This places supposedly opens at 11 am. However a few minutes past there is a line of hungry customers outside of the door watching staff eat and completely ignore them !!! It does not get better once they open. Do yourself a favor and go to baja fresh across the street, where you will be treated nicely and get much healthier food.

This Chipotle is NOT good! A few times I've ordered here, my rice was hard. They give you minute amounts of ingredients as if they are trying to save leftovers to take home. A few times I had to ask for more and they'd get an attitude. I usually like Chipotle restaurants but this one sucks!

This chipotle is absolutely awesome overall except for a few mishaps.the rice taste different sometimes not sure why.some of the employee s are incredibly rude and the music is annoying loud cannot eat in here.

THE GERMANTOWN CHIPOTLE IS THE WORST IN THE AREA. DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION. I am a huge Chipotle fan and have been to several Chipotle locations in the DC/MD/VA area. This is by far the worst I have been to. I went shortly after it opened, and the line was very poorly run and disorganized. Most of the staff had attitude and were rude. Gave the place the another chance, and visited a several months later. Service had slightly improved, but the portions were tiny. As another poster wrote, the portions of everything were less than half of what you would get at any other Chipotle. Even the bag of Chips contained half a normal portion size. Visited a few more times over the next several months, as it is the closest Chipotle to my place. Same thing each time - portions were tiny. I will never visit this location again, and will make the drive to Gaithersburg instead.

I generally enjoy the food at Chipotle, but I despise that I feel like I have to yell my order at the employees multiple times. Either they can't hear over the music and all the other people talking or they just don't pay attention. Baja Fresh on the other hand is quiet, the employees listen to you, and you get free chips and salsa. Why eat at Chipotle?

I have eaten at a lot of Chipotle's in my time so I feel quite confident in my review. My Dad had never been to a Chipotle until today. I think I've converted him. I suggested he try the barbacoa. He really liked it especially since it had a little kick to it. I had my usual steak bowl. The steak was seasoned just right. When we first arrived the line was very long. I assured my Dad that the line moves very quickly. We waited less than 5 minutes to place our order. Really the only downside is that there were a lot of people there with kids and they were holding tables while waiting to order food. This did take away the supply of available tables. The service was fast,, the employees were very nice and the restaurant was clean. This visit was A-. Not bad for a new store still working out the kinks. As far as other reviews complaining about the step out front this is part of the design of the shopping area, not a flaw of Chipotle. Maybe someone at Chipotle will recognize this is a danger and mark it somehow so people don't trip on it.

I love Chipotle. I've eaten at many, many Chipotle locations. I've come to rely on Chipotle quite a lot because it's far more healthy than "fast" food alternatives where FOOD should also be in quotes. I live like 240 yards from this new location and have anticipated the opening since the sign went up some time ago. I can walk to this location, so we're talking DOUBLE PLUS GOOD potential for this guy right here. Since my new local Chipotle opened about a month back, I only made my first visit this weekend because it's always ridiculously overcrowded. I tried to go (walked over) the first week or so at around 6 PM on a Wednesday and the line was a full circle inside - complete pandemonium. Now, I've been to some very busy Chipotle locations, so I know it can go pretty fast, but one look in this location that night said, LONG WAIT... so I left. Every time I drove by after that, it was the same. I know you can fax your order or order online, but I'm just not that organized! Finally, this weekend, I made it in when the line was relatively short. There were maybe a dozen people in front of me, so it seemed like a good bet for dinner on my way out to meet up with some friends later. Almost 15 full minutes after walking in the door, I had my food. That's not quick at all. Now, I have this thing with limes at Chipotle. I have to have some limes. A few years ago, Chipotle moved the limes from out by the drinks next to the lemons to back behind the counter. They'll give them to you if you ask. The stated reason for this is that they dry out if they are left out in containers like lemons, so now you can request them as you pay and you'll get a little container of 3 lime wedges. It took me about six months of thinking there was some sort of lime shortage or conspiracy at play before someone at corporate finally chimed in on an online Chipotle discussion to inform me about the special handling of the limes which I support entirely. So, I asked for limes... Cashier, smiling: "We have lemons." Me, smiling back, but quite serious: "You don't have limes?" Cashier, still smiling, but cautiously serious: "No... Lemons." Me, no longer smiling and very intense: "You don't have ANY limes, ever?" Cashier, now shaking head with smile waning, answering slowly: "ONLY LEMONS." Me, under my breath... Well that's completely #*!%#$ UP So, I guess they either ran out or maybe this was a new person who was unaware of the whole lime handling situation. Either way, I need my limes. I'll give this location one more shot soon enough since it's so close to home, but this whole lime fiasco on top of what really seems to be a much longer wait time is a deal breaker for me. Also, the chicken was over cooked. I love the char marks from the way they grill at Chipotle, but mine was very dry and quite overcooked on this visit. Again, I can see something like that happening here and there, so I will visit once more in case this was a fluke. The last thing, and this should really be addressed because someone will get hurt: That single step up that's about 4-5 feet from the front door as you walk out toward Century Blvd. I can't imagine I'm the only one that has walked out that door and trip kicked it, almost falling flat on my face after eating dinner. None of the other stores next to Chipotle have this ridiculously placed, dangerous step outside their door. The store planner or whoever at Chipotle that makes sure things are just right at new stores? That step is a FAIL and it's certainly an accident waiting to happen. So, I'll visit one more time. If the line moves at a reasonable pace, and the limes are back in back and the chicken isn't overly char burnt, I'll be happy with my local Chipotle. My first visit was not okay though.

