The one star is not because of the food (obviously Chipotle is delicious!). It's because of the service. This is the closest Chipotle to my office and we have ordered online about five times from this location. Every single time without fail, even when the line is very short, they haven't started my order until I got there. They say 20 minutes or something, and I give them 30, yet they still haven't even started my order! It's a pain to write down 5 orders and go to the store to have them make it on the spot. Much easier for us to each place our order online, but it looks like we need to start ordering in store. Moral of the story: NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS STORE. It takes twice as long as going in person. If you offer online ordering be on top of your game.

To those I delayed today in the line behind me, I apologize. You see, I've lived in South America and Asia for some time, so my tolerance for spicy is much higher than the average American. Chipotle lacks in their offerings of a salsa or hot sauce with a real kick. But chilis are an inherent part of Mexican cuisine. The Tabasco is more acceptable than their "housemade" salsas which is saying a lot... but regardless both are not hot enough and I prefer fresh habaneros or Thai chilis. So today I brought with me a fresh habanero and asked them to chop it finely for me so I could enjoy it with my burrito bowl. When they refused, I asked if I could borrow a knife. Again they refused. They referred me to their plastic knives section but that does not work when you are dealing with a fiery chili. Anywho, after speaking with the manager, and trying to understand why it is the policy of the Chipotle to not chop a chili for a guest, I informed them that I would not be able to pay for the food I had already begun to order. He said "no problem", I apologized, and left. Too bad. I've been licensed as a food safety manager in Montgomery county, and there is no regulation that prohibits what I was requesting, so this is why I wanted clarification on why they were resisting. I never got a specific answer. After I left, I enjoyed a nice burger at Fuddruckers down the street. Nice burger joint with real silverware and steakknives to chop my chili. :)

This review is not for Chipotle per se, but specifically for this particular location. If you are not familiar with Chipotle and stumbled upon this review, please ignore it and do try this restaurant and you won't be disappointed. I am a big Chipotle fan and probably eat it once a week, so I know a thing or two about Chipotle should function. I've tried this particular location multiple times during lunch time on weekdays and regret it each time. - Lines often long enough to reach the door - The bottleneck is at the serving counter where they are always under staffed, especially towards the cashier's station - There seem to be extra employees doing random things and other admin work instead of serving and working the cash register - Expect it to take 10-15mins to get your food

Now, those that know me that I'm addicted to Chipotle like the MLB is to steriods, but not all Chipotles are created equal. They are almost always perfection and delicious, but there are times when there is just a little extra bit of perfection with your burrito. This is one such Chipotle. I walk in, starved and in a foul mood. I meander up to the counter, prepared to grumble out my order, when our eyes met. The lady at the counter, saw the misery in my eyes and knew...just KNEW...that only she could save my night. Quickly she ladeled a huge helping of the delicious lime and cilantro rice onto my tortilla. Then she waved for more onions and peppers and gave me the nod to let me know that I was going to get the fresh stuff. Then the steak. So tender and juicy. The salsa came next and at this point, my eyes were just rivited about the amount of food that she was putting on my tortilla. At the end, she made my burrito so big that it wouldn't actually fold all the way around. It was...heaven. Bad day? What bad day? The magical Chipotle lady knew what I needed and made the night...perfection again.

I love this Chipotle location! It's right across the street from my house so I dine there often. I've never had a order complaint or mix-up and the restaurant all around is clean and functioning. There is on occasion trash on the floor but after 5 min of looking at it, it's been picked up by workers. It's a great place so def check it out! The only reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food servers always look like they don't want to be there which brings down my moral for being there or at least dining in. I can only imagine working in a assembly line for hours with minimal breaks but the least I can get is a "Hi, how are you?" and a smile to go along with it. For whatever reason, it's always the first person who's asking if I want a burrito or bowl that has the stank face. It's only a 30 sec interaction so I'll survive but still, if you don't want to be there...don't be there.

