For the price Three Brothers is a Greenbelt institution. Living in the area my whole life I remember when this location first open in the 70s. To me the pizza was always ok. But what I would come back for over and over again was the calzones. They are big and stuffed filled with meat and cheese. It is not gourmet food by any means, but a very decent place to grab a good fast hot meal. And I am sorry to say one of the brothers Pete just recently passed away. He was very generous to the local Community and a hard worker behind the counter everyday serving customers.

I've been coming here for over 25 years. Even with its semi-fast food service, this is one of my all-time favorite Italian eateries. The sauce makes the food--and it makes an incredible pizza as well as incredible pasta dishes. For the money, these guys can't be beat. The Beltway Plaza restaurant is the original location. I know they've licensed out franchises, and I've tried some of these other locations. They're OK, but nothing beats the original.

My husband and I visited this location the other day. I ordered Chicken Parmesan and he ordered the Lasagna. The sauce was very watery and my spaghetti could have been cooked a little longer (it was harder than al dente). Neither of us were impressed. Sorry, maybe it was a bad day there. The help were pleasant and the ladies bathroom was clean but had an overwhelming smell of Clorox.

From the main drag of the downscale Beltway Plaza mall, all you see is a slice counter and a restaurant with a standard Italian-American menu at moderate prices. But locals know that there is a bar in the back with beer on draft and in iced bottles, a bit of wine, and a raw bar. I started with steamed mussels, $6.99 for a dozen and a half. The bivalves were fresh, cooked just through, sweet, tender and juicy. The thing was that there was no additional flavor from a braising broth, just lemon to squeeze and a ramekin of melted butter. That might actually be a good thing, as the mussels had no flaws to hide, but not what most people would expect. My appetite whetted, I went on to fried oysters and french fries, also $6.99. A very generous potion for the price, about 10 medium oysters, crisp on the outside and just right on the inside, The fries probably started out commercial given their crinkle cut and uniform size, but (anyone seeing a pattern here?) were crisp on the outside and almost creamy on the inside. Now if you stop by and Brian is working that day you are in luck. He gave me a sample of his personal recipe crab cake. I'm petty sure by that time he knew he was being Yelped, but those who have read my reviews know I call it like I taste it. And being a Maryland boy, my bar for crab cakes is very high. It was a true shore style mix, no discernible filler, all backfin, and (all together now) crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. In other words, as good as it can get without being close enough to the dock to get unpasteurized crab (Waterman's in OC). Brian told me he makes up only one batch per day and when they're gone they're gone. Clams and oysters are live on ice (see photo) and can be ordered raw or steamed. Shrimp and crab leg are also available. So here's another hidden gem, a fine place to stop by when you want a taste of the Bay without the long drive and crowds. There's plenty of room and the regulars won't mind a bit.

The ORIGINAL Three Brothers. This is where it began. Always liked the subs, etc. Even after they expanded, they kept the quality great! I have to say, I've been in many Three Brothers....To me, they're all very good. I would recommend.

This is my #1 type of pizza I crave. I've been coming here for over 35 years. Now that the mall is pretty much trash, I'll only order carryout, but I still can't get enough of this pizza. I've had their pizza at other locations and it doesn't taste the same as this one. I hope the pizza retains it's integrity since learning one of the original owners passed away. But I'll drive from northern Virginia to greenbelt for this pizza.

**** (5/5) IMPRESSION **** I grew up eating at this place, Everytime I've visited this location or the sister locations - the pizza's have always been delicious! **** (5/5) AMBIANCE **** Reminds me of the old style Italian Pizza Restaurants. This was one (I believe) was the original location. They opened other branches (including Rockville). But, the Rockville location was closed last time I tried to go there a few years ago. I'm delighted to hear that this is still around and will be coming back here again. (Being in CA now - it's tough to get a good slice of pizza)

Mainly about the bar. Tucked the back of Beltway Plaza (where there is sheltered parking) is the original Three Brothers Restaurant & Catering. OK, as I have written in the past, Beltway Plaza is not a prepossessing location at all. So if looking you must have a certain refined ambience at all times ... why the devil are you in Beltsville? Back to the landscapes of Rockville with you. Now, we regularly get carry out pizza or stop by for a slice when we're in the area at lunch time. But I wanted to put in a word for their bar. It is a nice, no frills bar that has never been more than office conversation loud when we have gone. There's a few TV's showing sports, if that's your thing, but they are on mute. There is a decent selection of beers and you can order food from the regular menu or the bar's seafood menu. Oysters, gimme! The bartenders have been there for ages and actually chat with the patrons. Zounds! And no one has bolted a bunch of fake crab pots the insides of a combine harvester to the walls. The only downside is the place closes earlish, I think 9 pm. But still definitely a place to check if you want a quiet place for a meal and a drink.

