Rum soaked banana french bread. ....need I say more? I'd never been here before, I was just passing through trying to get something hot for breakfast and I saw the sign, loved the little store ....but the fresh made food inside is divine .

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at home last Sunday and ordered two Maine lobsters from Gourmet Again. After some very disappointing experiences in other places, what a wonderful surprise this was! The lobsters were of a nice size, fresh and full, steamed to perfection timed just before pickup and packed in a heat preserving container to take home. The service was most friendly - all in all a good experience. Thank you Gourmet Again! We shall certainly be back to try some of your other offerings!

Charming 'lil grocery and deli with a big salad/cold bar, pastry counter, homemade entrees, and liquor open on Sundays. Limited grocery, dairy, and meats.

There are really a few different parts to this delightful place. You have a grocery area, a deli, a bakery, and then the cafe. The grocery area has a mix of the typical things sold, with a few specialties such as the fresh olive oil you can pour yourself, kosher foods, and a surprisingly large alcohol selection. The deli has a section for behind the counter stuff, such as mac and cheese and stuffed veggies. They also have a bar type counter that you can scoop yourself some of the items such as couscous salad and ambrosia salad (which is DELISH). The bakery has a ton of items, however I've not had the chance to order any for sampling. The cafe has a seating area that you can go to and enjoy your purchases. The sandwiches from the counter are all fresh made and delicious. Massive points on the Israeli salad.

Love this place and every time I visit my family in MD, I make sure to stop by and pick up an array of awesome foods. My favorite is the rainbow cake. I'd love to know how that's made so I can cook it for my family in NY. I can't find it anywhere outside of MD

I'm not sure what this place is -- most of it seems like a small grocery store, but there's a sitting area to eat. I guess it was and maybe is still a deli and they're branching out into general groceries? Except everything here you can get at the chain grocery store that's in the same shopping complex right behind them, for 30% cheaper. Maybe they're targeting people who just need to pick up a couple items and don't mind spending $4 for an onion, in exchange for the convenience of getting to park right in front and not having to wait in lines. I don't know. The deli meat they sell is the same Boar's head as in large grocery stores so nothing special there. They do sell alcohol though (and are open on Sundays) so that part is unique. I haven't had their sandwiches so can't comment on that. Maybe that's their main business? I just don't see a reason to shop here otherwise, not for groceries anyway.

Reincarnated Gourmet Deli. Good but not as good as it used to be. Try their kosher hot dogs with fried baloney

OK it's Sunday. I walk into thestore to get a crabcake and some deli. At least 4 employees standing around schmoozing with each other and/or a couple of customers. Absolutely no acknowledgement that I am standing at the prep food counter until a (very rude) customer says "She's over here doing something else." At least 3 employees hear this remark and the tone in which it was made. No one says a word to me like "Oh someone will be right with you". Walk to the deli counter; guy stares at me until I tell him what I would like. Not one word of acknowledgement during the entire transaction. Walk back to prep food. Rude customer says "She came over but you were gone". Again no one who actually works there ever says a word until I get to the cashier who was actually very nice. Pay for what I got at the deli counter NEVER TO RETURN. I have known the Pressman's all my life. Sorry folks. There are too many gourmet places around where people are nice to you.

Ordered a rather large lunch for the office...FAXED it over... with exactly what we wanted..and what type of bread and what toppings...we get it..and we are missing 4 items. So i call, they bring back 3 of them... then the delivery driver calls and now he has to go back and get the 4h item. In the mean time. ALL the frys were cold as ice...my own particular shrimp salad has NO taste way too much mayo..and is on the wrong bread. Talk about a waste of money....

Gourmet again is a special place (not only for pikesville but for the entire Baltimore area). Born in the late 90s, gourmet is a landmark destination. It was THE spot for homemade dishes, salads and deli treats long before the days of whole foods, Wegmans or trader joes. This place is a family owned business that doesn't sell itself out to generic brands or pre-made dishes. Everything sold here is homemade from the mashed potatoes to the shrimp salad. Early last year, the place was bought out by a guy whose been working here (on and off) for the last 15 years. To say he has his heart and money in the business would be an understatement. Let's just say this young man is doing everything he can to ensure gourmet's lifespan last for decades to come. My advice to you: let gourmet again cater your next event. I promise, you won't be disappointed. I can't count the number of events my family has had gourmet cater. From the corned beef sandwiches to the meatballs and kabobs everything here is homemade and delicious. Again, this is one of the last true gourmets of Baltimore. It is a genuine family operation with a ton of deliciously prepared entrees, a build your own salad bar, and lots of Jewish treats for the holidays (rainbow cake, matzah brittle and macaroons are to die for). They have quite a few top quality "shelf" items as well including their own brand of bottled sauces!Just be sure to ask for Andy when you go in next time. Tell him you read this review and that you want the best of what gourmet has to offer. I guarantee you won't be swayed wrong.

(11/22/2012) Had the Rainbow Cake at a Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's. Apparently, it's a long-standing family tradition for them. I'd never seen one before (not being from around these parts). It's certainly, ummm, festively colorful. Cake was moist, hint of vanilla, but somewhat doughy; layered thinly with a fudgy chocolate icing. Lots of flash, not much bang.

Just tried Gourmet Again after many years of seeing its store come and go under the similar name. Good food but the guy with the beard who takes and prepares your order could learn manners and customer service. Welcome to Pikesville huh? Anyway the cafe is where you take your food to eat and for my money I would rather go where they offer service, friendliness and on yes turn on the heat everyone fining in there was freezing !

Maybe I'm a little bias as this is my uncle's business in Maryland and my cousin is one of the managers too! But this quaint gourmet shop has everything you need to make your grocery shopping trip complete even has fresh product, a extremely great deli counter, a premium salad bar and a meat counter to get your weekly meat along with special cooking recipes from either my cousin or another savvy man in an apron back there. My personal favorite sandwich is the Zip Code sandwich which is their specialty not found on any other coast but in Pikesville Maryland. This Sandwich is call the "21208" and it's right below their other specialty sandwich on their menu - the "Chopped Chicken Liver" sandwich...you may twinge, but I was raised on that one... just consider that a pate sandwich. The wait for the 21208 is a bit long but well worth the wait. They take freshly skinless, boneless chicken breast and grill with sweet onions and red peppers. Once the chicken is grilled to perfection, they drizzle honey mustard on the grilled bun, add a slice of Havarti cheese and some lettuce and BAM!... the 21208 is ready with it hot gooey goodness to be devoured and amazingly enough, it doesn't drip down your hands. That deserves 5 stars in my Book! Thanks Uncle Harold and Cousin Michael.
