Crab dip app. Get it. Do it. It is awesome. Great little waterfront place to grab a bite for a chill lunch. The sandwichs were large and mostly in charge. I enjoyed the signature jerk chicken but probably wouldn't get it next time. If you like jerk, or happen to BE a jerk....then you will thoroughly enjoy the jerk chicken. Jerk it.

A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!! Traveling through the eastern shore of Maryland and decided to stop in Salisbury for lunch, figuring there has to be something good in a "big city"... Well after driving past many many ordinary places, I found nothing. Had to stop and call for YELP!!! Looked at the menu for market street in and it looked great! I was very pleased and it turns out I made a good choice. Ordered the jambalaya and the jerk chicken. The jambalaya was chunky with all of the good stuff and chunky and just the right amount of rice in there. It was quite spicey but that is the way I like it. The jerk chicken was absolutely perfect! Great portion size and moist and tender. The honey mustard sauce on the side was a great compliment and it looked homemade. The chicken had just a hint of spiciness and the sweet honey mustard sweetened it perfectly. I go to a lot of restaurants and if it's bad I don't feel compelled to write about them. This place was a refreshing change of pace... Outdoor dining, great food and classic rock tunes on the patio. And they have ducks walking around to hang out with. Overall awesome!

I stopped here for a quick lunch between appointments on a weekday and had a very average lunch experience at a fairly average lunch spot. I had a greens salad with jerk chicken. The chicken was tender and spiced well, and the honey mustard they serve with it was quite good. My server was really great, he stopped by just enough without being overly solicitous. I give it three stars because as an out-of-towner, I'd really expect the parking situation to be more clearly labeled. This stop was almost a bust because I could only find permit parking and metered parking - nothing set aside for restaurant patrons. I normally keep a stash of quarters, but the unexpected monster tolls on the bay bridge emptied my pockets. I hope this place gives the parking some thought.

Market Street is back! Went to dinner Sat night and I am so happy that they are back where I remember them! Stopped in with my bf and best friend for a nice dinner. The bf had never been so I was excited! It was dinner time so they were moderately busy, but that didn't have any impact on our meal. We were seated quickly! Drinks came quickly and the server was incredibly patient while we decided on our entrees. I ordered the pork which was perfect! My bf ordered the same and my best friend ordered the scallops and said they were good but not great! The atmosphere was quiet and we were able to have a slow meal. We chatted and weren't rushed out! It was great! Love love love this place. After dinner we walked next door to the bar side where we had a few drinks. We left just before the live music started. Great place!

Wandered in for a late lunch. Great deck overlooking the 'river.' I had a grilled portobello salad smothered in crab meat. Mike had the Cobb Salad with grilled chicken. Both were very good. They have an allergen menu that shows the ingredients for everything on the menu. The really outstanding things about this place are their customer service and their connection to the community. Tomorrow is their final Wednesday Yappy (not misspelled) Hour. Every Wed night in the summer patrons can bring their dogs and if they order their pup a meal from the doggie menu, 50% of the proceeds go to the local Humane Society. Tomorrow 100% of the doggie menu proceeds go to the Humane Society. There is music every evening. Also, as long as the deck is open, you can bring your dog anytime and order from the doggie menu. Many local hotels have 15% off coupons, so don't forget to ask at the desk. I almost forgot to mention their extensive wine and martini menu. The locals say it is the best place in Salisbury for a martini.

The food was good (if they can manage to cook it right..), and the atmosphere was great, but the service was horrendous. Our waiter was rude, inattentive, and snippy. We asked for a gluten free menu (which is poorly done in itself) and he never gave it to us, we had to get up and go ask for one again. My sister got a Stella cider, but didn't get a glass and had to ask for one, and then received the wrong kind of glass. Then our food took ages to be served: an hour and a half before we got our entrées. My mother asked for medium-well steak and got it very rare. Furthermore, our water refills began to taste like water-downed ginger ale for an unexplained reason. My family tried to take my mother out for a nice Mother's Day dinner and Market Street Inn did not deliver. Certainly would not recommend, unless you have the patience of Rory Williams.

I rarely give out 5 star reviews, a restaurant really needs to impress me before I even consider it. Market Street surpassed all my expectations and then some! I used to come here in college and we enjoyed the car bombs and later the martinis. This was my first time in the restaurant and I loved it!!! Starting off with the $17 bottle of chardonnay on special that was amazing. Be sure to get the NY strip with the peppercorn demi glaze!!! You will be very happy, I was dancing in my seat. The coconut shrimp was also incredible (I hate seafood and I was about to eat them all). You have to love fresh hot bread with garlic infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My only criticism was for the jerk chicken app. Very little jerk seasoning, this needs to be addressed. However, the honey mustard dipping sauce takes you to a happy place where all concerns melt away. Our server Sean was fantastic as well. I sure wish I lived closer....

Stopped in on a road trip and the bar manager told me my Florida ID was fake. It's not. It's my actual driver's license. Also, if it actually were fake, you legally shouldn't have handed it back to me. You should have confiscated it. I've been a bartender. This place is operated by fucking idiots.

