Service was mediocre Bunch of wait staff hanging around the front conversating. Didn't get my order right, didn't get the order for the guy sitting at the next table right either. Steak was a little tough also. I received much better service and food at the Capitol Heights location 4 days ago.

This is my first time here since it became IHOP (formerly Denny's). I won't be rushing back any time soon. While the staff were quite friendly, service was EXTREMELY slow. The food was pretty good, but the service has much room for improvement.

Went here for carry-out on Thursday 10/24/2013 (breakfast), ordered ahead order repeated back, young lady sounded very professional and confident. Well after arriving 20 minutes later....I still had to wait for another 10 minutes. Finally she comes out with food and an assistant manager, saying everything was checked...I asked was everything there...the waitress said "yes" I checked my self. Get back to work and an entire order is missing. I called nothing they could do, manager was in a meeting. I left a message. He never called. I called back around 12:30 pm spoke with Ryan and he sated he would take care of it and call me back. Never called, I called back around 2 pm, had to leave another message. He never called. Finally a 3:30 pm I called him and he credited my card back not only for the missing order, but the Berry Berry French toast was missing the other berries, so he took care of that. I don;t know if I will order out from here again, think its best to sit in.

Went here one evening with my wife because we were in the area and I believe she was craving some pancakes(she's pregnant, she craves stuff it happen). I have to say that this is probably the smallest, or at least one of, the smallest IHOPs I have ever dined in but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, I believe I ordered the bacon wrapped sirloin steaks with a side order of red velvet pancakes and she had an order of the whole wheat pancakes. Though my steaks were a little overcooked the food as a whole was actually pretty good. In terms of the taste of the food, this was one of the better IHOPs I'd been to. I would give the food a 3.5-4. Now, the reason my rating is so low because our waiter was very slow about everything. I asked for ketchup for my hash browns and never got it so I had to take it off another table. She took forever to gut us our water and didn't check on us too much. The real issue is when our waiter and another employee decided to get into an argument right in the middle of the IHOP. This wasn't a little disagreement either. They were yelling at each other. I was so shocked that they decided to do this in front of everyone I coundn't even tell you why they were yelling. I just know that I will not be visiting this IHOP unless I absolutely have to, which will probably never be the case.

Let me start by saying the establishment is nice and clean and the food come promptly and is cool well. But I have a couple suggestions. Tell your employees that they shouldn't smoke in front of the windows and they shouldn't park next to the establishment and leave those for the customers. Also, the employees are up front chatting, loudly, and made me uncomfortable. It was not appropriate for work and they simply ignored me. They had a really hard time figuring out how to sub foods. It's really simple and the manager needs to be more stern with them, especially people up front - the face and first impression - and train them again and again until they really get it.

TThey still have the international omelette. This is the only place I can come to and they still make the international omelette. 3 stars due to wait time especially on Sat and Sundays in the morning.

Service was awful we ordered our food and the server forgot two entres, rushed us to eat, and messed up the bill. To make things worse she didn't seem to care about whether or not we where satisfied. Save your money and go to another IHOP.

Went to IHOP on Sunday with a friend for lunch. Excellent meals for both of us. Service was spot on with Larry. Had the 55+ tilapia dish. Met the GM Ryan, who I recognized from the College Park IHOP. I am very jazzed that IHOP is making a run in this location.

So I've been to this location on three different occasions. The first time I was impressed, the service was spectacular, the food arrived promptly and my only concern that night had been the quality of the food. I orderd a Colorado omelet. My omelet was very dry, but the pancakes were amazing as usual. My second experience: the staff are crowded in the reception area speaking loudly and in appropriately. It disturbs me to see employes outside smoking with their aprons on or walking to work in their aprons. That day the service was horrible. We had to remind our servant about simple stuff like creamer, sugar for coffee. The service was not intuitive to our needs and we had to get word to her through other waitresses. It's day was my friends birthday and we wanted a nice brunch before kicking off the birthday celebrations. Our order was so late in reaching the table my friends food was cold. We asked forit to be remade. So when I finished my meal she was just starting hers it was horrible. They could not get it right today. OMG I miss Waffle House!

