For my money it's absolutely the best carry out chinese food in Frederick. The General Tsos Shrimp and Schezuan Shrimp are both stand outs. As a few have pointed out, it's not really set up for dining in. The booths are often occupied by kids hanging out. That's fine! Food is always wonderful. Highly recommended!

Ordered the General Tso chicken lunch with Fried Rice and Hot and Sour Soup. The spices in the chicken were perfect. The right amount of heat and not too cloyingly sweet. The chicken coating was thin and crisply The chicken, however, was tough and overcooked. Unfortunately the hot and Sour Soup was cold. So cold that it started to congeal. I decided not to eat it. The fried rice was slightly oily but serviceable. 5 stars for flavor but 1 star for execution.

Love this place. I usually order shrimp in hot garlic sauce with white rice. Typically comes with fresh veggies (zucchini, squash, peppers, broccoli, carrots, onion) chopped large and stir-fried. not over cooked, mushy or over sauced. I am limited on certain things I can get now but the woman that works the counter is always patient and answers all my questions without frustration! She usually has her kids in there running around (hey - daycare ain't cheap) but they are sweet little kids that are usually doing their homework or quiet activities, they are always polite! I have tried branching out to other things ( beef sticks, chicken wings, egg rolls) but nothing really satisfies like that shrimp in hot garlic sauce. OH! and I forgot to mention the shrimp are plump and never overcooked. none of those small, tiny tiger shrimp in that bowl! and for one lunch combo its more than 6 shrimp which is impressive for $6 for lunch. much better than one can expect at chain restaurants.

The rice was good but the rest of the food was covered in some syrupee slime. Same goes for beef and broccoli and the moo go gai pan. Disappointing.

Great chinese food, probably some of the best take out chinese that I've had. Their general tso's chicken is always delicious. (Don't ask for a green bean side though, they never have it in stock)

A little pricey for Chinese food, but worth it. Probably the best place to get Chinese in Frederick, and the meals are large enough for 2 meals. Everything is always cooked well.

Best Chinese take-out in Frederick (and better than most dine-in). It is family run with the children helping out taking orders. Food is always fresh and flavorful. That has not been our experience with several others. We love their fried rice, dumplings, foo young and orange chicken.

Still a solid Chinese restaurant IMHO. This is a family run business; their daughter helps out and may very well take your order and ring you up on the register while her parents supervise, and/or are cooking. We have had no issues with this (per other reviews)- she's polite and listens well. If we place our order for takeout, it's normally ready on average in 15-20min. Again, if you prefer white rice over fried, you need to specify this when you order. You won't get soy sauce, spicy mustard, or the duck sauce - you'll have to ask for it or pick it up when you're leaving. We get 2 fortune cookies total - if you're concerned about that. I still recommend their dishes I mentioned in my previous review, as well as the curry chicken, and if you're a plain Jane, the Moo Goo Gai Pan. Not too greasy, fresh/crunchy veggies, and perfectly cooked meats round out a good meal.

Not sure what the hype is about. This is decent/average Chinese takeout. Some clarification since the other reviews are all over the place. - There is no waiter service here. There are booths if you would like to eat your food there, but it still comes in takeout containers/bag. - Food takes FOREVER to come out. I didn't know Chinese food could take so long. - Prices are a little high. They are less expensive at lunch; the lunch menu is limited but it does apply on Saturdays (according to the menu). Some of the other reviews said the spicy options aren't spicy. I'm not sure what they ordered, but I had broccoli in garlic sauce and found it to be VERY spicy (it had a pepper next to it on the menu). And yes, the vegetables were fresh and not over cooked, but I expect that from any Asian restaurant. I'll give them another try for lunch, and update if needed.

It's not great - the food is kind of greasy, and the taste is pretty bland. However, there aren't many good Chinese restaurants in the area, so if you want Chinese food, you might be stuck with this place. Do your research though - other kinds of Asian food around here is pretty good, like the food at the restaurants in the new Wegman's center or in downtown Frederick.

Definitely above average Chinese! Slightly pricey, but you get a decent amount of food. The combination platter of General Tsos was more than enough to share with my sister. I will definitely order from here again! Yum!

I ordered the Singapore rice noodles with egg rolls. The noodles were very good with a strong curry kick. The egg rolls were crispy with the classic egg roll flavor. Additionally, I also ordered the combination fried rice for my daughter. I didn't get a chance to eat it, however, the portion was large--served in a full quart container. This place is close to home and will be my local Chinese carryout.

Based on one experience - today's lunch - it seems a notch better than the typical Chinese takeout. 3.5 stars, so I'll round up. I actually ate my food in - they do have a few tables - but it really seems to be a primarily a takeout kind of place; order at the counter, seat yourself, and help yourself to plasticware. I had a lunch special for under $7 that included a big bowl of hot and sour soup (more fresh vegetables and less gooey liquid than typical), chicken curry, and rice. All very good. I'll definitely try this place again.

i really like this place! i have had takeout and eaten in, and both times, the food was tasty, delicious and affordable. the broccoli has always been crunchy; e.g. vegetables are fresh. So far, everything i have ordered off their menu has been lovely! they installed a big flat screen tv to entertain eat in diners and their kids, who hang out quietly during the non busy phase of the day.

This is my fav Chinese restaraunt in Frederick. The food is freshly prepared, reasonably priced in an unfussy casual atmosphere. Carryout is quick and friendly. I love just about everything I've had there. I love the hot/sour soup, egg drop soup, egg rolls, shanghai rolls, orange chicken, singapore noodles, lo mein, the fried rice, and love the vegetable egg foo young.

This restaurant is a hidden jewel in Frederick. The food is fresh and excellent. We ordered the orange chicken (white meat), general tso's chicken and shrimp fried rice. We were not disappointed and very pleased with the quality and taste. The prices are a little on the high side but well worth it. We wish we had found out about the Great Wall sooner because we missed quality Chinese food and right in our backyard.

Just ate there . As I am here on business and don't know the area. The service was good I ordered general tsos tofu and it was cold mushy not spicy at all even though I said make it as hot as possible I didn't want to finish the meal so I didn't. the lady behind the counter was nice and the store was very clean just didn't like anything I ate at all.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
