Very cool staff that makes working hard look easy :) The wings were everything a wing should be, super crispy and smothered in whichever flavorful sauce or spice blend you desire, nice chunky blue cheese too. The pizza had a nice crispy light chewy and crispy crust that olive oil or butter must be in it or brushed on it. I wish that I had tried a regular pizza in addition to the Big Mack (cheeseburger with French fries pizza) so I could more adequately grade the pizza lol but we had just came from completing the Sea Gull Century and wanted to pig out lol.

Cool, kinda grungy vibe to the place inside that I'd expect to see in Portland or somewhere like that. They were playing XM Classic Vinyl. Good selection of craft beer, good menu options. Asian sesame wings are delicious! I'm usually not a fan of white sauce pizzas, but I thought I'd try the crab pizza. It was excellent, and they even put Old Bay on it, but it took forever. What'd they do, have to go catch the crabs? Italian pizza was drowning in grease and didn't taste very good. A bit hard to find, too, I've been by it a lot and never went there until someone suggested it for lunch one day. I'd go back, just never if I'm in a hurry, and I'd know what to get and what not to get. Quiet and more family friendly for lunch, but I hear it's the typical college bar on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night.

Got 2 takeout pizzas tonight,Italian and Greek. Italian was fine. Greek-usually one of my favorites- was a huge disappointment. Too much white sauce. A few artichoke leaves, no noticeable feta and a ton of black olives(as though that made up for the lack of other toppings!) sigh..truly a letdown. For 12.99 I think I should be able to expect a reliable pizza.

Some of the best wings I have ever had. Always cooked up nice and crisp. The pizza is fantastic. My only complaint is sometimes the to go pizza is inconsistent. It's never bad but sometimes a little skimpy on the cheese and toppings. They will give the kids some dough to play with in the restaurant. Good place highly recommended.

Reason for not being 5 stars was how long it took for food to arrive. It was about a half hour from ordering. I've had worse waits but it's worth noting since it was a Thursday night and wasn't crowded. The food was delicious and the pizza's are one of a kind. My girlfriend and I had all but decided we were going back before our pizzas even arrived because there was more on the menu that we knew we wanted to try. The drink selection is as varied as the pizza. I definitely recommend eating here.

I almost didn't eat at Specific Gravity, but I'm glad I did. After some nightmare parking (their lot is TINY, and not too fun to maneuver into off the road), I walked in and got totally ignored by the waitstaff for a good three or four minutes. I was on the verge of turning and leaving when a server walked up and explained that you should seat yourself at a table or the bar and they'd come around to see you. (A sign stating this, either near the door or on the large chalkboards announcing the specials, would be a really good idea.) Once seated, my server brought over a menu and let me know it was half off drafts of all their EVO brews, which is a pretty good way to get me back into a good mood. They also gave me a choice of 8 free wings or a free appetizer when I showed them my room key from the nearby Hampton Inn where I was staying, so keep that in mind if you're coming in from out of town. I ended up trying the raspberry lime chipotle wings - tasty, but more sweet than heat. They paired well with the EVO Lucky 7 Porter. My main course was a Black and Bleu steak burger, which I ate with an Exile ESB. I decided to finish up with a dessert "Brownie pizza", but it turned out to be mostly just a brownie with whipped cream and some vanilla ice cream. I kind of wish I'd gone with the house made donuts instead, but it was still pretty good - just not anything special.

Wow. amazingly good pizza. on our way back from Assateague Beach and we were very hungry. This pizza fueled one of the fastest bike rides I've ever had. Delicious pizza, great service, cool atmosphere (in Salisbury?!?!) I wish this place was in NoVa.

