile from my house and family and friends always end up suggesting it. Final thoughts: good place for a drink, the service is consistently great, and the food becoming consistently terrible. Hopefully someone from Beck's will read this and retrain their cooks.

I've ended up here more than once while out riding on a Sunday. Seems to make a perfect pit stop. Good location, good food, good pub-style menu selection and a friendly atmosphere. I can only vouch for the lunch/pub food items but from the menu it looks like they offer a pretty good dinner selection as well. I usually go for a burger and have never been let down. My chicken cheesesteak was pretty good too. The crabcake wasn't horrible but I wouldn't recommend it.

This place is one of my favorite places to go to in Sykesville. Their crab cake is truly a CRAB cake... meaning it is FILLED with legit crabmeat with very little breading. Besides their crab cakes, their salmon salads, turkey club sandwich, and breakfast burrito are great as well. They also have a huge assortment of drinks and are reasonably priced. The Crabbie's Ginger beer, for instance, was only $5 and if you haven't tried one, you should definitely buy one (It's a blend of ginger ale and beer). They are very prompt in getting your food ready, on average 10 minutes. There are TVs everywhere in this place, although I've never been there on an NFL Sunday, I'm sure their staff will be nice enough to turn on your favorite team's game on. One drawback about this place is their chicken noodle soup. They would explain to you how it is one of the most delicious soups in their restaurant, but it's mediocre at best, plus it's over-salted.

I come to Becks every time I come to sykesville to visit family. The service is always great and I have never had a bad meal. My personal favorite is the Chicken Feehan, a spicy chicken and crab dish. They also have a seasonal menu so there is always a selection of new things to try. If you love craft beers, this is the place to go for a large variety. Overall, it's a great quality and friendly restaurant definitely worth trying.

While I wasn't too crazy about their cream of crab soup or crab dip, the burger was great. Our bartender Ashley was kind, quick, and knew about craft beer. She recommended a few events coming up that my boyfriend and I might enjoy. She made the whole experience worthwhile.

I have been to Beck's about twenty times. The food is consistently good. The portions are very nice. I had one or two sub-par experiences like once my prime rib was all fat (replaced immediately and manager came over and apologized) and twice family members received warm not hot food. Overall though every other time was very good. The atmosphere is nice. Flat screens with sports all over the place. Bar in the middle. Brightly lit in the center of the restaurant. Lots of families. Bistro steak salad and Cheeseburgers are my favorites. Wings are big. Try Becks. The parking lot is always full - that should tell you something.

Where do I start? I've been enjoying this wonderful little pub since the mid-1990s. This place has it all. Excellent service, amazing food, a rotating menu, and a great, dynamic, craft beer selection are all hallmarks of Beck's. First the food. Generous portions of delicious fresh food coupled with decent prices with a "not your everyday pub" flavor. The crab cakes are notable for their size and meatiness. Excellent old bay chicken wings. Seasonal menus and eclectic Thursday night tapas always keep you wanting more. For the craft beer lover, enjoy 12 taps and 20 bottles that rotate constantly. GM Dan "The Man" Feehan knows his stuff. Keep an eye out for tap takeovers from local brewers and the occasional one of a kind firkin. The beer is always ice cold. The place gets busy almost every night but once you are seated you would not know it. Steady service and consistent food makes it all worth the wait. Keeping the machine running is a strong kitchen and some of the hardest working bartenders you will ever find. Lot's of flat screen TVs make it a great place to watch the big game (though NFL Sunday ticket would be nice). The outdoor patio even has two televisions. Are you a gambler? Several Keno TVs let you try your luck. A few more of these would be nice too. One thing I would try to correct is that the busy takeout service is handled at the bar and orders tend to sit on the crowded bar and the busy bartenders have to handle the food pickup. Takeout should be moved to either the hostess station or elsewhere. This not a slight in the least. Just a suggestion. This place has it all. Come to Beck's and feel like you are home.

THIS IS A FIVE STAR ! All of these people saying how good then clicking four stars. Jesus people, it is better than any other bar in the area for the money.

I mentioned it to the waitress so that she could relay the message to the cook. I ate it anyway. It was ok but, not near as good as the last time I got it