Good food, and the staff tries to be very responsive. The only real problem is that the place is so popular that there is always a line. Order online, and the line is no problem.

Not a fan of this location. For one thing, the location itself isnt too great. Its a pain to park ( no parking in DC i understand, but germantown?) and there never seem to be enough tables but I guess i understand that because of how crowded it always is. For some reason, I think its alot darker too? Maybe its just me. Theyre also alot stingier about their portions, Its literally half of what it is at other chipotle locations. I think even if I was in the area, Id drive the extra 10 min to go to the Kentlands location.

  • Ian K.

Not a good location, light on the portions and forg my beans which the last woman on the line picked through my burrito to confirm and then tossed on top. Very apathetic service. Messed up my "kids meal order" and wouldn't correct, maybe the language barrier, but I ended up with a large quesadilla and had to pay for it and a small drink. Said somethign to the cashier... who shrugged. Very disappointed. One and done here.

i have been to MANY chipotle locations over the past few years as an avid chipotle fan. i recently moved to germantown so i am forced to order from this location instead of driving 20 minutes to gaithersburg. i usually (90% of the time) order online and pick up my food. not once, not twice, not even 3 times OR 4 times but 5 times IN A ROW that i ordered online the food was not ready when i went to pick it up and the cashier looked confused as if he/she had never even heard the words "online order" before. i also order chips with my meal and every time without fail they forget to put the chips in the bag and i have to ask. when i mentioned my frustration in passing to the cashier she just said "oh." SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.....CHIPOTLE...HELP ME OUT HERE...I REALLY DON'T WANNA HAVE TO GO TO GAITHERSBURG EVERYTIME I WANT CHIPOTLE.

Visited this Chipotle location a while back. I remember the assembly line was very unorganized and customer service was poor. Management was neglecting the patio area. I remember spotting a dead bird outside of the front door and it looked like several people stepped on it. So sad. I've always known Chipotle workers as helpful and nice. I will stick to my favorite Rockville and Gaithersburg locations.

Not there yet..... went there a few times.1st the steak was over cooked. 2nd chicken was brunt. 3rd the beans where dry.4th they ran out of chips. So they have some work to do.

I've been craving Chipotle for quite some time so I finally made it to this new location in Germantown on Saturday night. There's this big thick piece of glass that separate the customers from the food. I guess this make it more sanitary so customers won't be spitting all over the food. However, I think the glass is bit thick because the employees weren't able to hear my request. I got a barbacoa burrito bowl. I asked for just a little bit of black beans and the employee dumped in a big scoop. Then I requested for just a little bit of hot sauce, she again dumped in a big scoop. The barbacoa that I ordered were stuck together in chunks which made it difficult to enjoy. Also, there wasn't much flavor in the barbacoa. In conclusion, I've definitely had better Chipotle at the other locations. While waiting in line to pay, i was watching the girl put together a burrito bowl for the guy behind us. I'm assuming she knew the guy because she was hooking him up like no other. She was giving him alot of extra toppings; his burrito bowl was twice the size of mine. As she was loading on the toppings, she just kept looking at the guy flirtatiously. It was definitely an interesting scene. On another note, I agree with Shawn H. regarding the step that is right out the door. I almost tripped on it too. It's extremely stupid to have a step right when you step out of the door. They really need to do something about that.... I doubt I'll be back to this Chipotle anytime soon. It's still fairly new and it needs alot of work.

Came here for the second time today and was DISAPPOINTED again! It was really gross to see the guy behind the counter throwing bits of cilantro rice that had gotten onto the counter back into the container. And they were almost out of rice so they gave tiny portions. This place does not seem very sanitary.

I love getting food from Chipotle but this is by far the worst location that ive been too. The first experience wasnt that great however, i decided to give them another shot since i had a buy one get one free coupon. The staff wasnt friendly, it took nearly 30 minutes to get to the point where you begin ordering your food and the bag of chips that i had only had 9 chips (literally) in the bag. I wont be returning to this location again.