My co-workers & I dined here on a Wednesday night in February. I only gave 3 stars because none of our food came out hot. I ordered the "Irish" French onion soup & the Filet Mignon w/snow peas & mashed potato. The soup was a bit salty, not enough broth & the crouton baked inside was burnt. The cheese was not hot & bubbly. My entree, although flavorful was luke warm at best. (Good beef though). My co-workers ordered a scallops & risotto entree & the smokey roast pork. Each said it was delicious but not hot. The salads were a bit skimpy but the Warm Portuguese roll with the variety of oils & vinegar was delish. The wine my co-worker had was fabulous.

This place was recommended to me by my hotel and I drove 4 miles past all the chain places to eat here. Atmosphere was nice and cozy probably a good date place to go. Service was good Onion soup was good Now the reason for the 3 stars is the entree that I ordered: vegetable pasta in a marinara sauce, the pasta and sauce were tasty but vegetables consisted of a few sliced cherry tomatoes, I found a piece of squash and the kicker sliced Brussel sprouts ( gross no matter how you prepare them) and they gave me a side of Brussel sprouts.

We selected this restaurant based on online reviews. After driving 7 hours from Massachusetts, all we wanted was a nice meal with a glass of wine. After 45 minutes after being seated we still did not have our drinks. It took 2.5 hours and several complaints to management to get through dinner. The food was good, but the service was horrible. It totally ruined the experience.

Bartenders are awesome here and so are the wings! Plus this place is great for groups/ celebrations. But, I wish they didn't feel the need to have live entertainment so often. It gets so loud in the pub, sometimes I leave just because I can't even hear myself think!

I was in a joyous mood for lunch; we had just landed a new contract with an important client. We dined outside at this attractive venue. Salmon salad was a featured many special; you would think one could not go wrong by ordering a special, right? Well, wrong. Iceberg lettuce dampened my enthusiasm, as well as salmon that I suspected had spent a portion f the near-distant past on the inside of a can. I'd even have been okay with the boring and unimaginative offering for $6 or $7, but not $12 I have the impression the restaurant knows better, but on this date anyway they failed to deliver fr whatever reason. I'm not in Salisbury often and would not hurry back even if I were. I left still joyous, but my tummy did not share my mood.

Don't go when live music is playing!!! We've been there many times with no complaints. Food is great, service is fine and drinks are tasty. Tonight however-disappointing. The acoustic duo were so loud (and singer off key) we couldn't even order additional drinks from our server. She literally said "what" twice before placing her ear to my mouth. We could enjoy our conversation any longer and decided to cash out. We planned on staying much later and spend way more money. The bar manager needs to understand the fine balance between live music and patron enjoyment. Can you say over kill much?

This place has really fallen from grace over the years. It took 45 minutes to get an order of Irish Onion soup and French fries. The soup had to be sent back because it was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. It took 15 minutes to get the soup back. The beach fries were a generous portion however they weren't very hot. I felt bad for the poor bartender who had to tend bar and wait tables during peak lunch hours. I don't think I will be going back soon.

The bar has a solid draft selection and decent bourbon. Pleasant atmosphere with uncontentious music and friendly staff. I got two appetizers that were on special and they were served up quick and hot. Nice views of the river to be had on the deck, but I kicked it inside like any self-respecting alcoholic would.

Love this local restaurant! Great food, upscale atmosphere for the fine dining but casual in the bar area. Menu changes seasonally and uses local ingredients. The wine list is amazing and they always have new drink ideas in the bar. Stop in and support the locals.

Recommended by the local Hampton Inn. An unexpected treat. Come here for: crab cakes, shrimp, wings, risotto/cheese balls, ahi tuna all excellent. Salads fresh. On the flip side, pasta dishes didn't have all that much pasta but were fresh and tasty. Hamburger was overdone. Kids meals could have been warmer or brought out sooner. Wish I would have tried the grill sampler which sounded great. Bloody Mary and martini's very well done. Service for our large party was attentive. Reservations suggested. Definitely stop by if you are running thru Delmarva.

I love going to Market Street for a relaxed evening and intimate atmosphere. The food is always excellent as the dishes are prepared perfectly. Service is always great and friendly, and you are greeted warmly at the door. I have visited several times for lunch and dinner and am never disappointed. Later you can move into the bar area for a great night out with friends with live music. Definitely a favorite of mine!

Service has always been impeccable and friendly. The staff knows the menu well and is always attentive. The food is on the same level of excellence. Items are always cooked well with balanced flavors. The restaurant side is quiet and cozy (perfect for a romantic dinner), while the pub side is lively and offers a great night life atmosphere. There is also a deck and floating dock which is great for warmer nights. If you're in Salisbury, Market Street is a must stop for a great meal or a night out with friends. The prices are higher than other places in the area but they're justified in the exceptional food and experience Market Street offers.

