This is my first 1 star review. I used to call in and place takeout orders with my family often from Wing Wah. People talk about how the place is worn down and the upkeep is non-existent (don't just take my word on that, look at the other reviews). Well, that should have been a huge warning! But I was familiar with the place and the food was always good. It is average Chinese food, nothing special but it was local and familiar when I lived in Pikesville. So anyway, I was with my sister and decided to eat in one day, things were going well. We were talking and laughing and enjoying the fish tank and eating. Everything was normal until we looked down while eating and a roach was on the table. The waitress saw us looking at it. Without hesitation she walked over and killed it ON OUR TABLE and she smiled with a little laugh and walked away into the kitchen while talking to the people in the back. After the shock wore off and we stared at each other like, "did that really just happen", we were done! We've never been back since!

Wing Wah is hands-down the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Our constant "go to" place for take-out.

So Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen, but Wing Wah puts them all to shame. We came here for Xmas dinner because that's what Jews do. It was packed, but the wait didn't seem long. This family run treasure definitely called in reinforcements for its busiest night of the year to keep everything moving. We started with steamed vegetable dumplings and egg drop soup. Both were good, but the homemade crisps were great. My boyfriend had sesame chicken that must have been imported from fairytale land because the chunks of chicken were at least 4 bites a piece. They were very tender and delicious as well. Per my waitress's recommendation I went with the bone-in roasted duck. It was so awesome that my boyfriend couldn't keep his hands off of them! We finished off our meal with yummy peppermint ice cream and good fortunes for the road. Everyone should find a great Chinese place to give their loyalties to, and Wing Wah is definitely mine!

Just moved to this area about a month ago from the DC Metro area and I have to say that this "Chinese" food was disappointing. Ordered Shrimp with lobster sauce and sweet and sour pork. Also ordered hot and sour soup and a egg drop soup. When you get an order to-go the soup is like one cups worth of soup. Very small portion for the soup. Both soups were OK but nothing fantastic. The egg roll was tasty. To-Go container is portioned out so that one side has the pork fried rice which wasn't very good and was hard and the other side had the entree. Shrimp with lobster sauce was nothing special. The sweet and sour pork may not have even been fully cooked since there was some pink in the meat. They did put the sweet and sour sauce separate so you could dunk in the meat. The batter for the pork was standard fair. I don't know what the other people order but for these two Americanized Chinese dishes they weren't that great.

My love affair with Wing Wah has ended. Went there the other night, new ownership, new wait staff. Lousy service. The food was almost - but not quite - as good as it used to be so, really, there's no reason to come back. Spare ribs were average. Egg roll was not nearly as good as it used to be. Relatively small portion of fried rice and not as much "stuff" in it. Shrimp and lobster sauce was still good but it seemed like not many shrimp. Combination Egg Foo Young was fabulous but not enough to bring me back. Sorry, Wing Wah. No more.

*Update* For years, Wing Wah had been one of my got chinese food restaraunts, and has since been a place I avoid. not sure what changed about the place, but the food is all bland and lesser quality. Their egg rolls and duck sauce are the only reasons this place still gets 2 stars from me. Won't be going here very often anymore.

Yes I know. It's old. The booths have broken springs with worn out vinyl. And yes, this is the restaurant your grandma went to. And yes, the average age of those dining in may be north of 70. Yes, you do have to park in the back (and not on Jiffy lube's lot unless you want to be towed and pay an very high fine (per the signs on the door) just to get your car back. Yes, you do have to enter from the back meaning you walk through a dingy hallway past the bathrooms to get to the dining area. But you need to overlook all that and concentrate on the food (usually why I order carry out and not eat in at Wing Wah). Because their food is THAT good. Won Ton soup like you remember from your youth. Homemade duck sauce - available for purchase (though why you want to purchase it is another story). The BEST chow mein you've ever had. Some oldies but goodies that are hard to find, such as Butterfly Shrimp with Bacon in an egg batter. And really good sauce to put on it, not just pink globs, but real flavor. Excellent friend rice. The best Chow Fun you'll ever eat. Do not go an expect amazing food in styles other than the original Cantonese we grew up in. The northern province's of China are represented, but I think this is where Wing Wah fails. Not that those dishes are bad, rather that they are generic. So go to WIng Wah. Stay if you see your 'old' friends. Or do the carry out and reminisce about the days before all carry out Chinese food tastes the same.

Despite the aged interior and more aged clientele, this is a super awesome Chinese restaurant. All the chefs specialties are amazing, but the thing that makes me drive all the way across town to come here is the barbecue spare ribs. Meaty, tender, and with Just the right amount of sauce, these ribs will make you want to come back for your next meal. And the one after that. And the one after that. Parking is behind the restaurant but you have to go through an archway in the building to get to it.

Eaten here many times over the years. Always take out. The interior is very drab and old, but the food is decent. While they are missing a favorite on their menu (Gen. Tso Chicken) they do have homemade hot mustard and duck sauce which you can't find many places now. We don't get very exotic dishes- lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, wonton soup, eggrolls they are usually tasty.

Loaded with MSG. dirty. Bad service. Save your money. If you like your Chinese food drenched in grease, then this is your place. Many bad experiences here and there are much better Chinese choices in the area including Jumbo seafood and mr. Chan.

Yelp doesnt always deliver and this was the moment. Although 3 reviews gave this place a 5 with one reviewer giving it a 2 star. The 2 star review is more indicative of the food quality here. I was confused by the hot and sour soup which tasted like there were two table spoons of sugar in there. I had a "huh?" moment because it tasted nothing like a hot and sour soup. There was absolutely zero flavor in the chicken dish nor the noodle dish that we had. The 5 star reviews are all from 2012 and perhaps something has changed. There are couple of chinese places here in Pikesville which are far superior today.