I am a Chipotle addict. I have been to a lot of Chipotle's in NoVa and Maryland. This place get's the lowest stars of all. I really hate that they don't honor the time given on online orders. I had to wait for more than 20 minutes atleast FIVE times, though i usually go 15 mins later than the promised time. It's ok if it happens once. It happened FIVE times. I am a fool for going back and expecting something different. I have given up and am choosing to drive farther to another chipotle though this is the closest one to me.

Chipotle overall is a favorite. Seeing one in Germantown is great. But the location is horrible - the store itself seems smaller and parking is terrible. Why they put the store in this location is beyond me. So the rating is more for location as opposed to food.

Love to go to the Walmart on the way to Frederick, that's how I found this place. -Fantastic food as always for every Chipotle restaurant.

  • Tiff G.

Worst chipotle I've visited in the area. Chicken is under cooked, staff seem pre-occupied with their own issues, and the food was just bland. I guess this is the reason I usually visit the Gaitherburg location. Not to mention the line is excessively long and hardly moves due to the staff taking forever with making each customers order. A complete mess

    (2)
  • Gardner M.

Slowest chipotle in the country. Had to leave the line after a 20 minute wait and not even getting half way through the line TWICE. Has nothing to do with the amount of customers bc during both times. Bc I watched 4 people be served. The issue with this chipotle is they don't cook ahead. They wait until something runs out every time. Then ask for it. The cooks then have to catch up. Then there is a backlog of customers who want that particular item so they are out again. They need to be retrained. Won't be going to this chipotle ever again

SLLOOOOOOWWWWWW..... So slow and inefficient. I see lots of similar reviews why don't they fix it??

Made a damn Yelp account after 4 years because of this place. It's been bad from day 1 and has progressed into the noxious cest-pool it is today. Don't even bother ordering online. Despite having a system capable of receiving online orders there is absolutely no effort in making the orders on time. You're going to get there and wait in front of the cashier for 10 min as they try to put together your order quickly on the side. Ordering online is a big thing for me, so I'd rather just drive to the Kentlands and pick up an order on time. Also the person that does the sour cream goes HAM. Dropping Sour Cream bombs on burritos and bowls. It's ridiculous.

UPDATE*** May 2015. I didn't think it was possible to go lower but never underestimate the power of nasty. New young workers are not just uninterested, they are down right rude. I got guac on the side, the one girl only filled it half way. I told the cashier it was half empty (it costs 2.00) she asked the girl working that station to fill the girl didn't the cashier looked at me, handed me the half full guac and said sorry. I forced her to fill it. Food still bland as cardboard. How can the Chipotle one town away be so great and we get this disappointment? Ugh

  • Kelly R.

As usual the food at this Chipotle is good BUT the long waits are ridiculous. I've been going to this Chipotle location since it opened. I also visit other locations as well but for some reason this location has gotten so very Slow, Slow, Slow! I'm a reasonable person but its very obvious something is not right. I've even walked out. Not sure I'll return, despite loving their food. My time and money are precious, and time is money! One part of the problem is servers, most of whom could care less. Teens talking, joking and ignoring the customers. Another issue may be the online ordering. They are so busy trying to fill those orders that they don't have time for the customers in the store.

I have been to many Chortle restaurants. Love the chain. I've been to this one several times because I love the food and it's close. However, the service here is beyond bad. They have 2 registers but I've never seen both in operation. Even on the busiest day. So there is always a huge line for no real reason. They also run out of ingredients often. Even though they're are only like 20 total. And , the employees at this location are poorly trained and managed. Love Chipotle. Hate this store!

Food is good but staff attitude sucks and the corn is usually frozen. The manager argued with me about the temperature of the corn and got caught in her lies.

I would agree this is one of the worst Chipotles I've frequented. My wife and I always online order, and they are late most times. I've had food drop through the containers because they do not drain the products properly. The young girls at the counter really don't have great customer service. No "welcome, how may I help you"? They just look at you for you to tell them why you are standing there. Sometimes you will get a tired, "may I help you"? Meh.

date dining in: Wed, August 29th, 2015 around 3:30pm. Food: Food is always great and freshly made. However this time the burrito was not wrapped correctly. Service: This is what makes it a 3 star and not 5 "customer service" The cashier Dana was yelling and arguing with another coworker while I waited for her to finish arguing so I can pay for my food. I asked for chips and guac. They forgot my guac and I had to ask for it.