When in an area far from home, I try to support local non-chain restaurants whenever I can. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Although I lived in Salisbury for quite some time, I never really ate at Market Street. On Christmas Eve, while Hubs and I were out running errands, we stopped in at Market Street for a good lunch and a drink. We sat in the pub area in one of the booths and our server (the bartender) came over a few seconds later. Without even having to strain my neck, he rattled off the draft beers located behind him. He handed us two menus printed on copy paper and left us to browse the menu. I had the jerk chicken sandwich which was totally awesome! The sandwich had a chicken breast pounded thin and falling off the kaiser roll (buttered and toasted, too) all topped with provolone cheese. The jerk seasoning was nothing like I've ever tasted from other restaurants and was amazing. Honestly, I would quit my job to work at Market Street and eat jerk chicken sandwiches everyday if I could. The added bonus was that the sandwich came with a choice of pasta salad, coleslaw, or macaroni and cheese. I had the pasta salad that, as to be expected, was just as delicious! Hubs ordered a burger and commented that it was cooked to a perfect medium and loved the homemade macaroni and cheese made with the little pasta shells. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. The drinks were ice cold. Although the prices were a little higher on the side for a lunch, the quality can't be beat. I highly recommend MSI the next time you are in Salisbury or if you are passing through. In the pub, if you look on the ceiling and notice a martini with the name "Joe Mama" and you wonder who that is ... please ask me and allow me to relive my college days!

I was here for lunch on 9/27/14, the day of Salisbury's annual Sea Gull Century, so I expected to be lost in a sea of cyclists. (I've done that ride before...just not this year.) Fortunately for me, I got there early enough in the afternoon that I could be given some individual attention. The place is actually two establishments sharing a kitchen; the pub is on one side, and the restaurant on the side facing the river (I assume that is the Wicomico River or a tributary of it). It's tucked away in this otherwise nondescript corner of downtown Salisbury, behind the office buildings and stores. One doesn't stumble upon it; there's nothing else near it, so you really have to be seeking it to find it. There is outdoor deck seating for those good-weather days, but I chose to sit inside. The server came by immediately and introduced himself, and then did something no other restaurant has ever done to me: he left a business card of the establishment with his name written in a spot the card was designed for. Simple, but effective way to remind diners what the server's name is, rather than have them whistling or saying "excuse me, miss?" throughout the meal. Then, of course, keep the card for future reference. Server was extremely polite and very knowledgeable about the menu. For an appetizer, I chose a baked brie with fruit. I actually got more than Server said was on the plate: two wedges of brie, each about 4" long, wrapped in what I suspect was commercial puff pastry (okay with me!) and baked until the cheese oozes. It came with a large amount of fruit salad, mostly melon and pineapple but some berries in there as well, drizzled with honey. You could make a meal out of just that. My only objection was that the puff pastry seemed to be underdone in spots, making the brie en croute a tad gummy. Who am I kidding--I ate it! I chose a grilled salmon salad for the entreé. Generous piece of well-seasoned salmon, not over- or undercooked, not too spicy or salty (iow, not blackened), served on an enormous amount of lettuce variety mix they call Arcadian Mix--not your usual Romaine. Plus, a few tomato wedges, a couple of cucumber slices, and thank goodness, NO croutons. A sliced strawberry and a couple more fragments of pineapple garnished the salad. As for dressing, I'm probably the only diner in America who hates salad dressing--when I'm out, I ask for blue cheese, and then only to pick out the chunks of blue cheese. I don't put the stuff on my salad. This presupposes, of course, that there will be pieces of blue cheese to pick, and the chef didn't just pour Ken's out of a bottle. This dressing had large, generous chunks of what felt in the mouth like Gorgonzola dolce, smooth and not too piquant. Perfect blue cheese dressing. I tried my best to avoid dessert temptation, but the chocolate pecan pie called out to me. A small (60°) wedge of standard pecan pie, drizzled with melted dark chocolate, accompanied me home. The taste of the pie was good, as was the texture, but the filling was a little thin. I wouldn't have minded a smaller wedge of a taller pie. I actually brought the pie home and ate it the next day, gently warmed. The ambiance inside is all lacquered oak and plants, quiet and pleasant. Wine cabinets are exposed so diners can see the wines they have. This would be a good first-date restaurant, as well as a place to bring out-of-towners who need a break from beach kitsch. I would like to try this place for dinner and see if the quality matches that of lunch. All in all, one of Salisbury's great little finds!

Food and service were very poor. The "gourmet" or "upscale" references on the restaurants'' website are not accurate descriptions. Unfortunately, try somewhere else in this food chain city:(. Market Street Inn is not a place I would go back and dine.

