Mary's Italian Cuisine is located in a small plaza, across from Lotte. They are owned by a very nice Egyptian family, offering pizzas, calzones, stromboli, kabobs, and pastas. I've heard a lot of their fried chicken, so my husband and I shared a 4-piece - we got to choose which parts, so we requested 2 wings and 2 thighs. We also ordered a side of cheese fries, and I was pleasantly surprised, because at first, I thought it was a container of baked pasta; however, it was seasoned fries with melted cheese on top - yum! The chicken was great - it was nice and flavorful and seasoned well; the hot sauce was different (I'm thinking it's the ones used for the kabobs?) - it was vinegary/peppery and complemented the chicken well! We were both happy with the chicken special. I love the flamingo tablecloth, and it was nice to check out this little hole-in-the-wall. I would love to come back and try out their pasta dishes as well as return for their fried chicken :D +fried chicken with hot sauce! :D

The food here is pretty good. It's just another chicken basket really. My problem is the service. Specifically dealing with the manager. I ordered delivery and paid for a two liter of soda and only got two 20oz sodas. When I asked for an extra soda I was told no because apparently 40oz of soda is equal to 2LITERS. WOW! I order from them often so you would think that they would do anything to make up for their mistake. Now not here they don't care about their customers at all. Only the money. I will never order from them again!

Best fried chicken. Very surprising. Compared to Red Rooster in Damascus this place wins. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Takes 55 mins for food to be delivered (I live 1.8 miles away) I had a 2 liter diet coke in my order but they gave me two 591ml bottles because they "ran out of 2 liter bottles".. And charged me the same price. Lol. I actually said something about it to the delivery boy and he was like oh yea two 20fl oz bottles equal 2 liters. I believed him because I'm so bad at math. At least now, thanks to Polar, I know that 33.8fl oz is equivalent to 1 liter.... My crab cake dinner had two crab cakes instead of three.. Food has too much salt. But the french fries do not have enough seasoning. Wtf!!! They were so bland!! And soggy!!!!! I had to put mine in the toaster oven for a bit. Really ruined the whole point of getting food delivered... The hot cheese balls are like the size of pennies and you get about seven of them. I feel so ripped off right now. But the chicken noodle soup was good. But then again it was such a tiny portion--not worth $3.99.

Ordered food for family today since we were snowed in. Food came in 45 min from ordering. We got bucket of chicken fries cheese balls and a sprite. The fries were a lot but soggy. The chicken was crispy but tasted like your typical carry out chicken. The cheese balls were ok but tasted like they had jalapeño. My kids couldn't eat. The best part of the meal was the cold sprite but it should be cold since the temperature outside is 10 degrees.

Fried. Chicken. Wow! That's all you need to know. Skip all the big chain chicken places and try it here. It's beyond good. Oh and the box of fries is literally a huge box of seasoned fries. They were also good. But mmmm Dat Chicken!

Where do I start. 1hr 30min for delivery of a 4 piece fried chicken meal, 10 wings and a greek salad. I called at the 1 hour mark and was told it would only be another 10 min. Yeah right... Wings were cold, fried chicken was soggy on 2 pieces and then dried out on the chicken breasts. Fried chicken? No, just badly breaded chicken pieces that taste like they were fried yesterday. The batter has ZERO crunch. Its like chicken tender batter and not flakey batter that fried chicken needs. Fries with the chicken were soggy and cold. Also, they loaded the entire box with them. Normally im happy about more food but not when they take over the entire order. The coleslaw was a joke, it was chopped lettuce, carrots and little to no sauce making it just soggy lettuce. Greek salad was ok, just plain old salad with black olives and pepperoncini peppers, Nothing more, nothing less. Mary's used to be a go-to staple, seems they have dropped the ball. This will be the last time I order from here, ever. Next time ill take a 15 minute trip to Popeyes to grab real fried chicken.

I went here for lunch with a coworker since we were trying to find some new lunch places. We ordered at the counter and the staff was very friendly and patient with us since we'd never been before. I had a lamb gyro and she had fried chicken wings. The food was delicious!! The gyro meat was very tender and perfectly seasoned. Everything on the gyro was great: onions, feta, tomato, lettuce, tzaziki. EVERYTHING IS MADE TO ORDER, which takes a few extra minutes, but is DEFINITELY worth it. The wings were hot and very crispy - but still melt in your mouth good. The fries were also amazing! they had obviously just been made. They were hot, crispy outside, but perfectly soft inside. They had a dusting of seasoning, which was also delicious. I wasn't really a fan of the coleslaw and the bread roll was cold without any butter, but that's a small price to pay for everything else being amazing!

Had fried chicken from Mary's based on another Yelper's review, and O M G the chicken is sooooo good. Wife prefers Mary's over Red Rooster's, saying Mary's chicken is less greasy. I like them over Hershey's in Gaithersburg, because Mary's chicken has an extra crispy skin outside. The skin just crunches when you bite into it, and makes a nice crunchy sound. I'm drooling as I'm writing this review. Ha! Now the 4-star rating... It is a take-out place with a few tables. We don't expect the place to be decorated or anything, but it can be cleaner. While the fried chicken tastes great, the breast portions were sliced open for easier cooking. Downside of that is the chicken breasts can be dry. Just try the drumstick or thigh, and you will know they can do a better job with the breasts. An area in need of improvement. We also like their coleslaw. To us it's a perfect blend of sweetness and taste. Haven't had a chance to sample their pizzas and other fares, and will update ratings later.

Had a gyro from here, the lunch special comes with a can soda and fries. I asked for hot sauce and ketchup got both really quick. They seem to do a lot of deliveries. A lot of regulars were in and out real quick. The gyro had a lot of cucumber sauce which is expected! Cheap $7 lunch I stopped by only because I went to get a car wash next door at love your car! P.S They have many other specials! soo many things to try so little room in my stomach.

Do you want good, solid, filling food served with a smile? Then come to Mary's. It's a little run down on the inside. But I've never held that against a place. Is it fancy? No. Is it mind blowing? No. It is good food? Yes. Is the owner super friendly? Yes. It's just solidly good food sold from a local place. I would take that any day over any chain restaurant.

The customer service is good but the chicken is too salty, too much season and the chicken is dry a lot of times when I buy it

We ordered delivery for the first time from Mary's and it was pretty good. I got a gyro and it was tasty but not the best I've had. Kiddies split a pizza and said it was almost as good as their fave of the local NY pizza's (JP's in Damascus). Husband asked for a buffalo chicken salad and it was decent. The chicken was really tender and we were happy they offered romaine lettuce (default is iceberg, so you gotta ask), although he got very little green pieces. Still, we've had some seriously "meh" experiences when experimenting with new takeout places so this was a relief for the chief cook and food orderer. We'll be back!

Love this place. Try the chicken parmesan or veal parmesan dinner. The portions are huge, and the house salad dressing is really good.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
