Ok, so this was an unexpected find. We rode the Scenic train up to Frostburg from Cumberland and went looking for some lunch. We came across Wild Things, you can't miss it with the lime green stripes. The place was empty but the Terps game was on so we thought we would be ok. The atmosphere was typical college town bar. The bathrooms were a little tired but nothing unexpected. The dining area was very nice and there is a small bar. The dance floor has a stripper pole. Yes, I did say stripper pole. They have a great variety of beer on tap. Many are local but there are still the usual choices. There is a good bottle selection too. The food was really good. We had pizza which was 5.99 but did not taste anything like a 5.99 pizza. The fried pickles were AWESOME. Some of the best I have ever had. Wings were fantastic and the hot sauce was very tasty. Eating there took us all back to our college days but we did not have food or beer selections like this place. We are already planning on taking another train ride and maybe spending the night. If you are looking for something with good food, great beer, and a simple atmosphere Wild Things is the place.

If you are above the age of 25 this may not be a place for you. It is not family oriented and very loud. I am trying different places in Frostburg all of the time and have found a few return spots. I tried Wild Things on a Friday and will not return. The beer selection was good with a variety. The wings were ordinary but the pizza was good. The college kids all around were immature, loud and obnoxious as if they wanted everyone to hear their conversations. I may have given one more star for the things I like but there are more enjoyable restaurants in the area.

The place likes to say they offer delivery but the service doesn't stand up to any of the other local places, at all. It's been 2 hours and we are still waiting. Either the delivery guy got lost (that's not possible..) or they really can't handle a busy college town on a Saturday night trying to deliver. As for the food, I've heard good and bad.. but obviously haven't had a chance to taste it yet. =/ Next time, we will stick to Gianni's if we want to eat it before breakfast.

Went to this restaurant with some friends and our children, not a family restaurant. There was one other table and two servers, yet it took well over 45 minutes to get our food. My chicken sandwich had two wooden skewers through the chicken hidden under the bun that I found while taking two separate bites (I even removed my bun to add mayo, and squished the bun back on the chicken and there were no signs of skewers, so they were IN the chicken)! ! The server was very nonchalant about the whole thing. On top of that, the fries were freezer-burnt and not even warm when delivered. The bathroom had a ceiling light cover lying on the floor, no trim around the door, and holes in the drywall. This is clearly a BAR (with low standards at that) that serves bad food! Disappointing food and service, will not return!

Well, I'm not in line with the other reviews, I see. Our experience started out iffy, I admit. We stopped for lunch in Frostburg after bicycling from Meyersdale (a pleasant ride, BTW). We'd been to the town once before so knew we wanted to find a place in town to dine before heading back. Of our choices, we selected Wild Things, not knowing what kind of food it served. Walking in at 1pm on a Saturday, it was dark inside after venturing in from the bright outdoors, huge, and empty of patrons. We almost did a turn-about but were greeted from way back in the back by a friendly voice. That led us further inside to the bar. And, from there, the dining experience was very good. We asked what a "wedgie" was and were given the description of something similar to a quesadilla made with pizza dough. Interesting enough. We ordered the steak wedgies and were quite pleased with the results. In the process of ordering and eating, we had conversations with the servers and discovered this was a college bar hangout during school season and learned a bit about the town, restaurant/bar, and the servers. We were happy with our dining selection overall and the taste of our wedgie was delicious. I'd stop here again.

I don't have much expectations from this place since it is a college bar. Never tried food nor i want too. I just go there to hang out late night.

Wings and beer selection are great... Sticky floors a turn off... Pool table is nice. We aren't college students, far from it!

I am giving this restaurant one star because there wasn't an option for awarding no stars. We were a party of four that arrived very hungry and very thirsty on a mid-week afternoon. It is a good size restaurant/bar but only one other table was occupied. The one waitress took our drink orders (three cokes and a water) and delivered them almost ten minutes later. We ordered a personal size pizza, wings, a fish sandwich with fries, and a footlong hot dog. We didn't know if it was a problem with the kitchen or the waitress, but it took forty minutes for just the wings and pizza to be delivered to the table. About five minutes later the fish sandwich and fries arrived, both quite cold. We asked about the footlong, and the waitress said the chef was putting it together and it would be right out. We were finally able to get our drinks refilled at that time. It was another five minutes before she brought out a plate with two ordinary hotdogs on it, not the expected footlong. Unbelievably, they were also cold. The waitress appeared to be oblivious to our displeasure. There were no apologies for the bad food or bad service, just a cheery holler to us as we were leaving to have a good day and come back again soon. There are some excellent restaurants in Frostburg and we'll be eating in one of them on our next visit.

If there were zero stars, that is what I would rate it. We were riders on the Historic Western Maryland Scenic Railroad & had a hour and half lay over in Frostburg. We opted to get lunch at Wild Things as it was cute from the exterior and was right at the top of the hill. The interior was definitely a small college town dive bar. Dance floor, small bar, etc. Not a child friendly restaurant. Sign stated to seat yourselves as we walked in. We found a table and three of us went to the bathroom. Bathrooms were very dated and very typical of a small college town bar. The men's room had no soap (GROSS!!!)...which the male in my party shared with a staff member...and they just shrugged it off saying that the dispenser was broken and they didn't have anything to put in there instead (ummm...how about a bottle hand soap from the drug store?!?) After 4 of us individually used the bathrooms, we still had not been greeted. We had to wave down a server. We ordered waters & a diet coke - all which were kept full....BUT THE FOOD NEVER ARRIVED AFTER 45 MINUTES. We ordered very simple, very quick food as we knew we had to get back to the train......We inquired multiple times and stated our urgency. Long story short, we left hungry and very disappointed. We don't believe the problem was with our server at all but with the kitchen. They claimed that they were slammed...but trust me, they were not slammed in the dining room. After multiple years of managing large scale restaurants, this restaurant was very quiet. If you would like a much better meal, ride the train back to Cumberland...drive up the road a few miles and eat in the restaurant at Rocky Gap resort & casino. The service was day and night.

Food is good. Delivery is slow. I repeat slow. I've never had fast service from there. The chicken bacon ranch pizza and buffalo pizza are very good but the wait sometimes is unbearable. It is a rare occasion to order from there.

There are a lot of negative reviews from people expecting a clean, family-oriented resturant and coming to find that it is "a dirty college bar that happens to serve food". If you want good drinks for a decent price then it's not a bad place at all. Yeah, there are going to be immature college students there on a friday night; IT'S A COLLEGE BAR. I think people had too high of expectations for this place. Bottom line, the food is decent, drinks are cheap, but the service could be better. I recommend the pizza, wings, or a philly cheesesteak. If you want a sit-down quality meal to enjoy with your family, I'd personally go elsewhere. But if you're looking to have some drinks, bar food, and don't mind being around college-aged students on certain nights then you should definitely check it out.

Wild Things is a usual college haunt with usual college babes and dudes and unimpressive food, but you can go there for a usual burger and leave satisfied.

Does not take AMEX. Recommended as the place to go on a Wednesday night in Frostburg - trivia night. Not crowded in any way. The chicken sandwhich was slight and bland. Upside was a solid and diverse beer selection that is relatively cheap. Wouldn't return for anything but beer, though my friend said the goose and tonic was well made.