I was in town for business. Market Street was on the list of places to check out at the hotel so we thought we'd try it. I have been here one time before and remembered it from a few years ago. Non chain, casual, serves seafood all checkmarks so off we go. We were sat at a nice table with a view of the water and deck which was pretty sparse since the weather was yucky. Our server was nice. She helped us make our dinner decisions and steered me towards the seafood special which was a kind of whitefish that was steak like, actually the dish was not that great and so forgettable I can't even tell you what kind of fish it was. It was dry and way overcooked, which, for a piece of fish as thick cut as it was I'm not surprised. The risotto it was served on would have made Gordan Ramsay cringe and send back. It was way to runny and kind of bitter from too much artichoke. The garden salad, I must say was served with a house made honey mustard that was excellent. Here's where the problem came.....before the meal they serve you this awesome ripping bread and they bring a set of 4 bottles of oil / balsamic for you to dip the bread in. They give you a little card describing the bottles and leave it for you. My co-worker goes to pour out the garlic infused olive oil and our pours a fly onto the plate. Yes, a fly. Not the small little mosquito type, but a big black fly with wings. If I get a minute I'll upload a picture because in this day and age it would be irresponsible of me not to take pictures and plaster them all over the internet. We then lamented on how disgusting it was and we called the waitress and she promptly took the dish and oil away. When she returned she apologized and stated that they clean the bottle out every 3 days. Let me repeat, every 3 days. YUCK. Now I can see how it happened, they serve these 4 bottles to everyone....even the people on the deck and since there are no covers on the bottles... a poor defenseless fly, obviously thirsty for garlic infused olive oil, flies into the bottle and meets his tragic demise. His corpse then finds its way onto our plate days later after his rotting fly flesh weeps into the oil. 2 things -- Either put lids or spouts on the bottles or clean your freakin bottles more often than every 3 days also if you're that slack about it, I'm sure the bottles go longer than 3 days. That's just unsanitary, nasty and there has got to be some sort of code against it. If not, there should be. Come on people have some sense. Also, I'd hate to think that the bottle was sitting out for that long and be one of the unlucky souls who used that bottle and poured the garlic / fly infused olive oil on their plate to dip the bread in. Skeeves me out, you know? Anyhoo.....needless to say I won't back.

A tasty stop on a four hour road trip - we had a late dinner on a Friday night but found parking and were seated immediately - parking is free on the weekend and it's along a wide canal with ducks and geese. Crab cake was full of tasty lump and my seafood pasta was great - sea scallops shrimp, canned backfin - the sauce was so fantastic! Fancy copperish menus, an extensive drink list and super friendly and attentive waitress (thanks Amber!)

(11/18/2013) Cute place to get away a little in downtown area of Salisbury, right on the Wicomico River. Conveniently located near PRMC, county government, and the university. Bar is well-stocked, has warm dark, booths and 2-tops in nooks. The restaurant side is brightened by a hothouse-like enclosure. Nice outdoor deck on the river and a floating "bar"ge. Love that a same-sex couple were having their wedding reception there. The Irish Onion Soup was dark and salty, had chunks of yellow onion (a little on the crunchy side, not quite rendered and silky), thin rye toast, not-quite-melted provolone slices; whole thing was a little cool, could've used a touch more time under the salamander. Shrimp Salad had medium (U31), whole, steamed shrimp, diced celery, hint of Old Bay, underseasoned, on cold, stale, pumpernickel swirl. Side of mac 'n' cheese was creamy, bechamel was bland, pasta overdone. Service for my table was attentive and accurate, for a neighboring table, not so much. Overall, high marks for looks and location, food is mediocre, bonus points for LGBT-friendly.

This place was really crowded when I went here this past Friday. Unfortunately I didn't get any food because the kitchen was closed. I tried the Smith Island cake, it's like 10 layers of cake and choclate frosting, it was too sweet for me. The drinks (Cosmos) were really good, I can't complain on the price because I'm used to paying $12 for my cosmos out here in CA. I like the ambience and the people there, a bit small and crowded, you have to fight for a seat. They over look the river, I wasn't able to see it but I can imagine how nice it would be in the summer.

Meh. The jambalaya was good, but the waitress took it away before I could finish...rude. The jerk chicken wasn't horrible... but it was barely JERK chicken. It had very little flavor and the "salad" it came on was laughable, especially for the $ 16!! Menu claims the Chef learned the recipe in Negril, he was probably on vacation and took a 2 hour cooking class. The Asian wings were okay. Skip dessert and get ice-pops at Frumex on 729 Roland St. I didn't know the area well, but wish I skipped this place all together and had some real food.

Wow. This place met and beat my expectations. My SO and I were in town for the first Salisbury lacrosse game of the year (GO GULLS!) and we decided to make a little pre-Valentine's Day weekend out of it. I had done some research via Yelp before we went and decided on MSI. What a phenomenal choice! First, I called ahead and asked about the availability of gluten free options - and the manager assured me that I would have plenty of choices and even remembered me when I checked in and checked in at various times throughout the meal to ensure that everything was okay. For dinner, both entrees were cooked exactly as we ordered them and were sooo delicious. SO got the pasta with steak and alfredo and I ordered the blue and bleu steak - aka steak with crab meat and blue cheese broiled on top. SO freaking delicious. Also, they had a special on bottle of Pinot Noir that was quite tasty - very light, and paired deliciously with the meal. Lastly, the service was just spot on. Our waitress Lauren took multiple trips to the kitchen for us to ensure that everything was prepared gluten free and provided just the right amount of service without seeming like she was hovering. I would definitely recommend this place for a date or a nice meal. Also - the martini list was QUITE impressive. Next time....

The service was awesome! The bread was fresh and tasted great with the oils offered. The Spitfire Wings appetizer was definitely hot as the waiter warned but they had a great taste and heat level They needed to be cooked more. Some of them were still pink and bleeding inside. I order the crab cakes and they teasted great. I had them fried versus broiled. They were cold in the middle. seemed to be an off night for the chefs. Rushing things out not fully cooked made me wonder if I'd get sick. I finished the crab cakes but the chicken I didn't since I was worried about it being undercooked. Just the slippery feel of undercooked chicken made me stop. Other than that, it tasted great.