This location has very very very slow service. Expect any where from 10-20 minutes to place an order and have paid for it. Other than that, chipotle is chipotle, its delicious!

I really love this location. I am not sure if the team was on their "A" game but the food was heavenly! I would describe this Chipotle as one of the better establishments in the DMV region.

this is a fine establishment its good food for a not bad price. but the only thing is the lines. every time you go to especially this one you get a line almost out of the door. but other than that this is good but still second in my mind to jazmins. but if i go to a chipotle i have to go to this one because its right around where i always am.

I love Chipotle but today I'm feeling sick. I think I have food poisoning! Deadly, delicious culprit: chicken fajita bowl (white rice, black beans, fajita mix, corn salsa, sour cream, cheese, and romaine lettuce). I was inhaling the chicken fajita bowl like a beast, tasting undercooked chicken and thinking "ah, it won't kill me, I'll get over it" and here I am, 1:35 AM, sick for hours (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, slight fever and malaise). After going to bed at 9 pm and getting up, I still feel nauseous and I still have a fever. Retracing my day, got up at 1PM, dropped off items at dry cleaners up the block and grabbed Starbucks and Chipotle on my way back home..that's it for the whole day. I went in around 2:30PM, 5/27/2014. Anyone having symptoms that are indicative of being food poisoned? (Please Chipotle, cook meat throughly!!!!)

I have gone to this Chipotle since they opened in 2000-2001 when I was in high school. Although I don't go there anymore, the food has not changed since my high school buddies and I each ate two burritos back to back. I haven't been able to replicate that feat in the years since, but I still appreciate the effort. Thanks Chipotle for feeding an entire generation of college students.

It's chipotle!! Who doesn't love burritos! This location is more crowded than most, but two thumbs up for the service!

Holy guacamole, I love there chicken tacos but I decided to try the guacamole.... huge mistake. They shovel it on, do you know how many calories are in that stuff, about a million. It was light and fluffy not chunky, it was sort of like green whipped cream. I loved the grilled chicken and I have to agree with the other reviewers, turn the tunes down. I could barely hear the girl that was taking my order.

Great carnitas! Still too noisy with music. Best Chipotle carnitas I have ever had! Quiet please! Silencio, por favor. Turn the music down while we eat!!!

With this chipotle, it's a hit or miss and for the past couple months, they've been a miss more than a hit. They're so cheap with their portion, I'm paying for my food not asking for free food, how do you think 3 strings of fajitas, and half a spoon of rice acceptable?! On top of that, their customer service is THE WORST. I got rolling of the eyes and/or attitudes whenever I ask for certain things. They're super disoriented when they're busy, which I understand, but even when it's barely busy they can't even get it together. I've NEVER had any problems at any other chipotles but this one. Even though it is the closest to where I live, I'm going to think twice before coming here.

Who doesn't love chipotle? So. Addicting! That being said, this is my favorite chipotle. The employees are always great, aren't stingy with their portions unlike other chipotles, are quick and the food is always great. What else does a chipotle addict need?! :) I've been here during lunch and even though it's busy, I've always been able to find a seat here.

This is my favorite Chipotle, I think its the closet one to my house. I always come here after my workouts and whenever I'm just flat out starving! They are always generous with all the portions, I always ask for extra corn and cheese. I love getting brown rice here. PS Buy a $30 gift card and get a free Chipotle! The free one I always add extra chicken and extra guac they don't mind!

It was my first experience at this Chipotle location. I got dry black beans, chewy steak beef, and overall flavorless dish which added to my disappointment. I had to add cruel amount of salt to it, to taste any flavor. The line was huge and started at the entrance - I waited 25 minutes to just get my to-go meal. Qdoba by Congressional plaza is so much better. I will not be back soon.

Update: why do I torture myself, this place is so slow!!!!! Update: service has slightly improved. This has got to be the slowest chipotle as far as service. If I come during lunch it's spot on, but I guess the night crew is different. Every time I come in at night it takes forever!