I've been going to this Chipotle for the past four years and it's quality has been going down. There's been a whole new staff working there and ever since, it's been awful. The past three times, there has been something wrong with the order. One time, they started making the order when I got there, after I had ordered it online. A second time, the cashier didn't seem to know how to pull up the online order and obviously didn't have our order ready on time. Tonight, they messed up the order and gave me two bowls rather than a bowl and burrito. When I called the manager, she didn't know how to talk to customers. First, she leaves the phone without telling me she's stepping away from the phone so I'm left just listening to everything in the background, then when she talks, she talks like a middle school kid who doesn't really know how to have an adult conversation. Chipotle corporate better do a better job on training their managers. I won't be going to this Chipotle anymore. with all these bad reviews, everyone should write to corporate via this email by clicking onto this link: chipotle.com/email-us

This location sucks .There are really stingy with there portions .one time i came here on halloween I wanted more sour cream because they only putt little they said " Oh we cant give more sourcream on halloween" WTF! Is that how you treat customers with being stingy. I ordered 3 bowls she told me she going to charge 1 for full price because i have to be with that person for that order. I said fine You guys make tons of money and you worried about full price LOL!.. I only like coming here if im really in the mood for chipotle. Go to THE ONE LOCATION IN KENTLANDS GIATHERSBURG. I WENT THERE FOR HALLOWEEN AND THEYRE NOT STINGY WITH FOOD AT ALL. I ordered 3 burritos THEY CHARGED ME FOR ALL 3 BURRITOS FOR 2 bucks AND I WAS BY MYSELF because I just got off work. I was pleased. THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WAY BETTER. AND THEY ALSO SERVE ALCOHOL Plus, came to germantown location one time, They had uncooked steak and i was there 10 minutes before chipotle was about to closed i said it looks uncooked. The worker said we about to close,In my head i said WOW I CAME HERE BEFORE 10 SO WHATS THE PROBLEM?? I said OK BUT youre not going to serve me uncooked steak and i get sick. The customer next to me said yeah it do look uncooked So i said give me chicken instead. Germantown location is fulled with female cashiers who got attitudes for no reason ... The only worker who seemed nice and smiled at there customer was a guy. But i dont know if he was the manager.

My family LOVES Chipotle but germantown needs another one. This one is always crazy crowded. I have never been here when line didn't wrap around the whole dining room. And parking is so bad for the location.

Service: I came here for about the tenth time for the Sofritas promotion. I do respect that the staff was cunning enough to find away to give their customers the promotion coupon regardless of what they ordered due to the lack of sofritas. What I wasn't amused by however, was how long it took to get food. A couple of friends, my younger brother and I got in line at about 5:15 PM. by 6, my friends had left, and my brother and I were still 10-15 people away. I finally got to order at around 6 and got to the end of the assembly line at around 6:10. I understand that it was a busy day, but I feel like this is a reoccurring theme at this location. I want to emphasize that the staff was very respectful, but to become a successful Chipotle, I think the assembly line staff needs to be a bit more attentive and focus more on customer appreciation rather than talking among themselves, missing a beat, and then having to apologize profusely. I'm sure it will get better though! Food: Pretty standard haha. I wish the person scooping the meat would put a little more per scoop though. Environment. Almost always crowded and filled to the brim. The line is usually long and can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes to diminish. The reviews for this place are really harsh, but I feel like the management is slowly changing and improving. Looking forward to a few months from now when hopefully, things are a bit more efficient and synchronous.

  • Vanessa S.

Worst Chipotle I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot). Absolutely the slooooowest moving line EVER! Every time I go there I cross my fingers and pray it's not even worse than usual...last time I went the line completely stopped moving because they ran out of steak and chicken and they LITERALLY JUST Had put some on the grill. It was ridiculous. And by that time you don't want to walk out because you just stood in line for 25minutes!! They need new managers who are there at the front lines keeping things moving. It's disappointing that chipotle hasn't tried to fix the issues at this location. The only reason I gave them 1 star is simply because it's Chipotle and I typically love Chipotle. I drive further now to go to other Chipotles because in the end the food will be better and the longer drive is ultimately made up by the slow service I would have gotten at Germantown.

    (1)
  • Tina H.

I don't know how they do it, but this is the SLOWEST chipotle I've ever been to. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes till your turn. I've been to chipotle with longer line and got my food faster than shorter line here. The rice is always in clumps of chunks and tastes like it's not cooked all the way. The portion can be a hit or miss. Sometimes they give you plenty, sometimes it's too little.

  • Diana N.

The service is excruciatingly slow. Why doesn't management do something about it!?!? A lot of staff working, but the line is barely moving. Avoid this location if you can.

Bad experience with one of the associates as well as the manager. I told them I will be reporting them to their corporate head office!!! After the associate put back most of the chicken she scooped from the pan, I asked her to give me the amount of chicken I'm paying for.....she was like "$2 more" I was like "I'm paying just add it".

