YES! Say it with me a thousand times: YES to this new gem. There is seating and beautiful and thoughtful decor if you have the time to chill, but it's also obviously great if you want to stop in for a quick takeaway that offers actually tasty excellent nutritious food and drink on your lunch break. Forget all the fast food joints around, they are all put to shame. My wife and I sat and saw a steady stream of folks taking food out, just a week after their soft opening they already have converts by the dozen. We went by excited to see the sign up before their recent soft opening on the 13th and were greeted at the door and given a copy of their menu for when they opened. We live 45 minutes away, but we had to come back to try this - and we're looking forward to coming back again to try the rest of the menu (you can't eat everything at once, even if you wish you could!). Before I even talk about the food, I have to say as my wife and I have both worked in restaurants and are proud home chefs, we saw what we most want to see in any restaurant - cleanliness and genuine care. Not just was the establishment clean, they even had an awesome water filter for their water/soda dispenser (if you can resist the bottled/canned Ting, Coconut milk, or specialty smoothies and hibiscus tea, that is...) Water is life, and cleanliness is next to Godliness. I can't wait to try their guava coconut milk smoothie - my mouth is already watering. My wife had Ting, an awesome imported grapefruit soda with actual beautiful sediment in it from the use of real fruit, while I had a big tall can of my favorite, young green coconut water. We have similar tastes and both had the curried goat with cabbage and sweet potato (which they throw on the grill and is a special varietal that is amazingly delicious, a must-try side aside from the plantains, which we only passed over because we have three at home that we are actually frying up right now as a matter of fact!). There's a Jamaican hot sauce available for those who like to zing it up, with hot pepper and mustard and turmeric - everything you want to spice up tradition with a little extra tradition! Fresh clean cabbage slaw with mixed sweet peppers in it, excellent taste and crunch to give you your veggies. Don't be afraid of goat or oxtail, however staples such as jerk chicken, jerk pork, salads and soups are available until you eventually decide that if the jerk chicken is that good, the super traditional dishes like goat and oxtail are worth a try if you haven't ventured that far into Jamaican cuisine yet. Again - excellent food, excellent service, SUPER clean water (which most folks don't realize how important is for flavor and health)... not only beverages that are inventive and traditional, but food that was fantastic. And appropriate for the area - like with salt, you can always add spice; my wife and I are chili heads, so next time I might bring around a little of my ghost pepper extract, so if you see a grown man crying with a smile on his face, that'll be me. Again, cleanliness next to Godliness, and everything was on point. Can't say enough but already probably said too much! Thanks to the owners and managers for bringing the bright star of good food to Salisbury, we'll be back for sure!

SO happy we tried this joint for lunch! Tons of options - lots of flavor, very authentic. I think they had 6 or 7 sides to choose from, three dift types of rice. I ordered stew pork -- really great, fresh flavor - better than most I've had in Jamaica. My husband (a Jamaican) said it was real jamaican food. The festival weren't that good, but that's the only thing I was less than thrilled with. Nice spice - but not too much - liked the side of chopped scotch bonnet to kick it up a notch. We'll be back for sure!

The staff was very accommodating (I was on crutches). The wings and jerk chicken were delicious! Some of the side were a bit disappointing (bland, yet salty) But, I will be back to try other entrees!

First time we stopped here, and am so glad we did - YUM! Don't have much experience with Jamaican food so can't speak to authenticity but everything we had was delicious, seemed fresh & very flavorful. We both had curry chicken, I had sides of rice & peas, plantains and kale while hubby had white rice, mac & cheese and kale. I had actually ordered curry goat but they messed up the order and brought me chicken which I kept because it looked really good. Just gives me a good excuse to return and try the goat, though lots of things on the menu sound good. I would suggest looking at the menu online before you go though as you order at the counter. They have flyers there explaining the food, but if it's all new to you it may be easier to go a bit prepared from previewing it. Someone at the next table had wings and they looked really good too. It's really nice to have an affordable option and a chance to experience different types of food in this area.

Traveling back to Virginia and stopped by for lunch and we had jerk turkey necks, goat soup and curry chicken all were awesome! Chicken was very tender and the jerk turkey necks were nicely seasoned. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I'm usually not a fish person but I could eat the escoveitch dish every day. More than enough food. Absolutely loved it!

We came in not super hungry but still hungry. Ordered a few sides. The plantains prepared both ways (chips and regular) were delicious. The collards were outstanding. The red pea soup was good but confusing. It was never mentioned nor indicated what meat was in it. Also it was never mentioned that there were huge dumplings in it. The dumplings were the size and shape of large fingers. Very strange and offputting. But still tasted good, just took up too much room in the soup. Not a huge fan of dumplings. Looking forward to going back and trying other things!

I travel for work and was pleasantly surprised when I saw this restaurant listed on my Yelp app. I love Carribean food and looked forward to eating here. I wasn't disappointed! Service was good as was the food. I had a small order of curry chicken with rice and peas. Then, to my delight, this small order came with 2 sides. I got a double order of plantains. I also ordered a beef patty for later but I ate that as well. I recommend if your in the Salisbury MD and like Carribean food, stop here!!

