With a name like "Cafe Milano" and a picture of a little Mario-looking guy flipping pizzas, you'd think that this was an italian place. Well, they serve pizza and some italian-style food, but it's far from a genuine italian pizza place. I work near Cafe Milano, and I've had it more times than I care to remember. The burgers aren't bad, but they're basically the exact same thing you'd make at home with frozen patties from WalMart and a potato-bread bun. I must say, their steak fries are better than average. Their pizza is ok. I'm no fan of Little Caesars - it's the fast-food junk that I get when I'm in a rush and don't care what it tastes like. The atmosphere at Cafe Milano is also confusing. It's supposed to be italian themed, but the owners are (I'm guessing) Mexican, and the TV over the front door is blasting the Spanish Channel all day long. I wouldn't mind or even notice if it weren't so loud, and constantly flashing pictures of almost-naked latinas dancing and shaking... and that's just the toothpaste commercial. I would never bring my daughters or family into this place. As a small side note, there's a framed news article about Cafe Milano inside the door now. It tells the story of the owner, and how he illegally "jumped the border" years ago... as if it warrants some kind of bragging right. The food is cheap and mediocre, but I will never eat there again.

Although I do not believe that Cafe Milano is the greatest pizza joint in town. It is definitely a welcome escape from "chain" pizza restaurants! Also on a Saturday late night, it's one of the only places you can just walk into and grab a couple of slices and a drink for under $6.

Hey Salisbury. WAKE UP! This is the best pizza in town. The Little Caesers in town is the worst I have ever experienced. The Uno's isn't a true Chicago style deep dish. Sam's Club has nothing Maynies is a fake gourmet pizza place. And Lombardi's doesn't rock like they say in the commercial on local AM radio. I can't believe they made that kid lie like that, just for some air time. But here is Cafe Milano, in the middle of the road that runs right through Salisbury. Most people probably drive right by it and never notice that it even there. I am guessing that there is a large percentage of Salisbury that doesn't want to stop there because of all the street walkers on the busy street. Cafe Milano uses awesome cheese, it doesn't get too greasy and it doesn't stretch like that crap in the Little Caesars commercial from the early 90s. They use just the right amount of sauce which makes me happy because I hate it when the sauce comes out the side of the cheese on my slice. Their bread sticks also taste great. There is also a great walk in deal where you can get 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $3.99. Here is the deal Salisbury...you aren't a village any more. Cafe Milano is a good example of why. If you were a village, why would they want to move from New York with all their boxes and recipes and NY style advertising? They would lose money and be out of business and Salisbury would lose the best Pizza it has ever seen, in town that is.

While the people in Milano's were very friendly when I stopped in, and they even went so far as to not just guess whether their pizza crust/sauces are vegan, but the lad went in the back to ask the chef. It's a shame through. They do not have any vegan options. Their crusts are vegan, but their sauce contains cheese, so despite the nice staff, this is a place you want to avoid going to if you are vegan.