Went there twice first good second time both my husband and my steak burrito's were very fatty ( had to napkin every BITE) decided to contact them spoke to manager Diane. She made me feel Chipole really cares about there customer. She said what can I do so you give us another try and how can I make you happy. She took my name told me give me another order free and money back too. How could that not make someone happy. Well went back to give a try get my food fixed and money back. She was not in. But another manager was and he was awesome Latino gentlemen on 6-11-15 at 7:30 p.m.. sorry didn't get your name. But he did exactly what Diane told me she wad gonna do. Food was awesome change meat from steak to the chicken. Great burrito's both my husband and I enjoyed our dinner. Thanks Chipole for handling our complaint like restaurants use to years ago. Service matters and that's what you get here. Open another location people are out the door waiting in line. But call ahead or order online. To avoid that only problem with Germantown Maryland location on crystal rock Dr.. Great service great food. What else is there. Enjoy your dinner folks.

This chipotle just keeps getting slower and slower. I went in the other day excited to see the line was "short" (meaning 10 people in front of me) boy was I wrong. I understand it was lunch time but instead of helping the people there, they stopped the line completely to make all the online orders. Even that takes forever, I can't tell you how many times I've ordered online only to get there and their trying to throw my order together real quick. By the time I left that day, the line was wrapped around to the bathroom, and my food was cold (accept the quesadilla that no one wanted to take off the hot plate for me - that was burnt). This WAS a good Chipotle but I completely understand why they have the "Now Hiring" sign up front.

The slowest chipotle ever! The teenagers they have working are so busy playing around they can't even focus on getting the food right . The one in Gaithersburg is much better and efficient

Time for a new management team. This is the worst chipotle I've ever gone too. The food, line, service are terrible. Chipotle needs to fire the manager and rebuild this team.

STAY AWAY. Worth the drive to ANY OTHER Chipotle in the area, but DO NOT COME HERE. *** I hardly ever write reviews for chains because I'm fortunate enough to have experienced consistently good service across a certain chain. However, I had a horrible experience at this Chipotle last week and am shocked, though not surprised, to read all the other reviews with similar occurrences. As another Yelper stated, Chipotle operates on a fairly simple concept -- it's really not hard to eff it up. This location manages to completely taint an otherwise sparkling reception for the chain. I didn't have a problem with the portion sizes dished out here, but I do have a HUGE problem with the attitude of both the management and staff that work here. They lack any consideration of good customer service (or treating someone decently, for that matter). You are, as stated in another review, herded like cattle through the line. Here's what went wrong: 1) Asked for 3 tortillas on the side for my 3 burrito bowls. It took 4 more requests for this to be done - I had to wait a few minutes after I paid for them to even realize that I was still waiting for this when I asked at the beginning. 2) Specifically requested no sour cream. As soon as I tell the woman I don't want it, she slathers it all over my first bowl. I tell her to remake it... what does she do? Start scooping it off with one of the disposable salsa takeout cups. Uhhhh, if you mess up, you should start my order over, not try to scoop it out. 3) Specifically requested MEDIUM, not HOT, salsa. I didn't realize this until I got home, took a bite of my bowl, and almost choked from how spicy it was. 4) Same problem as 2 and 3 except with cheese. I specifically say "no cheese" and before I've even finished my sentence, there's already cheese on the bowl. Seriously???? 5) Same woman that screwed up my sour cream starts working on my second bowl... except that she thinks it belongs to the person after me in line. He's confused and I'm trying to get her attention to tell her it's still part of my order. She finally notices after 3 "excuse me"s and then tells me to be patient because she's trying to wait for my first bowl to be remade. Last time I checked... you were the one trying to get the guy behind me to tell you what he wants... on my bowl. What? I would have been in and out of there faster if I had hopped behind the counter and done this myself. The service here is RUDE and really rushes through a very easy process, causing it to be much more complex and stressful. I'm disappointed to see that this isn't an isolated incident and hope that the national management can wake up soon and shut this location down or at least make some improvements.

I come here often because I live close by. No complaints about the food but they are incredibly SLOW. I know Chipoltle often gets very busy and sometimes getting in and out of there quickly just isn't possible but I've spent as long as a half an hour just waiting in line and don't have this problem at other locations. Sometimes even when the line isn't long the wait times are too long.

Placed order online and still had to wait for the staff to put my order together. I stood at the register for about 10 mins, staff did not acknowledge me until I had to practically yell to one of the cooks. The cashier girl with the nose and tongue ring was very rude. She questioned me several time about an order I placed online if I am sure that is my order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, WHO WILLINGLY PAYS FOR SOMEONE ELSE ORDER. . I will not be visiting this location again. Poor customer services skills!