One of the best casual dining experiences on the shore. Long wooden "high-top" tables take up most of the space. There are also regular tables and a bar. Couple TV's here and there. A nice bottle shop is attached. The ambiance is lively, loud, and fun. Not the place for a quiet dinner. Go to one of the Knorr's other restaurants for that (think Sobo's, Public House, Boonies). As mentioned, this is one of the Knorr brothers restaurants, and it is just as superb as their others. "Specific" specializes in gourmet pizzas, wings, and other delicious items. I've tried most all of their pizzas, and in my opinion the Black and Bleu is by far the best (sirlion steak, caramelized onions, bleu cheese, mozzarella). They might have the best crust in Salisbury. The wings are just as superb. Get the Key Largo, Whitehaven, or one of their speciality wings (check the chalkboards). The restaurant is a vertically integrated leg of their brewing company, Evolution Craft Brewing, which is right down the street. Their "mainline" of beers is always fresh on tap, along with numerous other delicious craft beers from all over the country. I really don't have any negative experiences with this place. Sometimes service can get a little slow, but that's only during peak times and isn't anything to really complain about.

My parents suggested Specifc Gravity one night the last time I was home visiting. I was a little skeptical at first - a gastropub type establishment in Salisbury serving pizza? A little different than what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. It certainly has a different feel to it since there is a beer/wine shop also in the door. And it's in the same building where I went to kindergarten! Hah! I graduated kindergarten and came to the back building for booze and pizza. But I digress.... The pizza was actually quite delicious. The crust is a little thicker than what I expected but the dough was quite tasty. I had a white pizza with chicken and garlic. The garlic was borderline way overwhelming (I couldn't speak to anyone on the plane ride home back to Boston as my breath was quite garlic-fied). My parents split a regular cheese pizza. I polished off my small pizza and even had a slice of theirs. Quite delicious. The service was just okay as our server felt a little lost; yet still very nice. The tables were set up in quite a manner that you had to share a table with others, but it was a fun crowd and not all college students (oh god, when did I start considering college students "kids"?). I had two EVO beers and at that instant, I was impressed. It looked like it could be a fun place, although I found the interior to be a little dark and almost uninviting. Will definitely be back.

This is perhaps the best that Salisbury has to offer in the way of eateries unless perhaps you are looking or intimate romantic dining. It has a great design for social dining - long tables that encourages interactions but not an obnoxious bar scene (even if a bar.) Nice diverse crowd and really very good pizza...and I am not a big pizza person. The last pizza I had was the Greek pizza (not tomato sauce) and was delicious. I like that they do one thing and do it well and don't try to be something they are not.

Welp, I have always wanted to start writing Yelp reviews and this place finally pushed me over the edge.... Specific Gravity is fantastic. We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon not expecting too much. Now I believe - perhaps naively - that I know my way around pizza. I like to think I've had the very best: be it from Naples to Sicily; New York to Chicago. The pizza at Specific Gravity is not only the best I've found in Maryland, its the best I've had in a long time. On our visit we ordered the daily special: pesto, tomato and ricotta cheese pizza. It ruled. The pesto was fresh, popping with chunks of basil, and adequately coated over the pizza. The ricotta cheese was bountiful and gooey like a lasagna, without being overpowering. Yet, as we all know, the crust is the most important part of any pie, and this one did not disappoint. It was thin, bubbly, and crispy with a nice golden coat of olive oil that reminded me of the neopolitans from Naples (though lacking the slightly burnt edges from the wood-fired ovens). The crust was crispy all the way through, despite the slightly liquidy pesto sauce. It was excellent. As an app we ordered the wings special: Peanut butter and jelly. It was surprisingly good. The wings themselves were great: crispy on the outside without being dry on the inside. The PB&J sauce reminded me of a thai noodle dish, with the jelly kicking in a sweet, familiar flavor. They were really good and made me wonder why I haven't had - or seen - them before somewhere else. Specific Gravity has a number of craft beers on tap, mostly from EVO which is a local Salisbury brewery. Our waitress was pretty knowledgeable about what was on tap, and if you like what you order you can bring some home with you since there is a bottle shop conveniently located inside. Overall the biggest problem I have with Specific Gravity is that I do not live closer to it. I wish I could stop by here every couple of weeks. The food is great, the prices reasonable (~$14 for a large pizza), and it seems to offer a variety of decent specials. As others have noted, the seating options tend to be communal (long, open tables and flowing bars) and not that plentiful. I was there on a quiet Tuesday, but I can definitely see it becoming packed on a Friday night. If you're a large group or looking for a quiet dinner, this is probably not the place to go on the weekend. But if it was good enough to make me write my first Yelp review, than I highly recommend you check it out.