We would not recommend this restaurant! We made a special stop in Salisbury MD just to have lunch at this restaurant. The waitress was new and no one was helping her understand the menu items. It took at least 10 minutes to get our beers. We ordered a hamburger with fries, and after waiting 40 minutes, we asked another waiter how much longer would we have to wait for a hamburger. He must have told the owner/manager about out concerns. She came out and apologized and said our food would be out in a couple of minutes. We waited 10 more minutes and still no hamburger... So we left $5 on the table for the beers and left, very unhappy!!!

My favorite restaurant and bar in Salisbury. Food: Always fresh seafood. My favorite is the Crabcake ceasar salad, made with jumbo lump crabmeat and not too much filler. The fries are amazing, pretty close to your boardwalk fries from OC. Crab dip A+++. Huge specialty martini list. Service: Bartenders are very friendly. I paid a visit 2 weeks ago, twice while in town and had not so great service from a waitress in the bar area. I believe she is new. We waited quite awhile for her to take our orders and she wasn't very attentive, sweet though. The next day for lunch we had the same server, ugh, same thing. Atmosphere: Small, cozy pub with funny quotes around the bar. Good for small groups or couples. Indoor bar seating, outdoor enclosed seating, and small dock seating. Live acoustic music on the weekends. I visit this place at least a few times when I come home.

Sophisticated Little Restaurant Pros Good location near RT 50 and Courthouse Nice decor, casual, clean, well maintained Friendly-fast-attentitive service Tasty food, nicely prepared and presented Good selection of beer, assume the same is true for wine and spirits Reasonably priced for lunch Plenty of metered parking Cons Can't think of any Recommendation Strong recommend, I'd eat here often if I lived in the area. I would have to eat here a few more times before giving them 5 stars, but expect that I would.

Let me start out by saying I had the black bean burger and it was delicious. Also the salad I had was fresh, although the Gorgonzola dressing was mediocre and the coleslaw was good and fresh. Our waitress was really nice and friendly and our food came out in a timely fashion. Now that is where the compliments cease. My better half ordered a filet mignon and it was very dry and bland....no seasoning what-so-ever. He asked to substitute the squash and zucchini that came with the meal and was told "we don't do substitutions". They were terrible- bland and rubbery. The roasted potatoes that came with the dish were also dry. So his dish was completely dry and flavorless. I ordered a tea that I didn't like and didn't drink and was still charged $2.75 for one tea bag!! Really?!! The bread was decent but the oils they serve with it did not have lids which is not sanitary and they expect you to pour the oils on a plate as opposed to giving a dipping dish. We chose this place because there wasn't much to choose from in this area. If we were to return to this area, I think we might have to travel a bit further to a better restaurant.

I absolutely LOVE the Market Street Inn. I spent quite a bit of time in the Salisbury/OC area for work this year and never would have suspected that Salisbury, MD would have such a quaint restaurant. The food is very good and it is a very unique ambiance. I like sitting outside on the deck at a high-top table although I am not a big fan of the lower dock that moves every time someone steps onto it. Market Street has a great bread basket with 4 different dipping sauces that are a great way to start your meal. For entrees, I have ordered a rib-eye steak which was delicious as well as lamb chops which were equally as good. I have always wanted to try some of their seafood dishes but just happened to be in the mood for meat both times I was there. The food is reasonably priced for the quality you get and the service was always slightly above average. I will be back!

Deserves a 3.5. I've been here twice and ordered the Black Bean Burger. A great meatless option for you vegetarians or red meat alternative. The customer service is good but the rest of the menu seemed a little over priced. The location is nice and quaint. I would definitely like to try other items from the menu once I save some $.

One of the best, and certainly one of the priciest restaurants in downtown. The menu is updated seasonally, and there is an outdoor patio on the water. Small and cozy, but with a nice atmosphere. Service is adequate and friendly. While I don't recall its name, I had a shrimp and pasta dish-- quality seafood in a dockside setting is something I enjoy.

Came to Salisbury for work and was not too optimistic when I set off to find dinner. Definitely did NOT want to go to a chain and the majority of the restaurants in this area are just that. Was pleasantly surprised at the meal I had at Market Street Inn. The weather was great, so I sat out on the deck by the river. Ordered the steamed littleneck clams for an appetizer. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned and came with some very tasty and fresh garlicky bread. For my entree I had the crabcake sandwich. Very nice crabcake - not too much breading and filler, mostly crab. The bun was great too. I had the coleslaw as a side (the other option was mac and cheese and that seemed too heavy). It was fine. Pretty basic coleslaw. Over all, I would definitely suggest Market Street Inn. I just wanted a light dinner, but it seemed like a nice place. The specials all looked great. Glad I found it.

Came here one night this summer for dinner on the deck. The Larks were playing that night. The deck atmosphere is fantastic, the burger and Mac and cheese were decent. Orange crush, decent. Server-lacked personality but service was fine. Entrees are too expensive for my taste, but the sandwich menu is affordable.

Unfortunately this was a disappointing meal all around. Burgers not cooked as ordered and very bland. Cole slaw had no flavor and service was sub par.

Stopped here on the way to Ocean City and had a wonderful weekday lunch. My wife had the best black bean burger ever and I had a great crabcake sandwich and pasta salad. The server was very charming and the booth was mighty comfortable. We also knew we had picked well when the well-dressed lunch crowd started filling up the place...