I think I'm done with Chipotle for good..at least at this location. I have placed numerous online orders for pick up since the line is usually out the door and we live down the street. They seem to mess up every simple order we have placed or they would just make it on site when we arrive (defeats the purpose of ordering ahead). The husband and I went for an early dinner the other night; we thought we scored since there was no line. However, the young lady at the counter couldn't understand us half the time what we would like and she gave such little portions. My burrito bowl consist of: brown rice, half steak, half barbacoa, tomato, corn, and cheese. There was barley anything in my bowl. Sadly, I was asking what was for dinner after finishing my bowl.. Good bye Chipotle!

This place is one of my favorite fast food restaurants ever however I'm gonna do my best to never ever go to this location even though it's most convenient for me. The lines here are terrible and so is the parking. It's really frustrating parking behind the place in the apartments because there's no real parking lot. anyways like the line always sucks at chipotle but that's normally because tons of people want it. Here the line was long because the staff was slow and confused and the people ordering were just as slow/stupid. This woman two people ahead of me started her order and then called her friend to find out what she wanted. She was at the salsa area when she had the staff start another burrito! I was like wtf! So literally seven bowls got backed up because they had to add this additional burrito in. The staff in the serving area was pretty slow. They normal are high paced and keep it moving but they seemed to lackadaisical. I think this location all around really annoys me... And there are way better run chipotles around so I will just take my business elsewhere. I give this place a two because I still enjoyed my bowl because the recipes are the same at any location. Thank god

Consistently very slow for a Chipotle at all hours of the day and they can run low on add-in's, but no other real complaints.

I bet it must be hard to work at chipotle. I would hate it. Bottom line is the folks working there show it. You will be hurried through the line. You will have to repeat everything you attempt to say because the blaring speakers are right above their assembly line. The customers are usually pretty ratchet high schoolers or their future versions. The parking sucks. Unless you go between 2 and 4 pm, you are in for a bad experience.

I would rather go to another location. SUPER slow service even when their not busy. Im a chipotle lover but for some reason compared to surrounding location their food is bland.

I absolutely love Chipotle. I've only gone to this one because it is so close to where I live. However, I'm done. I'm done with this location. It is the worst I've ever been to. I've complained to their corporate office about this location before. They were great and gave me a free meal card because of how messed up my entire order was after ordering it online and watching the employees mess the order up three times...yes, THREE times, simply because they were too busy chatting with each other. I just called to see if they were open today because of the snow. I was DREADING the call because of how incredibly rude the employees are at this location. I was literally dreading the call because I knew whoever answered the phone was going to be perfectly rude to me. They met my expectation today. The gentleman on the phone was rude. I was extremely polite and offered the standard Thank you so much! No response.....just *click*. I'm just done with this place. I don't want your free meals from the corporate office. What I want is for this location to TRAIN their employees to pay attention to what they are being paid to do and to be even A LITTLE respectful and polite to their customers who are showing them absolute kindness and respect. I'm sorry, it is NOT too much to ask and I refuse to spend money at a location where I dread going in because of how rudely I'll be treated. I've been so nice and understanding every time I got in and they mess up my order due to simple carelessness and have to redo my order MORE THAN ONCE. Thanks, but no thanks.

How can you mess up a recipe for success. I could train my dog to do a better job on the line, and she doesn't even have thumbs. Since its inception, Chipotle has a pretty simple concept. You form a line, decide what you want, and tell the person behind the counter what toppings you want on your burrito. This is proving to be a more complicated process for both patrons and workers to understand. First thing that needs to be understood is portion control. 2 heaping spoon fulls of rice and 5 little cubes of chicken is not what I call proper portioning. I mean come on dude, Im asian....do I look like I need more rice? Also When I say I want a little more of something....or "Un Poquito" I mean just that!! I want a little more....not another heaping spoonful of whatever I asked for. You know what is also super awesome?? I just absolutely love it when im telling you what I want on my burrito and you are sitting there chatting away about how Jen was so wasted at the party last night and how you sooo could have tapped that. Awesome dude, why dont you focus on the task at hand and stop sprinkling the cheese all over my burrito that I didn't ask for. Cheap and Quality rarely go together. Damn you minimum wage!! You suck the life out of quality workers. Other than that the food was Great :)

Crazy line but that's nothing new. We went on a Saturday afternoon and the line was long but not holiday airport security long, our meat scooper scooped with dignity and didn't leave us requesting for double chicken, they had about 7 people working on the food line so they are/do make an effort to get you in an out of there.

