"...And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil". - Matthew 6:9-13 The evil of severely subpar American-Chinese delivery, that is. Szechuan Wok ain't cooking up our coveted authentic Asian eats. They're the Holy Rollers of dine-in/carryout/delivery, wok sauteed, stir fried & filleted, only slightly slippery Americanized Chinese treats. Located in the Cherryvale Plaza near Aldi's. The menu's varied though you won't find anything too unfamiliar, extravagant or "exotic". Items include seafood, beef, lamb, chicken, vegetarian dishes, and soups including the sinus draining Hot & Sour soup ($1.80 pt). And 4 fried chicken wings ($5.95) seemingly seasoned with Asian spices served with either white or fried rice. Their Pork Lo Mein ($6.50 pt) is a personal addiction. Sweet, tender cuts of roasted pork, plentiful noodles with robust taste & texture, fair amount of 'shrooms & chopped onion. Maybe a lil fatty on the meat here & there, but that's the flavor, no? The Shrimp Egg Foo Young ($9.50 qt) can be heavy on the human gastrointestinal tract. Both dishes lean towards the greasier side of life. Not drenched. Still good. Portions on all meals are generous. And while the Crabmeat Wonton app ($5.95 for 6) can be tender in the middle it's recently become too "crisp", (i.e. hard), on the edges & heavier on the cream cheese than the crab. But the BBQ Ribs ($6.25 for 6) with sesame sauce never let me down. Of course, General Tso ($7.50 sm) is here. And the saucy devil's way more spicy than sweet. "And it was...good." -Genesis 1:31 It's not gourmet fare, but delightful. I've certainly found no reason to recite a Hail Mary or three to cleanse my soul from the guilt of eating inauthentic. The Wok's a comfy, yummy ritual of mine when craving familiar dishes of the AmerAsian persuasion. And no MSG. Free delivery within a 4 mile radius in under 45 minutes with a $10 minimum for lunch and a $15 minimum for dinner. "With most American-Chinese dine-in/carryout/delivery above average fare is impossible; but to Szechuan Wok things are possible". -Matthew 19:26 (kinda) Preach it, Szechuan Wok. Preach it. 3.5 stars overall

This has been a local Reisterstown favorite of mine for probably twenty years or more. The reason? They are pretty consistent with good solid Chinese carry-out style food. Sometimes when I'm hungry for a very casual Chinese dinner, I will go in, order, and sit down at one of the tables in the back and eat there. Very extensive menu. I love the chicken vegetable wrap. They also have a sushi bar, which is more for show because I have not seen anyone sit there for years. The sushi is adequate to have with the meal, although I would not seek this place out if all you want is sushi.

This is some of the best Chinese food in Owings Mills. They have really excellent orange chicken and tofu. The chicken lo mein is really good too. The crispy noodles are amazing. The atmosphere may be lacking, but the food is definitely amazing!!!! I love almost everything I order from here

Been here a few times. Service is ok, food is good if u want something quick. They'll usually have it done in less than 15 mins. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad.....

I have gotten food here since I was 13, I'm almost 23. I have never gotten something that I didn't enjoy. They family who own it are so nice! They are ALL about their customers. Once I forgot to ask for no veggies, they re-made my food 5 minutes before they closed. They are just the sweetest! I moved to Westminster for a few years and, as pathetic as this sounds, I missed the food. Ordering from here is not a mistake! They are all around amazing :)

I work close to this place so it's my go to take out Chinese while in Owings Mills. Place is clean. The food is hot and fresh. Nothing fancy but for takeout it's pretty darn good.

This is our go to place for Chinese in Owings Mills. We've tried several other places but this one is the best. We get take out and utilize the delivery option quite often but have never actually eaten in restaurant. The staff is friendly but of course our interaction has been minimal. I love all of their soups and the Amazing Chicken and Moo Shoo are the jam. Reliable, fast, affordable, consistent AND they delivery. I'm a fan!

Szechuan restaurant but the Mabo tofu was not close to authentic and completely lacked heat and flavor. That accompanied with the flavorless pork fried rice means no return trip for us. The crystal wonton soup was relatively mediocre.

You order your food first and there is free tea and they made everything really easy and quick. Also best some of the best dumplings I have ever had!

I have been eating here for years. Clean restaurant, nice people, great tasting food, and extra fast delivery. I tell people about this place all the time. Their sushi is very good. Love sitting at bar eating sushi because it's so quiet and peaceful. A++++ Jennifer Broadwater

Quality food, good portions, and price is right. I usually order orange chicken or kung pao chicken and it is phenomenal. They have plenty of cashews and vegetables mixed in. Furthermore, you can order a side of extra rice for like a buck more. Two meals in one!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
