I totally love this place. I had the salmon with mushroom potatoes, crispy manti, eggplant salad, mushroom soup, bread and a Plov. I gave the staff feedback about the naan bread. It's pretty good except it is probably warmed in the microwave so they brought fresh bread warren in the regular over. Big difference!! and I'm very appreciative how they listen to feedback. I will keep coming back over and over again. The staff and the owners are awesome!
I've been here several times, once at the old location and two times at the new, larger site in the same area. You have to be prepared for the fact that Silk Road is a favorite of the local Russian community and every time I have been here there was a big, good natured, loud party of about 30 people swilling vodka (BYO) in amounts I could not imagine. In the new larger space, there is room for dancing and that happens too as the night goes on. This is a loud, cheerful place, but not for an intimate, quiet meal. If you're OK with that (I am), this is a great place. Food comes in small plates, you can order kabobs individually and get a variety of meats. Rice dishes are deliciously savory. Don't miss the salads too, especially the one with the carrot threads. Prices are fairly low, so order a bunch of small plates and several types of kabobs and share them around the table. Even when there is a big party, you probably won't wait too long for food. I can't speak for what Uzbek food is like generally, but if this is representative, it's really delicious. I liked everything I had each time I have come and really enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Don't miss it.
Wonderful new location! Love the Central Asian themed decor and nice big space, though wish it had more natural light. The central floor is so big I'm wondering if they have parties here on weekend nights, I'll have to come back to find out.... The food was also great - super authentic, good portions, reasonably priced. I was especially pleased to have some fresh kompot juice, with blueberries in it and all! As a Russian-American always looking for more home-style options in the area, this is a good one!

My favorite sandwich spot! I usually get the corned beef, slaw, and thousand island dressing on rye and it's fan-freaking-tastic. This sandwich is huge and packed with fresh ingredients. The $9.99 special is totally worth it but you might need a nap after or try to save half! The staff is really nice and the store also has wonderful chocolates!
Simply put, as GREAT as it gets. I was in Pikeville around lunchtime and asked a client for a good Deli. Without hesitation she said Edmart. I had the corned beef, coleslaw and Russian dressing on rye lunch special for $9.99 w/chips and soda. Full, lean, creamy and incredibly flavorful; and, I am an expert on corned beef for 50+ years! Whether DC (Bassin's, Hofberg's or Parkway) or Baltimore (Attman's for sure), this is as good as it gets. Be sure to save a few extra minutes to speak to Shelley and learn the history. Be sure to ask her for a Ginger cookie!
I love Mom and Pop shops; they are so dope. There is always so much history and in my experience the owners are always so very cool. Edmart is located on Reisterstown Road, signage isn't that big, can't say that it is too easy to spot from the road. Parking is metered, there are a couple of spots out front of the store. Once inside, you have an awesome deli. Everything in the fridge section is house made, and then there is the deli section. The menu has about 8-10 sandwiches... on this date, I got the smoked turkey breast on a Kaiser roll. This sandwich was so very fresh, I haven't had a sandwich that fresh in some time. The lunch special is pretty good, sandwich, chips, and soda for less than 10 bucks. The store has been in the family for over 60 years and they make sure to learn your name! I love it! If I'm ever in the area I'm going back. Yummers!

Worst deli ever. I once went in and asked for a knish and u was told by the owner and his wife they were out if knishes. I told them they may wanna change the name of the business. The place needs a make over. Just because it is kosher doesn't mean the place can't be cleaned up. I would go to Accents over this dump!!!
I was led here by a fellow tribesmen, even though I've driven past this place a million times. I haven't had what I would call a "good knish" in forever, though I've had plenty of what are called and passed off as "knishes". He promised me the Knishes were for real and man was he right. I had the kasha knish to take it old-school, and it was just sublime. The crust was substantial but not too doughy, the filling was shockingly light and really tasty. I'm used to these fercockt, potato-ey, heavy affairs, which this was not. I couldn't wait for the thing to cool down to finish it. So now I have a sore on the roof of my mouth and it was totally worth it. I'll be back soon and hopefully often.
I am surprised to see so many positive reviews when my experience was SO mediocre. I picked up a takeout meal before a flight: sandwich (pastrami & corned beef sub), pickle, and chips. It's a knish joint so I had to get a knish. Potato. I'm one of those who "never met a potato I didn't like". So obviously this will be a winner. Ate on the plane. Sandwich: Nothing special. Coulda been a ham sandwich. Knish: terrible, mealy, no flavor. I didn't take more than 2 bites, couldn't bear to eat any more. I doubt I would return