Wings were amazing and the pizzas were also very good. Ordered the buffalo chicken and black and Bleu pizzas.

After having a couple at Evolution Brewing Company we had some time to kill so we cruised over to Specific Gravity for some wings, pizza and another pint. the Selection of Beer is very good with no crap on tap and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. I took a stroll around the bottle shop which is connected to the Pizzaria which had a very decent selection of Brews including Lagunitas, Stone, Brooklyn, Evolution, Dogfish head and many others. Our service was very friendly and quick which was exactly what we needed and the Black and Blue pizza was served hot. The steak was so tender and the blue cheese was mild and tasty w/ a nice addition of onion. The wings were cooked well and the Honey Chipotle sauce was sweet with a minimal amount of heat. I would come back based on the beer selection alone, but the food and service were what sealed the deal.

Friendly staff, great wings and pizza. Try the roasted chicken and garlic pizza! This place is small so I'm sure it gets crowded on the weekends

I love beer, therefore I love Specific Gravity. This pub is built around high quality craft beer. Owned and operated by the proprietors of SoBo's Wine Beerstro, Boonies, The Red Roost and Evolution Craft Brewing Company, the pub is a welcome addition to Salisbury. The atmosphere is casual with an emphasis on community. The main seating is in the form of 3 very long, bar height tables that seat 20 or so patrons each. It reminds me of many pubs in Europe, Germany in particular, where you sit at the same table with strangers who become new friends in short order. The pub food is great and strange combinations bring a new dimension to this ubiquitous cuisine. If you've never had French Fries or entire cloves of garlic on a pizza, keep an open mind and try one of their many interesting pizzas. And you have to start your meal out with the Whitehaven wings. Named for the small village of Whitehaven, Maryland and the home of one of the Knorr's other restaurants, The Red Roost, you'll want to make a meal out of them. I think it's a proprietary recipe of spices but Old Bay is definitely the dominant taste. The food is great, but the beer is the most important asset of this pub. You can tell this by the technical knowledge of beer that each bartender has. They'll use words like specific gravity and International Bitterness Units (IBU's). There is far more to craft brewing than most people realize and these folks no what they are talking about. And they should know, since the spotlight beer here, is Evolution, or Evo as many of us lovingly call it. Yep, the Knorr's own their very own brewery that is all the rage these days. The beer is so popular, the brewery, located in Delmar, Delaware, literally can't make the stuff fast enough. Forget about pub crawling. You can sit at Specific Gravity all night and "crawl" your way through the beers they have on tap and have a real adventure.

Good pizza, decent wings, and local Delaware beers. Free wine and beer tastings in the adjoining wine/beer store. The hostess told us to find a space on the large communal tables, but she also kept an eye out on our behalf. Didn't have to wait more than five minutes on a packed night, although we didn't realize how loud it was until we left. Had it been a few degrees warmer, we probably would have been hanging outside on the patio. It's hidden behind the Asian place if you can't see it from the corner.

  • Chris N.

The food is decent once you actually get it. I've been here 3 times and every time the service was incredibly slow. If you sit on the patio they take an ID or credit card for collateral, probably because so many people get tired of waiting for the food. 40 min for a salad?!! Come on. Pizza is nothing special. The only time I might actually consider coming back here is for a beer and with the EVO tap room open now down the street I may never be back.

We excitedly visited this place after reading about it in "Go Magazine". This is the newest establishment opened by the brothers who own SoBo's, Boonies, Red Roost, and EVO Brewery. First the beer: They feature 10-12 craft brews on tap including, of course, their EVO beers. The non-EVO beers appear to be rotated every now and then. The beers are listed on a chalkboard each with their individual alcohol content and IBU (International Bitterness Units). My fiance informed me that alcohol content in a drink is determined via its specific gravity, hence the name of the restaurant! Now the pizza: Nothing short of yummy! Thin and chewy crust with creative toppings. Their white veggie pizza had asparagus on it! Any of the pizzas can be made with whole wheat crust (I was SOOO excited about this, because we prefer whole grain everything), or made as a white pizza. We also sampled the caprese salad *yum*, and wings (good, but pricey). The service is great. The atmosphere is "bar-ry" with high seats and plasma screens to watch the games. My main complaint is the same as for SoBo's... it's too loud in there. We've been there when they only have a handful of people, and my fiance and I had to almost shout at each other. Another tidbit -- they will be opening a bottle shop adjacent to and part of the restaurant soon!