This Three Brothers has been around a long time and it's one of the nicer ones. Lots of table space and a bar. I don't think it sells the hard stuff but beer and wine, for sure. The downside is that it's in a mall that is getting a little run down. Still the pizza is good and the subs are tasty. It's just food and beverages. There are a couple of other Three Brothers locations that have a huge dessert selection and the one in Riverdale has an Italian market in it. Nice place. Iffy mall.

Whats up with the bad reviews... I've visited this location which of course was the first, literally 200 times in it's history and never once had a bad meal. They've expanded the menu over time but I haven't been able to pass up on the Calzones (either Spinach or Pepperoni), the Meatball Sub, and of course the Pizza. I prefer the Neapolitan but the Sicilian is very good as well. Used to work for a guy who ordered their Tuna Sub at least 3 times a week. Look, this place is so good there are weasels in another state who have stolen their name, and to some extent their menu. If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, then where does a place stand that has been straight up ripped off? Yay! I'm a fan.

The food is really very good--nothing too complex or out of the ordinary, but always fresh ingredients and cooked properly. Easily, easily better than anything served at any of the Mama Lucia locations and everything is literally half the price. My only complaint, which is surprising for an Italian restaurant, is that the pizza is really awful. The Sicilian is essentially an inch-thick piece of toast with toppings, but always tastes more like a dog biscuit than pizza because of the terribly dry crust. The Neopolitan pizza is ALWAYS incredibly greasy, irrespective of what variety you order. It, too, has virtually no flavor. You would think that for an Italian place a good pizza would be a no-brainer, but not here.

The original location for Three Brothers Pizza. Haven't been here in years but I have fond memories of the pizza here - great NY style pizza with a garlicky tomato sauce. YUM. When I'm back in town I will head to either this location or the Beltsville/Laurel location for a couple slices. And yes, we all know Beltway Plaza sucks. It's been this way for at least 20 years. Get over it.

I can only say that this location (Beltway Plaza) has the worst food and worst ambiance for a sit down, even for a mall setting. I have eaten at the BP location off and on for the last 8 yrs.-- HOPING for better food, yet never an improvement. My friends catered from that location two months ago -- still no improvement. At any time, your pasta will be MUSHY, the sauce is run-of-the-mill, salads dripping in water and tasteless, cheese doesn't even look like the real thing so my guess it that it might be imitation "cheese", the lasagna and other classics on the menu are just melded pieces of sauce and noodles-but you cannot discern the taste from one dish to the other. The cheese and the cheese+pepperoni pizza is a bump up from the rest of the menu but not memorable enough to earn a better rating. You feel hungry after you eat there, because their products are not made from quality foodstuffs. Even decent corner bistro's have better fare. Sad that this place is not serving decent food to those of us who know what REAL FOOD tastes like, yet charging us for what we think is good cheese, dough, pasta and salad. I will never go back there again. It is a waste of time and money.

Located in Beltway Plaza, Three Brothers offers a variety of Italian dishes. I came here during lunch time, and there was a decent crowd in there. It looks like a nice little hang out spot. However, my eating experience didn't go well. I called in my order for a calzone to pick it up. This was probably the worst calzone ever. There was barely any meat inside, and the worst part? the cheese inside it was RAW. You know that cheesy goodness you're suppose to get when break off a piece? well the cheese in this calzone just fell on the plate. That's just unacceptable. Needless to say, I was still hungry and felt like I was ripped off. First impressions are important, and even though in most scenarios I'm willing to give a place a second chance, it won't be the case here. Looking back, I kind of wish I had taken it back and showed them the crap they were selling, or at least taken a picture of it. But I had to get back to work. I doubt I'll be back here again.

FOOD POISONING!! Went in with my family for a late lunch on Wednesday, December 19th, 2012 and ordered a couple slices of pizza and a turkey sub. My six yr old ate the pizza and me and my husband shared the sub. Seemed fine until we went home and later that night, my husband was sick in the bathroom. Next morning, I was sick. The only thing we had eaten was the sub. Never going there again. I'm so disappointed. This use to be my go-to place inside the mall. So convenient. But not worth it now.

