An old-school diner with great service, good food, and vintage style to spare! Definitely a must-eat food stop in Frostburg, MD! Very friendly diner patrons and staff. Their pies are the best, although breakfast is a really good bet, too. We've eaten here numerous times and never left hungry, disappointed, or without a smile.

Wow.. What a gem! Old style diner with vintage atmosphere , good food and reasonable prices . Very clean & fast service. Chicken soup, hot roast beef. I even sat in the Harry Truman booth. I was so impressed at how clean it was. Clean booth, clean floor. No graffiti or ripped seats. Only downsides I saw were the corian countertop ( too modern) and while the booths were great looking, they were probably made for teeny boppers of yesteryear.

Our family really enjoyed this little diner. Good food and clean. We ended up sitting in a booth that Harry Truman sat in.

One of our favorite treats! This is a historic small restaurant in Frostburg MD. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. They have a terrific amount of seating and the food is great! I would recommend the "Savage burger" for sure. All of their food is wonderful, the waitresses are pleasant and it is a great visit to a small town. The parking can be a little rough at times, but be patient and enjoy the short walk through what remains of small town America!

Awesome place - went there for breakfast. Old time diner with old time diner atmosphere. Loved it. Waitresses were really friendly, service was fast, food was good and old time prices, too! What more could you want? Simple food made well and tastes great. Can wait to come back for lunch and dinner!

The number of Sundays I've walked up the street to try and get a bite at the Princess! The amount of Sundays I've been viciously denied! If the Princess Diner had Sunday or late evening hours they'd have accrued at least 300% more of the cash they sucked from my undergraduate wallet. Small town diner vibe with cheap breakfasts and in-house candy, one of those places with vegetable lists where the only actual vegetable listed is the "vegetable of the day". I have no idea how they do so little business but somehow maintain the status of "best pulled pork sandwich I think I've ever had". Be careful though; you'll get pulled in by the four dollar burger and fries and end up shelling out fifteen bucks once they've cajoled you into cheesecake and plus the waitress needs a good tip because she was so kind and attentive and look at how beautiful main street is of course you're feeling a little generous--but it's great.

Princess is awesome! It's a real small town diner, not a giant corporation trying to mimic one. Get a peanut butter shake and pretty much anything else on the menu and you'll be happy.

The greasy spoon of the town. The food is edible. It's an old diner feel but the food is only OK. I However do think it has very good french toast. I hate that they use individually packaged syrup and butter. Are we at McDonalds?

Keep walking if you want lunch or dinner here. Was here on a Saturday for a quick lunch since Duncan's Bar & Grill wasn't open. I knew we were in trouble when the waitress basically threw the menus at us on the table. Ordered a grilled cheese and a cup of chili. Chili came about within 5 minutes and was luke warm at best. Twenty minutes later the grilled cheese showed up. The sandwich was not hot as if sitting for 10+ minutes. Wouldn't you think both would come out at the same time?? Maybe this place would be better for breakfast but for lunch, keep on walking, there's plenty of other choices in downtown Frostburg.

Great old time diner. Perfect if you are coming up from the great allegheny passage on bikes and have worked up an appetite! We sat in the booth occupied by Harry Truman and his wife on Father's Day 1953 (?). Cool old-fashioned table-top jukeboxes!

The Princess is a Frostburg institution. It's still a 50's diner-esque place with 50's prices. Seriously. Hamburgers that cost about $1.50? I had a crab cake sandwich there that I think was $5 and it was pretty decent. The sandwiches some plain so you gotta pay for toppings and sides but they're worth it. I think their hours might be a little strange but try to check it out if possible. The prices alone make it worth the stop.

Good artery-clogging diner food at a very reasonable price. Friendly informal service. Obviously lots of locals are regulars.

I love, love, love diners and you know what America? They are a rarity! Princess is an awesome diner with homestyle cooking. The servers most likely have been there for a year or more so they'll remember you if you come in often. They have crushed ice and grind there coffee beans before they brew a pot. (So coffee snobs looking for a cheap cup of bottomless fresh coffee Hizzah here ya go) All their pies? Home made. And you know what? You want to sit where a president sat? Well BAM they have it. If you are passing through don't pass up on this inexpensive, SPECTACULAR, American Diner before franchise's rip this one away from us.

Oh my, I LOVE Princess! The veggie omelet is outstanding, get it every time. My kids love the chocolate chip pancakes with a slice of the best ham (and I'm not big on ham). If you like old diners this is the place to go. I recommend Princess to everyone!

We took the scenic train ride, then hiked up the hill to this restaurant, having read the online reviews.Although the servers were quickly overwhelmed by the midday train crowd, the values were amazing: it was like they'd rolled the prices back to 1960. Food is basic home cookin', nothing fancy. I'd call the place a "greasy spoon," but don't let that scare you off -- you can get salad, soup, rolls, meatloaf w/gravy, mashed potatoes, 2 veggies, beverage, and apple pie, ALL for $11.50. The atmosphere is 40's Lunch Counter, but clean and cheerful. Worth the trip! You're not going to find haute cuisine in Frostburg, anyway!

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My cross country team came here for breakfast after running an early 5k. It was the worst dining experience of my life. There were about 25 of us all together. The restaurant knew we were coming; the coaches had made reservations. The team was split between five or six tables, some of which got significantly better service than others. At my table, the service was terrible. Our food was extremely slow coming out (about an hour wait between arriving and getting food) and when it finally came, it was cold. Everyone at my table was starving by this point, so we bit the bullet and ate it anyway. Afterwards, when I went up to the counter to pay, I told the hostess that it had been a terrible experience because our food was slow and cold. She did not apologize, but instead blamed me and the others at my table. She told us we should have called ahead with our orders (not for reservations, which we did, but WITH OUR ORDERS. Note: this is a sit-down restaurant, not a take-out place) and then proceeded to say that if our food was cold, we should have sent it back. I pointed out that we came here straight from running 3 miles, and that we didn't fancy waiting another hour for food. Then I left. The only way I would ever go back is if someone tied me up and dragged me. Mind you, I would be kicking and screaming the whole way.

Ordered a burger with cucumber. The waitress stared at me like I was insane. But I said it's on the menu. And it is - the menu lists cucumbers as one of the extras you can get on a burger. However, when I got the burger, the cucumber had been chopped up and spread over the lettuce on the plate. Neither were on the burger. What kind of style is that? How hard is it to serve a burger? Like another reviewer mentioned, we also sat at the Truman booth. However, the seats were unusually short. Very uncomfortable. Did people have smaller butts in Truman's time?

This is what happens when you go to Frostburg, which has a fair number of dining options, of which only a couple are considered to be quite good, and don't make a reservation for Saturday dinner. Called Giuseppe's at 7pm to find out the earliest they could seat us was 8:30pm, but we were starving, so we sought out Princess Restaurant instead. This place probably rocks for breakfast and I imagine it's quite good for lunch. For dinner, however, it was just A-OK. Service was friendly but somewhat sparse, but with the number of waitresses around we certainly could have flagged one down if we'd needed to. Where this place really wins points is in price -- a steak dinner w/ salad and 1 side, a chicken parmiginia (sp?) dinner, 1 soda, 1 amazing chocolate milk shake and 1 great little hot fudge sundae cost only $25!

I used to not be a fan, but they really won me over. :) I love their omelets.