Enjoyed a nice meal here recently when traveling to NC. Service was prompt and courteous and wine selection was quite extensive. The appetizer bread was fresh and the multiple dipping sauces were a pleasant surprise. I would definitely return again.

Food was delicious. My very critical boyfriend said "This is the best jerk chicken I've ever had". Crab dip was delicious. Service was excellent. I give this 4 instead of 5 because I thought they were just a bit overpriced. I would def. eat here again.

One of the best restaurants and, more importantly, best bars in Salisbury. Jerk chicken sandwich is amazing and the french fries are homemade boardwalk style. Check out their drink club (martinis?) in the bar with names on the wall and enjoy live music on many nights. Cozy, comfortable, casual and one of the few 'real' bars in the 'bury.

Martinis always amazing.. .. This place can great slightly crowded, especially during college season, and seats are limited. The pull and rip bread with the different oils is really tasty. Go before 11 pm if you want a seat, but on thursdays [college night] its always crowded, and sunday funday for the football games is super fun, but come here for the late game cause its not cheap.. So go to brew for the one o clock game then here for the night games.. Enjoy :)

The Crab Cakes are the best in the area. Sitting outside by the water is an added bonus to a nice evening in spring or summer.

I really like the Market Street Inn, hence my giving them 5 stars, however, upfront (for those that just skim), I need to note that two of my dining companions found that the prices were not justified by the meal they received (saying the soup was thin and their entrees were OK, but not a $30 steak or $30 pork) and thought the desserts were all fairly similar if not near identical (we shared what the desserts we got). My friends' critiques noted, I like this place. The service is friendly and competent. I started off with their fruit and brie appetizer, which I've had before here and it was as delicious as I remembered. A nice variety of fruits, and two puff-pastry wrapped pieces of brie. If I were to offer some constructive criticism on this dish, I'd suggest including a few slices of a baguette with this, but otherwise, delicious. My entree was the risotto cakes, and I was really impressed. I've had my share of really good dishes in all sorts of restaurants, but the risotto cakes at the Market Street Inn are my new exemplar for a balanced dish. The taste of tomato and basil is subtle but present, the balsamic reduction goes quite nicely with the risotto flavor, but it is the smokiness of the fresh smoked mozzarella that makes this dish. It brought a stunning depth of flavor to that dish and set off the balsamic flavors in an unexpected way, with a beautiful balance of flavors. Sadly, I can't heap praise upon the desserts the way I could the rest of my meal. My chocolate nutty cake was OK, but it was not really special, and the chocolate flavor wasn't particularly strong nor did it taste of a high quality chocolate. I will note that the banana flavors between the layers was very good and made a nice contrast with the chocolate such as it was, but this could have been so much better. The other desserts (a strawberry smith island cake, a strawberry shortcake, and some sort of peanut butter cake) were also just OK, and not amazing. Perhaps this had to do with the desserts not being made in-house (according to our server). Given that desserts are the last flavors diners take away from an experience, I'm a bit disappointed that they seem to not be given the same care here as the rest of a meal. On the whole, though, I had an excellent meal and I would happily return when in the area. Definitely my favorite restaurant in Salisbury by a very large margin.

I have eaten here on multiple occassions and have always been extremely pleased. Every time I have tried something different and I do not believe they have a bad meal on the menu. My most recent dinner there included Grilled Chicken Kabobs which were prepared very well. The atmosphere is excellent for a professional outing. I have utilized their restaurant for hosting a small event and the food was well made and the service on the spot. Some of the menu selections are pricey but you know that going into this place. All in all I have never been displeased with here and I will not hesitate to utilize them as a place to meet for an upscale dinner.

I went to this restaurant early on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't too crowded. The service was friendly and efficient and the selection of the menu is varied and seems to be changed regularly. I had the Guinness onion soup, which was very tasty. My spouse and I both had dishes that had crabcakes in them and we both liked the crabcakes very much. The green peach iced tea is light, refreshing and addictive. I was surprised that they had free refills on both the iced tea and the Pennsylvania Birch beer that I ordered. Very much worth a visit.

Our family visited this Salisbury institution recently and loved the set up of the place, and the interior design. It was both cozy and elegant. We sat outside, on the banks of the river, which was more like a lagoon in this spot. As much as I wanted to love the place, it was about a three and a half star experience. We wanted to sit close to the river, and that meant a table on a floating dock type structure, connected to the main deck by a small bridge. The hostess allowed us to sit there but seemed put out by our request (that would mean more walking for the servers, I guess). The flies were a problem. Now sitting outside at a restaurant could mean flies, but these were horsefly-like things. The deck had torches, but they weren't lit. Frequent requests to light them were met with "we'll do that soon." Never happened. So we gathered a few citronella candles on empty tables around us, and asked the waiter to light those. Not much help. I guess we could have moved inside, but the weather was perfect for dining outside. The food was decent although my sister (who never complains at restaurants) said her chicken dish tasted like dishwashing detergent. She mentioned that to the waiter, who said he wasn't surprised, as their honey glaze on the chicken could taste a little like soap. Really? That was one unusual response, but he took the dish back and she ordered a fish entree that resembled Rockfish (the name of the fish escapes me now - started with a "T"). It was stuffed with crab and very delicious. She should have ordered that the first time. I had the coconut shrimp, which was crunchy and meaty. As much as I liked the spot (flies aside) and decor, something about the experience just underwhelmed me. Maybe because my father had massive heart surgery that day, and we were all in a bit of a funk. I'll vow to visit this place again and perhaps review it again.