The Wonder Twins & crew since my last visit was working again today. I was rushing with a greedy appetite so I placed my order from their App. As soon as I walked in no less than 5 minutes, they greeted me & told me they were bagging my order! The crew is young looking but their manners & customer service rocks! This location makes it easy for me to hop off the train, grab my food & head home. I did a quick check over on my order & as always, good to go. What a quick, cheap & healthy way to chow down & watch my ABC shows tonight!

I know everyone's been to chipotle before... but I am writing a review for something not many of you have had. The quesarito. It is not as good as it is hyped up to be. And that is exactly why it is not on the menu... Also chipotle is overrated to begin with.

This location is the only reason I've stopped going to chipotle as often. I used to go a few times a week. This location is always out of meat. Half the time I go in they don't have steak and/or carnitas and/or chicken. Today the only thing they had was tofu and barbacoa. Went to Qdoba instead. The staff is not trained at all. Every time they give you a different portion. The management is obviously incompetent. One day several weeks ago I was in line behind a young woman with a very small cute puppy. There are no signs anywhere saying animals aren't allowed so nobody seemed to mind except towards the end when she had already ordered and was getting ready to pay. A random man behind her started yelling at the employees saying not to serve her because the dog was a health violation. Which it isn't. None of the employees seemed to know what was going on or even the true rules of the establishment. Long story short the manager came out and tried to put in her opinion when it was already too late. Did not control the situation whatsoever. I will not be coming back to this location again. Not worth your money.

Chipotle is Chipotle, you come here for the food and get out. The food is delicious. The guacamole is well maintained. I think this is an older establishment so it was a bit run down compared to other ones. There is plenty of parking if you open your feelings to parking farther way or entering from the back door. During lunch, they were well staffed so I didn't have to wait in line that long, but seating was a bit difficult.

  • Stacey K.

The food portion that they give you does not compare to other Chipotle places I've gone to. They give you so little. All of the workers just looked like they didn't give a damn and they don't even try to listen to what you want. I asked for no juice and somehow the person didn't even bother to take 2 seconds to drain out the juice and because of that juice was dripping from my bag.

On my most recent visit to Chippy, I was not too happy. The line was pretty long (well, it was 6:30 pm...) and the staff was not as generous as they have been in the past. I decided to ask for two different types of meat: Steak and Barb as the gentleman in front of me asked for Steak and Chicken. I thought that was pretty cool and never looked at Chipotle with Subway capabilities. Since the Steak and the Barbacoa are the same price, I was given half portions of both for the price of one. As BP pointed out, if I had asked for Steak and Chicken, I would have paid for the more expensive meat: Steak. So anyway, was this my mistake? I don't know... One day, I hope I work up the courage to hackthemenu.com/chipotle…

I love chipotle but this location lacks a sense of urgency. The line here is ALWAYS long, like wraps around the whole place kinda long. and the employees don't seem to enjoy their job too much... It's always so slow. Get it together chipotle! every other chipotle around the area serves their customers way quicker than this even with a long line.

If you have low expectations of how everything just about in regards to SERVICE is done then this would be the place to go. When the lines are long, and even when they are not they don't seem to care about nothing. Who do we have working back there? It ain't nothing to leave somebody's food out in the open for several minutes at a time, while others are coughing and doing all types of things back there and in front of the little buffet. It ain't anything to see the manager pushing a garbage can around and hop in line to help serve the food without washing hands and then run to register. Needless to say, we will NEVER go and visit this location ever. GREAT service is still out there and alive at Chipotle, just not this one! After going with the flow and being lenient and still making the purchase... we decided to not to even eat the food we bought. Two bowls trashed... better there then in our tummies! Their processes come to think about it... is sickening and just thinking about it was a quick turn off! And the service from the humans to humans is non-existent outside of what would refer to as un-rememberable experience. 1 star for EXTREMELY poor everything... no worries about getting it together as we will ...REPEAT... never be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