(05/06/2012) Wow, one of the more interesting experiences at an IHOP in a very long time. Found ourselves on an "unplanned detour" (lost) on the way out of DC, as frequently happens to me (but this time I wasn't driving). Was 2 am and like stepping into a foreign country; international is right. This is probably the tiniest IHOP I've ever seen. We were waiting to be seated in front of the "open" kitchen and the cook was screaming at the waitstaff; I don't know in what language, but every other cue indicated he was not a happy man. Food arrived as ordered, in a decent amount of time, was plain; drinks were refilled sufficiently. The Corned Beef Hash and Cheese Omelet was exactly that: IHOPs, in general, aren't a big draw for me (not being a pancake person), but their pancake mix is slightly, not too, sweet, pretty tender, fine crumbed, low rise, moist. Red Velvet Pancakes (a current special), if you like dessert for breakfast, did have the tang of Devil's Food, like it's namesake, and also, weren't too sweet; drizzle of cream cheese icing was welcome. The place is open 24/7 and it serves food on par with it's chain status, not much more to ask for.

Service was great and friendly, but food was terrible. We have eaten at IHOPs before but this one couldn't get anything right, the eggs were gross and runny, the pancakes flat and lifeless. If you have a pancake craving, skip this particular IHOP, other locations are better.

My mother in law was kind enough to treat my husband and I to this Hyattsville, Maryland Ihop last night. My husband had the Colorado omelette with a pepsi, I had a Belgian waffle with vanilla cream, pecans, and banana with a side eggs, sausage, and bacon with Sprite. My mother in law had a crepe that contained chicken, spinach, and swiss cheese. All of us were satisfied with the well cooked food and smiling service.

Curtis and I were going to Gettysburg for a field trip. Knowing that we wouldn't eat lunch until 1:30pm (at Golden Corral, ehhhhhh), we needed to fuel up for the long trip and tour. I haven't been to IHOP in a while. Not surprisingly, the smaller-than-average IHOP was very empty at 6am. Our waiter was especially polite, and quick to serve (don't you hate it when service is non-existent in an empty restaurant?). Food quality was how we expected at this restaurant chain. It isn't the Ritz, but it isn't McDonald's. (In fact, their orange juice is way better than McDonald's. It doesn't have that funky glucose-fructose metallic taste.) They were out of spinach for Curtis's omelet, but really, who squabbles over spinach? My ONLY complaint and it's minor, is that toasts come buttered. Leave it to the customers to butter their toasts. I personally prefer jam over mine. If you're in Takoma Park at 6am and looking for an early breakfast before a trip to a boring touristy town in the middle of nowhere, this is the place to develop food coma in order to sleep through "Lion King".

I had the worst experience at this IHOP! Although going in the expectations weren't very high (it is an IHOP, after all), this place seemed to scrape the bottom of the barrel just to function. It was a Sunday morning, and from the moment we entered the establishment, we received poor service. There was a line of people waiting to put their name in for a table, but the hostess was too busy talking with another employee about what they did the night before to take names. Instead of having to make eye contact with customers and help them, she had her back turned to everyone. Once we were seated, our server was no better. She didn't greet us, nor did she bring creamer with the coffee (she did at least ask if wanted creamer but failed in the execution of bringing it). We sat there with our cups of coffee waiting for her to come back with the creamer - we tried to flag her down but she was up front talking with the hostess - so TEN minutes later, I had to flag down another server and ask for it. At that point our server came over to tell us she "knew" we asked for creamer but that "they are getting it." I presume they had to milk it from the cow with the amount of time it took. The food was so-so, even for IHOP. I ordered the 2x2x2. The eggs were cooked fine but the toast was soggy. Pancakes were the only thing they did right. While we were eating, we got free entertainment as an argument erupted between the kitchen staff and the servers. The manager didn't even try to stop the bickering but instead walked away - talk about good management! I think we've found our Manager of the Year. On our way out, I didn't bother leaving a tip for our server. There was so much more that she did wrong that I haven't gotten into - and was well within her control to do - but didn't. She was apathetic and didn't care, exemplifying the behavior that the restaurant manager created by not dealing with issues and lazy staff. The frosting on the cake was that this restaurant apparently burned down and was just re-opened. It was probably better to have left it in rubbles, because at this rate, this place will shut down quickly anyway.

99% of the times I have been to an IHOP in my life, it has been at an ungodly hour of the night and by the end of it all, I ALWAYS say "oh man...what a night." this was no exception. but that's not the point. service - slow, but patient with complicated orders. food - hot, and...ihop-ish. what more can you expect? then again, I always get the same thing at ihop - the chicken tenders with fries and that garlic toast. just so you can go to sleep with that kickin' breath, you know? notable - the other people in there eating were mad cool. but maybe it isn't like that all the time. an ihop is an ihop...and that's what its good for.

I like this IHOP. I think that they had a fire a while ago and have yet to reopen.