I took two friends from Stevensville, MD, to the Market Street Inn for dinner...none of us had ever been there before. Yelp helped!! The atmosphere was exquisite, the food amazing, and the service outstanding. Deanna was our server and she went above and beyond with suggestions, recommendations, and excellent service. Very intimate if that was what you wanted...also very clean, stylish, and centrally located in the middle of Salisbury. I recommedn you GPS the location though because I can in off 13 on 50 and almost got lost!!! Take someone you love here...it is the ultimate experience!!

We're back a few months later for a special birthday dinner! We were seated in a cozy corner, given perfect service, and excellent food -- a perfect romantic night out. We had a crab dip appetizer which was okay, although by no means the best I've ever had. The garden salads were very good, but I enjoy their spring walnut salad better. The entrees were the stars. Definitely order from the specials list when you go to Market Street. I chose the miso scallops. They were cooked to perfection and placed on top of a bed of shrimp fried rice. The rice was very similar to what I've gotten at hibachi places. Speaking of hibachi, my fiance had the hibachi strip steak special. It was a very large steak, cooked and seasoned very well. It came with asparagus tempura, which was also very enjoyable. And then we splurged and had 2 pieces of cake. He had "Devil's Own" -- a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate chunks right in the cake. I had an Oreo crumb cake. His was better, although I can hardly complain about my choice :) Like I said, the service was excellent, with the waitress coming to visit at just the right times. The bill for the evening was a little less than $100 with the tip; it was worth it!

When a restaurateur pours his heart and soul into his business, you get a place like the Market Street Inn. Rob has worked very hard for years to build Market Street into the most popular fine dining experience in Salisbury as well as one of the coolest watering holes in Town. The food is American cuisine, but is far from run of the mill. My favorites are the jerk chicken and tuna. Rob once told me he acquired his jerk spice recipe in Jamaica from a chef who required him to work a full shift in the kitchen in exchange for the recipe. Rob, I think that 8 hours has paid off as it is now a cornerstone to MSI's menu. If you're in the mood for a drink, MSI is one place that will satisfy your desire. The mojitos are carefully and lovingly prepared by competent bar staff. The real high light of the pub are the martinis and car bombs. I have never counted how many martinis they have on the menu but I would guess it's at least a couple dozen. If you complete the tour of their martini menu, you get the honor of having your name painted on the ceiling in a martini glass. Countless hard core Guinness drinkers have had their names inscribed on the car bomb wall of fame. Sporting car bombs named for a couple dozen countries from around the world, MSI has the widest selection of car bombs I have ever seen. Whether you're looking for fine dining or a cool pub environment where you can drink the night away with friends, MSI is for you.

Best spot that I could find in Salisbury, away from strip mall heaven too. One of the best tasting sirloin steaks I've had, cooked perfectly, served with very fresh roasted veggies too, and a crisp clean salad that was not small or "poofie", lots of tomatoes and cukes and such. A nice bar to eat at if you are traveling alone, with your honey or a friend. Booths looked private. There was a good band too playing some southern rock favorites and blues, they were quite good. Just a trio and not too loud while eating, very upbeat and fun.. Good beers on tap too, I enjoyed a seasonal pumpkin ale. Nice atmosphere and great service. The martini options were plentiful. I think priced right!

Recently went to a wedding rehearsal dinner here. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious... especially the appetizers. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. After hearing so much about this place I'm glad I finally got a chance to check it out. I cannot speak to the cost of the food since I didn't pay (yes!) but it was a really great evening. I will go back to dine in a smaller group at some point. The drink menu was extensive and everyone enjoyed trying all sorts of their martini concoctions. For a large party, this place was spot on! Recommended.

Lovely deck and atmosphere inside depends on where you are seated. The booths, for example are rather nice and intimate, but the general seating area is a bit run down. The red meat (beef and lamb) seems to be quite is good, but I think that little else is made fresh in this place, so be careful what you order beyond red meat. When I asked for a salad with dressing on the side they gave me a packet of Kraft dressing. At a diner, I might have found this tackiness to be expected, but in a place that calls itself a "restaurant" I expect them to be able to make salad dressing. Who knows what other packaged ingredients they use in the preparing of their food. Completely turned me off. *follow up note. I have been back and found the Ahi Tuna appetizer very good and fresh. Tonight, I decided to get the full Ahi dinner - the waiter persuaded me that I would get the zucchini and rice and more tuna. The appetizer is $14 and comes with seaweed salad, the $24 dinner came with the EXACT same portion and method of cooking of the tuna!?!, with side of over salted enriched rice and over-cooked boiled zucchini - just terrible and, though it sounds like a Woody Allen joke - not only were the sides terrible, they were insanely small portions (like 1/4 cup of boiled zucchini...but I guess they knew that nobody would eat more than that.)