Loved it! What a hidden gem. Great pizza, good bear, kind service, and super welcoming to the many seagull century riders. The only downsize, they tried to correct my pronunciation of a German beer. Little tip- trust the native speaker.

I'm a big fan. I enjoy a handful of the EVO beers and I'm always pleased with the food. Staff is super friendly and all seem experienced. They just opened up a really nice bottleshop with some fine wines and good beer to go. Grab a slice and a pint of the lucky #7 and you'll most likely go back to do it again.

For Salisbury, it gets four stars. The food is good. The beer choices are very good. Nice casual atmosphere, although it can be noisy with the high ceilings. The happy hour specials and nightly specials are really good. This is probably my favorite place in SBY.

I'm a very big fan of EVO beers and this is the place to go to get them on tap and with food. I think in some areas it's a little pricey but the pizza we had was very good. Writing this review makes me want to go back now.

    LOVE the wings!!!!

Friendly staff. Long table seating kind of " forces" you to mingle, which is nice in my opinion. That's why you go to a bar right? Gets three stars because the food is good but not great, and a bit overpriced for what it is.

Fantastic little restaurant. The pizza is top notch, as are the microbrews. I recommend their cheeseburger pizza which stacks mounds of french fries on top of the pizza. Elegant, this place is not. A great place to have a beer/pizza and watch the game with friends, this place is.

Went in for lunch one day while I was at home visiting for Thanksgiving. There were only a few other people in there so we were told to sit wherever we wanted and chose a spot at one of the high tables. I immediately said we should order some Key Largo wings because they are delicious. I love the honey mustard dressing. My boyfriend was not disappointed either. The wings are flavored so well. We also split a standard cheese pizza. Yummy on all accounts. Pizza here obviously isn't as cheap as Little Caesar's but it's a nice option in Salisbury for some "fancy pizza". The boyfriend ordered a beer and they had Dogfish Hellhound on tap. It seemed that half of the beer menu board was out, as our waitress told us about 5 different things than what was on there. We were surprised to see that the beer was $8 for a pint. Not a big deal since it's a great beer, but it would have been nice to see/know how much it cost before we ordered it. Maybe changing the beer board every morning before opening? I love Specific Gravity. It's a great place to grab a bite and they do lots of fun specials during the week. Between build your own pizza night and pint nights they have fun ideas to keep customers coming back. I know I try to stop by at least once every time I come home!

I hate beer. So this is probably NOT the place for me BUT... I have come here several times on my lunch hour ( so I shouldn't have beer anyway) and have discovered the most excellent pizzas EVER. They have quite a selection of different pizzas, for example: a shrimp scampi pizza, a cheeseburger with French fries pizza, one with crab.... Wow. The crust is excellent. The only thing that keeps me from giving a higher star is that they are consistently understaffed at the lunch hour. When you've only got an hour you can't have your waitress vanish for 10 mins while you wait to pay up. I took my hubby here ( he loves beer) and he loved his cheeseburger pizza with green peppers and French fries and lots of other gooey stuff on top. He can write is own review though.

The first time we came here we came with our kids and it was a little scary. The place isn't really family-friendly because it's laid out like a German beer garden. There are three long tables in the middle of the room and guests sit next to each other at these tables. However the waitstaff/managers are extremely friendly and helpful in helping determine selections if you're not sure what you're looking for. The price seems a little bit high but the food is excellent. We highly recommend the black and blue pizza and chicken wings. Be careful when ordering some of the local brews. The one I got was over 8% alcohol by volume and it left me feeling a little woozy even after one, But it was gorgeous and tasty. My wife isn't usually much of a drinker but she had the blackberry, peach, mint mojito and loved it. The college-aged bar crowd seems to come around about 7 o'clock at night and the noise level tends to go up from there. All in all we had a great experience and we can't wait to go back. We definitely want to try some of their other pizzas. The general Tso's pizza, the big Mac pizza and cheeseburger pizza sound intriguing.