Chipotle continues to not address the ordering problem. They only have one line but multiple points of ordering (phone, fax, physical there, or online) This chipotle completely broke down due to a single fax order of 5 or more orders. I waited 20 minutes to get my food with 2 people in front of me and a cashier that had no idea how to address the situation. I'm going to be avoiding this chipotle in the future.

i love chipotle service was not that good. the employees were too busy talking to each other. it was a little frustrating.. took longer than it should have.

This chipotle has to be one of the worse. I usually order online for my chicken salad. One time, I ordered extra chicken and there was no extra chicken. I had to watch them and tell them to give me it. Today, I ordered extra chicken but I came home to NO chicken at all in my salad bowl. Last time I'm ordering from there. Be warned.

I love this place. They are very generous if you ask them for extra portions.

Dear God, I cant understand how in the world this place is like a cash cow!!! The people of Germantown deserve better!!! I was given a gift card and decided to use it here. I got tacos. It should be safe right?! Wrong!!! My meat was fn cold!!! wait lets rewind a bit!! The lines were long!! Since I havent been here in a minute I thought maybe they improved their recipes right!!? Their beans look straight out the can!! the cheapest quality $$$ can buy!! Not even Busches beans!! You know that brand with the Dog stealing the recipe... Anywho, Everything is nasty!!! The meat tastes yuck!!! The only thing the dont mess up and shouldnt because its a watered down mexican restaurant is the guac!! that was okay. but what teed me off is that they dont have any salt or pepper shakers not even the little packets!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for meat not being seasoned that should be a staple along with the old ass tabasco sauces.!! Avoid this place at all costs!! ANd for being Chipotle being a cash cow you think they would fix that damn door that swings open by itself!! making everyone in the restaurant freeze to death!!! just dont go!!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated specifically with respect to testing the chicken for toughness. Further supervisory quality control is advised. I like I had to beg the food server to ration some extra food to reach parity with other Chipotle locations. It seemed un-North American to have to beg for my bowl to be filled. The servers need to visit other more generous Chipotle locations. The parking is inconvenient and unclear how to access from the main roadway. Traffic could be enhanced at this restaurant with more QA and better signage on how to park in the back.

Not nearly as fast as the one in Gaithersburg Square. The people are really nice, but the service is slow (by Chipotle standards)

Yeah, this place is still terrible. I hope Chipotle corporate is watching.

Delicious! Great service most of the time. Sometimes they try to take too many orders at once and it gets hectic. I like being able to order online and walk-in and pick-up. Very convenient.

I loved it. The line is long, but moves fast. Food great. Service was rushed, not bad. But we all appreciate that while waiting so the line moves faster! This place is excellent! Love Chipotle, and this is a great one.

  • Joe M.

The reviews I've read all seem to say the same things; busy, crowded and slow lines. It was certainly busy and by default crowded, but I found the line moved rather quickly, and by quickly, I mean it was no slower than any other crowded Chipotle I've ever been in. The problem I had here is the same one I have at most busy fast-casual eateries. There is a focus on speed and you accept that the food will be sitting in steam pans, but where is the customer service? I'm a picky eater. I'm especially particular about the quantities of ingredients I get. If I ask for extra rice, because I'm not eating beans, then give me extra rice please. Don't just shove my food down the line so it becomes someone else's problem. Stop for a moment. Make eye contact. Smile. Say please and thank you. Give me the feeling that me, or at least my dollar, is special to you. I'm over the assembly line mentality that makes people feel like cattle. Moo.

  • Kyle N.

The food is great, and the outdoor seating is great during warmer weather. I'm not sure where the complaints of declining quality are coming from. I order ahead frequently, and I have never had a problem with an order being incorrect. The line can be 10-15 minutes deep during peak hours, so come early.

First of all I have to say I typically love chipotle. Most locations are great. As previous people have mentioned this location sucks. This location gives you very small portions and they are consistently small. If this is the way all chipolte restaurants were run they would not be nearly as successful as they are. Its the only location where I walk away hungry. Until they fix this issue I guess I am stuck going down to street to baja fresh even though I am not a huge fan but at least I am full when I eat there. I think corporate need to investigate who is managing this location. There are many unhappy customers on yelp!

    (1)
  • David C.

I keep asking them to have the SAME amount of portions like other chipotle and they pissed me and other people off. I checked that this chipotle is the lowest rating chipotle in the whole state. IM SERIOUSLY MAD AT THEM LIKE I WANT TO PUNCH IN THE FACE AND MAKE THEM LOOK ON YELP TO SEE HOW TERRIBLE THEY ARE! F$%ck this place, luckily i ate at Quickfire the new japanese restaraunt. it was pretty decent and looks alot like chipotle, i was at least pleased.

  • B Z.

F'ing chipotle! u r my vice! while i dont particularly love the feeling of lining up like cattle to get a burrito the size of my face and eating like i need to feed from a trough, its so good. thanks for being there for me. 3 stars cuz im anti chain. but yet i cant resist the calling...the long line....the trough. im so ashamed.