I've been to the Market Street Inn a few times and always had a good meal. Most recently, I ate here for a really quiet brunch on a fall Sunday morning and had some really good baked brie, sandwiches and an omelette. They have a nice outdoor area that overlooks the river, and a top-notch wine selection. We'll definitely be back, this is one of the best restaurants in Salisbury.

Had lunch and dinner there while on a business trip. What a gem of a restaurant. Generous portions of top quality food. I had the corvina fish special while my wife had the ahi tuna. Both done to perfection. For lunch I had the black bean burger. Excellent. A fine beer and wine list. Sat outside overlooking the not-so-lovely canal. Looks like maybe 10 years ago the city made a rejuvenation effort along the canal then ran out of money to maintain it. Overlook this and concentrate on the food.

Very inflexible management. We went there for a special occasion...asked to substitute a potato item and was told it would cost 3.50 more, in addition to the most expensive item on the menu. I asked to speak to the manager....she/he never came. We left without ordering dinner after paying for our beverage. I will not return to that restaurant.

Good food, pricey for the area but worth it. Warm bread and multiple dipping oils - FABULOUS! The only complaint are the VERY small copper mugs used for the mojitos. The variety of the mojitos are good but for $7.50, the expectation is a drink twice the size. Stick to other cocktails to not feel gipped.

Pretty disappointed. I go here every year before I ride the Seagull Century in October. This year the service was ultra slow. I had the "Surf and Turf". The meat was extremely tough. My sister said her chicken dish which wasn't so great either. Total bill for two was $81 plus tip. Save your money. Will not return to this restaurant. So many better places for less money.

This is a favorite date night location for my husband and me. Market Street is probably as close as you can get to up-scale in Salisbury. The decor is dark woods and dim lighting, and feels very cozy (except the area by the windows which can be somewhat drafty). I love the bread with dipping oils and was very pleased when they added a cheat sheet to the back of their server cards, because I could never remember which colored bottle was which sort of oil. We almost always order the jerk chicken appetizer, which is quite good and not too spicy for someone like me with a testy stomach. My husband likes the fruit and brie platter, and while I don't care much for brie, the fruit has been fresh and sweet, with just the right amount of honey drizzled over it. My husband loves their steaks, but I almost always go for one of the daily specials. I find that these are usually good but sometimes a little hit or miss. As someone who tries to be an adventurous eater, I appreciate that the specials are usually items that don't often pop up on local menus. I've tried puffer tails (a bit too river-water tasting for my tastes but well prepared), paella (great quality fresh-tasting seafood but the chorizo was a little dry), and a variety of other things, but my absolute favorite was the pork steak with mango salsa over polenta. Proteins aside, one of the things I LOVE about Market Street is how they prepare vegetables. Their vegetables are always delicious and can sometimes steal the show away from the proteins on the plate. My husband is a meat lover, so I almost always end up eating my vegetables and then stealing his. The only time this didn't happen was when his meal came with bacon wrapped asparagus. Ha! For dessert, their creme brulees are usually quite good. I've had a good slice of Smith Island cake there as well. The chocolate cakes tend to e a little heavy handed. My main complaint is that the dessert menu is not nearly as interesting as the rest of the menu. Lastly, I think Market Street has the best mojitos in town, although they are a bit expensive like the rest of the menu. I like my mojito with plenty of mint, and Market Street gets them just right. And they bring it to you in a cute little tin cup. They also have an extensive wine list, about which I don't have much to say since I don't drink the stuff. Admittedly, the whole menu is a bit pricy, but this is a date night location for us, so we don't mind splurging occasionally. Overall, not perfect but still one of the finer places to eat in Salisbury.

I had the crab cake sandwich broiled and it was delicious! Service was good, except they brought out the wrong order for someone I was with, so they had to wait quite a while for their food. Also, three of us ordered iced tea (two unsweetened and one raspberry) and they mixed up the drinks so two of us didn't get the drink we wanted. Not a biggie, we got them later for our refills. We were seated promptly when arrived and our order was taken promptly as well. It was a hot day outside and a little hot inside the restaurant as well. Seems it would be nice to sit outside when the weather is better as they are right by the water. Overall, a solid 4 stars for food and service. Would visit again.

Went to celebrate an anniversary. The service here is top notch. On this night I had the New Strip topped with crab meat and blue cheese. The quality of the steak and especially the crab meat were disappointing. The crab meat was that cheap, white, flakey, small crab meat. I doubt it was blue crab, or crab at all. Looked and tasted more like flaked white fish. Nothing about it - taste, smell, or appearance - said crab meat. For a $28 dish, I want a thick, juicy cut of beef and some real crab meat. I pointed it out to our waiter and he knew where I was coming from. The concept justified the price, however, the quality and taste didn't justify the price.

Food is OK, but overpriced for what it is. They try to be a bit too fancy and miss the mark. The bar and outdoor patio are nice. For the area it is one of the better restaurants, but compared with anywhere else in the world that actually has more than a handful of choices this would be a very average restaurant. If you want a drink, light fare, or desert out on the patio or in the bar this would be a good choice, for dinner I think you will be feel you were overcharged for an average quality meal that tried to disguise itself as something a bit better. Mac-O-Meter rating 2.5 stars.