Great Restaurant in Salisbury MD. If you enjoy flavorful beer, like Dogfish head and Sierra Neveda, you will really enjoy the EVO beers here. The Key Largo wings are flavored like jerk chicken and heavon. The pizzas I've tried were delicous, with the crusts being crispy and just the right amount of toppings. Seating is a little odd, it's no place for a romantic date but great for a couple of friends eating dinner or getting together for drinks.

  • Jennifer R.

Great beer selection featuring local brew (EVO), very good pizza! The only downside was that our service was slooooow. We didn't see much of our server once she brought our pizza out. (Roasted garlic chicken pizza.... phenomenal!) She came to clear our table when we were done, but then she apparently forgot about us (although we watched her walk by us many times.) We waited at least 20 minutes to get our bill after she cleared our table, and my husband had to specifically ask for it. There were several empty tables too, so it wasn't like they were super busy. Overall, great value, great food and drinks... just don't go there if you're on a time limit.

This is my second review for Specific Gravity. Since our first visit, SG has quickly become a favorite for my husband and me and we've been there at least one day a week for the past few weeks. We've been picking our way through the menu, testing out all the specialty pies and desserts, so I thought I'd weigh in on those. The Crab pizza (we ordered a small) is not bad, with lump crab meat, red pepper and asparagus and sprinkled with Old Bay. The primary flavor is the Old Bay, which is sprinkled heavily over the top of the pizza. Not as good as the Shrimp Scampi pizza, but not bad. The Black and Bleu pizza (we ordered a small) is a red-sauce pie topped with very tender medium blackened steak and crumbled bleu cheese. The steak is absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth. I'm not a huge fan of bleu cheese, though, and that ruined it for me a bit. Fans of bleu cheese would probably love this, though. Husband and his buddies ordered a large cheese pizza topped with the blackened steak at our last visit. Unlike the small sized Black and Bleu which had quite a bit of steak on it, the large pizza had very little steak on it and the guys actually fought over who would get a slice with the most steak on it. Kind of disappointing. Husband and a friend also shared the Maikai, which is Specific's take on the Hawaiian pizza. They both proclaimed that it was absolutely delicious. We also gave the Whitehaven wings a try. These are jumbo chicken wings fried in oil and then coated in Old Bay seasoning. I'm not usually a wing-eater, but I thought they were great. The skin is very very crispy and the seasoning is zippy and tasty, although a bit salty if you're going to eat a lot of them. Lastly, we've now tried both of Specific's desserts. The Brownie Pizza isn't actually a pizza. It's a large very soft in the middle, crisp on the bottom brownie smothered in gobs of whip cream, and topped with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with fudge. The Brownie Pizza is TO DIE FOR if you're a chocolate lover. Definitely large enough to split between two or more people, though chocolate lovers might not want to share. The Apple Dessert Pizza was only so so. They use a "sweet dough" for the pizza crust, but the the dough really wasn't that sweet or flavorful. The apple topping looks and tastes like canned apple pie filling and there really just isn't enough apple topping to balance out the very doughy, chewy crust. The whole thing has a big scoop of icecream slapped in the middle, making it difficult and messy to pull out slices of the pizza. I think this dessert could be improved greatly with the addition of a brown sugar/cinnamon crumb topping to liven up the kind of boring crust. Maybe some drizzled caramel sauce would help as well. I'm not a drinker, but Husband has been trying out all their various craft beers and we always visit the bottle shop before leaving. My main complaint about Specific Gravity has to do with the seating and noise. The tall bar stools have gotten pretty beat up since their opening and many of them are missing their front bars, leaving no place for you to perch your feet. For a shorty like me, this means letting your legs dangle until they fall asleep. The lower tables have very very uncomfortable basket-weave style seats. Also, the place can get very loud due to the walls being covered with metal sheeting. Our last visit was during a big football game and we had to shout to hear each other across the table.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