OK first let me say I am not sure if this is the right one cause they have 2 locations and I have only been to one had my husband drives so I don't really pay attention but either way the food was good. I really like the Shrimp Bis soup and the taco platter I get one lingua and one Lamb which is you have a lamb taco you are good with me. Both are well seasoned and they give you beans and rice and fixing with it. I plan to try the lamb shank one day when he budget can afford a $28 plate.
It's been two year since I last reviewed Mari Luna Mexican Grill. This restaurant remains one of my favorites. Great dishes that go beyond the typical tex-mex. The matamoros steak, grouper in a tortilla crust, and the best Ceviche in town. The prices remain very low as the owner has a higher end and higher priced (though still reasonable) just up the road. I had the Ceviche and two tacos - steak and lingua (tongue) tonight and they were both wonderful. I'd love to see the chef do something with a main course beef tongue. It is rarely served anywhere but when done right it is absolutely delicious. (Orchard Cafe in Timonium has tongue on the menu).
I've heard so many good things about Mari Luna and it was literally the worst dining experience I've ever had in my life. And my table of 6 other people agreed. The biggest problem was our server. We knew things would be bad when we still hadn't received our guacamole after 20 minutes and then she came back out to retake our entire order. We arrived just as the Sunday brunch buffet was ending (it looked really good, sorry I missed it) and there had also been some type of party going on, so perhaps that threw them off...? They did not have salteñas that day and that was something that a couple of people in our group were really looking forward to ordering. The food took ages to come out. We were there for over 2 hours because the service was so incredibly slow that day. And then, no extra pico, beets on a salad when it was requested without beets, hair in the salad, dry meat (steak and chicken), just totally unimpressive food. I'm sure our experience would have been more positive if we had a better server but with so many other average Mexican restaurants to choose from, I won't be giving this place a second chance.

(03/01/2011) Went by to pick up a quick lunch. Cute little place, lots of choices for the size, clean and bright. I had a chicken salad sub with lettuce, tomato, raw red onion, and hots. The sub was on a fresh hoagie roll, good size, tangy filling (more like Miracle Whip, less like mayonnaise). My dining companion had the California chicken wrap. The wrap was a sundried tomato tortilla, which she said was nice, avocado underripe (but hey, it's February and it's Baltimore), nice portion of chicken, but whole thing overwhelmed by Dijon honey mustard. Reasonably priced and friendly people. Would def go back, if wandering by that way.

Great variety of bagels and delicious sandwiches. I am not a coffee drinker, but absolutely love their ice coffee in the warmer weather. Staff is friendly, efficient it the store is always clean. Easy access off 695 to grab a quick delicious meal.
I'm a big fan of Goldberg's but I had to check this place out based solely on all the very positive reviews. Honestly, I don't see myself coming back and here's why: 1) 15 mins to get a toasted bagel with nova spread to go - what? It wasn't crazy busy, they somehow filled the to-go order of the lady who came in minutes after me, and the staff acted like it was no big deal to skip over orders. 2) The longer I stood waiting for my order, the more I noticed how dirty the place was. (See my added photos) Granted Goldberg's isn't spotless either, but you don't have old coffee grinds sitting in an uncovered trash can out in front of the self serve coffee station with a broom beside it. It looked and more importantly smelled foul. 3) My bagel and spread were fine; better than a typical store bought but not the best. The bagel had good flavor but wasn't as thick and chewy as I would have liked. I also thought the nova flavor in the cream cheese was fairly mild. I think I'm sticking with my tried and true bagel place down the street...
I've been interested in trying a bagel with cream cheese and lox for the longest time. I love all 3 ingredients separately and figured it was time to try this infamous breakfast! Prior to a week ago, I would have never thought twice about the name of this place. But after watching one of those travel channel foodie shows, I learned that Brooklyn is known for the best bagels simply because they use the city water to make them. Not sure if this place "imports" Brooklyn water, but the name is next level foodie and I dig it. I ordered a poppyseed bagel because I was feeling dangerous and of course the cream cheese and lox. They asked if I wanted tomato and onion so I was like sure why not?! I was not disappointed! Everything was so fresh and the flavor combo was exactly what I expected and my teeth were black with the seeds at the end. But I didn't care... I was super happy and smiling anyway :)

Not sure what happened here. I hope someone see this from the restaurant. Gen Tso Chicken is suppose to be a spicy chicken dish, the last 2 times I have had it here it tasted like a ketchup sauce. There were no hot red peppers. Mr Chan, time to step up your game.
Ordered carry out there for the first time two days ago. I ordered the Pad Thai noodles with shrimp, chicken wonton soup and two spring rolls. All were very good with one exception...the Pad Thai noodle dish had mushrooms, red peppers and snow peas in it. I am accustomed to Pad Thai noodles absent of each of those ingredients but instead, with sprouts and cilantro. The soup and spring roll were both very good. In addition, the shrimp were jumbo and they did not skimp on the portion. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal which I shared with my 20 yr old son. I will return and dine in on my next visit. And since I love Pad Thai noodles, I will just ask them to omit the ingredients that I didn't care for and ask that they just add the two that were missing. I am sure that they won't object. Lastly, as for the friendliness...the gentlemen standing at the counter who took my order was extremely pleasant. I suppose it can be a very different story when you dine in. I'll report back after my dine-in experience.
Coming from nyc, this food is mediocre at best. We ordered deluxe fried rice (beef, chicken and shrimp) and orange chicken. The Orange Chicken is real white Meat and was tasty ...i liked that but it was awfully dry, it needed more gravy. The rice was ok it could use more flavor...it was nothing to write home about.

I came here with a group of three for the Sunday morning for brunch. This is by far the best brunch I've ever had. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. I'm will be coming back again very soon!!!!
We went here twice, once I had the skirt steak which was recommended by the waiter. It was a good size and had pretty good flavor. The second time we had the buffet brunch which had quite a variety and included unlimited mimosas.
OMG, the Sunday brunch is soooo good. They have everything. I loved the ceviche and the waffles are so light and fluffy and don't get me started on the lamb yummy. I will say get their early cause parking is limited and its pricy at $ 27 but they have great food oh and the lobster bisque is to die for OMG free mimosa included