This place is one of my favorite pizzas. I got a slice of the Siciiain and a Cold Cut combo with fries. Sicilian slice was only warm. They did not warm it up long enough. The cold cut sub had good meats but the bun was porportionally bigger than the meats. They could have put the ketchup packets on my tray instead of under the sub.! I went to the counter to get fries and didn't realize the ketchup was already on my plate hiding under the sub touching my bun. fries were good. I sat there with friends for hours chatting and was not hassled by any employees which was nice. We also chose this place because it had garaged parking within 20 yards. and it was a rainy day. I will go back and hopefully the pizza will be hotter. I haven't had any bad neopolian pizza yet. I'll stick with that.

The food here is simply bad Italian-American food. It is also not cheap enough to treat as a fast food restaurant, so it really has no redeeming qualities. There are no free refills to go along with their high-sodium menu. The cheese they use is the worst quality I've ever had. Their "healthy" selections on the menu aren't that healthy. I usually base my judgment of food on taste, price, and health--it fails on all three. The other factor would be the atmosphere which is a sad fail too at Greenbelt/Beltway Plaza.

I went there yesterday with my family not even knowing the name of the place and was super pleased with the food...OMG!!! I'm pregnant and picky but that was the best pizza I've had in years...Seriously like 20 years. I googled the name today so I can get pizza delivered to my house. You've gotta try this place!!!!

This is the original and my personal favorite for decently priced Italian food --yes, Rockvillian's, Mamma Lucia is NOT decently priced. It's located in the rear or Beltway Plaza, which fiercely competes with Laurel Mall for the title of worst mall in the region. But I think the food is worth it. Food - Their tomato sauce is on the sweet side and I LOVE sugar. My wife and I always order a Crabby Friday on two plates with melted cheese and a slice of cheese, which comes out to roughly $13.94. They'll split any entree onto two plates for sharing, which wasn't necessary when my metabolism was higher. Their chicken wings remind me of the kind you get at UMCP's Diner so I actually like them. They are fried and come with a hot sauce + ranch on the side. Dinner entrees come with bread and a salad (make sure you get extra olives on your salad). I recommend: shrimp parm, crabby friday, linguine with red clam, pizza, and the chicken diablo served on linguine (bow-ties belong on tuxedos) Service - It's an eatery. The staff is pretty efficient and most of the customers are regulars, so if you're new to the place, grab a menu off the counter and get out of the way. Please note: the Beltsville and Columbia locations are some butt. I've yet to try the Laurel location in fear that it too will be some butt.

What a terrible place to eat. It is in a mall called Beltway Plaza. This has got to be one of the worst malls ever. If you go there, you will understand. They have lots of Italian dishes and pizza. I ordered the seafood scampi. Man, all I got was some noodles, a few bits of seafood, in tons of butter. Non-descript taste. I had a few bites, and left the rest. I shared a slice of cheese pizza with a colleague. Just plain Jane, no taste, nada. Not recommended! Much better alternatives in the area.

Wow reading some of the negative reviews I am shocked. I have been coming here for 30 years and its fabulous. I can't imagine how anyone could give it anything but a five. Everything I have ever had has been great. I usually go there during the day, so maybe a night cook might be less great? Not sure, but don't let the reviews scare you off or you'll miss a great pace, great food, great [rices, especially during the day it seems

I ordered a take out catering order and I couldn't have been more satisfied with the service! I called that morning to order and they let me know the platters I was looking at would be way too much food for the number of people I was feeding. Really appreciated the heads up! Also- when I went to pick up the food- the employee carried all of my food out to my car. Great prices too! I will definitely be back!

...of the pizza. And my husband LOVES the Lasagna. We have not eaten anything else there but the PIZZA is totally awesome! It is very good and always piping hot. Okay -- it is in the Beltvsille Mall. The Mall is old and has nothing really going for it unless you like discounts. But it does have a Big Lots and a Target and an Awesome Books a Million. SO go to those places and eat at Three Brothers. You will love it!

Terrific food, friendly service at a great price. Ok so Beltway Plaza might not be seen as a top destination mall. I think that's being a little snooty but Nordstrom isn't opening a store here. That said, Three Brothers is worth it a special visit. Get an Italian Boat, a coupe of slices, a salad or my favorite, the Guido Special (veal, mozzarella and tomato sauce in baked dough - ask for extra sauce). I've been coming here for almost 30 years back when Mama did the cooking. I haven't lived in the area for ten years and still make it a point to get here at least once a year when i come to town.

This place is absolutely the best. if you love Italian food, which I do, this is the place to eat if you want to sit down without paying $20 ormore for a meal. The prices are reasonable as far as I am concerned. The service is usually pretty good. The catering is equally as nice.