Listen. I like Chipotle, you like Chipotle. No question about the food. However, this location's service is absolutely ridiculous. If you like the idea of spending your precious lunch hour being harassed, yelled at, and given blatant dirty looks, then by all means, have at it. Not only do the staff YELL at you (just like the lunch ladies when you were in elementary school), but they give you murderous glares if you do not understand them. SIDEBAR: I speak fluent Spanish! Have for years! That usually comes in handy when interacting with native speakers learning English, but I STILL don't understand the staff here because they speak too quickly, and when you ask them to repeat themselves, they get shitty. Now, don't play the racist card on me - I understand them perfectly when they speak Spanish, and personally I don't care what language is spoken as long as I get my food the way I want it. Another problem I have is that the staff do not listen. Once, my husband asked for extra lettuce, only to be met with a dead stare. Most recently, I asked for just a LITTLE guacamole on my dish, only to watch the server girl put a full, large-spooned DOLLOP on my food. She then continued to stare at me like I was crazy when I got mad. I confess that I don't know if she simply didn't listen or did not understand me, but if it's the latter, she's in the wrong job. I'd come back if the service improved, but I might have to go to Baja Fresh down the road for a Mexi fix until that happens.

Their workers have attitude and have a hard time listening to customers, & they suck at online orders.

    (2)
  • Krista E.

This is by far the worst Chipotle I have had the misfortune to order food from. They do not know how to handle online ordering. The food is wrong from what you ordered (toppings missing). The wait staff is slow and doesn't seem like they care at all. Do yourself a favor and drive to another location. Like Columbia, MD.

    (1)
  • Jill S.

It seems that this place is turning around. Maybe they've just been flukes, but the past two times I've been here, it's been MUCH better than it has in the past. The workers are prompt and friendly, and it doesn't take forever to finish an order. Getting my order right in a timely fashion without attitudes? There may be hope for this location yet.

    (3)
  • Carrie H.

Not sure what people are doing to get such bad service here. Maybe you get bad service if you come in with a bad attitude? I come in with a "woohoo! burrito!" attitude and I have never had a problem. And we eat here, I am ashamed to admit, about once a week. The line is huge but it moves fast. I ask for what I want and receive what I ask for every time. Minus one star because sometimes they run out of cheese. Not sure how that's even possible. If you guys want to experience a TRULY SHITTY Chipotle sometime, try the one in the food court of the Pentagon City mall some time. The people who work there could not give two effs, just want to have personal conversations all day, and won't refill anything when it runs out. I would never go back to that location.

    (4)
  • Kitty B.

I've never had a bad experience at this location. They always fill my bowl and if I ask for extra toppings they do not get annoyed. Staff is always friendly, the line does get pretty long sometimes but what chipotle doesn't get packed. I love in the Germantown area and this is my go to spot.

  • Nelle G.

I ordered online for a 7:15 pick up at 7:24 they asked the cashier to print out the order so they could make it....umm wtf. If I stood in line I would've been done ordering and in my car heading home. Smh ridiculous.....I finally walked out at 7:36. Extra star only because the girl who made the order gave me a 25% discount. This burrito always hits the spot!

  • Jarred S.

I will start by saying I usually like Chipotle. This location however has continually disappointed me. I've ordered online and picked up 4 times. Each time they've messed up 2 of the 3 items I've ordered. When I say messed up, we're talking meat on vegetarian selections, multiple ingredients that weren't asked for, etc. The most recent time this occurred, I called back to speak to a manager, who I don't think was present because I was just passed around, and every time I asked a question was put on hold to get an answer. Long story short, they refused to refund or fix my order...that was definitely the last time I will visit Chipotle.

This location has gone downhill since opening. The food is decent, but the staff is slow and rude. The music is so loud, you almost have to yell for the employees to hear you. I don't have any complaints about the cleanliness of the store.

    (3)
  • Stephany S.

Food is good, who doesnt love chiplote??!! Service a totally different story, TERRIBLE. The staff are always arguing and cursing at each other while you wait for your food to be ready. When asking for "Extra" chicken, which you are going to pay for, the give you 4 pieces of chicken when they are supposed to give a full spoon. That onl reason i go back to this location is because i live around the corner.

    (3)
  • Alan Z.

I've been to many chipotles with long lines but this particular locations is disastrous...i waited in line for 30 minutes before getting my food...why? There were only 4 people working the line (at a snail pace). All the while one guys just stood by the register fooling around not doing anything, while another girl was trying to win the award for the laziest employee of the month....i've been in lines twice as long and got my food within 10minutes. The employees here have terrible work ethics and are just not efficient at all.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