I've been here twice and love it! The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and its really, really clean. I expected a divey place since it is a Jamaican restaurant in a shopping center in Salisbury. However, the owners have done an excellent job decorating and making it really nice on the inside. The food is very authentic and very good. I was slightly disaapointed to see that you can't choose 2 sides with the jerk chicken meals anymore. Now, you only get to choose between sweet potatoes or festival with the jerk chicken and the sides are an additional $3 a piece, which I think is a little pricey. Still, I will definitely be returning when I'm in town for some scrumptious Jamaican food and highly reccomend the place.

This is an authentic Jamaican restaurant with a very extensive menu. My wife and I had one lunch here and it was truly great. We had jerk pork and curry goat with rice and peas. The pork had me looking up a recipe online so I could try it at home. The goat was tender and nice sized pieces. All the side dishes were tasty and fresh. I cannot wait to go back.

Never thought I would find good Caribbean food in Salisbury, but this place did not disappoint. I'd recommend the Curry Goat but everything they have is really good

My first time at Reggae Soul cafe. The staff was very friendly and the takeout of small curried goat was delicious. The entree comes with rice/rice and beans and two sides. For sides I had plantains and kale. From what I could tell the entree comes from the kitchen and the sides are retrieved from the steam table. One thing that bothered me is that I could not see inside the restaurant from the parking lot. The doors and windows are covered in vinyl wrap, it left me wondering what it looked like inside. Once I opened the door I was happy to see a very clean restaurant. If I'm in the area again, I'd stop by.

This is a fun new place to try in Salisbury. The staff are nice and the food is really good. It is kind of cafeteria style and they have a few tables if you want to sit down. My family ordered the jerk chicken, curried goat, curried chicken and some jerk chicken patties with a side of festival. I was disappointed by the festival since on the menu it was described as dumplings but they were more like hush puppies. The tomatoes on my jerk chicken salad were a little watery, but otherwise it was perfect! I am sure we will be back, especially for the curried chicken.

I've gone here twice now and on both occassions the food was delicious and the employees were very friendly. It is clearly their objective to deliver their customers a good experience. I've had the curry goat and the brown stew chicken. With the addition of the rice and two sides, it is a very filling and quality meal. Also, I am a huge fan of the fried plantains and sweet potatoes! This restaurant is a great addition to the city and they certainly deliver in offering great tasting, authentic Jamaican cuisine. I highly recommend the Reggae Soul Cafe!

Being from out of town I asked to sample a few items and they tasted okay. I'm used to Baltimore Jamaican food so my expectation was high. Even if it wasn't as good as what I was used to I was excited about having a new place to eat when I came to visit my parents because I am originally from the area. As I was sampling a few items I allowed 2 people to go ahead of me because they appeared to know what they wanted. There was a gentleman front of me and he got to curry goat which I taste it and it wasn't too bad so I decided to go with that. As the teenage boy was making his plate I asked what size it was and he told me it was a regular size. I said great I'll have the same thing. As she was making his plate he had given him three scoops of curry goat. When it came time to make mine I got two scoops because the girl at the register named Alyssa told him to stop. He told me I do get one more scoop...or spoonful. She again told him no and I inquire why the gentleman in front of me got three spoonfuls and I got 2 mind you they were very small spoonfuls compared to what I'm used to getting in Baltimore. The girl said it was their policy to give 2. And I told them although it may be your policy I should get the same amount as the gentleman in front of me since we ordered the same thing. Now I told her if I didn't get what the other man got because that was the portion size I was under the impression that I was getting then I was going to leave. Now because she doesn't know how to handle customers she forfeited a sale over 1 scoop or spoonful of curry goat. The teenager told me that it was his first day, however I don't blame him because the people that he waited on in front of me got a bigger portion size and I didn't for the same price so obviously he wasn't adequately trained... So I did not blame him. He was very friendly and just between a rock and a hard place. I did not ask to speak to a manager because I had already made up in my mind that they have lost a customer and I was never returning. I also noticed that the older adults were in the back and did observed that something was going on and never came to the front to see what the problem was. The sad part is I'd much rather have Jamaican food than fast food unfortunately I just won't be getting it from here. The sadder part is that they still would have had to had thrown my plate away because they had already made it so now they lost two spoonfuls of curry goat instead of 1 and the other two meals I was purchasing for my family and extra sides. Sadly enough if I could give it less than one star I would but Yelp is not set up that way. I also realize that in business you have to do what you need to do to retain customers because word of mouth is your best form of advertisement.

I tried the ox tails and had beans and rice, also had cabbage. the ox tails were good. as far as the rest of the meal it was under seasoned. the cabbage had no taste. my sister had the dumpling. we eat Jamaican food ALL the time and those dumplings are not right and the wrong size for people who are maybe sampling for the first time. I suggest the twist roll up type.
